There are girls there. I refuse to come. It won't be any fun!
E'si sighed softly to himself at the little mental warning, deciding that he would probably be better off not going if Miith was going to monitor every single one of his movements to make sure he wasn't hanging out with girls. Then again, this was likely one of the few times he could get away with it, since Miith wouldn't ram her head against the small of his back impatiently if he so much stepped a toe in the wrong direction (and towards a girl). But, he supposed that there were a few people he was acquainted with, and it would be a little disrespectful not to congratulate them.
So here he was, at the Feast, with Miith chatting happily away into his head, describing how much she did not like girls and how pretty today was. Ironically enough, it made him smile. He loved his darling little green more than anything else, more than the countless good flings he had, more than his family (like he was very close to them anyways, to begin with). Miith was his life, and he was already thinking about when it would be appropriate to head back to go lay down beside her and chat pointlessly on and on about things. Well, the sooner he socialized a little and congratulated the new Weyrlings, the sooner he could get back to her.
It was why he headed straight for the largest group gathered, which encompassed quite a few of the new Weyrlings. Usually he would have preferred just talking to someone one on one... but sacrifices, this was all about sacrifices. When you get back will you scratch my eye ridge? If you take too long I'm going to go play with Galliath. The unspoken statement was that once she started playing with Galliath, E'si would have to wait until tomorrow to bond some more with her, since she'd likely be passed out for the entirety of the night after rough-housing with her closest friend.
He made it to the group, standing a little outside of it as he analyzed all that stood there. S'van was naturally the person he knew the most, but he recognized a few of the gathered people. Nandeli was unmistakable, as was Okassis... or whatever he'd call himself now. Kiriwar too, and he almost snerked at the thought of Kiriwar shortening his name to K'war, if he chose that. K'waaaarrrr, it sounded like a battle cry of sorts. He'd have to figure out what they all were calling themselves later. Jiriar too was someone he recognized, along with Zara. Shells, this was going to be hard.
E'si finally decided to stand next to S'van, turning his head slightly to his friend in greetings, also as a silent plea of help, because like shells he knew what he was doing. He just wanted to be nice for a little while. "Hey."
YOU'RE HANGING OUT WITH A BUNCH OF GIRLS ALREADY! I hope you know that they'll BORE you! Miith cried out, sounding vaguely scandalized.

"Queep!" Kia said excitedly, peering up at the gold dragonet. "Queep, queep!" The very big gold had looked at her! Stretching her neck out as long as it would go, the green flit chirped a happy greeting to the queen. She flipped her wings onto her back in a great show of dainty elegance that was somewhat taken away from when she got a wingtip stuck behind one limb. "Keeeer!" Oh dear. S'van reached down and carefully righted the wing, allowing the small creature the prim poise that she was trying to assume. Aeron's angry hisses confused the flitter, and she cheeped at him, attempting to soothe his ruffled temper. Big! Rearing up onto her hind legs, the baby tried to reach the queen again, but failed, and flopped onto the floor again with much cheeping.
More exciting than the queen's acknowledgment was the sight of several greens just like her! Biiig! Very big! Tail flip flopping with happiness, she hummed and attempted to mimic Ailurath by rearing onto her hind legs once more. "Queep!" Oh, this was very exciting! Eyes whirling rapidly, the tiny green firelizard maintained her balance for as long as she could, mirroring her much larger cousin.
"Don't worry about it, Mal. Kia'll keep Aeron in line, won't you Kia?" "Krrii!" Apparently so. Mine! I hear Miith! Miith, where have you gone? Oh dear. Well, at least he had a little bit of warning before-- "Heya, E'si. Did you get to see the Hatching?" S'van offered the weyrling a friendly smile, trying to coax him to mingle with the group a little more. "I know you've met my friend Okassis-- what is it now, Kas, anyway?" Had it been O'asis? He wasn't entirely sure. "And this is Nan the Nose, and Jessmet... oh and their lovely dragons, of course." And J'riar, and K'riwar. He thought that E'si knew both of them, though.
Taking the opportunity to be exuberant, S'van turned and snagged a hold of Jiriar. "Hey! Congratulations, Jiri! I knew you had it in you! And Kiri, too!" But Jiriar, whose little dragonet was trying so desperately to hide, was grabbed up in a hug, and given a clap on the back. "She's adorable. Shells, all of the new little greens are." He had been somewhat amazed by how many there were, in total. Over half of the new dragonets were greens, it seemed. He reached over, trying to shake Kiriwar's hand, terribly pleased that so many of his friends had impressed, and... he snagged him over for a hug as well. "Look at all of you!"

