Aoi couldn’t help but snicker a little inwardly, this was just so…entertaining. The manipulative little b*****d was certainly pulling some strings now, and was enjoying it to the fullest. Ohoho, that was a rather interesting emotional pulse Verdant just emitted after the shower was mentioned, wonder what that might be…Heheheh…

When Aoi was this amused, you could be pretty much guaranteed something was soon to go terribly awry, at least if he had anything to say about it. Yes, he’d noticed that pull at Verdant’s vest, wonder what might have prompted that, eh? Ahem. Not important right now. That was a reaction that already happened, a string already pulled, time to focus on what has yet to happen.

My, was Verdant blushing again? Hm, there’s an equation to this somewhere, The level of stimulation to the inverse power of the number of feet away from Shade Verdant is, equals the level of red coloring entering Verdant’s face… Ahem. Anyway, let’s see what other subversive measures can be taken, shall we?

Rude? Rude? I haven’t the slightest idea what you’re talking about none at all, and who said anything about kissing a minor? It’s not like my Dad won’t even notice and wouldn’t mind in the slightest even if he did see you, of course not… A quick, muffled snicker could just barely be heard. Pederasty? No such thing, I don’t even know the word… From his tone, it was easily apparent he knew exactly what that meant. ’sides, don’t you think nymphs look a little older than they usually are? I mean, hell, Dad’s probably in the triple digits by now, he certainly doesn’t look it…not that you heard it from me, of course. He flashed a quick, wry, even a little…devious grin, mentally of course; he lacked a mouth. And hey, you could always have the excuse that you were under the influence of a number of potent airborne pituitary pheromones being released in the gallons by a certain rare breed of flower… another, almost playful snicker, and he fell silent again, continuing to grin. This was getting quite fun to watch.

And, hey, Orpheus, however abstract his mind was, certainly seemed to be thinking. Aoi’d always found it quite difficult to read the little wyvern; he didn’t know why. Oh well, his words were enough for now to figure Orpheus out. Aoi‘s voice permeated the Proto’s mind once more. He certainly does, Orph…Fun to see the change the little dude inspires in him, really. Either way, though, we can keep each other company and leave them be for now, hm?

As all this unfolded, Elst simply continued walking. Maybe not clueless, but he at least wasn’t really paying attention to the fact that his Essentic was currently speaking to Verdant from the same corner of the nymph’s mind a conscience would, though a conscience would likely object to what Aoi was saying, of course. They had just began to pass between the two massive greenhouses, their sheer size blocking out the sun from the angle the motley crew was at, the ground bathed in jade light.

Damn, not only was Aoi admirably persistent, but he was actually starting to convince the blushing nymph. Verdant was now seriously considering snatching up Shade and making good use of his experience as a gay male escort. Still, Elst was his best friend and he wouldn’t want to do something embarrassing in front of him… though Aoi did know Elst better than even Elst himself, so maybe he was right…

“Yeah, you don’t know what pederasty is and I lost my virginity to a voluptuous hooker with heaving breasts.” Verdant nearly gagged at the very idea of making love to a woman. That kind of lifestyle was alright for some people, but he just could not think about him touching a woman in a way that had nothing to do with fixing her hair or tightening her corset. “Wait, so how old IS Elst anyway? …And you’re kidding about the pheromones, right? Right?”

Orpheus had to admit that Verdant trying to hide his, er, “excitement” was pretty entertaining and Shade seemed to be absolutely oblivious to what was going on. The wyvern’s body went rigid with glee when Aoi mentioned keeping each other company. “Yes! Yes, den we can play wid each udder and stuff while da adults talk!”

Shade, of course, WAS completely oblivious to what was going on. He was, however, wondering why no one had said anything for the past little while. He thought of bringing up a conversation, but that had never really been his strong point - he wasn't sure of what exactly to talk about anyway. He was more concerned about getting himself clean when they reached Elst's house anyway. There wasn't much that he could do about his clothing, but at least he'd get to shower off a bit.

Despite not knowing of the conversation that was taking place, Shade still noticed how red Verdant's face was. Was he getting too hot? Perhaps that was the case. "Are you...feeling okay, Verdant?" the impling asked softly, blinking at the red-faced nymph. Maybe he'd been working really hard today or something...
PostPosted: Mon Jul 06, 2009 5:33 pm

Aoi’s eyes widened a little as Verdant’s next comment sent him into a bit of a giggle fit. Oh, did you now, Verdant, and I thought I knew so much about you… He obviously knew that the nymph was being sarcastic, but, actually letting on to that would be no fun. Now, let’s leave him with just a hint more tempting, hm? Huh? Oh, Dad’s up there, somewhere, yeah…Any exact number would be fairly hard to get…Either way, he’s old enough to understand humanity pretty well, I’d say…And far too old to be finding something such as your plans with Shade here odd, you’ll be fine…heheheh…And pheromones? Nah, I‘d never do something so mean spirited, never

And with that he turned a bit to latch an arm around Shade’s shoulders for a moment, as it was he had to stretch his wispy arms to reach up that far, but it was done without too much trouble. He could sense a bit of hesitation around the boy, perhaps the silence unnerved him? Hmmm, so, how have you been, Shade? Haven’t heard much out of you. He switched his telepathy once more to address Orpheus, who seemed rather excited at the formerly mentioned idea. Mmhmm. Maybe I could teach you one of my dances, too, it’ll be fun.”

