Valis listened as she spoke in a light and, well, wispy language as she observed the room. Well, this is awkward... he thought as he continued to watch her go. Finally, he realized that Anya was looking at him expectantly.
"I find myself a bit embarrassed to admit that I didn't catch a word of that. I'm, regrettably, only fluent in Low Realm. That sounded like, Skytongue though am I right? It's nice. I don't think I've ever really heard it more then in passing. I don't suppose you'd mind humoring a poor street kid by sharing your insight again?"

No wonder his Skytongue seemed...simplistic, he was likely using some form of Riverspeak or another to pass along his words. On the other hand, she didn't know ANY Realm tongues and she wasn't likely to be able to relate anything in her more...native...tongues either. At least he could understand a bit of what she said and she of what he said, but anything more complicated than that wasn't likely to be understood by him at all.

Anya giggled lightly at the silliness of it all. Here was a whole group of Exalts and communication was going to be the first battle they were going to have to wage to get anything done. She idly wondered if the others had such problems. She knew some of them were at least able to talk in more complicated ways than simple words, hence they must have a full grasp of the local language but still...

"I am afraid to say that I know nothing of the Realm tongues you are familiar with, and even if I can understand some of what you speak, I am afraid that more...complete...ways of communication will be barred." she replied, again in the local Skytongue. "I am certain that employing a local to translate will not do at all...perhaps another of your kin has a way to bridge this problem?" she added with a gentle smile.

She slowly got up and looked again towards the other Solars, wondering if the cryptic one or the younger girl might be able to assist, but both seemed to be engaging conversation with Resistance leaders, so it was likely one of the sword-wielding Solars that she would have to start with first.

Sasha looks to where the ambassador has quickly moved away, then puts her legs up on the edge of her stool, wraps her arms around her knees, and sinks her head into the gap created.
She whispers quietly in Skytongue.

"So am I, ambassador...so am I...."

Renaldo brushes his head up against hers, meowing softly.

"I am anathema among anathema, child, for I grasp nothing- not even the law, nor the truth. Even mercy is not absolute. I will, I must, allow you to find your own way- if it is a just way. I believe it will be."

Glorious Fall takes a seat and knits her hands together.

"What we grasp tightly slips through our fingers. We must hold those things we love with an open hand...but we must hold them."

Slightly frustrated, Akhil clears a spot on the floor near the wall and sits, legs folded, with his hands in his lap. He meditates on the conversation from moments before, every so often muttering to himself in old realm.

Not all yet see as you see. Patience is your ally.

Calmed, Akhil stands again and walks to Sasha, who appears to also be in meditation. Not wishing to interrupt he simply stands quietly near her until she appears willing to talk. However, he turns as he hears a faint voice behind him. Its the poor servant child who has dutifully returned with his meager rations.

"Thank you, I never learned your name."

"You want to know my name?"

Akhil simply smiles.

"Rajeem...its Rajeem."

"Well Rajeem, Have you thought about our exchange?"

"I think so...Sir, are you trying to tell me that you can still gain from helping others?"

"You are right on the mark." Akhil quotes a proverb in Old Realm. >>Though the meaning is far deeper in actual Old Realm, the proverb reads: A willful spirit, dedicated to service to others will find great satisfaction in life.<<

"It means that kindness to others has an important place in the path to greatness and happiness. Remember, the Unconquered Sun chooses those who show strength regardless of their station in life. And the most readily available challenge as far as that is concerned is to show strength in the service of others."

Akhil parts with the boy and continues to stand where he is.

Anya knew the Solar was on the way out, he had an empty plate and cup where he had been sitting and his obvious eagerness to be outside could be read somewhat on his features and felt in his approach. He remained polite in any case and went to converse with Valis, in what seemed to be the language he understood. She did not really understand the exchange, but knew enough by their gestures to know that going outside was involved in some way. Smiling and nodding in silent accord, Anya took a last glance at the gathered people, noticing that Akil likely wants to start a conversation with...Sasha was it?

She had to admit, Anya wanted to be outside likely just as much as Iron Soul, maybe more, she was an outdoors person by nature and it didn't change since her own situation likewise changed, more likely it grew stronger. And so Anya took a few steps forward, to be closer to both Solars, and awaited their lead to go outside.

Colonel Tetsun nods. "I understand what you mean, and I thank you for reminding me of it. All the old absolutes from my life have also been proven all too transient. Should you have any more advice in the days to come, know that I'll be ready to listen."

She pauses to collect a bundle of documents from the table. "Now, if you will excuse me, I need to distribute these intelligence updates to the cell liaisons before they get started on their way home. I bid you a pleasant evening, Perfect Immanence of the Glorious Fall, and shall see you in the morning."
