She turned her face upwards and gave him her first genuine smile of the afternoon, dark hair falling away from cheeks that were a little too pale to be called fair. "Have I ever said no to the ice cream bribes, Agatha?"

"Ice cream sounds good, Alanis," she said with some finality, sinking her hands back into her own pockets as they walked, falling into a slow, steady step alongside her much larger companion, setting an easy pace that wouldn't put too much strain on his injury. She hadn't seen him since before he had been forced to retire, but Andy had a habit of hearing and knowing everything. Everything ever. She had been filled in on the zombie attack and its lasting effects on Alice only days after he stopped coming to the club to chat.
"Might take you up on that milkshake another day."

"I got lotsa days, Aaron." he grinned in return, lifting a hand to indicate a turn of the corner. "So. How is Andy, anyway? We haven't spoken in... uh." Alice frowned suddenly, unable to recall a date. "Awhile. Jesus. Kind of like forever."

"I figured," she told him, flashing him a smile and slowing just slightly to accommodate the turn. She shrugged faintly, zipping up the front of her sweatshirt halfway to help ward off the breeze. "It's been awhile. He mentioned you hadn't been in to the new place to say hi, but figured you were busy since you own a business now. He's doing well, though. The new location seems to be working out for him. The move was too far to take most of the clientele with him, but if people need a reading bad enough, they'll travel for it. He's the same as ever. Loud, musical, and wearing too much magenta."

"Isn't any too much for magenta?" He asked in the tones of the mildly puzzled. He couldn't quite remember which color was magenta, at the moment, but he figured, knowing Andy, it was a bright one. Maybe a pink. Or a really radioactive green.
"Be honest, I didn't know he moved." That, and he hadn't wanted to know anything about his old haunts in better than a year. The sting was still fresh as ever. It felt cheap to say out loud, and suddenly he was guilty for not bringing Andy by a box of candies to welcome him to town.
He would. Later this week. After he finished the Angel in the back he'd burned the metaphorical eyebrows off of this morning.

"You know him. The brighter the better, and the more it clashes, the happier he is. Makes it work though, I guess," Alex reasoned, tossing her hair over her shoulder as it threatened to fall into her eyes again. Andy's taste in clothing had always been questionable in her opinion. She was always just too polite to say so. And at least he coordinated his neons fairly well.
"He didn't contact you?"

The blond offered her a chastised schoolboy sort of look before turning his attention half way down the street. "You know Andy," he muttered faintly. "He always knows. Y'know?"

"I've always thought you needed one of those," Alex told him rather pointedly, another fleeting smile passing over her lips as they walked. "Seriously though. You packed up and left pretty quick. Guess I can't blame you though. At least you were easy to find again. We've talked plenty about me already today, how have you been doing since you left?"

"Well." He frowned faintly, rubbing the back of his neck. Part of the perks of moving had been not having to discuss this with anyone. He cleared his throat, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "I wasn't actually doing much of anything quick, Princess. I was sorta in the hospital for... at least a month, I think. And then rehab and... you know."
Okay, maybe she didn't know.
"Anyway. I can safely say nothing of interest has happened since then. Absolutely." The large man shrugged one shoulder. "Physical therapy isn't exactly super special exciting. And then I opened the Sistine, back there. And... well. I set myself on fire today?"
Alice held up a hand. "Briefly."

"That's kind of exciting," Alex supplied helpfully, dark eyebrows knitting together in the middle as she gestured vaguely. "I mean, briefly exciting, at least. See, you had an adventure and you didn't turn out extra crispy. It's something, right?"
She shrugged, smiling as she fell back into step with her much larger companion. "Sometimes it's nice when things are just quiet."