~

As they neared the house, Elst spared a glance back at his guests. Through their bond, Elst could easily tell that Aoi was up to something, but no malice seemed present, so Elst paid it no heed, for now. What was it, this strange familiarity Aoi seemed to sense between Verdant and Shade? How odd, the only physical indication from the two of them was a redness to the face, and…Verdant seemed to also be fidgeting with his vest an awful lot. How peculiar, all of this… They walked through the ‘front yard’ of Elst’s house; many an exotic flower, along with dozens of roses decorated every inch of it. In particular, there was a monumentally-size lavender which seemed to consume on side of the house.

Elst approached the front door, unlocking it, and opening it to release a quick breeze of cool air from within, laden with the usual menagerie of natural scents. “Hm, here we are…Come on in, it’s nice and cool inside, and you both seem rather hot and bothered from the sun…” …Interesting choice of words there, Elst.

Shade was snapped out of his thoughts as he felt Aoi's arm on his shoulder. He quickly glanced towards the proto and smiled to him. "I've been okay..." He'd been having his usual problems at school, but that was nothing to be concerned with...at least he didn't think so anyway. It wasn't like he was the only kid on the planet that got bothered at school. Besides, those thoughts were far from his mind since he was with his friends - why should he think about something like that when he was with them? He usually found himself feeling quite happy when he was in their little group, though he did still have the tendency to be rather quiet at times.

"Everything's been pretty normal at home..." He was actually a little surprised to find that he'd been growing lonely when he was by himself at the apartment. Normally, he'd have been content to just play his games by himself while his mother was gone, but...lately, he'd been wanting to be around friends more. Odd, since it had never bothered him before. Well, it didn't matter right now - he was with them after all and was fairly content, aside from his embarrassment about being so sweaty and sticky from the heat.

Verdant rolled his eyes at Aoi, but it didn't mean that the Proto's words had been lost on him. Would Elst really not mind? Really? Hell, he was pretty damn close to believing Aoi...

"Y-yeah, how've you been, Shade? Everything been alright?" Verdant still remembered that Shade had problems with bullies at school, but he'd never gotten the chance to ask if things were any better.

Orpheus merely giggled with glee at the mere thought of dancing with Aoi. It really would be fun!

Verdant sighed with relief when they finally got to Elst's house. The sooner I sit down, the easier it'll be to hide my freakin' bo- "I love your house, Elst. It always smells so nice!"

Aoi thought out a subdued Hmmm…, before gleaning a little more off the boy. It seemed he was telling the truth with his saying that everything was like usual, yet there were tiny sparks of unhappiness rooted in it. Was this tension, this sadness the usual? Aoi certainly hoped not, and was glad to see that this little outing was proving enjoyable for the impling. The usual, huh? Well, some time you’re just gonna have to tell me just what this troubling ‘usual’ is for you…But for now, let’s enjoy the moment, eh? I think Verdant needs your…attention at present.

If he could have smirked a little at the nymph’s bright red face, he would. But for now, a few more teasing comments would suffice. My my my, don’t you seem flustered, whatever could be on your mind, hm? Or should I say, who? And what’s this…motive for getting inside…the house I sense, Verdy…? Really though, this was getting to be way too much fun for the little Proto, amusing to no end. And hey, would you look at that, Orpheus seemed pleased as well. Win-win scenario, Aoi thought.

~

As Elst lead his guests into the pleasantly cool, fragrant house, he nodded mildly at Verdant’s compliment. “Well, I try to keep it nice, it’s nice to hear you like it…” He brought them down the long hallway, lined with plants, ivy-covered skylights, and a few simple paintings alike, to the main room, the living room. Here, the hallway opened up to a bright, sunny room absolutely permeated by windows, while still nice and cool in temperature. There were many an overstuffed recliner, even a loveseat sofa to be had, plenty of comfortable arrangements.

