'Tis the Season for a Joyride Part II Merci` Dio didn't want to let Rhys know how relieved he felt. He was however thrilled that they weren't just going to take off and go home. He turned and stopped trying to do things that required any type of concentration. His legs faded back into the tail that he'd had since he gained his form, and he stopped trying to be corporeal. It was his way of conserving himself so he could be away from Merci a bit longer.
The fiend floated toward the windows that opened up, and he stared out the at the view in front of him. He wondered why Cinder would come home if this is where she'd been all that time. 'Thank you Rhys. I don't want to get you into trouble, but I really need this.' Dio's voice was quiet when he spoke.
The shadow shut his eyes and tried to open himself up, tried to get in touch with the part of him that was connected to all of this. When he concentrated, parts of the song started to fade into the background. He could almost... almost make it out.***** Merci frowned and she looked at Cinder. She really wanted to leave this in her hands but who knew where the hell they were. They could have been up there for an hour, and halfway out of the solar system by now. "Cinder, Dio is a part of me now. We can be away from each other but not for very long. It's... getting to the point he needs to be back." Merci was purposefully vague. Cinder would make her own assumptions and she was sure they would be worse then anything she could tell her. Cinderfae Cinder glanced over to Merci` and then to the communicator, Cinder sympathized with Merci` but the pilot also believed that you had live or die by your own actions. Her earlier belief that someone couldn't just walk off with one of the shadows still stood as well, after a moment she clicked the communicator, "Rhys, is Dio feeling alright - he's going to be getting weaker if he's away from Merci` too long." Rhys frowned and glanced over at Dio, "he has a headache..." shifting uneasily Rhys sighed. He was feeling more then a little split, on one hand he wanted to turn back on the other...he didn't want Dio upset with him. Turning some Rhys looked back toward Dio, "how bad is it?"Tek curled up next to Rhys the wisp shifted uneasily between Rhys and Dio in worry. Merci` The fiend wasn't completely oblivious. He was empathic enough to feel the worry, not to mention Tek was practically radiating it. He didn't answer, and opened his eyes. He floated forward and extended his left hand out toward the void. 'It's alright, that's enough.' The shadow sounded tired, he tried to keep it out of his voice and failed.
Dio had only just grown, and maybe he'd tried to stretch his wings to far. 'We can go back, I just needed some time.' It wasn't fair of him to put Rhys in the middle like this, and he knew it. For one selfish moment though, he thought he could hear it. He thought he could hear one, clear, strong, beautiful voice.
It was enough.***** Merci was not keen on spending another stretch of time with a pounding headache. She opened her mouth to say something and then snapped it shut. "I'm going to lay down, let me know when they are on the way back okay?" She was feeling the edges of her control fray and she didn't want to dissolve into fits. They hadn't been apart that long, Merci just really really did not like headaches. She stepped close to Cinder and kissed her cheek before she wandered over to the bed and stretched out on it. The fox woman trusted her love to do the right thing and keep the boys safe. Cinderfae Rhys glanced over and nodded, switching the controls over almost immediately. "We are heading back..." his own worry was carried in his voice but he attempted to keep sounding strong after all no matter what awaited them back at home Rhys wasn't about to break down over whatever punishment Cinder might come up with. Cinder let a breath out after a moment releasing some tension she hadn't realized she'd been building up, " we are going to be out there to meet you." With that she shut off the comm and spoke to Mycroft, "keep an eye on their course and let me know when they are close to home..." once Mycroft gave a few noises in response to let her know he'd been listening Cinder moved over to the bed, she didn't bother taking her boots off but just crawled into it to lay next to Merci wrapping her arm around her. "They are on their way back - Mycroft is going to let us know...so we can be outside to meet them." There was still worry and tension that wouldn't go away fully until they were back but for now it wasn't getting worse. "Did you find what you were looking for?" Once the course was laid in they started back toward home, the ship was moving quickly so they wouldn't have all that much time but Rhys turned to look curiously to Dio as he spoke. Now that they were heading back Tek moved more quickly back and forth over the deck dashing from Rhys and then to Dio as if attempting to assess them and the happenings. Merci` Dio turned to look at Rhys, his visible eye only half open at the moment. Whether it was because he was tired, or because he was still listening was hard to say. 'I think,' He paused and then nodded slowly to himself. 'I think I found something. Not what I wanted exactly, but progress.'
Dio floated closer to Rhys and leaned over to stretch a hand down to Tek. He tried to push a calming feeling through the natural empathy that fiends had, 'It's alright Tek. I'll be fine, I've been away from Merci longer then this. It was when I was much weaker then I am now too. I'm not going to die or anything.' Being buried when he was Tek's age was the longest he'd been away. 'Thank you, I'm sorry if we're going to get into trouble and for putting you in the middle like that.' He sounded sincere, but still tired.***** Merci wrapped her arms around the other woman and buried her face into her shoulder. It never mattered where they were, she felt safe and happy when Cinder was holding her. "Thank you, I probably would have screamed incoherently at them for being stupid and reckless." Her voice was muffled but understandable. Cinderfae "Well it's good you found something..." Rhys frowned slightly in thought as he listened to Dio. "Though, even if you have been farther away from her you don't want to make yourself or her sick...maybe now that you found something she can come with you another time - if you weren't tired and away from her maybe it would be more clear?" Rhys glanced over as he spoke before looking back to the sky, Tek now assured that everyone was alright for the moment moved away from Dio and Rhys. Finding a few old parts that hadn't been cleared away the little wisp started curling around them occupying himself as they drifted closer to home. Cinder rubbed Merci's back soothingly listening to her, "well you could have but I don't think it would have done any good. Usually the more someone tells you that your wrong or you can't do something you tend to rebel...at least that's what always happened with me. I'm guessing similar things happened with you as well." Smiling slightly she rested knowing that Mycroft would let them know if there was a problem with the boys return. Sometime later Mycroft spoke up, "the Warhammer is getting ready to set down within the next twenty minutes." "Sounds like we should get going and go meet them." Merci` Merci nodded a little bit and grumbled a little bit. "I love Dio, and I love Rhys. I really do, but part of me was really enjoying the peace and quiet." She buried her face in Cinder's shoulder for another moment before she gave in to the need to get up and get moving. "So how are we handling this? Are we going to good cop bad cop it? Or do you want me to handle punishment?" She waited for her other half and took Cinder's hand as they headed out of the bedroom. "I'm willing to handle things however you want." Honestly she was just tired, and the headache had settled in behind her eyes. ***** Dio had moved over and stared out of the huge observation windows as long as he was able to. When they slid closed he allowed the grumpy to set in. 'I hope so one day. I want to actually meet a star, wouldn't that be amazing?' He was talking more to himself then Rhys really. He was not looking forward to this ship opening up and dealing with an angry Merci. The bond they shared told him that she was angry, but tired too. He hoped she would put off the scolding until he felt a little less weak. 'We'll be home soon right? How much trouble do you think we're in?' Dio turned his face to regard Rhys as he piloted them home.Cinderfae Cinder pulled herself up to get up out of the bed. "Not going to have you discipline them alone - plus working with Rhys is hard enough as it is. I don't think he'll just let it go if I have someone else punish him." Stretching her legs out Cinder stood up and moved over picking Mycroft up, "ground him for a bit I suppose...change the security levels on the ship."After strapping Mycroft to her wrist Cinder looked over to Merci, "what do you think for punishment?" Rhys frowned slightly glancing over to Dio, "I'm not sure...but we are just about to land so I'm sure we'll know soon. I'm not really concerned though..." really Rhys wasn't concerned he knew there was only so much that Cinder would be willing to do to punish them, limiting what would actually be dealt out. Merci` Merci sighed a little bit and growled, "To be honest I have no idea how to punish Dio. I can't exactly tell him he can't leave his room, he can phase through the walls. I can't spank him or punish him physically, because again, he's incorporeal. I guess, well I guess I could take away his books and his telescope for a week or so. You think longer would be good? As far as Rhys, I don't know what he's been though. Would making him help Seraph with all the household chores be punishment?" She'd had it easy with Fiona, she just had to take away her social life for awhile and she shaped up right quick. She pushed her way out of the house and squinted as she looked up at the sky. It was dark out, but she should be able to make out the shape of the Warhammer blotting out the stars as it approached. "Whatever you decide I'll back you up alright? We need to be a united front." Merci laced her fingers with Cinder's and squeezed her hand lightly. Being a parent sucked. ***** Dio could feel her getting closer and the worry inside of him uncoiled. She was angry, very angry. He could feel it through the bond they shared. Almost more then anger he could feel the horrible worry she had felt too. That something would happen to them while Cinder and her were helpless.