"Might've been inevitable, really," the blonde mused as he let Nandeli back to the floor. With a teasing smile, he explained, "After being the Queen of Tuber Talk for so long, this is just the next logical step, isn't it?"
"It's O'asis." He said the name boastfully, treating it with all the pride that a newly fledged bronzerider ought to. His old man would go purple with rage to hear him say it, but he had a new family now - why should that bother him? Grinning again, he looked to S'van; "I figured it would be too easy for your songs if I went with O'assis!"
Moving out of the way so that Mal (that's what S'van had called him, right?) could get by, O'asis nodded a disinterested greeting to E'si. He knew how caustic the greenrider could be, but it didn't bother him much just now. However, it did remind him of something, and now the blond began scanning the crowds, trying to pick out a familiar face. Wouldn't Kyllae be coming by to congratulate him? He didn't see her anywhere....
I say only what is true, Uktenath answered Reneneth, before his attention drifted upwards. The flitts were making quite a scene now, weren't they? The little one on the ground, the other puffing itself up. He regarded them, and then dismissed them; they were not important to him or His, he thought, and that was enough for now.
There were others with them now, more of his sisters, each with their own ways and whims. Uktenath looked at each of them in turn with a speculative eye, observing them, noting their existence, but did not try to greet them. Timid Ianquith was looked after by the caring Kadiath. This was fine, and concerned him little. But, he saw from the corner of his eye, brooding Sikatcuath was aligning her mental crosshairs. He turned his head to face her openly, and then turned away again. Exactly as much effort as was needed so that she'd know Uktenath had seen her, that he would not tolerate her making any imitation of her act out on the Sands, and not a drop more.

"Then go to bed, C'ren. I'm not going to keep you up," he snapped, rubbing the bridge of his nose as he turned to glare at his...roommate. Honestly, what was he expecting? Yes, perhaps F'sey was tired and sore, but he also worked very hard and he was...getting old. Older, rather. The greenrider cringed visibly at the thought. It was still very hard to digest, that thought, but at least he'd gotten to the point it was mildly...tolerable. Mildly. Maybe.
"Are you still here?"
F'sey paused and halted, not really sure how far he'd gotten. Or how far he'd gotten away from C'ren. It was hard to keep track of things when the room was spinning and his...roommate was talking his ear of. And maybe he was right and he did need more sleep, but like hell he would admit that. Especially after the fuss he put up to stay here! He at least wanted to make sure all the newly-Impressed were doing well, especially that vicious little green. They didn't need anymore injuries.
Mine?
That was weird. What was that voice? He knew that voice. F'sey opened his mouth, trying to figure out what to say to that familiar voice when he noticed the edges of the hall were stating to fade inwards. That was weirder than the voice. And the floor was coming up to meet him, so very strange indeed. It happened so slowly, but he still couldn't seem to call upon his limbs to stop the fall. He was falling, wasn't he? It was so hard to tell, with everything fading to-
Ialluth stood suddenly, eyes whirling an array of concerned colors. F'seymine!
But there was only silence.

