Earl Gray is fine with her. Nusumu usually drinks it with milk and sugar, but if there is none, black is also fine. She doesn't really need more sugar anyway, if they are to be having dessert.
Are there plates that Nusumu can use? She brought a cake server with her, since it is not a common utensil and preferable to a knife, but figured that most households have plates.
She opens the box but does not slice it yet, in case Hitsuga wants to take a look at the cake before it is cut.

He is afraid that he doesn't have milk or sugar, no... feelings of embarrassment flitter about him nervously. He really needs to take a day, in the very near future, and equip his home properly for entertaining guests...
It is quite a contrast, he admits with a chuckle as he prepares the tea for them....back home, his only visitor, really, was his sister.
Amidst doing that, he opens the cupboard a second time, fetching down two cups and two plates. He does, at least, have cutlery and plates. And that's something...

It's really alright. Nusumu has learned not to expect all kitchens to be stocked the same way as hers. If he needs a hand with the shopping though, that is one thing that she might be able to help with.
Only one visitor? It doesn't sound like much, but then, she doesn't exactly get many visitors either. Usually it's just a woman that Nusumu can't stand, and some of her children. Her apartment is not really suited for receiving guests, which may be why she brings food with her when she goes visiting.
It's a very good start, she agrees, looking for her cake server. It isn't in the box, but she's sure she brought one. It must be in her basket, she realizes, and heads back to the front room.
The box remains open, the contents one chocolate Bundt cake, drizzled with caramel sauce and sprinkled with dark chocolate shavings.

Eying the cake, recognizing the smell that emanates from it to be the same smell of cocoa that had emanated from the chocolate strawberries Melody had brought several days ago, Hitsuga opens the cupboard once more, retrieving this time a box of lactaid tablets and popping one out of its foil to swallow before Nusumu returns.
He is not eager to add 'getting ill' to his schedule for the evening, after all...
That business taken care of, the tea is then poured carefully into the two cups and....cutlery. They'll need that too, he supposes, pulling open a drawer to fish out a pair of forks.
....he THINKS that covers everything... sweatdrop

After a few moments Nusumu returns to the kitchen, basket in one hand, ornate silver-ish cake server in the other. She sets the basket on the floor by the door and promptly begins slicing the cake.
Would he like a big slice or a small slice? Nusumu will only have a little, since she is not very hungry, but Hitsuga is welcome to have as much as he wants- on the condition that he tell her what he thinks of it. While the basic recipe is old, Nusumu is tweaking it, and she isn't entirely certain how it will taste to others.
So it is really less of a gift and more of a favor, but she hopes he won't mind too much. sweatdrop

He will have a small piece as well, as he is afraid he's eaten not too long ago. sweatdrop
But, he quickly amends, he does not mind at all. And he is sure its perfectly fine. Having said so, he moves to place the teacups on the table that currently lingers between the storefront and the kitchen while the house is still taking on its final arrangement of things, and....
....
right. He quickly excuses himself to the workroom quickly to retrieve the other chair as he had for Rika the night before.
He will invest in a third chair soon. He promises...

Although slightly disappointed, Nusumu cuts another small slice and places each one on a plate. With a bit of a sad look, she eyes the rest of the cake. Perhaps if it is deemed tasty enough, Hitsuga would not mind having the rest another time, with other guests? She would really rather not take it home, since another part of the reason for bringing it with her was to have less food in the house... sweatdrop
But first they should see how it tastes. Setting the server aside, she takes the plates and forks over to the table, putting one set next to each teacup.
The house is in very good shape, she thinks, for how long he has lived there. It is only natural that he is still gathering furniture. If his house looked more like hers, for instance... well, that would be very odd indeed.
