Aidan moved around behind Ozzie, then tugged her tail with his teeth gently, and took off toward the clearing. Laughter filled the air as he ran.

Bother... more running...! Ozzie took off after him, willing her legs to move, but he easily outran her, even with the extra weight on his back. She was still tired from before... But this would give her the opportunity to surprise him later.

Aidan finally stopped and laid the deer on the ground, waiting for Ozzie. When she got there he slashed parts off.
"You choose first. You took it down."

Ozzie looked over the kill, assessing it - the deer had been quite fit, though meaty. Carefully, she bent and took a slice from one of its hind legs - not a huge chunk, careful to make sure there was plenty enough for the larger male. "It was a good kill," she said after taking a bite and watching him as she chewed.

Aidan smiled as she took some meat. He did his best to save more than enough for her should she wish for more. He took a chunk from it's side and sat back, eating.

Ozzie let the silence hang, for it wasn't an awkward silence. It was the silence shared by two lions eating an honest meal. When she had finished her slice of meat, she licked the blood from her chops and debated if her stomach could handle another chunk.

Aidan finished off his first chunk, then took a small second. Once he finished that he simply lay on his side, watching Ozzie a bit. He was...amazed by her. Never knew such a lioness existed.

Ozzie watched him from behind her glasses, letting their dark-tinted lens hide her eyes as she reached for another small piece and ate it quickly. Once she had finished, she let out a heavy, pleased sigh and flopped down on her side as well, making sure she could see him around the carcass. "I'm full," she stated with a bit of a whimsical tone.

Aidan chuckled, watching as she finished eating then lay on her side as he had. "As am I. It was a very tasty deer." For a while as they lay there relaxing, he closed his eyes as if nodding off. Of course, he was awake.
After a while he opened his eyes and just looked at her, silent. Suddenly a thought crossed his mind that caused him to sit up abruptly. "Ozzie hey.."

Ozzie sat up sharply when he did, her ears swiveling in every direction as she peered over glasses knocked askew by the sudden movement. "Huh? What?" She hadn't nodded off, but the sudden movement caught her off guard, and to her, that was never a good thing.

Aidan moved closer, staring in confusion for a moment. Realization hit him. "Oh! I didn't mean to bother you." He relaxed slightly, but still sat up, thinking over something quite a bit before speaking again.
"I just wanted to tell you...well..." He smiled a bit. "I rather like you. You have so much energy and just...who you are. The kind of lioness you are...your...amazing Ozzie.."

Ozzie felt her face burn with flush, and she leaned away from him slightly, greatly embarrassed. "Uhm..." she stuttered, looking down at her paws. She didn't take compliments well. Granted, if she understood correctly what exactly he was saying, she shared his feelings, and suddenly she was aware that her reaction may tell him otherwise.

Aidan watched as Ozzie pulled away from him. He was about to speak, but stopped when she stuttered. Several thoughts crossed his mind. That was...until he noticed the redness of her cheeks. That gave him the courage he needed.
"I love you Ozzie." His voice became stronger and warmer as he spoke. Slowly, he moved closer and brushed a paw against her cheek. "Will you be my mate?"

Ozzie felt her cheeks redden even further, and she straightened her glasses and moved some hair from her eyes in nervous movements. She took a moment to calm herself slightly and absorb what he had just said, then leaned in and nuzzled him, stopping with her face close to his, "Of course - I'm not sure who else I'd want... "I love you, too," she said, then licked his cheek and leaned back slightly with a small smile on her maw.

Aidan moved closer to drape a paw over his mate's shoulders as he licked her cheek. His eyes met hers as she spoke those three words. "You could not have made me happier Ozzie. I promise to stay by your side. To always love you."