He did owe her an apology, and she'd get one when he wasn't feeling so bloody exhausted. Dio floated over next to Rhys, his body still completely un-phased. He didn't feel like he could maintain a solid body at the moment. 'No matter what happens. Thank you.' The weakness was in his voice, they probably turned back without much time to spare. Not that he'd have died if he'd stayed away, but the side effects would have been less then fun.Cinderfae Cinder grabbed her jacket and shrugged it on, "hmm...that might work. I'm not sure if it would be much of a punishment but Seraph could probably use the help anyways." What she had told Merci was correct, she'd stolen the Warhammer originally - so when it came to punishing Rhys for taking it for a spin and not destroying anything she wasn't overly worried about it. But Seraph really could use the help. Rhys smiled and reached over giving Dio's arm a little squeeze, with a few more motions he set the ship down. "Right well we're home...lets go face the music."Cinder strolled along quickly heading toward the 'hammer's parking spot, glancing to Merci she murmured, "well at least he parked her right."Merci` Merci let go of Cinder's hand and folded her arms. She wasn't falling over tired, but she felt the strain of being away from Dio for so long. She knew that the anger was more at his recklessness then it was at anything else. She watched as the Warhammer set down and she smirked at her love's comment. "Well I guess it's good we don't have to make them work off the cost of repairs." The ship opened and Dio came out first. He looked tired, and now that they were near each other the fear that had been nibbling on her from behind her anger seemed to fade. Merci's shoulders slumped a bit and she unfolded her arms to rub a hand over her face. "You two are highly grounded, you know that. We'll discuss punishments tomorrow." So they pretty much knew what they were going to do to the kids, but it didn't matter. Merci was tired, and she could feel that Dio was too. It would be better to deal with this later when they all had clear heads and a little sleep. Dio glanced back at Rhys and he pushed gratitude at him through the natural empathy that fiends seemed to have. He was happy to be home, but we knew that what they had done was important to him. He floated toward Merci and nodded his acceptance of her words.
The fiend was too tired to even say anything at the moment. Instead he just moved close to his guardian and pushed himself up against her back, giving her a small hug. He did love her, and he could tell that the anger stemmed from worry. He phased out again and disappeared into her shadow.Merci shut her eyes and looked at Cinder and reached a hand out to squeeze her arm before she headed toward the house. "I'm getting some sleep. We'll deal with everything else in the morning." Cinderfae Cinder smiled faintly when the two stepped out of the ship, a bit of tightness in her shoulders fading upon seeing the boys returned. Letting Merci take the lead Cinder just stayed to the back nodding slightly in agreement with Merci. "It's time to get a bit of rest tonight as it is...lets get inside." Cinder ran her hand over Merci's shoulder as the other woman turned to head inside. Rhys smiled and glanced over to Dio, being punished in it's own way was comforting...because he knew Cinder wouldn't actually hurt him. He wasn't sure if there was much of a lesson that he was going to learn but he'd take it in stride. "Well guess the real trouble we're in we'll find out tomorrow." Tek bobbed up and down next to the two, the fiend seemed to be enjoying the whole thing a great deal. Being fairly tired as well Rhys went toward the house, as the boy passed her Cinder reached out and gave his arm a gentle squeeze. Once everyone else had headed in, Cinder went to the Warhammer, she'd have to take a bit of time but didn't want to leave the ship without new protocols after the boys little trip.

Christmas Morning Chaos ...Joint Cinder/Merci... Merci` Dio was curled up in his beanbags on the widows walk, watching the stars. He could tell by their places in the sky what time it was, and it was getting to be early morning. How early could he get away with waking everyone up? His guardian had warned him that if it was before dawn she was going to set fire to the massive pile of presents that had accumulated under the strange tree.
If nothing else it smelled wonderful. Pine and cinnamon, ooh and peppermint. The house was full of cookies and cakes that Seraph had brought over from the guest house the night before. Plus he'd made pieces for gingerbread houses, and Merci had insisted that they all sit down and make one together. So it had a little gingerbread space ship outside and a little shadow shaped gingerbread thing on the roof. He was assuming that was supposed to be him.
He hadn't been able to concentrate on anything at all tonight. Merci had told him some story about a fat man wiggling down the chimney from the roof, and set Dio on guard duty. No fat man was getting in on his shift, no way, no how. He was supposed to land some crazy sleigh thing pulled by flying reindeer. Who believed in THAT. Pure fantasy.
The stars started disappearing in the early pre-dawn light, and that was his cue. He was just so excited he couldn't wait anymore. Dio didn't even bother going through the house the regular way, he phased his body and moved right through the roof and down through the ceiling. He rubbed his hands together and cackled to himself as he moved freely through the house. Sometimes he really enjoyed being able to move through walls, and now was one of those times. He put his head through Rhys' wall and loudly announced, 'IT'S CHRISTMAS MORNING!! GET UP GET UP GET UP! IT'S PRESENT TIIIME!!' He didn't wait to see what happened in the room, he was off to repeat the process in Merci and Cinder's room.
