18 is a big birthday, you can buy a bunch of naughty stuff... you can use a box crusher... you can fight in a war... but still not old enough to drink... I never understood the fact that you can die for your country, but you can't have a stiff drink. When I turned 18 I bought hentai, because I could.

I never understood the fact that you can die for your country, but you can't have a stiff drink. When I turned 18 I bought hentai, because I could. lol, yea. I'm saving my money for more important things. Why buy something when you can get it for free just by typing something in google? and yea, I never understood that either

I probably shouldn't divulge any details about what I bought "just because I could" after turning 18. sweatdrop
And I love it when people bring up the "old enough to die in a war, not old enough to drink a beer," but from what I've heard from some friends who joined the army (most of them ROTC brats from highschool), most military bases, especially active military bases in other countries, have no age-related drinking restrictions. If your 21 year old squad buddy is allowed to drink at the time, so are you. There are, of course, a lot of times when drinking in the army is forbidden, such as while on an active mission or during training, but the army gladly says that if you're willing to risk your life for the country, you can have a few drinks on them!
So, the old argument really should be, "Old enough to be drafted, not old enough to enjoy a draught as a civillian." mrgreen
