Irissë bobbed a graceful curtsy before entering, "Thank you kind sir." she couldn't help but smile widely. Entering the house, she nodded, her feelings correct. The air gave an air of hospitality and warmth, she tiptoed her way to the kitchen obediently.

Aubrey followed her inside with a skip in his step. He was nearly as excited as Irisse seemed to be.
The kitchen had counters lining every wall. There was a cellar door in a corner and cupboards lining two walls. An island on wheels was pushed against a round table. It was all clean save for a couple dishes on a dry rack.
He set the herb basket on the island, walking over to a wash bin and cleaning his arms. "There are a big mixing bowl and some pie pans under the counter with the knife rack on it. Would you get two of each out?"
(( I really don't know how to make apple pie, so things are going to turn vague here soon XD ))

Irissë followed suit, bending down to wash her hands, she nodded, "Alright." drying her hands, she walked over to the counter taking out the needed supplies. "I'll just leave them here?" she gestured to the island.
((I can't cook for the life of me. All I know is that apple pie contains apples xDD))

Aubrey nodded. "In the cellar is a basket up apples. You can bring that up and cut them into slices. I'll get started on the pie crusts." He pulled out his needed ingredients and utensils and he fell into his rythem, no move or bit off food wasted nor dropped.

Irissë nodded, her hooves clicking on the wooden floor.
Upon entering the cellar, she was surprised to see the sheer amount of food that Aubrey had stored. "I wonder if one person could eat all this by themselves..." she said aloud before walking over to a small basket and picking out the choiciest apples. Taking about six, the cervi walked back up, piling them neatly next to Aubrey. "Six is good enough?" she asked briskly.

Aubrey smiled. "Yep! The apples were big this year." He showed her how to slice the apples before returning back to the crust. Soon, he had it lining the pie tin. "Now for the filling." He said to himself, going in search of more ingredients. "Sugar!" He said with a wink, holding up a bag. He remembered back when he hadn't had sugar...

"Must've been a good harvesting season for the farmers." she said cutting them neatly. "Do we just dump the sugar onto the apples?" cooking wasn't Irissë's forte. Growing up in a rich household meant one had servants to cook and clean for her. She smiled wryly, imagining her mother's face if she had found out her only daughter was cooking.

Aubrey shook his head. "First we're going to make a sugary syrup. It won't be much. We'll put a bit of extra sugar on top of the pie when we finish." He took one of the bowls and poured the sugar and syrup necessities into it, mixing it all together with a wooden spoon until it was thick. "Now in go the slices. Care to do that?"

"Of course." she took the apple slices one by one dropping them into the bowl. "Thankfully the syrups so thick it doesn't splatter when we put them in." Irissë smiled, before popping a slice into her mouth. She looked at him sheepishly when she was done, "I couldn't resist...they looked too good." She held another slice up for him, "You should have one too."

Aubrey laughed. "Why thank you. "Plucking the apple slice and chewing it thoughtfully, he started scooping the sugary mess into the pie crust. Then another layer of crust went on top of that. He cut two lines into the top, then sprinkled a little more sugar over it. "And now we bake."
After that was set, he went down the cellar and returned with a can of peaches. "Care for a bite first? The pie will take a while." He sat down, keeping a careful eye on the fire.

Irissë watched Aubrey make the pie, trying to remember the steps. She noticed the pie was made of two separate crusts, and there was a lot of fruit and sugar in the filling. She supposed that was so that it would taste wonderful.
"Peaches?" her eyes went big like a child at Christmas. "I haven't had peaches in forever. I would love to take a bite first." she ate a tiny piece, savoring the sweetness. "Childhood memories." she said, content.

Smiling at her excitement, he took his own savory bite of peach. Aubrey canted his head. Childhood memories? "If I may pry, what are these memories?" He asked as he poured the rest of the peaches into a clay bowl and set it on the table.

"You want to hear of my memories?" she had an amused look on her face, "Well, if you really want to." Irissë took another bite before starting.
"When I was growing up, I remembered every summer the cook in our house would make peach cobbler for us. It was wonderful really. She would give us so much to eat that all we tasted for the next days were peaches." Irissë propped up her elbows on the table, resting her head on her hands, "I would always watch her make it in the kitchen, and the aroma. It was so..." she drifted off, closing her eyes.

Aubrey blinked slightly in suprise. They had a special cook? Then he smiled, his mind already moving on from that. "Maybe I should be making a peach pie instead of apple." He said as he popped another.

Irissë shook her head politely, "No, no. I'm very excited for apple pie. I love to try new things." she smiled, her violet eyes dancing, "Please don't think too much on it. I am already grateful that you offered to make some for me."
"I told you about my favorite childhood memory." she said, taking another small bite, "Isn't it fair you tell me about yours? It's not fair to just take you know." Irissë looked at him, asking him to tell.