Dio's head went through the wall again and he bellowed the same thing as loudly as he could. This time however he stayed around long enough to hear Merci jump and shriek as she fell out of bed. Cinderfae Rhys had been sleeping, not the most fitful sleep but sleep none the less, when the mental shout came into the room he flailed and fell over the side of his bed. As if anticipating that something was going on Tek fluttered across the floor, darting over toward the door. Muffled sounds of cursing in an alien language were heard for a moment before Rhys threw the offending blanket to the side finally freeing himself and his wings. Hearing a crash form the hall Rhys leaned slightly with enough time to see a flash of orange fur drop down from the small balcony and dash down the stairs. Peeps had been promised that he could help in the kitchen today, something that the priman had been waiting for with anticipation. About as much of a morning person as his mother Rhys looked toward the window with a frown. Walking over toward his closet he pulled a robe from it to cover him a bit more then his boxers alone would. "Time to get up..." a smile escaped him as he looked down to the over excited wisp bobbing in the air next to the door. "Lets go see what this is all about then," stiffling another yawn Rhys ran his hand through his hair and walked toward the stairs, at least the house smelled good with the promise of sweets and food. Cinder's hand went to the blaster on her bedside table as she was woken with a jolt. For a moment in the predawn light she held the gun tightly before slowly loosening her grip and sitting up. Smirking slightly she glanced over at Merci, then pushed herself over the oversized bed and offered the kitsune a hand up, "you know, the empire use to have a celebration on it's founding day...gifts were exchanged, use to have to get up obscenely early to fly your flag and sing ... always hated getting up. Likely why I ended up a pirate..."Merci` Merci groaned and lay on the floor for a moment. Her a** was going to be sore all day from that extremely clumsy fall. She cracked her eye and looked toward the windows. It was turning that crazy hazy blue of really early morning. "I'm going to murder him, I am. You think that he would be old enough now that he wouldn't have to be such a child on Christmas." She stretched her hand up and grabbed Cinder's outstretched one. Dio didn't wait, he phased his body completely and made a beeline for the living room. He was so excited about this morning that it was overflowing through his empathy and up the bond to his guardian.
The fiend paused when he phased through the wall into their winter wonderland, and he was taken aback. Everything was already set up. The fire was cheerfully roaring in the fireplace, and Dio could smell the fact that there was cinnamon sprinkled on the wood. there were mugs with steaming hot cocoa and coffee set out for everyone.
The shadow moved into the dining room and then poked his head into the kitchen. Seraph was already there puttering around.Seraph looked up from what he was doing and nodded his head to Dio. "Good morning young one. It would seem the house is stirring now is it not?" The medusa had a tray of freshly baked cinnamon buns. He set it on the counter and then pulled out a bag of bagels and laid it out too. He'd purposefully left some things undone it seemed, to allow the priman to assist as was promised. The sounds of Merci clattering down the stairs was hard to miss. She hated being up this early and was protesting quite loudly that the gifts would not disappear if they'd been allowed a few more hours of sleep. Cinderfae Laughing slightly Cinder pulled Merci` to her feet before sliding off the bed. Cinder pulled on a pair of pajama pants and a tank top before taking a cigar from the side table and heading toward the door, "well we aren't going to get back to sleep now." Cinder followed along with Merci` letting the shorter woman spew out the profanities of her upset, which just amused Cinder more then anything. Peeps dived down the stairs before darting into the kitchen, pushing a stool over he looked gleefully over the little jobs that Seraph had left for him. Rhys paused and looked at the tree before looking over toward the Kitchen, the kitchen seemed to be where the action was. Mumbling slightly he headed toward it, Tek paused a moment as if not wanting to leave the living room, but after a moment dashed after his guardian. Rhys leaned slightly to look into the kitchen, "good morning..." glancing over to the food and then Seraph he stepped more into the kitchen, "food looks good...is there coffee?" He picked up the habit of drinking the bitter beverage already. Hearing Merci` on the stairs Rhys glanced back, Tek clung to the edges of Rhys robe, small wisps of shadow darting to and fro as the wisp attempted to take in the scene and understand it. Merci` Seraph bobbed his head in greeting to Rhys and kept a wary eye on Peeps as he answered. "I took the liberty of making coffee and hot cocoa for those with the taste for them." The efficient Medusa had a large silver serving tray ready to go with all of their favorite mugs on it. There were two silvered carafes that were spewing steam from the pouring lips. "As soon as the food is ready I will be out directly to offer service to the family. You should probably find somewhere comfortable for the morning." It was obvious the medusa was used to the bustle. He turned his attention to Peeps and addressed him, "The bagels need to be toasted Peeps, and I left the frosting out for you to finish the cinnamon buns." He paused and gestured to the prepared tray and the serving dish that lay on it. "When your done if you could arrange the food aesthetically I will serve it to the family." Dio giggled a little bit, 'Come on Rhys leave Seraph to breakfast. He'll get cross if we get in his way.' Whether or not the fiend was being mocking was not entirely clear as he moved back into the living room and hovered over the piled gifts to try and get a look at the tags on them. Merci had gotten a tree for the medusa to decorate at the guest house, so he didn't see anything there that had a tag indicating any of them received gifts.Merci grumpily shoved into the living room and found an overstuffed chair next to the already crackling fire. Her green eyes focused on Dio and she growled out "When I mean morning, I meant after the sun had risen all the way Dio. Not when it was thinking about it." He turned his eye on her and he tried to sound innocent, 'I'm sorry I thought you wouldn't want to miss the sunrise on such a beautiful day. I'll be more careful next time.' It was obvious from his tone that he was amused by her ire, and not in the least but penitent.Cinderfae Peeps beamed happily before happily moving over and starting on the toasting of the bagels. While the bagels toasted Peeps then started frosting the cinnamon buns, his tail flickered the little primen's eyes shown brightly. Whatever the day held, this moment in the kitchen was likely to be his highlight. Rhys sighed and allowed Dio to steer him out of the kitchen, "alright...but the living room looks much too cheery for me to sit comfortably without something soon." Grumbling slightly Rhys looked over the area before falling into an over fluffed chair to the side, resting his head back he closed his eyes as he waited for the others. Tek fluttered over toward the tree as Rhys settled, the little wisp brushed against packages making the ribbons flutter and the paper crinkle. Settling down near a package the little shadow peeked up and around to see if anyone was giving him notice. Cinder chuckled on the stairs continuing following along, "well...any other morning I might have shot someone. But...today I can be lenient." Stretching slightly Cinder moved over toward the study and leaned against the door lighting her cigar - the pilot usually didn't smoke in the main areas of the house but the study was one of the places she made an exception for; the sweet smell of her smoke spread through the room but not overpoweringly so. Merci` Seraph watched Peeps for a few moments to be sure he seemed to have the hang of finishing off breakfast. He picked up a few of the bagels and cinnamon buns when the Priman was finished with them and arranged them neatly next to the mugs on his tray. When he was satisfied he lifted the breakfast service into his hands and slithered out into the living room. He paused next to Rhys and leaned his body over so the boy could reach the offered mugs and pick his up. "Coffee is in the carafe on the left, sir." Merci moved her eyes from Dio over to the Asian medusa who was moving around with a try half full of mugs and half full of pastry goodness. She scooted to the edge of the lounger she was sitting in and her tail whipped back and forth impatiently. "Are we just about set up to start this shindig? My bed could probably still be warm when I go to crawl back into it if we hurry this up." Dio shrugged a shoulder and stopped hovering over the packages. Instead he floated over and settled in next to Merci. He knew that the chances of them keeping all the curtains pulled and the room extremely dimly lit was not very high today, so he curled himself up in the shadow that the chair and his guardian provided. 