"........" He. Was. Mortified. This was the person he had groped last feast? Oh...oh...this was...very... Awkward. ".....If it makes any consolation, I swear, I don't remember what I did, and I honestly wish whatever I did, I could take back. I don't like men, to be honest, and when I heard of my antics..." He bowed his head, both in shame and embarrassment. "I am deeply sorry for them." Looking back up at S'van, he was quite sure his face was redder then molten metal. "Perhaps we may start over? I'm Dorinelic. But, feel free to call me what you like." Well...it was a start. Looking at Okassis, he game a weak smile. "I also came over to give my congratulations. Really. Some how, the bronze suits you...or rather you suit the bronze. As for drinking..." He sighed. "I don't think the kitchen ladies will even let me near the stuff...but I somewhat recall that last time the Klah was spiked so... Unless someone plays chaperon, I'm quite fearful of what I might do next time I'm...incompetent in my decision making skills." He sighed again. At least he wasn't coming off as a total fool.
The sound of Nan did draw his attention though. "Nandeli? I also have been meaning to congratulate you. A gold...Really, from what I have heard of you, you're are quite infamous...now, you will no doubt be the center of attention! But like the bronze suits Okas- Oh sorry, O'asis, (It's very nice. Rolls off the tongue.), you really are perfect for the golden queen. Quite the regal one she was on the Sands." He offered her his hand, along with a smile. "You were the one who really introduced me to the wyer after all. Its only fitting I pay my most humble congratulations. To think I would meet a future queenrider on my first day..." Dorinelic smiled at bit more comfortable with the setting. Surprising how a familiar face did that.

As everyone made their introductions, Zara smiled and nodded, but returned to her usual quiet observation. There was E'si, which was unusual...as for the names of those she hadn't met before, she was marking each one down in her mind as she heard them. Jessmet, "Jiri," and "Kiri." Hmm. She was starting to get hungry...should she go get food? Nah. It'd be rude to leave the company of the newly-Impressed just yet, and Fuxith would be absolutely scandalized at that.
And then there was a sudden movement not far off, and a slight thud. Whirling, Zara caught sight of a collapsed F'sey. Oh great. Something was Not Right here.

Well, if it wasn't the doting green from earlier! And she had Impressed K'riwar! Grinning broadly, the young man reached out to give the other's shoulder a shake. "Congratulations to you as well! A fine green, she's stunning!" And already making her way to her sister again, it seemed. And what, was O'asis avoiding him?
"Well that's a fine hello." He'd tease, tapping his black eye. "This the only way you can properly greet me?" But oh, S'van! "And hello to you too!" An arm would sling itself around the other's shoulders, and he shook the man just affectionately as he had with K'riwar. "Shards, I know it. So shy though! Just beautiful." He was so fond, how could he not be.
Oh Kadiath! The little green all but meeped, about to press herself against her sister. I am so glad you are here. Thank you for helping me find Mine, earlier. I was afraid... I was afraid I would not find him. He is handsome, and yours is as well. What is his name? Mine is J'riar. She only then noted the stare of the bronze, found herself flattening herself down immediately as though to not be noticed.
Hello, Uktenath. She would manage after a few uncomfortable seconds, seating herself quietly by Hers and doing her best to keep her eyes on the bronze. All right, she could do this! ...Yours is very handsome, very strong. Like you are. All right, that was enough, and she chirped a little feebly even as she nuzzled Kadiath.
J'riar, in the meanwhile, would grin at all the new faces (and E'si!) and nod. "Pleasure to meet you all, and congrats to those newly Impressed. May you all rue the day you welcomed me into your ranks!"

A delighted laugh came from K'riwar when he was snagged in a hug by S'van, clapping him on the back and grinning happily. "Thank you, very much," he said, looking just delighted. "I'm so happy for the group that Impressed this time around... There are so many of us!"This was just such a fantastic group, so many friends of his had Impressed -- K'riwar could not be happier, really, with the new riders.
He nodded his head in greeting to E'si, smiling crookedly. "Hullo, E'si," he said in greeting, before looking at Ianquith, simply smitten with her shy nature. J'riar had been lucky, getting such a sweet thing. He was glad to see that she was still happy and comfortable with Kadiath. Perhaps they could amuse each other enough for him to get something to eat and drink, and some socialization in. He sighed happily, moving to pat O'asis on the back. "Hey there, congrats on the Bronze... I'm K'riwar, I don't know if we've met."
At the same time, Kadiath was doting on her sister, while eying those around Hers, making sure that none got too close and none truly forgot she was there. That just would not do. Mine is K'riwar, is it not wonderful? I adore him. She paused, spotting Uktenath, before chirping boldly and nuzzling at her sister. Greetings, Uktenath. Yours and you are quite wonderful -- Mine and I are happy for you!

