Eli laughed outright at that, this pair were far too amusing for their own good. He gave Fao a knowing look and motioned to Kell " He drools horribly when excited." Eli'd suffered more than one soaked sock in his life from trying to get the food in Kell's bowl before saliva dripped from the dog's mouth onto his foot. It was the nature of his breed but it was still gross sometimes.

"No, can't say Zia drools, but it's like living with a really wise toddler," Fao said, pushing the Essentic's hand away finally. "Where are you from if you're just passing by?"

" Southern part of the city, out towards the edge of the safe zone, though I spend a lot of time in the wastelands." Eli gestured towards where the family lands that his home rested up were. He didn't envy Fao at the moment, he remembered having young know it all cousins once and that had been pain in the a** enough for him.
" What's this place like?" Having never been to a Carnival in his life Eli was more than little curious what it was like working for one full time.

Faolan nodded at the man's telling of where he lived, then grinned at the question of Farstep. "It's like home." Complete and utter honesty. How much the young man loved the place showed clearly in his eyes and expression.

Eli smiled a bit like that, it was good to have a place to call home that you were comfortable in, the fact that his work was truly home to Fao was ever better. " Have you been with them long?"

"Ever since they found me as a baby. Some of the ladies heard me squallin' and discovered me abandoned on some old church steps. The man that owns Farstep took me in as his own and raised me," Faolan chuckled, shrugging slightly. "They've been the only family I ever known or needed . . . well, till I met my wife-to-be."

" Ahh she new to the far step group or does she work elsewhere?" Both seemed entirely plausible to Eli. He wondered if it had been frustrating for Fao growing up knowing the people who raised him were his blood kin, then again not everyone placed a lot of value on their lineage. Either way the horned man seemed well adjusted now and to be creating a family of his own.

"She's a writer, but now she lives here, with me," Fao said, leaving out the part about his romantic kidnapping of Ellandra. "What about yourself, Eli? What do you do for work?"

" I'm an exotics hunter, I go out into the wasteland and bring down the big cats, large lizards and other native wildlife. " He grinned a bit at that, there was nothing as good as pitying yours self against a wily opponent and some of the things he and Kell hunted had damn near human intelligence he swore. "Hides get sold to the local tannery and we tend to eat the meat." Eli didn't believe in killing animals just to skin them, if they had to die so he could make a living he did his best to make sure all of the creature got used.

Faolan's eyebrows went up. "Sounds a hell of a lot more exciting than working in a carnival." Color him impressed that his new acquaintance was so interesting.

Eli shook his head " It has it's moments but I dunno I think working for a carnival would be pretty neat , I mean hell your job isn't half bad." He still didn't buy the whole familiar thing but there was nothing to say the man didn't actually have magical talent with which to perform his job.

Faolan shrugged a bit. "Nah, sometimes I make pretty good money. People buy into the fortune telling more when it's coming from a halfbreed like myself, I guess. Nights that I don't do that, I dance or do acrobatics."

" Sounds like you're pretty skilled though" Eli might be athletic but he wasn't nearly as flexible as acrobats were supposed to be. Definitely not as much as that one weird contortionist person he'd seen on the news, that was just downright creepy the way they could bend.
Kell whined softly, the dog was getting bored and hungry.

"I try," Faolan said modestly, shrugging.
He turned to look back at the carnival, ears perking up slightly at hearing his name being called. One of the roustabouts was waving for him to come along.
"Break's over, I'm afraid. They need me to help out with who knows what," Faolan said, looking back at Eli. "Come visit the carnival sometime and I'll show you around, eh?"

Eli nodded " Will do, take care." That said the man whistled at Kell and the pair were off again, headed back the way they'd come.