'You guys are the ones that need your caffeine and food.'Seraph straightened up and moved around to Merci so she could settle down and start relaxing. She snagged her cup and poured a full cup of hot black java and snagged a thickly frosted cinnamon bun. The monotone voice admonished her gently "There you are Merci, relax and enjoy the time with your family." Cinderfae Rhys nodded slightly and filled a mug for himself, considering his current sleepiness he didn't wait long before adding a fair amount of sugar to his coffee as well. "Thank you," Rhys mumbled softly before curling his legs under himself and sinking back into the chair and closing his eyes. Cinder finished her cigar before stepping out of the study and joining the rest. "I think your under estimating the joy we get out of making you grumpy." Grinning faintly Cinder leaned and kissed the top of Merci's head. "I can hand out the gifts if everyone likes..." Cinder glanced to the tree before striding over pausing long enough to snag a mug and bagel from Seraph. Tek moved along the side of it's package, peering around the back of it to watch Cinder get settled. Once it was sure that no one was watching the little wisp darted toward the tree. Moving along under the bright decorations and lights the wisp curiously started searching about - this tree interested it as much as the larger one in the mall had. Merci` When Seraph had finished passing out the mugs and he knew everyone had something to chew on, he settled the serving tray on a coffee table and excused himself from the room. He would need to go wake the other Medusa and feed them before it got to horribly late in the day. He paused in the kitchen before heading outside to the guest house and reminded Peeps to wipe the counters and wash up when he was finished with the food. Merci hunched down in her chair and stuck her tongue out at Cinder. Yeah she was being a child but really it was all in good fun. She wasn't really upset. Mostly because she knew that this was the kind of thing she should expect on Christmas morning. Merci rested her elbows on the overstuffed chair arms, "I think it would be nice if you passed things out. That way I don't have to move, and Dio can't fondle all the packages to figure out what's inside before they are opened." The aforementioned fiend peeked his head up over the top of Merci's chair. 'I don't do that! Not unless they're mine.' Geez talk about taking all the fun out of opening a gift. The best part was feeling it all over to try and guess what it was before you tore off all the pretty paper and ribbon. He was right only about half the time, but no one really kept track.Cinderfae Using her foot Cinder knocked the stool over toward the wall near the tree and took a seat. Stretching her legs out she took time to eat her bagel ... slowly and drink some of her coffee, "I'll hand them out, after I'm comfortable as well." Rhys muttered and peered over his mug, he was hoping he might be able to just open a few gifts and slink off to his room to bundle up and hide for the rest of the day but it didn't look like that was going to happen. "At least it's warm down here..." Curling his wings more tightly around himself he pulled a nearby blanket over to rest on his shoulders. As Tek searched he spotted the wall socket where the tree lights plugged into the wall. Darting over the little wisp put a few shadowy feelers toward the plug, as Tek latched on the tree lights flickered. Merci` Merci scowled at the tree and narrowed her eyes. The lights were flickering, and she hadn't spent three hours stringing that tree with blinking lights. "Cinder is a bulb loose?" She didn't specify what she was talking about, because it should have been fairly obvious. Dio peeked from behind the chair and his visable eye got wide. The unhappiness that his guardian was feeling right now was rolling off of her in waves. He could feel it through his bond and it was spoiling his good mood. The teenager decided that perhaps it was best to let her wallow in her misery alone.
The older fiend moved away from the chair, and drifted across the room to settle near Rhys. He brushed his long bang behind his pointed ear for a moment, revealing his second eye. 'The lights don't matter, can we just get to opening stuff?' He was massively impatient to see what was under there for him.Cinderfae Tek paused with his tinkering as Merci's voice filled the air, if the little wisp could smile he would have. Curling his little tendrils of shadow around the light connection more he continued his fiddling but attempted to focus it more. Rhys peeked an eye open and looked to the tree, there was something all too familiar about the current dilemma. Glancing over at Dio he smiled slightly and murmured, "better cut off the light gremlin before it gets worse." Tilting his head slightly he shifted his eyes toward the wall where the little wisp was barely visible. You better get out from there before Merci` eats you or something, Rhys sent the thought toward the wisp focusing on his bonded the best he knew how. Cinder looked over at the tree with a frown, as the lights stabilized for the moment she shrugged, "dunno...damn finicky things if you ask me. And I agree ... lets get distracting with the presents." Leaning down Cinder started pulling gifts from under the tree, smirking slightly she passed Dio a very small thin envelope as his first gift from her. Then she passed a present to Rhys and one toward Merci`. "Even something for Tek under here...where did he get off to?" As Cinder asked her question the lights went out and then quickly blinking twice before stabilizing. Tek dashed under the tree before slowly appearing toward the front of it, Cinder narrowed her eyes at the little wisp before dropping his present near Rhys. "He might need help with that."Merci` Merci accepted that package from Cinder and she settled back in her armchair again. She was trying to balance her coffee mug on the arm while she tucked her feet up under herself. Half of the grump was for show, she really did get a kick out of watching people give and receive presents. She was not in a hurry however to rip the paper off her own package. The fox woman got comfortable and glanced over at the boys. "Go on rip it open I know you want to." Despite the tone, her ears were pricked forward, indicating her undivided attention. Dio slipped his finger between the folds of paper and carefully ripped along the edge. His tail was swishing back and forth quickly in his excitement. When he finally managed to open it he paused for a second. 'Is it a card? Or, maybe it could be money? Gift certificate? Maybe it's a note or-'Merci growled, "Dio stop guessing and just finish opening it! Other people are waiting." Her tone was mildly disapproving. If the teenager could stick a tongue out at her, he probably would have. Instead he just parted the top of the envelope and dipped his fingers inside to free his gift from it's wrappings.Cinderfae Cinder chuckled slightly glancing over at Merci, "let him diddle around with the paper if he wants - I don't have anywhere to be." The pilot smirked slightly, "though would figure he has more fun with the paper then with the actual gifts." Dio would find once he ripped the paper open that inside was a small package with a dozen well made book labels with a galaxy theme. An envelope within also held a small gift card with a sizable amount on it for one of the nicer and more expensive book stores in the area. The card and labels were neatly stacked upon a small thin book, the book was a compilation of short poems and sonnets about stars. The gift was from Cinder. Rhys stayed curled up for sometime before actually opening his eyes and stretching slightly. He'd never experianced a holiday like this and was still somewhat confused about it, the whole early morning wake up wasn't settling well with him either. But he was up and the coffee and food was pretty good, after a few moments he started opening his gift it was a decent sized box and had a bit of heft to it. Peeling the paper off Rhys blinked slightly, the box declared that inside was the most advanced gaming platform of the year. Turning the box over he looked at the various aspects of the game but it wasn't until he saw the games Cinder had included that he smiled, one was pretty straight forward a first person shooter, the next some sort of rpg, and the last a collection of 'classic' arcade games one of which was called Space Invader. Tek bobbed up and down watching the others tear at the paper on their presents the little wisp waited patiently or as patiently as a wisp could before rustling the paper of it's package. Pausing from his curious inspection of the game Rhys leaned over chuckling softly, "alright, lets see what you got." Tek clung to Rhys arm as the boy tore the paper off it's present inside there was a large package of crayons and a thick coloring book. Rhys laughed slightly watching as Tek moved down his arm to curiously lift the top of the book and move over the first page. "Here...I think I have an idea of what you need to do." Rhys took a few crayons from the package and laid them on the book. After a moment of pushing the crayons around the little wisp got one righted and started making a meandering line over the page. Cinder laughed, "well at least it can get the crayons up - I wasn't sure it would be able.""And don't think we are done yet, plenty more gifts down here," leaning down Cinder came up with more presents for each. Quickly the pilot passed the presents out until each had at least five different packages of various sizes in front of them. Once she'd passed out all of what was under the tree Cinder moved over toward Merci and without pomp or show simply leaned down and picked the smaller woman up, then sat in Merci's seat and set the Kitsune gently on her lap. Rhys rolled his eyes slightly but then turned his attention to his other gifts, Tek wasn't really paying attention to the gifts at the moment but instead was having fun pushing around the various balls of colored wrap over the floor occasionally making them shoot into the air as the wisp pushed them. Merci` Merci gasped when she was picked up, but wasn't afraid of being dropped in the least. Not to mention that she liked her new perch much better. She settled herself against the other woman and opened her own gift. Her fingers slid between the folds of paper and she removed it without having to tear the pretty paper. Dropping the wrappings on the floor she opened the lid to the box in her lap and she couldn't help the wicked grin that passed over her face. "Is this a present for me? Or for you?" She teased as she lightly elbows the pilot she was sitting on. Inside was a very lurid set of lingerie. Dio's visible eye widened and he looked up at Cinder with obviously joy. 'Thank you so much, this is incredibly thoughtful of you.' He carefully placed the gift back inside the package and set it aside.