“Hm, yes, go ahead and have a seat while I get some iced tea for you both…Shade, I’ll direct you to the shower in just a moment, I’ll need to get you something else to wear as well; I doubt you’d want to clean yourself up just to step into those sweaty clothes again…”

Quietly, to Verdant, as Elst left to go into the kitchen, Aoi mentally whispered; Hmmmmm, I bet there’s someone else who’d just love to get into his sweaty clothes, huh…heheheh…

Shade blinked as he heard Aoi's words in his mind. He glanced to the proto, a little confused for a moment before he looked to Verdant. He nodded to the nymph, his tail flicking along behind him as he walked. "Yeah, e-everything's been fine..." He was somewhat relieved that the flush on his face could be blamed on the heat and his fur probably covered it anyway thankfully.

The young impling glanced around as they came into the house, the coolness of it relieving him. He was so glad to be out of that heat. And Elst's house was so nice too! The scents that all the plants were pleasant and they made him feel calm. He glanced around as they were all led into the living room, surprised that the room remained so cool even though there were so many windows.

The boy nodded to Elst as the plant-man left the room and took a seat on the sofa - it would definitely be a relief to get out of these clothes. He had to wonder if Elst would have anything that would fit him though. He was so tall and Shade was, well...really short. 'It'll be better than these, either way...' He'd just figure out how to make them work if they were too big.

Verdant swore over his amaranth and best pair of shoes that he would get back at Aoi somehow after this was all over. Sure, it was obvious to anyone who wasn't Shade that the imp was getting him hot and bothered, but Aoi was having way too much fun with all this- not that Verdant wasn't, of course. If I end up doing something to him or with him, I will so hold you personally responsible. Seriously, I will go Neomi Campbell on your a- "'S always nice, Elst! I wish I could have a house half as nice as yours!"

Verdant turned to smile at Shade; he was glad to hear that things were alright, though he had a suspicion that the impling wasn't being completely honest. Still, was prying the best thing to do? Probably not. Instead he took a seat next to Shade as Orpheus started nesting in his hair; was it that humid today?!

Orpheus, content with his nest, sighed as he waited for Aoi to come back. "Sure is humid, huh, Big Brudder?"

It was a few minutes’ wait, before Elst once again emerged from the hallway, carrying a large pitcher of freshly-brewed iced tea and a stack of glasses. Aoi, trailing behind him, held a neatly folded stack of clothing. Elst sat the pitcher down on the table next to the recliners his guests had sat down in, placing cups within their respective reaches. “Alright, here, help yourself to as much tea as you’d like… Shade, we couldn’t find anything in my wardrobe that was anywhere near fitting you, so Aoi here was kind enough to check his own closet, and we found some clothes that may fit you.”

At this, Aoi grabbed the hem of each piece of clothing, unfolding them and hanging them from his hands to make them fully visible. A pair of black slacks, seemingly right around Shade’s size, was accompanied by a brown leather belt to adjust to any difference in waistline. In his other hand was a purple-and-blue, long-sleeve cotton shirt with a simple, yet nice sun-and-moon pattern to it. There was also a pair of socks and slippers.

I’ll show you over to the shower, Shade, if you’re ready… He nodded a little towards Shade, sending a variety of ‘calm vibes’ mentally in his direction. Then, his focus shifted to Verdant as he waited for Shade’s reply, once again slipping into a mental channel only Verdant could hear. My my myyyy, Verdant, you doing something to our little Shade? Thought never crossed my mind~ He accompanied this with a purposely overdramatic sigh, his playful tone showing clear through. All mentally of course, wouldn’t want Shade hearing any of this and turning tomato-red again… You act as if I’m trying to instigate misbehavior, I’m so hurt… Was this a load of crap? Pretty much. Aoi was just enjoying hamming it up here…

Once again back to everyone-can-hear mode, Aoi shifted his gaze to Verdant, or more accurately the Essentic situated in the nymph’s hair. Hm, Orph, you look all hot from the humidity outside, try some of the iced tea, it’s nice and full of ice cubes, it’ll cool you down real quick…tastes pretty good, too, Dad was using his cane sugar sweetening again~ His good mood was really starting to become obvious by this point.

Shade smiled as Verdant took a seat next to him, a light flush of red spreading across the skin beneath his fur. Before today, he hadn't seen Verdant since going to the ball...the memory only caused him to blush harder. That had...certainly been an interesting evening, to say the least, one that he wasn't going to be forgetting for a very long time.

The impling was snapped out of his little flashback sequence as Elst and Aoi returned to the room. The boy was relieved to see that they'd been able to find something that would fit him - now he wouldn't have to change back into his dirty clothes once he was done in the shower! "Thanks guys...I appreciate it." The boy slipped off the couch, glancing back to Verdant for a second to smile at him shyly before turning back to Aoi so as to follow the essentic. He'd definitely feel much better once he'd washed all the sweat off himself. Then he and the others could resume hanging out again!

