Found some interesting news snippets today!

ABC on McDonalds Nugget Attack (video link)

This woman clearly has a mental illness. The video is both funny and disturbing - we all work retail, we all know this can happen to us (and at least in my case, has.)

In addition, I read two articles (here and here) on a flight attendant losing his cool after getting into an argument (which some sources say led to the attendant being hit in the head), deploying the emergency slide, and sweeping down in a flurry of swearing and tearing his uniform tie off while grabbing two beers for the road.

Hahaha, yeah. I just finished reading the one about the flight attendant from yahoo. xD

I bet what happen is passenger got up while the plane was taxi-ing, guy came over. Passenger ignores for a half a second and opens compartment. Hits attendant on the head hard. Passenger is startled and goes into defense mode. Attendant is tired and angry of shitty assed customers all day. Argue, attendant gets called a ********, and the rest is already said.

Lol they'll pinpoint what really happened, but I think it's hilarious. ******** retard passengers. And people are calling him 'psycho' and s**t. Psycho? That's ******** normal human behavior. You tell me if a customer was walking around your office or some s**t, picking up stuff and dropping it on the floor, messing s**t up, being where they're not supposed to, and then blaming you for it, that you wouldn't get angry!

Guy was smart, got the ******** off of the plane. And the grabbing the beers before getting off was hilarious. xD Would people rather have had him stay and get into a fistfight with the passenger?l

Also crazy nuggets woman obviously has mental issues and needs help.

And it said he'd been employed there 28 years, and was a model employee. That s**t piles up over time and eventually spills over.

The fact that he'd take the slide... Dude, you know they all daydream about it during those long, shitty flights with a*****e customers.

I'd totally call him a "folk hero," just like that crazy kid that was high-jacking planes recently.

This s**t isn't fake. Even as soon as 100 years from now we will be shorter as a race (or at least as americans, don't know if they're counting other people) and also fatter.

We will also start having puberty earlier. Who knows if our minds can adjust as fast as our bodies seem to be. (As soon as 400 years we could see ourselves changed completely from how we are now)

I'm not sure if it's predicted we will keep living as long or even longer somehow, however it would be interesting if we did. Earlier sexual maturity but a lifespan that was lengthened by 5-10 years, maybe more?

Are we evolving? Or are we de-evolving? Now that there is plenty of food in the world for most of us, or at least plenty of bad food, will we evolve intellectually in order to occupy ourselves?

Or are we in fact beginning to de-evolve- less need to hunt/find food is less stimulation. Who knows if tv and video games and things are stimulating us in other ways that would help aid our development.

It's possible we could de-evolve since we're fed and happy and don't need to do as much for ourselves anymore.

And again we could in fact, with longer lives, have more time to think, to create, more time for leisure, for art. Maybe our brains will develop further and we'll create awesome things.

this is all caused by hormones and pesticides and chemicals in food, childhood and adult obesity, surplus. We're doing this to ourselves and as much as people think they are the masters of thsi world, they are not. There is too much we don't know. What we do effects the planet and effects ourselves and turns in a circle to balance out what we are doing. We are living unhealthy lives so our bodies are doing what they do naturally- adjusting to things.

Our lifestyle of, creepily, the past 100 years is what has rapidly set this upon us. Though it is really interesting learning about how versatile we are as a species. In 400 years we could be completely changed in huge ways!

If you think about it, the way we are now was set by several centuries of famine- we grew taller, stored more fat. And now that most of us are in surplus, we are returning to our previous state.

Are we de-evolving and evolving at the same time? Will we turn into something we were before centuries..... perhaps thousands of years of famine-conditions?

And to broach another subject- humans and neanderthals came from the same species, but branched off. To me this seems as if .... one group suffered famine, the other group had surplus. Over time the group in africa having famine grew taller and developed bigger brains to help them get food- hunter gatherers eventually emerged.

And eventually the neanderthals were wiped out because they ultimately couldn't survive the human onslaught or the change in climates again because they themselves hadn't changed.

So maybe we're going to regress somewhat back and be able to figure out that whole 'missing link' business.

Very interesting. Wish I could be around when they figured this stuff out- if they ever could.

this topic is very interesting to me and yet frightening at the same time.

