As Nils was bombarded by the crowd, FD lost track of him for but a minute before locating him once again. He made eye contact with the bard and smiled. Pushing his way through the herd of Learanians, he closed the distance between the two until he was by the bard's side. "Kaoru!" he greeted Nils, embracing him for a moment. "This celebration is just wonderful! Although I hope you didn't have to work too hard to prepare it. Is there anything you want to do?" FD admired the bard and thought to himself how surprised Nils would be at what FD had in store for him at some point, and hopefully happy.

After trying to knock the pins down, Isadora felt a push from the back. Turning around to tell the person not to be in the rush, she stopped just to see something huge walking past by.

Seeing the red scales walked pass, Isadora noticed that it was the Fire Dragon. Unlike the Fire Dragons she fought back in Elibe, this dragon was friendly and was nice to their bard, Nils.

Understood why people were pushing back, Isadora tried to squeeze through the crowd to find the others and maybe playing another booth.

Nils, quickly flipping the microphone off, returned FD's embrace. "Hikaru! I'm glad you like it!" He continued to grin. "It took a while to get all the lights up, but it really wasn't too difficult! As for anything I'd like to do? Uhm..." The bard paused for a moment. What did he want to do? He wasn't even sure. There was so much to do that he couldn't even choose just one thing! "... Anything's alright with me, Hikaru." He finally replied.

Nino walked silently through the streets, glancing around at all the party goers. She giggled up at Ganon a bit, but passed without speaking to him. She sat quietly on a bench. Glancing up around her, she saw Nils and the Fire Dragon together. She saw Aidan and Blossom. She smiled to herself. Even though the people of this town were all from different places, different worlds even, they found love, they found happiness, and they had a home. She sighed. "If only Rath were here." She muttered to herself.

Leon rolled his eyes at the statement. Chickenwire still kind of gives me funny looks, though. "That 'un does that to all our recruits. I dunno if he's tryin' to scare 'em into obeyin' us, or just tryin' to drive 'em away..."

To be honest, he too thought that Chickenwire's gazes were a bit harsh... even despite his experience. The knight all the while had no idea what to make of Jin. He never met him before. "Hello there, sir." he said, the only formal speech left after 7 years of street accents rolling around his ears. "My name is Leon... I'm a Lieutenant of the Watch."

"Um..." Sue smiled, it being her first time seeing Jin as well. She bowed politely. "And I'm Sue of the Kutolah... daughter of the crewmember Rath. It's a pleasure... sir..." she got up from bowing in a moment's notice.

[Jin's still a Priest. Borderline promote, but still Priest class for reasons which may be explained later.]

Jin paused for a second to think about that. She had a point... after everyone had been cured of the "corruption illness", nobody among the medical ranks had seen many women. Charice, a Pegasus Knight of the Watch, had been the only exception, and she and another man were only there to bring in a much larger man. Ghis had been healed up nicely, sure, but the blow he took to his right armpit had still thrown the muscles in that arm off-balance, having deteriorated and regrown so drastically in so short a time. He could wield an axe again at some point, but as of now, his arm was still too weak to be carrying any heavy weapons like that.

"You'll do fine," he assured Amelia, his eyes softening to betray a smile behind his mask. "If what Rhys says about your strength and courage are true, you'll do fine.

Speaking of said Bishop," he added, "He's not here right now. You know how it is with illness and injury."

He rubbed the back of his head, feeling a bit awkward. He'd just now realized that Rhys knew these people better than he did--it felt a bit wrong to be out here when Rhys was still stuck inside...
But the feeling passed. Rhys had felt the same way, after all.

He looked up as the others introduced themselves.

"Leon and Sue... got it! I'm Jin, Rhys' second-in-command of the medical crew," he said, bowing to the duo. "Wait... Leon? Lieutenant Leon? Oh! Your leg's doing fine, right? You seem to be walking okay."

{Too lazy to switch accounts...}

Victoria overheard news of one of her fellow bishops, Rhys. She couldn't help but eavesdrop, the conversation was right there behind her to listen to after Nino's speech got done. The rest of the crew weren't talking... she was surprised.

Pleasantly surprised to see all the love around her. "Rhys is still on duty? Why... I requested off today. I do hope it's not my fault..."

"I don't think its yer doin' Miss." Leon answered her with a polite tone as possible. "That Rhys... he's a hard-workin' healer. He wouldn't take a break even if they asked 'im, I bet." His attention shifted to Jin after he asked about the Lieutenant's own injury. "My leg? 'Tis fine now. Had some good healin' time. I can ride Anri again if I need."

"It sounds like him." Sue chuckled to herself, thinking of how much harder Rhys worked than any of them... the Host Club, the healers... he outdid them in the diligence department for sure. She envied his dedication, almost. "Amelia... maybe we should pay him a visit then. Make him take a break."

