Valiant slowly went back to bed and though the days passed slowly she found no intrest in speaking with anyone but Raco. She had been half dased throughout the days she had failed to realise tomorrow would be three weeks. When her medic told her she had to keep from growling in frustration.
Val liked the medic.
So when she left val got up and started stretching, the wound felt tight, and she wanted the tingling to go away, but she could deal with it.
Dealing with raco on the other hand... and she knew somehow she was going to do what she never wanted to do.
She would have to fight Raco..
"s**t."

Raco approached with Val's breakfast, resulting to be a freshly caught bird. "T'ree weeks." he said with a smirk again setting down the food and watching Val stretch. "You look to be in good enough condition to start you're training." he said looking her over. He knew the wound was not full healed, but that's what he needed. The sooner she became numb to pain the better. If she had come completely fit to him he would have needed to injure her before she was allowed to begin training. Mindset was the most important thing.

"You t'ink you are ready to begin today?" he questioned folding his arms over his chest.

Valiant looked up to him.
She hated his timing, he was always there when she started to have doubts. And yet she wanted to please him. MEN ARE SO CONFUSING
"I suppose."
She quietly defeathered the bird and ate quickly though she tasted nothing. What if she did prove to be too weak? What if what Schmee taught her was barely enough, she wanted to be great, not midoker. Her greatest advantage was being small and quick, but even that was dulled with her wound. With those oh so wonderful thoughts she stood.
"im about as ready as I will ever be."

Raco gave a nasty grin, "For the next two days, you had need watc' every move t'at you make...You never know w'en I may just pop up!" He said circling her and making a quick move grabbing her, twisting her arms behind her and placing a kunai to her throat. "W'en I am done wit' you, you'll rival Karin." he said letting Val go.

He gave a laugh and moved away fro Val to let her get over any shock that may have come over her. She would have to learn to let nothing surprise her and to absolutely never in any way underestimate her opponent no matter their size, sex or age.

Valiant remained absolutely still. She drew in deep even breaths focusing on what Schmee had already taught her. If you struggle you hurt yourself. Being near death twice had centered the little manx.
"I nearly died for being good in battle. I never underestimate my opponent."
She pulled out her glass short swords and crouched low, going into the white zone she had created long ago in her brain, it was completely empty save for the need to survive. Move here duck doge and attack were the only words she understood in this mindset.

Raco shook his head. "No, we do not fig't t'at way. You give your opponent to muc' availability to understand 'ow you fig't, 'ow you move, and even 'ow you t'ink." he said holding out his hands and with a twitch of his wrists both held throwing stars. "Speed is t'e way we work, do not give your enemy t'e c'ance to t'ink, or even suspect w'at it is you may be up to." he said giving his wrists anotehr twitch and the stars were gone back up his sleeves.

Of course that technique was one of his own, and was highly difficult to pull off. But he would teach Val how to do it, she may have thought she was learning to defend herself, but she was here to be taught how to kill. That was their ways as assassins.

"You are not 'ere to learn to defend, you are 'ere to learn to kill."

Valiant had mix feelings about what raco had just told her. Maybe she should have thought before she managed to sign herself up for this. Well then again there was no harm in learning, its what you do with it. She straightened and tried not to get frustrated.
She would have to forget everything she had previously learned.
"Are you not defending countless cats by killing one?"
She kept her eyes fixed on raco, watched the way he flicked the stars so easily up his sleeve.
Yes, kill one save a thousand. Or at least that's what she was told.
Then her thoughts flicked to remi, and a shadow passed over her eyes.
She truly was becoming the bad guy.

Raco gave a grin, "We are t'ose of t'e night, we kill t'ose w'o 'ave not accepted our warnings to stop w'at t'ey do." he said. It was true, the never killed unless the order was given, and even then the target was always warned prior to the attack that if they did not stop their working that they would lose their life. So yes, in many ways, kill one; save a thousand.