Jessmet snuck her free arm around K'riwar's waist for a quick hug as well. It hadn't been that long ago that they'd met, he new to the Weyr. Ailurath chirped a greeting at Kadiath and Ianquith before turning to the new queen.
The little cousin is all right, she informed Reneneth, ducking her head slightly. Jessmet says so. And, according to Ailurath, Jessmet knew everything.
"We're a good group, even with J'riar," Jessmet teased. She stood on tiptoe, gazing out across the crowd. Was Cantorel there? Had he bothered to attend the Hatching?

Notos was just entering the room, with Asceth behind him. he had dozed off for a few minutes, and shards, he had suddenly found it to be so late!
The little dragonet had apparently gotten the hang of walking, walking with ease as he questioned the rider. I did not see reason to wake you up. He tilted his head, wondering if he had done something.
Notos shook his head, mindful of the dragon. It's my fault. He thought warmly, knowing that Asceth would recieve his thoughts.
Notos found a group of some of his friends, gathered with people that he didn't know. They were all the ones that hd impressed, if Notos remembered correctly! Maybe this was an opportunity to get himself acquanted, calling out "Hey, J'riar and K'riwar!" He smiled, eager to see them. "May I join in?" He flashed a grin to the people that he didn't know, pushing back a fes strands of hair from his forehead.
"May Asceth join in?" The little brown queried, following his owner's lead into the two greens and bronze. It flicked a smile at the other dragons, his eyes swirling the color of pleasure. "Mine is Notos. Who are Yours?"

The grin on Nimwae could not have been any wider. Even though she had been one of the first to Impress, it seemed as if only a few seconds had passed between when she had heard the first 'Nimwaemine' and now. And look, it was already time for the Feast! The others' Impressions had been little more than a blur, the girl hardly paying attention as she fed Lernaeth. Even though they hadn't known each other even a candlemark, it felt as if she had known the dragon her entire life; they knew everything about each other, and were the best of friends. It was truly a marvelous thing.
The green dragonet was currently running a short ways ahead of her rider, surprisingly energetic for a hatchling who had just been fed. Her excitement was fueled by the abundance of people attending the Feast, and the young dragon had every intention of meeting as much of that abundance as she could. Hurry, Nimewaemine! You are slower than Naedreth was at finding His! Lernaeth's clumsiness from before had not improved much, and with her running she looked more like a wild, rampaging wherry than a regal dragon.
Nimwae had no idea who Naedreth was, but she did know that Lernaeth was going far too fast. "Please slow down! You're going to run into someone," she called, doubting the enthusiastic dragon would listen.. Surprisingly, she did stop, rather suddenly, causing Nimwae to almost crash into her. Mine, why is your clutchmate alone? We should greet him. Let's go! And then the dragon was off again, this time running in the direction of Anont.
She could do nothing but follow the green as she led her to a strange boy she had never met before. Go on, tell him your Lernaeth says hello! Never the shy one, Nimwae took the request in stride. "Uh, Lernaeth says hi! And so do I," she said, grinning at the strange boy. This was one way to make a friend.

Snap, snap, snap. It wasn’t like F’sey ever actually went through on any threats. Maybe his manner could frighten some newly Impressed Weyrling, but it didn’t scare C’ren. The lack of threats frightened him more, actually. He continued to follow F’sey, like a very grumpy balloon held on a very small bit of string. He was tempted to point out that F’sey was going the wrong way if he wanted to get himself a drink, but it worked out to his advantage.
“Yes, I’m still here. Right here,” C’ren said, poking F’sey’s shoulder. “Ready to go back home now?” Why, yes! He did become an amazingly annoying toddler when he wanted something. And then the older Greenrider just… collapsed. Since saving F’sey was far more important than saving the plate of food, C’ren promptly dropped the plate to the ground and caught his … roommate.
“…F…F’sey?” gently, C’ren tried to shake the other Greenrider awake. No. This could not be happening. It wasn’t… it just couldn’t. He licked his lips and tried again. “’Sey? Wake up. … … ‘S-‘Sey?” it wasn’t like C’ren to speak softly, but he used his quietest voice now. Clearly, it wasn’t working, since Ialluth’s rider wasn’t waking up.
At least Ialluth hadn’t gone between. C’ren shot a glare over at the Weyrlings, as if daring any of them to notice him trying to carry off F’sey. That was the sort of behavior to cause comment, after all. Thankfully, it seemed that most of them were too busy congratulating each other to notice the fallen Weyrlingmaster.
Ceylith. Tell Ialluth everything will be alright. Just… try to keep her calm, ok? he asked as he attempted to get F’sey to the Infirmary. Thank Faranth that the man was shorter than C’ren!
Ceylith’s eyes mirrored Ialluth’s, a flurry of worry. Mine! What’s wrong with Ialluth’s?! He fell down! Why won’t he move? Oh, Ialluth… she crooned at her friend and nudged her shoulder with her nose. It’ll be fine… look! Mine is helping! Yours will be alright.
She didn’t sound confident about this. Not at all. It will be alright.

