"You should come drinking with us sometime. He'd probably like you more after some clown-booze," Fao suggested helpfully, looking up from an orchid that had caught his fancy.

Zia clapped its little hands, wings flapping. "I would love to watch. Show me!"

"Come drinking with, you, eh? I'm sure that'd turn out interesting... Especially getting to see what he'd be like under the power of clown-booze." He bemusedly smiled as he heard the last part of Aoi-and-Zia's conversation. "Well, Aoi, I guess we'd best head outside if you're planning on doing the watering now." The flower nodded his head, looking towards Fao and Zia for their approval.

"Do not deny the powers of the clown-booze, hallelujah!" Faolan laughed, raising his hands. He looked at the plant-like Essentic when it looked to him for approval and smiled. "Yeah, Aoi, show us your dance." He picked Zia up and followed the two outside to watch.

Elst laughed as he walked out of the doorway, setting Aoi down near the soon-to-be-watered row of flowers. The Essentic slowly approached the row, a single on of his thin fingers seeming to tap out some unseen beat. Hitting the final beat, first the finger, then his entire hand began to enshroud themselves in a thick jade mist, his other hand soon following suit. The air above the flowers seemed to shimmer ever so slightly. He began the dance.

It began with a simple repeated pattern, two spins through the air, landing to perform a select swaying of his arms, then his hands would glow, and he seemed to push the energy away from himself before pulling it back, to leap into the air and repeat the process. The pattern continued until the air above the flowers had noticeably darkened, and without missing a beat, he began the next step.

His legs bent sharply, Aoi began to twirl on his root-like toes, before running forward, and nearly stomping upon the ground. Before his feet hit the soil, however, he smoothly transitioned onto his other foot while repeating his earlier pushing moment with his now pulsating hands. This he repeated twice, as the air began to fill with a thickly sweet scent. He danced faster and faster, his arms becoming a blur as their energy trailed through the air behind them. He did a complete turn, performing the final ‘push’, and as his foot hit the ground the aura left his hands, and the sound of rain could be clearly heard, soaking the flowers to their roots. The entirety of the dance had been performed without halting his movement even once; the entire incantation proceeded in a single, fluid motion. Slight trails of green light still hung in the air from where his charged hands had passed by.

Sorry… It went by so quickly...It was one of the simpler spells… Behind him, small, dark clouds hung over the flowers.

Faolan's mouth hung open in complete awe. He knelt down to the plant-like Essentic. "La, Aoi, if only my dances had as much impact. That was awesome."

Zia nodded in agreement. "You're very powerful. Are your dances just for rain?"

As Elst watched the miniature spectacle reach its end, he noticed something. Aside from the rain itself, there had been no sound, none at all, and it seemed impossible when Aoi was wearing his pendant. It was absent from his neck, and Elst's eyes widened as he thought it had maybe fallen off somewhere. Aoi would panic.

He relaxed, however, as he noticed the pendant’s weight on his shoulder. The flower had left it there for safekeeping. As Aoi ran up to be lifted up on his shoulder again, Elst placed the pendant back around the Essentic’s neck. The thick, sweet fragrance still hung in the air.

Aoi paused for a moment, before his shyness kicked back into full gear. Th…Thank you, Mr. Fao…. After he’d been lifted back up to his perch on Elst’s shoulder, he relaxed a bit, especially once the ribbon-and-gear pendant was back in its proper place. There’s a lot of things I can do with them… rain’s just one of the easiest ones, and the one I use often… The others, like… causing plants to grow faster, or modification of larger plants… Those are harder, but the dances are nicer…

Faolan held a hand out to the little plant Essentic, an offering of friendship. "I hope very much to see them all one day." He turned his attention to Elst. "I feel as though I'm taking up a lot of your time. Um, where's the lilies you were telling me about?"
PostPosted: Thu May 14, 2009 8:23 pm

Elst shook off Fao's comment. "Oh, I don't mind the company at all, I have plenty of time. Anyway, the lilies are back in the greenhouse, I just need to modify them to fit your girl a little better. Come on in, then." He began to walk back through the open greenhouse door.

Oh... Thank you, yes, I hope you'll get to see them too sometime... Aoi allowed his hand to meet with Fao's, the soft green aura still just barely present. A small bit of the jade mist drifted onto Fao's hand.

"Thanks, Elst," Faolan said, following the man in. "What will I owe you for this?"

Ziazan's focus was on Aoi with renewed interesting, rainbow eyes wide. "That was amazing. You truly have a gift."
PostPosted: Thu May 14, 2009 8:46 pm

Elst thought for a moment. "As I recall, you would not let me give you those daisies last time, paid for them in full, and seeing as they got destroyed, I believe I owe you a replacement. I'll just have to have you promise me you'll keep this Ellandra of yours happy." His grin took on a coy angle as he approached the counter covered in potted daylilies. They were in nearly every color imaginable, all tightly wrapped in their buds, the flowers having closed for the night. "Now, for starters, which color do you think she'd like most?"

Aoi lowered his head slightly, embarassed. You've got quite the ability...yourself, your perception misses...nothing...

Faolan gave a low whistle at the sight of so many colors. He thought about his time with the girl and what her home and clothing looked like. She surrounded herself with so many muted colors, but she was drawn to him--a moth to a flame. He looked at Elst. "Let's get your most colorful one and run it through with a few gray stripes, eh?"

"Sometimes it misses," Zia said modestly.
PostPosted: Thu May 14, 2009 9:07 pm

Elst nodded, picking out a pot holding several of the lilies, three to be exact, each in a different color. One yellow, one dark orange, the other a shade of royal violet. "Aoi, would you do the honors?"

Aoi's hand rested lightly on his ribbon, not realizing he had done so. Well, it sure doesn’t seem like you ever miss… In a way, his voice seemed to carry the weight of a cheerful smile, despite his lacking a mouth. As Elst made his request, Aoi refocused on the flowers in front of him. His fingertips began to glow slightly, with an aura somewhat pinker than the last. The lilies slowly began to bloom, revealing their long, elegant petals, and strips of gray slowly emblazoned themselves on the flowers. As they approached the end, the grey stripes curved to form ovals, with a dot in the center, bearing an uncanny resemblance to eyespots one might find on a butterfly. The veins within their leaves took on a pale grey shade as well, creating an elegant pattern against the green background.

How… How does that look, Mr. Fao?

"Simply stunning. She'll love these," Fao said, tracing the gray with a gentle fingertip. "You do good work, Aoi. You both do."

Zia had a rather pleased expression, like a cat with a canary. It was silent, though, its reasons being its own.

Elst watched Fao handle the flowers, pleased that they met his requirements. "Well, I certainly hope she does. Now, all I need to do is get it wrapped and decorated for you."

Aoi said nothing, silent like Zia, but with him it was for simple shyness.

"Can they be potted so they'll grow? I was hoping she'd have these around awhile," Fao said, glancing up at Elst briefly before returning his focus on the flowers. "I'll be moving soon with the carnival and I wanted a gift for her, something that'll keep her company till I come back for her."

At its owner's words, Zia looked at Aoi, a knowing smile gracing its small face.
