"Chione." She nodded lightly in approval. Though... did it mean anything? She frowned at a gentle bulge in the egg that grew to a portrusion in a matter of seconds. The shell gave, freeing a nub of an antler. Kindle lifted a forehoof, looking on in fascinated horror. Something small and wet was moving around in there. A little lip of wet fur closed on the jagged edge of the shell, gumming it. With a little push, the fleck fell away. The creature inside pressed her knees hard to the floor of her little cell, back arched against the wall. As it gave, two tiny, sticky wings came free, beating at the air wildly with a wet thrum. Exhausted, Chione paused briefly, an odd longing for rest filling her - a longing she didn't understand. She did, however, recognize that stopping now would leave her confined in that miniscule prison. Kicking out at the thought, the belly of the egg gave way, leaving a very small, very confused filly sitting in the pink and orange cup that had been her egg shell. Huffing, a hind leg thrust out to either side, she rested her weight on her front hooves, rumbling irritably as the remnant of egg tilted forward. Leaning back instinctively, she loosed a small growl as it moved with her."Toshi?" Kindle glanced to him, then to the small ball of wet in the middle of their bed. "Is it hurt...?" And sane...?

Toshiro chuckled to himself as he watched the small filly struggle about with her egg shell. "She doesn't appear to be injured," he said with a small smile, moving forward a bit to start cleaning some of the egg goo off of their daughter. "Hello there, Chione," he said kindly, trying not to startle the little one as she had yet to really notice them. The stallion couldn't help but be amazed at just how much she looked like her mother, wings and all.

Chione's gaze moved up, her blue eyes squinted against the light. She could only just make out a very brown, very fuzzy form. And it was massive. Squeaking softly, she leaned to one side as he began to groom her. The shell tipped, depositing her on the grasses. She uttered another small, irritated noise.
Bowing her head, she nuzzled their daughter. She looked so much like Toshi. "Hello, little one."
Chione looked up. Another one. Still, she recognized their voices, so much different now with no shell to muffle sound. Her ears lowered as she looked between the two.

Toshiro smiled at his mate as she nuzzled their daughter. "She looks just light you," he said softly before going back to grooming the small filly. He wondered vaguely if the child realized who or what they were exactly.

Kindle glanced up to him in confusion. "Me? I don't know. I should say she more resembles her father. At least in color." Her cheeks reddened. Aside for the wings... those were hers, at the least. And perhaps her hair, but it was difficult to tell with so much- what was all of this goo? She paused in her ministrations, head tilted to the side as she stared at their daughter.

He chuckled lightly. "Color, yes, but she has your patterning." Then again, he didn't have much of a pattern to himself at all, so that was only natural for her to take more after her mother then. Toshiro paused in his cleaning for a moment and gave Chione a small nudge. "Can you stand, little one?" he asked. She'd need to stand if she wanted to feed. Ah, milk. I nearly forgot about that. It had been so long since he had been a foal himself. Hm, I doubt Kindle knows about that. Well, they'd cross that bridge when they got to it. For now though they just needed to help their daughter get adjusted.

"Hmm." She stared down thoughtfully. "I don't know that I see it."
Chione leaned over, latching on to her father's nose as he so kindly offered it. Nibbling on the skin, her ears perked as he spoke. They always made noise. It amused her to little end. But this was somehow unsatisfying, nice and chewy as he was.

And it looks like they were already at that bridge. "Ow," he mumbled, carefully prying his nose free of his daughter's grasp. "Um, Kindle, I believe she's hungry," the stallion remarked, smiling sheepishly at his mate. "Um, you'll need to stand a bit closer to her..."

Kindle shot him a shocked glance. She'd seen the filly gnawing at Toshiro. Just what was he expecting? "I'm sorry...?"

That probably hadn't sounded right. Well, might as well be somewhat blunt by this point. "Young foals usually drink milk from their mothers," he explained. "I believe your body's been making some while you were pregnant. You're still a little, um, 'tender' on the underside, yes?" Even though this was all perfectly natural, he felt the slightest bit awkward discussing anatomy with her.

"Uh huh." She looked at him flatly, not quite sure what to expect next. Chione, unfortunately, was one step ahead of the two of them. Pushing herself up on her knees, she latched on. Kindle's eyes went wide, a surprised whicker leaving her. And then a pained wince as she glanced back at the filly.

There was silence for a brief moment as their daughter suckled. "Well, it looks like she found her marked," Toshiro replied with a faint smile. "Erm, did you want me to break open that coconut for you, or were you in the mood for something else?" Hey, might as well continue the feeding chain, right? They hadn't exactly eaten yet today either.

"Coconut's fine." Teeth clenched, she managed to get that out. She stood at hoof-point, still as a stone. Tender. That was a good word for it. She had a few more words for it, but most of them were explative and unlady-like. Chione continued on, rising up on her knees.

Toshiro gave a small nod, stepping back out to the coconut to begin working on it. His mate seemed to be in a bit of pain, but considering the source, there wasn't really much he could do about it. Apart from hoping that their child filled up soon anyway.
After a few minutes, he successfully managed to split the coconut without losing too much of the milk. He carefully carried one half over to his mate and laid it down in front of her before ducking back out to retrieve the other. Once both halves were in, he gave her a tentative smile. "Are you alright?"

A nod of thanks as he entered, her body relaxing somewhat as Chione's particular affections became less harried. When he came in again, the filly had curled up beside her mother. Kindle had laid down, likewise. Still a little sore, but that ache felt a little better somehow. She mused on it a moment, then looked up at him and nodded. "Thank you for breakfast."