Aoi calmly stood in place, clothes in hand, as Shade apparently went through some sort of memory sequence, judging from the signals the impling’s mind was giving off. Now, there’s a good question, why did the flowery Proto have clothing items, anyway? They were far too large for him, looking more like what would go on a teenage human. The answer was fairly simple. Elst had, one day, come to the realization that when Aoi eventually shifted into an Alter, he’d likely look somewhat like a teenager. As a Proto, he wore no clothes, didn’t need them. Elst doubted that shift would produce clothing, so…He felt it would be safe to do a little shopping ahead. Couldn’t have a nude flower-child running around, oh no…

Aoi snapped back to reality as Shade approached. He began to walk him over to the bathroom. You’re very welcome, Shade, it’s lucky that Dad already went shopping for some clothing for when I eventually get to be an Alter, I don’t need ‘em now, but I doubt they’ll just pop out of nowhere when I shift…heheh… Not that he was planning on wearing clothes too often, but that thought was for later. As they turned a corner in the hallway, he spoke up again. We will have to sit down and have a little one-on-one chat about whatever’s bothering you, but…maybe we can have it later, so you can enjoy yourself for now, hm? His mind bore a gentle grin at this.

He stopped at the third door down in the hallway, opening it to reveal a well-cleaned bathroom with walls the color of healthy lichen, towels a grassy green in hue. The shower, toilet, sink, and floor tiles were an eggshell white. Aoi flicked on the light, placing the clothing on the lip of the sink. The final item placed was a brand new pair of red boxer briefs, still in their packaging. He hadn’t mentioned these in the living room because, for the impling, Aoi was sure it would’ve been painfully embarrassing.

Alright, feel free to use whichever towel you want, they’re all clean, and to turn the water on in the shower, just pull the knob thing towards you for on, right for hot, and left for cold. I’ll leave you your privacy now, eh? He left, closing the door behind him. As he returned to the living room, entering telepathic range of Elst and Verdant, he got the strangest feeling, though…that something was very soon to turn out…interesting about Shade's shower. Once he figured out just who’s thoughts were causing this, however, he couldn’t help but snicker a little inwardly.

Shade nodded a bit - he supposed that answered his curiosity about the clothing. After all, Aoi didn't need them at this moment...but if they were for when he shifted form, then it made sense. He was certainly happy that Aoi had them too - he'd have to remember to wash and bring them back once he was done with them.

The impling blinked as Aoi mentioned knowing about something bothering him. He always forgot about the essentic's abilities with the mind - there seemed to be nothing that he could hide from the proto! Still...maybe talking about it really would help a bit. For now though, he wanted to concentrate on having fun with everyone; darkening the day with the topic of his school problems wasn't something that he wanted. "A-Alright."

Shade glanced around as they entered the bathroom before looking back to Aoi to listen to the instructions that he'd been given. He nodded again and waited for the proto to leave before stripping himself so that he could get into the shower. Soon, there was warm water running over his body - finally, he could get all that sweat off himself!

Verdant was going to die in this house. He was sure of it. He had completely ignored Aoi’s last bits of commentary, forcing himself to just smile wickedly at the little flower-child as he led Shade into the bathroom. He had been this close, THIS close to losing it, but they both thankfully left the room. He leaned back against the couch, his hands and vest still covering up his shame. Why, he was almost calmed down when he heard the water running. He couldn’t even stop himself from picturing the water running down Shade’s body as the impling began to soap up his-

Verdant made sure Elst wasn’t looking before booking it out of there and leaving Orpheus by himself on the couch. He rounded the corner, smiled at Aoi, and ducked inside the bathroom Shade was in. Time to show Shade his favorite thing about being a nymph…

Orpheus landed on the couch with a muffled thud before shaking his head to get rid of his daze. He glared at his older brother as he ran into the bathroom to clean up. Ha! Yeah, THAT was what he was going to do. Sure, whatever. He flew over to the pitcher and poured himself a refreshing drink; Aoi had been right, he was too hot and this drink was just what the doctor ordered. He set the pitcher down gently and began lapping up the iced tea, thoroughly enjoying the tingly sensation it left in his throat. It was deliciously sweet and he soon found himself pouring himself another cup… and another… and another...

Shade's ears flicked as he heard the sound of the bathroom door opening and closing. Had someone...just come in??? His face flushed and he took hold of the curtain, pulling it aside. He was incredibly surprised - and a little embarrassed - to see a very familiar nymph there.

"V-Verdant?" Golden eyes blinked in confusion as he hid behind the shower curtain, wondering what it was that the older male wanted. He hadn't exactly been expecting to have anyone walk in on him while he was showering. Though...the nymph had known that he was washing off and the impling figured that Verdant knew his way around the house so...had he come in intentionally? A thought crossed his mind and the blush hidden beneath his fur grew deeper - but Verdant wouldn't be coming in for something like /that/, right? "Is...s-something w-wrong?"