"We Anbu, pride ourselves in t'e ability to remain 'idden, silent, and deadly. But we never by any means act wit'out a purpose. If we fig't, it is for a reason, defense of our self or our comrades. Or we fig't to eliminate a t'reat against us or ot'ers t'at are our allies." he said rolling his hand. "We aim to avoid larger confrontations, rat'er t'an go t'roug' a full battle, we prefer to...pick off t'e enemy so t'at less bloods'ed occur." he finished with a shrug...sure there was less bloodshed, but that also meant they normally killed of most of their enemy before they knew what the hell was going on.

Val nodded. for some reason she agreed with it being the robin hood cat she is. She kept her focus and folded her arms across her chest. He was going to be torturing her for the next few days, and she had asked for it. The swords were still clutched in her hands however, and somehow she knew they were going to become her best friends for a great while. She would fallow his commands, she would learn. It was what she wanted, but valiant feared that she would let the growing darkness in her find an outlet and set herself on revenge.
"I'll do what you ask."
She turned her head watching the other cats and raco from the corner of her eye.

Raco stretched, and gave a bored yawn, really what he could teach Val today wouldn't be anything of serious interest to himself, it was mainly preparing Val to be in the right mindset to be an Anbu. For the moment she was too focused on other matters within her mind to truly accept what it truly was to be an Anbu.

"Well, tonig't you will join t'e rest of us around t'e fire. We're 'aving a little fun tong't and I t'ink you could use t'e time to meet...I'll use t'e term Family." he said smirking again. They were a large group and it was needless to say that Val needed to get used to them all. That's when her training would really start. Normally they trained in groups, always made for more productive training session.

Valiant nodded trying to keep the fear out of her eyes, she knew she had to meet his people, but she didn't know it had to be this soon.
"I'll fallow you." was all she muttered after a few seconds.
Her eyes were cast downward and she played with a strand of hair. Reluctantly she looked up to raco and composed her features. She would NOT be as meek as she once was, she was different now.

Val shoved all her memories and friends to the back of her mind, she would have to start over new.

Raco nodded, "You 'ave a little w'ile yet before you need to join us. You can relax for now, and I can come and get you w'en it is time." he said tilting his head.

"You'll get used to everyone eventually. T'ey are all waiting to finally meet you." he smirked. He had let them all know that Val was joining in their ranks, and the mass majority of the Anbu were eagerly awaiting their first encounter with Valiant. "T'is event tonig't is your Welcome to our ranks." he again gave that half-smile he often gave. Val was family now, Raco would have a time explaining her to Youko later on, and he probably wouldn't hear the end of it from the cat for quite some time.

val did not know what to say... she was honored, but terrified at the same time.
She straightened and sat on the bed.
"I'll see you later then."

~~~
It had taken a bit but val found herself ready. Several knifes were on her body, and she was surprised she could fit so many with such little fabric. The last needed to be set and she would be ready. Soft thigh high boots clung to her legs and she managed to disclose both of her personal swords. A final upbraiding of her hair proved her ready to begin this adventure.
Slowly she stepped out of her clearing and looked for raco scanning the darkness.
Raco was with the others laughing around the small fire, two large fish bring cooking over the flames. Many of the females were trying to get Raco up to dance but he consistently turned each of them down. He finally stood himself up letting everyone know he needed to get Val. "I need to get Valiant, t'is was all set up for 'er and s'e's not even 'ere yet!" he said with a laugh, pulling himself away from everyone.
He approached Val scratching his head. "Sorry, t'e girls were trying to get me to dance wit' t'em." he said waving for Val to follow him back to the fire with everyone.
She nodded and fallowed him. Straightening her back, and holding her head up.. even though she refused to meet anyone's eyes.
The camp reminded her very much of a gypsy camp, but she knew better then to admit that out loud. People dancing by, everyone completely comfortable... Val felt like a complete stranger.
It would take a lot of energy to get through the night, and of course that was probably what raco wanted.