Faranth...would the Weyrlingmaster's weyrmate actually do something rather than just shake the poor man around like that? With a sigh, Zara wove herself back out of the group and trotted over. "Hey," she said, hoping to catch C'ren's attention. "Let me help." The look she gave C'ren was mild, but something in it dared him to protest. F'sey didn't look that big, but he still couldn't be that easy to carry.

Queen of the Tuber Talk? Hee hee. She liked that one. You could always count on Okassis – sorry, O'asis now – to come up with witty nicknames. And if you wanted songs and poetry, you went to S'van. They really did make such a good pair. "O'asis? I like it! O'asis and Uktenath! It has a nice ring to it." Their little gathering was increasing exponentially as more and more people flocked towards their awesomeness. And who wouldn't? Everybody seemed to know Nan or O'asis (or both!), not to mention there were two bronzes and a queen hanging out in this group. Clearly this was where the party was at.
Now that she was back on her own feet, she took the opportunity to take a look at the new arrivals. She recognized E'si – who didn't know that greenrider – but she didn't know him well enough to say anything. Still, she smiled at him, leaving the introductions to S'van. The brownrider seemed to know E'si better anyways. Besides, there were more people here! A boy S'van announced as Jiri was there with his little green – she made a mental note of that – but when she saw who he came with she decidedly lost interest in him. Her next target had arrived!
"Kiriwar! Kiriwar you Impressed!" He received his own tackle hug, Nandeli completely oblivious to the fact that he was probably trying to talk to other people. They could wait. Goldriders got priority when it came to hugs and congratulations. Once she was sure he'd received the proper amount of affection she released him and gave Kadiath a wave. "She's absolutely adorable, what is it now K'riwar?" She thought she had heard that name thrown around. "Now you're stuck with us forever!"
Her attention was pulled away when her name was called, and she looked around for the speaker. Ah Dorinelic! The gay smith! She remembered him! Nandeli tilted her head at his words, surprised by his somewhat verbose congratulations, but accepted them with a bright smile nonetheless. "Weeeell, you didn't know I would be a queenrider when you met me, so don't let it change anything! I'll make sure to keep an eye out for you even now. Make sure you don't get stolen away by some of those randy greenriders." Though apparently he'd been trying his luck with the brownriders. For shame.
... This little creature was positively adorable. Reneneth could not help but stare at it with whirling blue eyes, crooning softly whenever it "queeped" at her. She wanted to take it home and keep it in her little weyrling bed and why did Hers not have one like this? Reassured by Ailurath's words and Kia's apparent fearlessness of her, the gold lowered her head so it was resting right on the ground, eager to get as close as possible to the little green firelizard.

K'riwar grinned when N'tos came into view, gesturing for him to come closer. He couldn't believe how many of those he knew had Impressed -- It seemed that they had just become roommates, and now they were on to another step in life together. He patted the other on the back, saying happily, "Congrats, Notos... or what is it now? N'tos?" He reached out to scratch at Kadiath's eyeridges when she bumped against him a little, smiling down at his little Green.
All of a sudden, he was tackled, and a delighted laugh came from him. He wrapped his arms around Nan and lifted her clear off of the ground to hug her close, grinning up at her. "Nandeli, you sly girl! Becoming a goldrider on me, without even telling me you planned on it!" he teased, grinning at her as he set her down. "Yes, I'm K'riwar, now. Has a nice ring, does it not?"
