"A storm eh?" said Vera with a twinkle in her eyes, "What a lot of fun! It's been too long since we had one last, and well, we need the water." By the look on her face she made it no secret why the idea of a storm excited her. She loved the energy and action that a thunderstorm provided. Before she let her mind drift too far off she asked, "What kind of storm?"

Elizabeth nodded and smiled. She too loved storms. They were beautiful and dangerous, and exciting. "Yes, from what I could tell, thunder, lightning, and a light drizzle of rain. Less of a downpour, but more than a sprinkle. You love storms," it was a statement that came out sounding like a question.

Selenium smiled sheepishly. She didn't like storms; it wasn't because she was afraid of them, but because it messed around with her flying. Gliding on the air currents of wide open, blue sky with the sun warming her wings was the best. But a storm. . Well it made her feel frazzled, and gave her skin a weird electric tingling sensation she could live without. "Rain? It shouldn't be too bad then. I'd rather it only be rain and thunder though," she shrugged eating the last bit of her fish.

"You know I've never seen a twister before," said Vera with a daring smile, "They'd be incredable to see at a great distance. I don't think we get them often on the island though because it is too close to the sea." She daintly stripped all the fish meat off the pure white bones.

When the new arrivals left, Nasuada caught herself pouting. She had meant to introduce herself, but had found herself tongue-tied, and as a result she had lost her opportunity. Shrugging off her disappointment, she cast her eyes about, and gave a soft call when she realized that her familiar had yet to make an appearance.

“ Vervada!”

Ears perking up, the gray Chureep hurriedly hopped in the direction from which she had heard her owner’s voice. Bouncing into the clearing, she gave an excited squeak upon recognizing Isis.

Meanwhile, Carre’s attention had shifted from the blue P’an-Lun to her companion’s sister. Sauntering over, she gave the Painter-equivalent of a lopsided smile.

“ We-ell, ‘ello dere! You must be young miss Isis, if I do recall co-rectly. I've heard of ya and the rest of you lot from ya pa’.”

Elizabeth gave an equally daring smile, "Oh that sounds like fun. Just imagine feeling that air near us, like it's going to suck you in at any moment. What a party that'd be," she paused to lick the bones clean, "We'll have to search for a twister one of these days. Or find someone who knows when there will be one," she chuckled then glanced at Selenium. "You okay? You look a little sick."

"Don't mind me, I'm fine," she gave a wry smile. "A twister would be an awesome expierence! Mother nature in all her raging beauty," Selenium felt the flittering butterflies leave her stomach and took a deep breath through her nose. "So Vera, what other things do you think would be cool to see?" she asked with pure curiosity.

Isis turned her bright eyed attention from the gray chureep to Carre' with a friendly smile. "Why my friend you're absolutely correct, and you must be the famous Vieux Carre’ I've heard about. You trade right? Does that mean you two travel a lot as well?"

Vera smiled,"I would love to see many things, beautiful things. I have a few things I've always wanted to see but never could. At the bottom of crater lake there's supposed to be a hot springs. You know what I've really aways wanted to see though? The northern lights." Vera shifted her weight a little and scooped up the remaining fish in her jaws. "Lets head back to the others. And sorry Selenium for making you uncomfortable." She leapt into the air but hovered a bit waiting for her companions.

Selenium smiled and nodded, "Oh the hot springs! I've heard about them but I've never considered to look for them. If we all end up meeting again, we should go to the hot springs." She then pictured the northern lights in her mind. Others had told her stories of the beautiful lights, but she didn't like the cold. "Really it's no problem, I'm fine," she said flapping her wings. Dust flew into the air as she took to the skies with her friends.

Elizabeth listened intently, then glided from the ground into the air. Joining Vera's side she said, "If you go to North during winter time here, you can in fact see the Northern lights almost every night around midnight. They're extravagant indeed. I've seen then once."

"Once, when was that?" asked Vera. Vera was intrigued with Elizabeth's vast amount of knowledge. She noticed that Selenium didn't share her adventurous spirit. To reassure Selenium Vera gave her a little nudge on the shoulder. She continued to fly with her companions up the side of the canyon. Vera could see to the south dark storm clouds beginning to gather where a half an hour before there were clear skies. "Selenium, look the storm is coming," said Vera seriously.