FD looked around for things that Nils might enjoy, unsure if he'd be happy with anything FD picked... And then caught a glance at a shishkabob stand where you the customers seemed to be able to decide what they wanted on their skewers. It looks like they had a large variety of items to try. "Well, would you like to grab something to eat first, maybe?" FD smiled at the bard, "My treat."

[[Ahhh. All right.]]

Amelia gave a one-shouldered shrug and adjusted her grip on her spear. Chickenwire definitely was a hard man to read, but he didn't seem to have anything truly against her, so Amelia wasn't too worried. Just as long as he kept that damn piano wire away from her throat.

She nodded once to Jin as he spoke up, relaxing. The Watch was male-dominated, but it wasn't sexist. And knowing that Rhys had been talking about her... her heart warmed a little. It was good to know someone thought that well of her own abilities.

Amelia nodded to Jin again, thinking of how hard Rhys had to work as the leader of the medical crew. There were a lot of injured and sick people around town, even when things hadn't gone to hell in a handbasket. Normal injury, normal illness, that sort of thing. She let her thoughts drift to the two of them until Sue's words snapped her from her reverie.

"Hm? Well, he's probably off on a house call... I don't know where he'd be if he's not in his headquarters."

"Ah, I see." Sue nodded, thinking of what to do next. Her Lord was working himself too hard, and she knew it. There must be something she could do. "We'll... leave a message behind then in his office."

"Yes, tell him to meet us?" Victoria asked. "What a splendid idea. If only he'd accept. Then again, if I could get someone to take over for me, then surely..."

Aidan Cheverell

PostPosted: Mon Jun 01, 2009 10:45 am

"Er, hi, Lance!"

Aidan rubbed his nose gingerly--Lance had made him land on his face. He was lucky he hadn't broken anything; sure, Blossom had done that once before, too. But she wasn't a fully grown man, she was a compact little loli swordswoman. Which REALLY made all the difference.

He felt the grip on his arm grow a bit tighter and glanced down at Blossom. "I-I was!" He pointed at the stuffed...whatever it was. The booth's owner snickered.

"So, kid," the man said, "you're gonna play? You gotta pay." He held out his time-worn, calloused hand; Aidan deposited a pair of gold coins into his palm.

"I have to shoot this into the targets, right?" asked Aidan, rolling between his fingers the feathered red dart that the man had traded for his coins. Five more lay on the counter in a neat row, ready to be launched at the wall behind the man.

He nodded his balding head. "Yup. Get a bullseye and you win."

Ninian stood towards the back of the crowd, not wanting to get crushed. She had not known that so many people were even in Learania, but everyone was celebrating the third anniversary. She smiled gently to herself. She hadn't been in Learania for all three years, but she had been here for a good bit of that.

Cheerfully applauding Nino's speech, she laughed to see the microphone placed in the hands of her little brother. As the crowd dispersed to go enjoy the celebration, Ninian made her way down the streets, just looking. She found an out-of-the-way spot, a place to sit and watch the people pass by.

Without warning, everything went fuzzy. Shaking her head and rubbing an eye, Ninian didn't have to wonder what had happened.

I wish I could get more sleep, she thought. Then this would not keep happening to me. . . .

Amelia considered this. If they left a message, they could depart and wait for him somewhere. "Well, if I write up a message, Sue, could you drop it off there? Since you have a horse, you can arrive there and back much faster than I could. And I don't have any experience riding a horse."

Blossom smiled wide and leaned against his arm, careful to have not claimed his dominant arm. "Good luck!" she chirped, looking over to the dartboard with curious eyes. Would he get it? She sure hoped so...

"I could run it up, yes." Sue nodded. "What do you want it to say? Do you want it to be from all of us or... ... you personally?" That question was very important, after all.

"It depends on what he's gonna take more seriously." Leon commented, a smirk now forming solidly across the right side of his face. "If he'd take a breather for 'is comrades, or just 'is... fiancee." Upon the last word, the Lieutenant winked.

"How rude of you." Victoria rolled her eyes at the former nobleman, not believing his history that she heard of for a second. He was an Archanean soldier once? No way. "The message shall be from all of us... his friend, his former patient, his fellow bishop, and his lover."

No one could tell if Victoria or Leon's comments were worse.

Amelia thought this over. "Just tell him that he can stand to take at least an hour away from work to spend time with us... mention who's being referenced. You, Leon, Victoria, and I."

Victoria's interruption, following Leon's comment, made Amelia's face turn bright red. "We-Well," she started, then fell silent. They hadn't actually done anything like that yet; Renault was likely to come after Rhys with a rusty carving knife if they tried to consummate their relationship before the marriage ceremony.

"Ju-Just tell him that we want him to be here, at least for a little while. Please?" Amelia asked Sue once she'd calmed sufficiently.
