"Not a problem," he stated and closed the door after she was in. Making sure Aria was settled in to the back, he slid in next to Nastara and grinned again. "Hello there! Long time no see, huh?" He thought better of kissing her paw again in front of the kits and Emerald and turned his head so as to see Jasper. "Hey there little man! And that would depend on where 'there' is..."
Aria blinked once at Asher's final statement before replying, "We'll never be there because once we're there it will actually be here."

Jasper stared in awe at Aria " Whoa, are you like, smart!?!"
Nastara stiffled a laugh in her paw and greeted Asher "Glad we made it here on time, I got a bit sidetracked in the kitchen. Though I think everyone will enjoy the lunch I packed...."
As Nastara trailed off Jasper whispered conspiritorially to Aria " She nearly forgot the cookies" as though it was the greatest sin anyone could ever commit.

Aria paused for a moment before replying, "I don't really know..." She then smiled when he mentioned the cookies before whispering back, "I love cookies!"
"I'm positive we all will if you packed it!" Asher responded unhesistantly. "And it would have been fine if you were running late. It's understandable. And besides, we didn't set an exact time in the first place," he assured her.

Smiling at Aria, Jasper decided that this new girl couldn't be too bad if she loved cookies "Auntie makes great cookies, you'll be even more in love with cookies!"
At hearing that all the Illumen were occupied and checking that everyone was buckled Em quietly put the car into gear and headed towards the park.
Nastara looked down, hiding behind her hair " yeah, I guess I was just a bit eager to get on the way, I suppose."

Aria tilted her head slightly before questioning, "She's REALLY that good of a cook? I thought Asher was just exaggerating!"
Asher smiled shyly, glad to have heard that. 'Well, who wouldn't be eager to go on a picnic on such a beautiful day?" he asked her.

Solemly Jasper shook his head "She really is the best! She can even make BROCCOLI taste good!"
Taking a deep breath Nastara decided to be a bit daring and turned to look into the eyes she was developing such a fondness for, " Its more than just the picnic that had me flustered, I dare say it had more to do with company."

Aria's eyes widened. "But... broccoli is... GREEN... Green stuff can taste good?" She was quite confused.
Asher's smile lit up his entire face. "I dare say nothing should get a beautiful lady like you flustered! I'm honored you were looking forward to the company of Aria and me."
Aria looked over when she heard her name, but seeing the two older Illumens engrossed in eachothers' eyes she decided to ignore it.

Nodding in sympathy Jasper smiled "Its very strange, but it does when she gets her paws on it. And if she can make green taste good, imagine what she can do with cookies!"
Blushing Nastara tried to think past the butterfly's raving in her stomach at the sight of his smile. Thankfully she was saved by Emerald cheerfully announcing that they'd reached the park.

Aria quickly becomes bouncy, even more so once she hears they're there/here. "What first? What do we get to do first?"
Asher gazed for a few seconds at Nastara before turning around to Aria. "Well, first we get out of the car." He turns back around and thanks Em for the ride before turning one last time towards the purple illumen. "Shall we?" He gets out of the car and hustles over to Nastara's door to open it for her before getting the kits out and grabbing the blanket, toys, and picnic basket to carry. "Will Miss Em be joining us today?"

"PLAY TIME!!!" Jasper shouted shaking with excitement waiting for the door to open so he could dash out.
"Not today Asher, I've got some errands to run and though I'd take advantage of not having Jasper for awhile. I'll be back in a few hours, Nastara, you have my number if you guys need me! With a smile and a wave Em closed up the car and headed off.
Nastara quickly rounded up the kits and pointed them off towards the play ground, admonishing them to stay where they could see the adult Illumen.
"Well, where shall we set things up? I think we'd better let the kits play and burn off some energy before lunch....."

Asher nods to Em, saying maybe another time she could join them. He watches the kits bound off, Aria almost tripping over her own feet while trying to run. He smiled to himself before looking at Nastara.
"Hmmm... there's a nice partial shade spot by that tree," he pointed out, motioning towards a grassy area with random little flowers. "And yes, them burning off energy before asking them to sit still is a great idea. And thank you, again, for accompanying Aria and I. She could really use to get out more, as could I. And there's no one better to spend a day with than you! And I do believe Jasper and her will get along well."

Dashing full out for the play ground Jasper immediately set about going head first down the twisty slide as quickly as he could.
Nodding, Nastara headed to the spot Asher indicated. " Well as I've mentioned before I don't get out much either, and though I'm sure you must have several other ladies after your attentions, I am flattered that you'll take time for me. And I must admit, I'm quite curious to see if Aria can keep up with Jasper, he's never had anyone his age to play with."

Aria, slightly dazed at seeing how fast he was moving, ran to the bottom of the slide in attempts to pounce on him before he could notice.
Asher walked with her. "I haven't noticed any other ladies though... and she has a fair chance, considering when I got home I noticed several pieces of taffy were missing. She gets riled up on sugar. To the point where she'll stay awake twice as long as normal and won't remain quiet unless she gets activity." When they reached the spot, he set the basket and toys down and started to spread out the blanket, anchoring it down with a few small rocks he found nearby incase of wind. "So what did you pack?" he inquired.

Nastara stumbled slightly at hearing Asher's response to her off hand comment. She'd been trying to see if she was reading too much into the handsome Illumen's attentions. And apparently she was. Straightening up she pulled her manner's about her like a suit of armor. " Oh, not much, I decided to just pack the fixings, I thought the kids might enjoy directing me to make their sandwiches so they are to their liking. I also brought some of the lemonade, some cookies, chips, goldfish, and such. You're welcome to look. I believe I'll go keep an eye on the kits, if you'll excuse me please?"
Holding her head up high Nastara did her best to walk gracefully towards the playground, determined to not make a fool of herself.

Asher became dumbfounded, entirely unaware of why Nastara acted as she did so suddenly. She seemed very open to him before. He knew that she would have no reason to watch the kits, as they were easily within eyesight. He started rewinding his actions and words, trying to figure out what changed; He cancelled out the rocks and didn't see any offense in mentioning Aria and her sugar reactions... that meant it must have been how he mentioned he didn't notice any other females, but he failed to see what was wrong with his statement. Smiling very nervously, he knew screwed up. He knew he should have thought more before he spoke.
Without checking the basket, he moved it under a more heavily shaded spot on the blanket to keep it from warming up. He walked slowly, trying to catch up with Nastara. If she didn't actually like him like him, he still wanted to be friends. He managed to stumble out, "Na...Nastara... ummm, are you alright?" His level of nervousness was rising rapidly, as much as he tried to stay calm.