He was momentarily distracted by Tek and his antics. It was good that everyone was having such a good morning. Even Rhys though he looked like he was having a hard time staying awake. 'Ooo there are more presents right? I'll get them.' He drifted over to the tree and pulled out the gifts that were from Merci. He really did love all the gaily wrapped gifts and the sense of wonder and enjoyment. Christmas morning was really wonderful.
He delivered the packages to their recipients. Dio set a small package on the ground next to Tek and then gave other more sizeable boxes to Cinder and Rhys. The fox woman placed the lid on her box and leaned over to kiss the pilot on the cheek. "Need me to move so you can get that easier? Also if you don't like what I got we can always trade them in for something else." Merci was obviously a little nervous. Though she was more nervous about what she got for Rhys. They didn't really know each other well yet, and it made shopping for him difficult. Cinderfae Cinder grinned watching the Fox woman with her gift, reaching up she scratched her ears gently, "well just a little bit...there's more to go with it as well, but that can wait until everyone is done unwrapping things." The pilot relaxed some before shifting her gaze over toward Rhys and his gift, Rhys having to have his tailoring done all custom was a problem at times but always made sure that when needed Cinder would know his measurements. Rhys looked over to the large flat box from Merci, wrinkling his brow a bit he started unwrapping it - he recognized the shape of the clothing box once the paper was off. He considered a moment what his second adoptive mother might have gotten him before finally pulling the top of the package open. The first thing he noticed was the smell, and then pushing the shiney tissue paper aside the boy grinned a little. Inside was a very nice custom fitted leather jacket. "Oh! Thank you, Merci - it's beautiful." Pulling it out he turned the jacket over in his hands touching the material fondly.Smiling warmly Cinder nipped one of Merci's fox ears gently, "Good call that one." Reaching over Cinder pulled the rather heavy large box assigned to her from Merci close to them. Moving the Kitsune in her arms some she starts pulling the paper off, "I have faith that you know me well enough that whatever you got is perfect." Opening the box up Cinder smiled looking over the gift, the smell of leather once again was rather pronounced as she looked down at a pair of well made black leather boots. They were thick and heavy with squared toes just like she liked them, "now I was right you do know me very well. Those are perfect and now you won't have to worry about me wearing crazy alien boots when we got places." Cinder turned and gave Merci a sound kissing before relaxing again, her gaze shifting over the others in the area. "Just about done then?"Tek wasn't really sure what all the excitement was about, but as more paper fell the wisp darted over sending the colorful balls of refuse hurdling through the air. Merci` Dio wanted to go through his box more carefully, but he didn't want Tek to be left out. He leaned down and waved the little wisp over 'Tek there's a present for you!' The teenager indicated one of the boxes and carefully tore the paper for the little stone. He knew that Tek could probably have ripped into it himself, but he couldn't help wanting to assist him. Especially since the wisp was all over the place in excitement. Dio's fingers made short work of the paper and he balled it up in his hands, revealing a remote control car.Merci watched her fiend and she gave Rhys a sheepish look. "He plays with all the appliances, I figured he would like a little machine of his own to dink around with. If he breaks that one it's no big deal." She just didn't want the little wisp to feel left out. Her body leaned against the woman whose lap she was in, and she smiled a bit. Gifts were great, but this was what she'd really wanted. For the first time in a very long time, she had a family. Not only were they all together, but it seemed everyone was happy. Her green eyes moved over to Cinder and she leaned close. Merci brushed her nose back and forth against the other woman's and she murmured quietly, "Merry Christmas Cinder. I'm glad you're home." The kitsune relaxed, and buried her face into her lover's neck. She breathed in the scent of her and just sighed in contentment. This was honestly the best day she could have ever imagined. Cinderfae Tek's attention went back toward the box once it was indicated that it was for him. Bobbing around the box the little wisp touched it curiously with his little aura. Rhys grinned a bit looking over at the toy, "I think you had a very good idea." Reaches over and opens the box for the little wisp before turning the vehicle over and starting to put the batteries in. "Lets get this working for you." Cinder smiled and tightened her arms around Merci a moment, "it's not done yet...I have one more thing for you." Moving the other woman over some she leans over the edge of the chair and picks up a small jewelry box hidden next to her cheroot case. Curling her arm around Merci she snugs the kitsune up close and then opens the case turning it showing her a set of very pretty rings, "I figured with being landside like I am - I should finally make you an honest woman." Grins a bit. Tek's little aura over his new toy and without thought or attention to the other going ons. The little car zips through the room throwing paper this way and that and creating a rather loud noise. Merci` Merci's eyes got round and she covered her mouth to hush the gasp that she couldn't stifle. It was so beautiful, and perfect! Her gaze seemed to go from the box, back to Cinder, and then to the jewelry box again. Not even Tek whipping through the room like a crazy man could distract her. The kitsune's fingers slowly curled around the box and she liberated it from Cinder's grasp. Her mouth opened and she finally managed, "You can't be serious, are you serious? I don't have anything for you! I just, I mean I don't have anything like this. I..." Her voice seemed to choke off at the end and tears welled up in her eyes. She threw her arms around the woman she loved, and she just hugged her. The teenager could tell something was up, but honestly he didn't want to interrupt whatever it was. He instead floated over by Rhys and watched Tek enjoy his new toy. 'He's very fast in that thing isn't he?' Some of the joy his host was feeling bubbled over to him, and he couldn't help broadcasting happiness through the empathy that all fiends seemed to have.
