Yep I am guilty. Sakuraso...our story is similar but I was the ruiner and not ruinee.
So right after I finshed the 6th book (15 hours after it came out) I logged on to msn and I changed my name to "SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE" hoping that a certain someone would see and went on to surfing.
Then to my horror my best friend who never is online Ims me and got all mad at me. I said I didn't mean to ruin it for you! I meant it for some one else! You're never one line! And after that I changed my name to something else and she has yet to forgive me... cry

Of course I did it! The idiot was complaining about how he didnt know what the endings were, because the books were so long he couldnt read them! And he was talking about the FIRST 3!!!!! He is a senior, he has read at least 10 books longer than them. He also said he was just going to sparknote them. WTF??? so i said 'o, dont bother. in the first book....ect.' and told him everything in five seconds.

Only because my friend called me the day after I finished HBP and was to lazy to read the book herself.
I spent about two hours retelling it to her and reading specific lines. I cried when I had to explain about Dumbledore.
But she asked for it.
Oh yeah, and my entire family, but they don't read the books, and were wondering why I was in black and crying.

i ruined the rnding twice... i was at school and most of the people havent read the books, and i was talking to someone i THOUGHT had read the books...but had only seen the movies... so of course i had to go and ruin the ending by saying... 'I CANT BELIEVE SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE!' and almost my entire class heard...some of them didnt speak to me for a while...
the second time i ruined it was entirley my friends fault...she asked me to tell her, then told me not to...then asked me to tell her again... in the end i got annoyed a told her sirius died...

I most likely have... I talk about the books all the time so I may have had things slip around my friend who is still reading the 6th book.

I haven't ruined an ended but I would joke around with my sister saying things that did not happen in the book. It's fun to see her panic when she doesn't know what happened

Never. I work at a bookstore, and when my coworker and I talk about it, we make sure that we use codenames, such as 'The Couple' for Tonks and Lupin, since theres so many couples, and 'Rapier' for Fred, so as to not spoil it for anyone. We even got to learning and using middle names.
I just don't see what kind of satisfaction anyone gets from spoiling a book for someone else.

I walk around the school with 'Snape Killed Dumbledore' on my sketchbook... if they cared, they'd have read the book by now.