It's a very complex matter. I'm sure our lifestyles and the chemicals/toxins we've introduced into our way of life have a huge print on these adjustments (earlier puberty, for example; I read about that in the newspaper) and possibly the number of mental illnesses, diseases, and disorders we suffer.

But I dunno how much I buy of the concept that our bodies will rapidly change in regards to features and functions. I accept the concept of minor evolution, such as with bird species that evolve in small ways to seek food and breeding better, but I've never put much stock in the "dinosaur to bird to domestic chicken" type of evolution. Perhaps it's my religious affiliation.

Boy Refuses to Wrestle Bewbs

So, basically, a high school wrestler turned down a match against a girl in a tournament, due to a "matter of conscience and faith, I do not believe that it is appropriate for a boy to engage a girl in this manner... Wrestling is a combat sport and it can get violent at times."

I actually think it's sweet that he doesn't want to risk hurting her, but of course people are going to get pissed when the story spreads further. But is it really bad sexist? It's just some boy saying he's not comfortable hurting a chick. He said he respects her, so. I dunno.

Thoughts?

I honestly dont think thats bad at all. People have their own principles, they have their own idea of what is right and wrong and if he doesnt want to potentially injure a girl because it goes against his upbringing, then he shouldnt have to. Thats like making a jewish boy in a public school eat pork because its there.

Plus the boy had to have forefeited. If he refused to wrestle than he knew he would lose the match and possibly be out of the running.

I think its highly importnt to stand up for what you believe in, that boy did what was right for himself.

And that girl should respect his decision just as people had to respect her decision to become a wrestler. Just because she wanted to be one doesnt mean no one has a right to refuse her.

"What was right for himself." I like the way you worded that. I've never thought about how self-righteous saying "what's right, what's wrong" is when you consider that everyone has a different level of ideals, a different concept of moral behavior and immoral behavior. People are calling the kid sexist, comparing him to Middle Eastern countries that impose head-covering-garment laws for women, but just because they might not agree with this so-called "oppression" of women, doesn't mean they're right. The boy had a legitimate point - mat wrestling can get rough as hell and as a girl her body is naturally less adept at taking damage. Some boys are delicate like that, too, and some girls aren't, but overall it could definitely be argued that physically boys outpower girls in both giving and taking physical abuse. Furthermore, the head vestment laws are put into place in part for a woman's protection; many women are thankful for it, and take pride in wearing them. I work with a girl who covers her head and I just think it's so pretty, so cool that she puts her faith before the judgment of others. A co-worker was pestering her about it, insisting it was sexist, and she just smiled it off and thanked her for her concern but her husband loved her and she herself chose to continue to wear it after moving here.

S'interesting, the concept of "my right" versus "your right" versus "their right." The morals puzzle doesn't have any matching pieces because everyone adds their own views to the table. And then we kill each other over it in long, bloody holy wars. xd sweatdrop

Okay, I just saw the most amazing live tv related thing ever.

I'm sitting here watching the Rachel Maddow show which is a live news/talk show and she's in Lawrence, KS tonight. Well, the big thing on the news right now is Obama no longer wanting to defend the law that's against gay marriage, right?

My first thought when I began to watch this and she said where she was reporting from for the evening I figured that the little crowd in the background would be less than enthusiastic on their little "wooo~" bits when she started on the ********, was I wrong.

As soon as she began to talk about the subject a guy who had been a little obnoxious behind her during the duration of the show leaned over to this super cute blond boy and they started smiling and touched foreheads together and then proceeded to make out on live national ******** television.

I know that seeing gay things on tv isn't that controversial any more and there's showing of affection and such, whatever. I've just never seen two people who aren't in a show or music video kiss and look at each other so adoringly like that before. It was just. I know it's sappy, but I can't stop smiling.

I get that this is all some sort of distraction on Obama's part because he apparently can't get his s**t together on the whole economy thing, but I don't give a ********. It's amazing and the fact I just saw that on live tv, on a ******** news show and it was actual people and not actors just.. It was ******** awesome.

Seriously. Just.. I'll try to find a clip of it in the next couple of days because it was just so ******** sweet, guys. Guh. Made me so happy to see that. I hope this whole thing actually goes somewhere and s**t starts moving to where Naz and I can be legally married here and even adopt when we're older. I doubt it will, but ********, it is so cool.