Dio's attention turned to his "brother", 'Are you going to try your jacket on? Merci had to get it made cause she didn't want it to bind on your wings.' He'd gone with her when she'd ordered it. He remembered that she'd been very specific about measurements and everything. His hand inched over and he tugged his box closer, turning his visible eye toward it he started leafing through the contents. He was excited about new book things, they were always welcome. After all, Dio was trying to build his own library.Cinderfae Tightening her arms around the smaller woman Cinder smiled, "of course I'm serious." Cinder closed her eyes and enjoyed the closeness for a while before tilting her head and giving Merci a good kissing wrapping her arms tightly around her again, "we'll have to figure more out later...but I figure the ring you can wear now if you like...I got the darker diamonds so they look more purple then pink." Smiling some Cinder looked more content then she had in a long time. Rhys eyed Cinder and Merci getting a general idea of what was going on but a lot like Dio he didn't really want to barge in. "Ah sure, it looks really nice." Sitting up some he got up and folded his wings before pulling the jacket on - having been cut for him his wings slide through the extra openings easily enough, noting the fit he grinned a bit. "It feels good," the teen flexed his arms and then his wings in the jacket. Rhys gaze went over toward Cinder and Merci again and speaks more softly ... "er...so does this mean your my brother?"The little wisp was more then a bit excited, Tek swerved from side to side and finally spun and crashed xyrs little car into the table. Dropping out from the car the little wisp's aura flickered in amusement as if xe was giggling. Merci` Merci lifted the ring out of the box and she looked at her hands. It was the left ring finger, if she remembered correctly. She slipped it onto her finger and she held it out to look at it. "Seriously you know how to make me act like a girl don't you?" Her tone was teasing, but it was obvious that she was pretty overcome with emotions at that particular moment. Dio glanced up from his labels and arched his pierced brow at Rhys. 'Well I suppose in a way. I'm not really Merci's child, and neither are you. It would be nice to pretend though yes?' He put his things down and drifted over to where Tek crashed. He righted the car for him and turned it around so he could play some more if he wanted to.The kitsune leaned over and gave Cinder a solid kiss before she slipped from her lap. "Alright guys, we should probably get you guys fed properly. Seraph has real food in the kitchen, and I thought it would be fun to go for a ride in the snow." Her cheeks were happily flushed when she addressed the room. She was pretty much determined that they were going to spend the day, as a proper family. The black fiend looked up from the toy car and he darted over to his box of goodies. 'Let me put my things away! I'll be back!' and with that he rushed out of the room, his haul clutched to his chest.Merci smiled and she glanced at Cinder, she leaned back over and kissed her again before she headed off into the kitchen. She wanted to be sure everyone was properly stuffed before she drug them all out for Christmas fun time. Cinderfae Cinder grinned a bit holding the kitsune longer, leaning into the kiss she finally let her loose to start corralling up the rest of their makeshift family. While waiting for the boys to gather themselves up Cinder walked out to the small porch with her cheroot case and lighter, pulling one of the scented thin cigars out she lit it and smoked resting against the wall watching the snow outside. Rhys nodded thoughtfully glancing over toward Dio, "suppose it is." Rhys had never had a real family...what Cinder had been building on the estate was all he had to gauge on and truthfully he wouldn't give it up easily. "I'll get my stuff upstairs as well." Gathering his things Rhys darted out of the way as Tek's race car passed by his foot. "And I'll get some real clothing on," talking mostly to himself the teen started up the stairs.

Lack of Booty Joint Cinder & Merci Cinderfae The sun shown brightly through the breakfast nook, wincing Cinder glanced to the window even with the blinds down it was much too bright in the confined space for her. The one redeeming point of the morning was the smell of coffee drifting through the air. "Better then replicated space junk," Cinder murmured while pouring herself a cup. Coffee in hand the now semi retired space pirate made her way to the door to collect the morning paper and mail. Dropping down at the kitchen table Cinder leaned back in the chair, upstairs she could hear Merci getting ready to head downstairs. After taking a few sips of her coffee she idly turned her attention to the mail. Wrinkling her brow Cinder's attention went to a thick envelope from Brenson & Sons, their bank. Taking another drink of her coffee she opened the letter with a slice from a kitchen knife. Dumping the contents out her curiosity turned to a frown as she read the bank statement and message. Merci` Merci trailed down the stairs with a half yawn. The smell of freshly brewed coffee and the lack of another body in bed drew her from her sleep. Her long red hair was freshly brushed and she was pulling it up into a loose pony tail as she entered the kitchen. Sometimes it was a strange sight to not see Seraph in there puttering around, but this morning it was a bit of a relief. He tended to enjoy baking sweet things, and Merci was on a bit of a crusade against the muffin top she was starting to develop. She wandered over to the cupboard and pulled down a mug, turning it right side up and filling it with the hot dark liquid that helped lure her from her slumber. "Morning love." Merci tossed a glance at her partner before her brow furrowed. Cinder had a distinctly unhappy look on her face. "Everything alright?" Merci flicked her tail nervously as she cradled the coffee cup in her hands and wandered over to look over the pirate's shoulder. Hells bells. The kitsune's ears flattened out and she cursed herself for staying up late last night. If she'd gotten up earlier she could have gotten the statement and tried to do something about this situation before Cinder had to get involved. Cinderfae Shifting her gaze over Cinder relaxed slightly upon seeing the kitsune pausing to admire the other woman before going back to the matter at hand. "Looks like there's a problem with the money, we're out of it." Never one good with small talk Cinder flipped the page up so Merci could get a look at the paper, "never was good with this honest civilian lifestyle." Sighing Cinder stretched her legs out, taking a long drink of her coffee. "So, we need more money. I think I have some Rombarian Crystals we can liquidate - there called diamonds here. But that is only a short term solution." Dropping the letter on the table Cinder considered what she knew of the planet, "looks like we'll need to figure a job out - not that familiar with the local area though and what would bring in the best profits." Lack of money never really bothered Cinder, because she didn't have a problem with going and taking some when she needed it. Merci` Merci heaved a sigh and forced herself next to Cinder, rubbing her thigh against the other woman's as she sat down. "It's my fault," she muttered with a sigh, "Dio has this insane obsession with old and rare books. At first I didn't see a problem because they are sort of an investment. They tend to go up in value as time goes on, but I didn't pay close enough attention to the accounts till I got a call from Oliver." Oliver was the man from Brenson & Sons that handled their portfolio of accounts, IRA's and CD's. He'd originally thought that their accounts were compromised, he'd never seen that many large transactions come out in such a short period before. She'd had to assure him that everything was fine, that Merci was in fact the one accessing them. That was when he told her the balances. "I got a job though. I'm working for Twilight Designs part time when they need someone. I've had some hours over the holidays." She finished lamely. Merci watched Cinder carefully. Most of their money came from illegal activities, but now there were children involved. If one of them got caught, or something happened... "I'll figure it out