Elizabeth nodded and smiled. "I saw them while I was visiting the North Pole. My friend Selene is a permateen aviadracus and she told me I absolultely had to come and see them. She lives anywhere it's cold and she prefers the North," her long body rippled once like a wave until it pciked up a nice air current to glide on. "Maybe this winter you could come with me. Both of you can."

Selenium glanced at Vera, as she nudged her, with a blank expression. She'd been spacing out for a moment, then quickly put on a small smile. "Well if your friend loves the cold, then I know I can learn to," her smiled grew wide and reached her eyes. "It is quite a beautiuful view to expierence. I've heard the white of the snow even catches glimpses of the colors," she then noticed the dark clouds ahead and gulped, "I'll be fine as long as I'm with ya'll," she drawled. "Don't worry," Selenium gave a small reassuring smile then peered ahead of them.

Elizabeth drew closer to the two, "I won't leave. I'm only worried about my familiar, she may be taking refuge in a small cave," quickly she scanned the skies. It wasn't too bad yet. "Selene even looks like the Northern Lights. I'll let her tell you why, it's interesting really. There's only a handful of them."

"sure i'd love to hear the story," said Vera, "Alos we better find some shelter and warn the others before the storm gets too close. Would you like to find your familiar? It would be best before the storm that the two fo you are together." Vera almost seemed to glow not only from her excitement from the storm but also that oppornunity she might have in viewing the northern lights.

((Sorry I forgot about this. I've been incredibly busy with coloring))

Elizabeth nodded and smiled, "Camilla loves the storms, she'll watch it from a cave or hollow log," she shrugged. Although she seemed relaxed about the thought, really it made her worry even more. "You guys can go warn the others. . .I'm actually going to go find her, my familiar that is. I'll meet with you guys back at the canyon," Elizabeth waved a quicj good bye and veered off to the left. She wasn't that far from the forest and had a feeling Camilla would likely be there.

Selenium waved a bye back, then picked up speed. "Wow, even if the storm isn't that close yet, I still can feel the static. It feels like I'm swimming through mud."

"Ya, right there with you," she shivered from the tingling running up and down her spine spikes. It looked as though some of the painters who were there earlier had taken cover. For those who were left Vera yelled, "TAKE COVER FROM THE STORM." Trotting over to rock overhang she plopped herself down. "Do normally feel the tingles before a storm?" she asked Selenium.

Selenium followed Vera over to the rock overhang, laying down with her tail swishing back and forth. "Yes, it gets better later. It's weird though, usually after the storm you feel energetic and ready to do just about anything. I once asked a Pan Lun why that was, and he told me it was because of the particles in the air. They get charged and cling to the skin of Painters. After the storm, the particles are less charged and don't make you feel as tingly," she paused to take a deep breath. Selenium also tried to remember as much as she could, "If I remember right, since the charged particles lose energy, after they've clung to you, it releases the energy into your body. Hence the sudden energetic feeling." She gave small smile, "It's confusing. Like one big cycle."

"That really makes a lot of sense," Vera said with an excited laugh, "Now I know why I get so bouncy around storms. Sounds like a wise P'an- Lun. What is their name? I might no them." Vera curled her long brown tail around her ankles and arched her neck. Her green eyes glowed in the shade of the overhang. "What was your childhood like?" she sighed.

Selenium smiled and laughed with her friend. "I guess it does. His name? I'm not sure, he never said. He found me huddling in a hollowed out log during a storm that happened a few months back," she tensed some as she admitted to being a scaredy cat, even if she didn't come out and say it. "My childhood seems like only yestdarday. With my brother and sisters running around outside the cave, chasing each other and playing. My mom lounging inside, watching us and making sure we're all right. I actually wasn't one to play, I liked staying with my mom. Oddly, I grew up pretty quick. My father would go out and hunt our next meal, sometimes I'd come with him." Selenium had her eyes closed, as she lolled her head lazily on her legs. Her tail curled around her with the tip resting across her nose.
"You could say it was a happy one," she smiled and opened one eye to peer up at Vera. "How was yours?"
