Faolan pulled back and looked at her with a grin, wiggling one ear. "Long as mine, were they?" Okay, so she had him curious now and figured he wasn't going to be able to get her in the mood so long as her mind was on her ears and her mother.

Ellandra giggled a little when Faolan wiggled an ear at her. Silly fortune-teller. "Maybe even a bit longer, I'm not sure - I just have her portrait to go by, after all. . . but narrow. Very narrow. . ."

"Really? Hm, she sounds fae of some sort. Did you make sure to list the portrait among the things you wanted brought from your apartment? I want to see it now," Faolan said, ears moving to lay back a bit as he got up from the bed and went to locate where her belongings that hadn't been unpacked were being stored in their little home.

Ellandra nodded, yawning a bit again and resisting her body's insistence that she rest like she'd originally planned to do when she came home. "Yes... I'm not sure where it would have been put, though, I should have given it more priority or something, I suppose," she murmured softly as she got to her feet to help Faolan search for the portrait.

Faolan found the portrait wrapped in brown parcel paper and tucked safely behind the couch. "Here it be, love." He set it up on the couch and unwrapped it, then settled back on his haunches, sitting on the floor, and gave a low whistle. "Oi, your mother was a right mazer with the looks, lass. I see where you get your own pretty from."

Ellandra blushed lightly and brushed her hair back over her ears - she'd forgotten to do so a minute ago. Taking a seat on the floor next to Faolan, she snuggled up to her husband and stared at the picture of the woman who she had no memory of. "I wish I knew . . . well, anything about her," sh said quietly, with a bit of a wistful sigh at the end of her sentence. "Do you know, though. . . I wasn't curious about her at all for so long. . . I should have been, I suppose, but I wasn't."

"Ain't nothing wrong with that, lass. I never thought much on my own birth parents growin' up. Weren't even till recently that I knew which of them was the demon. Still got no idea why they didn't want me, though," Faolan said quietly. He didn't sound like it bothered him, but there was a soft look in his eyes he always seemed to have when thinking of them. Looking at Ellandra, he pointed out the ears in the portrait. "She's definitely of some fae stock."

Ellandra scooted closer to Faolan and wrapped her arms around him, sighing softly. "Well, whatever reason your parents left you. . . I want you." In more ways than one, though she wasn't going to say that much. "Was she?" she asked. She didn't know much about the fae people, her father had kept her away from anything that would give her information on them.

Faolan hugged her back, kissing the top of her head. "Thanks, love." He looked back at the portrait. "I seen enough fae about the carnival to know what they look like, but I don't really know much about them. You might ask Da. I think he was friends with a few in his younger days . . . back when people still lived in caves and hunted mammoths."

"Later, perhaps," Ellandra said, biting back another sleep yawn. "When I'm working and if I can get him to look away from the newspaper for long enough." She had gone from hugging Faolan to more or less leaning against him, the tiredness that had gotten her to come home early taking its toll on her yet again. "Mmm......"

Ellandra nodded, beginning to go limp against him. "Mmhmm...." She murmured in response to his question.... what had that been again? She'd already forgotten. And she was comfortable, and drowsy, and.... mmmm.... what, again?

"La, wife, it's a wonder you got home," Faolan chuckled, lifting her up as he stood. He carried her back to their bedroom, once again laying her down on the bed, then stretched out beside her. "Worries me some to see you so tired like this."