Cinder, it's my fault things are like this in the first place." Cinderfae Reaching over Cinder pulled Merci into her lap, mindful of the mug of coffee she held. "I wouldn't say it's all your fault...this latest seems to be mostly things I just recently purchased."Quirking her brow Cinder pet the small of Merci's back distracting herself from the current discussion for a moment, "how many hours - I don't think I have to tell you that we are accustomed to a very expensive type of living."The front door opened and Clotho wandered into the kitchen the draconian's wings were wrapped around her shoulders. Nodding to the two she made her way to the coffee pot, "expensive because you never learned moderation." "Well it seems others have ideas about it," in response to Clotho, Cinder snatched up a coaster from the table and tossed it toward the draconian. Wincing slightly under the assault Clotho mostly ignored it and stepped over to the two. "What's being talked about then?" Sipping at her coffee Clotho watched the two curiously. "Nothing too exciting...money concerns. Going to need your help to liquidate the Rombarian Crystals." Frowning slightly Cinder pet Merci's tail lightly, even with the diamonds being sold and Merci's job she wasn't sure it would turn out to be enough. "Shouldn't be too hard..." continuing to nurse her coffee Clotho kept her gaze on the two, "have an idea for what your going to do after you run through the money from the sale?"Before answering Clotho Cinder tilted her head to look to Merci to see her response to it all. Merci` Merci shut her eyes and leaned against the taller woman. She was still in a state of euphoria over having her lover home with her. Her voice was a bit quiet and distracted when she answered Cinder's question, "I'm not working a whole lot down there. Just basically poking in and taking care of things when Athan, Reyna and the Fiends need to be elsewhere. The pay is good though, one thing I'll say is they aren't stingy with the employees." The kitsune sighed quietly and let her eyes slide open as she lifted the mug to her lips to take a drink. "I don't think it's going to be the answer to our problems at all." Cinder didn't have to tell her about the standard of living she'd become accustomed too. The rather opulent old Victorian was just the tip of the ice burg. Merci liked to wear nice clothes, leather mostly, and it wasn't cheap. Not to mention she supported Vance's online poker addiction, Seraphs baking fetishes, and Dio's recent buyout of every rare bookstore she could find. Not to mention upkeep on the old place, a landscaping company came out and dealt with the property. The furniture was all antique and period. There was a massive amount of wood, and it had to be stripped, polished, waxed, buffed and shined every now and then. Merci certainly wasn't going to do it so she hired outside help to do what Seraph didn't get done on his own. All in all unless they planned on major downsizing and belt tightening, they were going to have to find another reliable source of income. And Merci didn't fancy Cinder leaving again so soon after she got home. If she couldn't think of something, the ex pirate would just disappear and do something that could get her hurt or killed to solve the problem. The ears on the top of the kitsune's head pricked up at the sound of Clotho coming into the kitchen, and they cocked toward the noise. She listened quietly to the exchange and sighed quietly, "Do we have to get rid of the diamonds? I really like them." Her green eyes moved over to the Draconian and she heaved a small sigh, "As far as ideas for what to do, not as of yet. We'll figure something out, we always do." Cinderfae "But it'll only be a margin of what we'd need to keep this place up and running...as well as keep up with everyone's hobbys." Frowning Cinder glanced over to Clotho suspecting the Draconian would have an idea, having known her as long as she had it wasn't like her to randomly bring up such things without reason. "Could always knock over a local bank or something ... less travel that way." Clotho smirked slightly taking another drink from her mug, "but you want to continue living here so it wouldn't be such a good idea.""Such a voice of reason," throwing Clotho a sour look Cinder rested back in her chair and tweaked Merci's side lightly, "and I'm not going to let you try and bully me into retirement.""How about a new line of work...something that is less likely to get you maimed or arrested..." Grinning slightly Clotho raised an eye ridge as she asked the question. Sighing Cinder leaned into Merci resting her face against the other woman's neck a moment before whispering conspiratorially, "and this is how they get you..." a hint of amusement was in her voice. Speaking up Cinder straightened some in her chair, "what are you plotting?""Business venture actually," glancing over to Merci, Clotho smiled. "I've made some contacts and I'm thinking of opening a bar...probably wouldn't even have to sell all the diamonds to become partners - I'll need partners as it is if I want it to work."Merci` Merci huffed quietly, "I am not going to bully you into retirement, and anyway whats so wrong with settling down. I had to quit doing dangerous things when I got the snakes. Anyway Cinder you have a child to think about now, you can't be flying off on a whim anymore." There was a voice in the back of her head, the one she recognized as her shoulder demon, giggling at the fact she'd gone there. It was a low blow, and she knew it, but Merci would do just about anything to not have to live without Cinder again. "Anyway, I don't think I could juggle everything without another set of hands. Two fiends, Rhys, all the snakes and then Fiona calling to borrow money all the time I can't be everywhere at once." The half demon cocked her head to the side when she thought about Clotho's suggestion. Running a business wouldn't be that hard. Oliver handled all the investments, but a life of crime meant that you knew how to market yourself and how to handle large amounts of money. To be really successful you had to get a good grasp of economics on a large scale. Merci glanced toward Cinder and shrugged a shoulder, "I would have to be available to take the shifts at the shop when it came up. Other then that though, I don't know why we wouldn't be able to devote our time to something like that. It would be interesting to have a legitimate business." Cinderfae Cinder sighed slightly, the kitsune was right to some degree and though she wouldn't admit it she was getting older which made her usual flights of fancy harder to accomplish. Plus somehow she was wanted in the People's Republic and Draconian Empire - usually she dodged being wanted in both at the same time ... being on so many radars made her usual hunting grounds dangerous. Plus she did have a child to look after...not that she knew anything about that but it was still her responsibility and despite being an outlaw in more ports then she wasn't, she did have a sense of responsibility for somethings. "...do you know anything about running a business," shifting Merci on her lap the old pirate turned her gaze to Clotho with a touch of challenge. She knew the Draconian had lead almost as entertaining of a life as herself. Clotho met Cinder's gaze and smiled slightly flashing her teeth as she does; to someone that wasn't familiar with draconians they may not have recognized it as a rude gesture - Cinder however didn't waiver her gaze as she waited for her answer. "Yes I do, if you remember correctly my father had his own business and for the years before I left home I helped him." Cinder shifted uneasily at that, meantion of Clotho's father, Hephaestus always set her on unease; she'd never gotten along with the inventor ... "Fine," Cinder's gaze went to Merci and studied the woman's reaction tot he whole thing before continuing, "how much to become part of this thing..."Merci` Merci's smile was quick and honest. This would give Cinder a real tie to this place. She knew that the pirate loved her, but wanderlust could be a funny thing sometimes. Having an investment, a real honest to the gods monetary reason would make things off world seem less pressing. She leaned her torso into Cinder and wrapped her arms around her neck. Selling off the last of the diamonds, or anything else they had to sacrifice for this would be worth