Frode angled his head. Much like a macaw, he mimicked the words, except he actually tried to absorb the meaning.

"A lot of naps," he repeated somewhat choppily. What did a lot mean again? He somewhat recalled the general gist of it.

There's a lot on my mind today, Frode.

He bobbed his head in a rather understanding nod. By then most of the wyverns had disappeared into the forest. The small crowd following Haar and Tiamat remained where they were, watching Frode and Haar converse. Fascinating!

Frode waded through his mind for the words he was looking for.

Sorry, Frode; I can't stay much longer.

"Haar...s...stay...much longer?"

"I will stay." Haar answered. "I just need a little sleep."

Frode angled his head the other way now. Sleep was extremely familiar. Perhaps all the inhabitants of Arheins knew the word. Of course, Frode was the only speaking wyvern on this little island...

Go to sleep, all of you. Sun's setting.

Frode looked over to the horizon. The sun had yet to set, so it confused the wyvern. Still, he supposed he couldn't say too much on the matter.

"Sleep. Okay."

The water would take time to recede, but eventually Arheins would be dry. New plantlife was sure to bloom. With enough luck, there wouldn't be any diseased mosquitos spawning across the town either. Frode had some sense of time, but no sense of when the water would drain. He only had the forest's bounty to look to now.

Haar and Tiamat would not have any reason to be here. Frode's reasoning abilities were limited, so he himself could not determine whether or not they were likely to leave soon. In actuality, the lack of a purpose to stay would more or less lose Haar's interest at some point in time.

"I'm going to stick around. Just to make sure you guys are ok." Haar sat down at a tree and closed his eyes.

"I'm going to stick around."

Well, that was a problem. Frode didn't know what 'stick around' meant. He had never heard their father say 'stick around'. He knew was a 'stick' was (or maybe 'sticky') but not 'stick around'. Weird.

Frode simply blinked at Haar and nodded. "Okay."

And he sat close by, watching over the wyrmlings that watched Haar and Tiamat.

Haar fell asleep right away. Tiamat layed down but didn't go to sleep he was interested in the little wyverns.

The wyrmlings noticed that their beorc guest was asleep, but not their wyvern guest. The crowd waddled inward, grinning and smiling up at Tiamat. Two were wagging their little tails. None of them really seemed to have any idea of what to do.

Frode continued to watch them boredly. If this was all they were going to do, he might as well go foraging or something. The strangers appeared harmless.

Tiamat watched the wyrmlings. He wanted to be sure that they were safe. He was also unsure about why his rider did what he did. Haar wasn't always a person who seemed like he cared about alot.

Eventually, Frode slunk off. Watching wyrmlings watch an unusual wyvern was not entirely entertaining, and there was a job he had to do anyway. He quickly rejoined the wyverns who were traversing deeper into the slightly humid forest.

Soon the wyrmlings were alone with Tiamat and Haar. One noticed this and grew frightened, stumbling away from the strangers, squeaking after the Arheins wyverns as it tried to follow. The other wyrmlings watched but remained with Tiamat and Haar. They had no idea of the dangers of the forest, the creatures that usually avoided the ruins and preyed within the trees and grasses.

Haar woke up. "Hmmm....Something doesn't feel right." He said to himself

As Haar awoke, all the wyrmlings had turned their heads to the north.

In fact, every wyvern had stopped to look north.

And as another matter of fact, every little creature seemed to be looking north.

Clearly, they had sensed it. Perhaps the entire continent could sense it. Something massive, something powerful, something...that should not have concerned Arheins, but it still did.

All was quiet...

Haar stood up. "Whatever is going on over there, it can't be too good."

The earth rumbled.

Another storm? No, there was no typhoon or tsunami in sight.

The surge of power seemed to last forever, whatever it was. And as it continued to seize Arheins, the earth continued to quake.

On instinct, the wyverns gathered once again, doing so near Haar and Tiamat since it was the edge of the forest and on seemingly safe territory.

Frode, with the incense burner in his hands, looked down.

The earth bulged. Something was...rising from below.

"Get ready Tiamat." He told his dragon as he got on. He grabbed a steel axe from his bag of stuff. Whatever it was, he was ready to fight it
