I can't deny that I'm very fond of Yuri. He's pretty and I'm shallow. :3 But really, I like that he's so realistic. It's...refreshing. I also love Zagi. Because maniacal villains are win.
As for the PS3 version...from what I understand those Abyss costumes are pre-order bonus only, so I would highly doubt they'd be available for download. Not that it's not possible, I just don't think they will be. (It would be nice, though...) If the PS3 version comes here, I wouldn't even be surprised if we didn't get those titles. Which is why I pre-ordered mine from Japan...
As far as party goes, my friend and I played it together and used Yuri (me), Rita (her), Raven, and Estelle/Repede. We kicked Estelle out (neither of use liked her), and replaced her with Repede whenever possible. :3 Her AI was pretty dumb, all things considered. Of course, we also renamed all of the characters with another of our friends...
Yuri - Kinky
Estelle - Pinky
Raven - Stinky
Rita - Jinky
Judith - Tinky
Repede - Slinky
Karol - Dinky
And for the PS3...
Flynn - Clinky
Patty - Sinky
...yes, we are easily amused. We even nicknamed Brave Vesperia the 'Inky Brigade'. ^^;;;

So, I finally figured out what made Vesperia feel less epic to me. The over-arching plot was sort of...lacking compared to other games I've played. This was mostly because the plot was mostly solving the present problem, then moving on the next one. The main villain didn't even seem like the main villain to me, more like someone that needed to be used so *boom* now you're the final boss. (It didn't really help that up until the very end I insisted that Schwann's script was going to be the final boss.) I guess that really made it ... less epic. Still epic, but just, not as much as it could have been.

Compared to the other games, it was so much darker. Really, I didn't think Namco had it in them. And it probably had more jail time in that game than the other games I've played put together. xp Crazy Yuri.
It's still a good game, though you're right, Yoshi. It was kind of lacking in evil villain-ness and so was the plot. Though there were a lot of twists and turns in it, which made it pretty cool.

I have to say, now that I've nearly finished the game (currently avoiding the final dungeon until I've completed the sidequests and levelled up a lot more!), my favourite character is probably Raven - and I'm playing as him now instead of Repede. I guess I realised just how all-purpose he is in combat, especially with Love Shot's instant cast time.
I agree with the lack of villain-ness, though it doesn't bother me too much. I just feel that the game worked better with solving one problem at a time, and not worrying too much about the bigger picture - it seemed to suit Yuri's personality pretty well. It's a shame I found out most of the larger spoilers thanks to the game being released over a year later here than in America. I sent an annoyed email to Namco Bandai Europe last night - it won't achieve anything, but it makes me feel better!

So, I dunno if anyone else has the PS3 version of this game here or not, but if anyone else does...isn't it amazing? *_* Just having Flynn in the party makes everything better, especially his poses after battle. I want to hug him. <3 Him and Patty are all BFF too. It's cute. ^^
I've managed to kill over 100 hours on that game, and I only just started Part 3. I literally put my party back together, and wandered off to do whatever the heck I wanted. XD
And the party coliseum battles? Ffff, easy synthesis items and EXP much? Seriously, all six Superstars and all four rare 'Gentle' enemies in one go? Talk about easy item farming. I can't wait to unlock the higher ranked ones. Rita + Tidal Wave = items, EXP, and LP like thank you~
There are times I seriously wish I knew more Japanese, though. Like, uh...what the heck is up with Patty? Why oh why does she blast off on a rocket during battle? And that one time Yuri used an orange gel, and my whole party got it? Wut? I know Repede gets an 'item all' skill, but I do not have that yet. O.o; Nor was Repede even in the party...
More reasons that the game should come here. biggrin *crossing fingers for next Namco conference to announce it*

i also agree with yoshi, wheres the evill touch? i think namco is got out of ideas for main bad guys -_- i could even acept Yeager as main antagonist, and also alexis wasnt really bright at all -_-.
but i still love that game!! i like using rita cause....i like spells ^_^(and also staying behind,"you guys go!lose all you hp, ill stay right here casting ^_^"lol, i always do that to my brothers biggrin ) but Estelle is anoying in battle, shes the healer, but she lacks talent -_-...

Not gonna lie, at first the Tales series didn't interest me..then I popped in Symphonia and liked it, but Vesperia won me over.
I love to train, fighting is so fun. I've done so many fatal strikes..I'm so proud of myself. xD

Krazy-Chibi In general I really like Yuri as a main character, he kinda broke the mold of the previous Tales main characters this kinda explains it xd
Rita is really cool too, plus she's amazing when it comes to GRADE farming! (blah blah blah Tidal Wave!) rofl Rita Grade Farming for the win, for sure. 5 hours spent on that, and over 18,450 grade won. I'll never have to worry about grade again. Hell yes. Rita's fav character for sure. Plus, she's got THE BEST costume of any Tales game (loves Seeker).

I think everyone should play this game. Its absolutly amazing. Not only is the storyline really good but the charatcers are to die for.
My faves are Yuri and Rita. They both made me crack up like no other. xD

I seriously adore both Yuri and Flynn, though Rita and Raven are awesome too. I find Judith too much of a robot sometimes, and Karol and Estelle just make me want to Headdesk repeatedly until my brain turns to mush : p
Still though, Repede > All.

My sister got a ps3 for that game XD
Although last time she said anything about it she was still not sure if it was going to be localized (yeah, I get all my info from her) but I would really like to play it. I think Yuri is going to be on my favorite characters list XD