it. Even if it turned into a sinkhole for funds, it would give Cinder something to do to feel busy. Which meant she would stay longer. "I know a bit about how to get licenses, it shouldn't be that hard. Liquor and business, if we're going to sell food then there are a couple other classes that have to get taken." Honestly this couldn't have happened at a better time either. Now that Dio was older he wouldn't have to be glued to her all the time, which meant if she had to work the bar, he wouldn't be floating around behind her all the time. People were used to humanoid strangeness like her, but Dio was all whole other ball of wax. He looked odd enough it put some people off. Not great for a budding business. Cinderfae "Well when it comes to funds I have some," Clotho grins slightly and glances to Merci winking quickly before continuing, "shouldn't have to sell all the gems. But sell off a few and I'll see about getting papers around for you." Clotho looks pointedly toward Cinder, "has to look legitimate to get a license. Rhys should have some too anyways.""Just make sure your contacts are good - I'd hate to have to come out of retirement to shoot someone." Cinder grumbled slightly but relaxed the extra cuddling from the woman in her lap calming her. "I'll get the gems around once I get done with my coffee...though there are plenty of other questions..." taking a drink from her mug she glanced to Clotho and then Merci. "Do you have a location in mind...or a name?" "Found a fairly decent property in town...rent seems good. Haven't thought on things like the name though," Clotho shrugs slightly before glancing to the other two, "either of you two have an idea?" Merci` Merci looked thoughtful and she shrugged a shoulder "What type of crowd are you looking to draw in? Drunken college kids? Ravers? Goths? Are you planning on making it Techno with loud music and lights or something a little bit lower key? I mean all of that matters right? I think a name is the last thing we should be worried about. I'll pull up the stuff I have on laying out a business plan. You know we don't have to front all the money ourselves right off the bat, we could try and get some sort of a loan from the bank or even some sort of a grant. We are single women looking to start a business, they have a lot of help for things like that." Merci leaned away from Cinder and picked up her coffee again. She inhaled the scent, no cheap instant coffee here. This was the good stuff, and she took another long sip before she leaned back against her lover again. "Maybe we should all come up with some ideas and come back to this when we have an idea about renovations, who we go to for our whole sale and whatnot. Then we can come up with a decent business plan to take to get the license." Cinderfae Clotho leaned against the counter considering the questions, "lower key..." smirking slightly she glanced to Cinder, "we get too rowdy of a crowd they might not make it out alive..."Cinder snorted slightly, "If they're paying me to be there I promise to extend some restraint...what's the place you were looking at like?""Looking for a quieter sort of setting I think, has a bar already wood and still good just needs a bit of polish. There are wooden details that are the same as well." Clotho considered a moment before glancing to Merci, "I'll get what funds I have together and you start looking at loans and the rest - might be better to use other resources even if we can pull all the money together...don't want to draw too much attention if we can help it."Cinder sighed slightly when it came to cutting out drawing attention, "get it going and I'll do whatever...I've got funds and I do know a thing or two about bars."Merci` Merci glanced back and Cinder and poked her in the side gently. "I promise it won't be as boring as you think it will be love. Anyway you'll get to come home and deal with Fiends, Medusa and kids. Which I promise you is entertaining." She leaned over and brushed her lips across the other woman's cheek. She finished off her coffee and put the empty mug on the table. "I'll talk to Oliver and see what kind of financing we can get. I would think that it shouldn't be to difficult. We've kept enough money in that bank that they will probably give us a sizable loan if we need it. It's nice to have something like that to draw off of anyway, in case we need to hire help." Merci got up and stretched, her back arching. "I'll probably have something worked out for you to look at tomorrow." Merci looked down and Cinder and she clasped her hands in front of herself. "Can we keep most of the diamonds? It comes in handy when I have to do something not entirely legal." Cinderfae Cinder grumbled good naturedly and pulled the fox demon closer to her, using Merci's closeness to protect her side. "I know it won't be...might even be interesting." Sighing she finished her coffee, "and now time to get moving...you start on what you need and I'll take care of liquidating a bit of funds - don't worry I'll keep some diamonds just for you."Clotho nodded slightly, "alright, I'll get what I have around about the place...let me know once you've talked to your bank."Merci` Merci leaned over and kissed Cinder on the top of the head before pulling away from her. "I'll go call Oliver and check some things online. Thanks Clotho, this is really nice of you to bring us in." She gave the Draconic woman a smile before she picked up her empty coffee mug and walked to the sink. "And think lovely, it's easier to launder money through a legitimate business venture if we ever do have to go shoot some people." She was mostly kidding, mostly. Merci rinsed her mug out and placed it on the drying rack. "Anyway I'll catch you girls later. I have to go bug the bank." With a swish of her tail she walked out of the room, already thrilled with the fact that she would have a good excuse to get out of doing whatever chores Seraph could come up with.

The Mysterious Shop Joint RP Over AIM Cinder & Kip Frowning Rhys peered into the murk of the stairwell, ahead of him he could see Clotho's wings the draconian had her wings held out away from her body. Most wouldn't pick up on the significance of her posture but Rhys had traveled with her enough that it made him a tad uneasy. Her wings were up so she could have better access to her gun, if she'd been human having her wings down wrapped around her would have been like being caught with your arms crossed when trouble hits. Rhys kept his own dark blue wings resting tightly on his shoulders, the boy figured if trouble hit arms crossed or not he wouldn't be much help. Out of the small group there was a hardly noticed addition that seemed to be rather enjoying the darkness, Tek darted back and forth on the stairs dodging back and forth under Rhys feet in the deep shadows. "So we need these papers because?" Rhys had a general idea that for some reason people needed papers out here but it didn't make a whole lot of sense to him, not that he'd ever had much experience with this sort of thing. Clotho sighed and took a moment to glance back as she came to the bottom of the stairs, "papers are very important here, you need them to open a business and well do most things. Your mother's job...makes it so we can't just go through ... normal lines. So we are getting our own." Frowning slightly Rhys nodded after a moment, he had a strained relationship with the woman that's DNA helped create him. He understood Clotho's meaning, his mother was a criminal so they didn't want the people in charge to catch wind of her. Though considering the distance they had come and the technology he had seen so far he also suspected that her ship might be part of the reason. As he moved off the stairs his eyes adjusted and he looked over what appeared to be a small bazaar of sorts underground. Clotho's eyes went to a large nearby tent, frowning a moment she looked to Rhys, "I want you to stay out here...and stay out of the way. If there is trouble hit your homing beacon and I'll come and get you." Rhys sighed and nodded, even if there was trouble he didn't have any intention of hitting the call for help if he could help it, "I'll be fine...don't worry. You be careful as well." Cinder wouldn't have let him come at all, but he learned early on that Clotho thought he should have a bit more freedom and less sheltered which gave him some leverage at times. Nodding Clotho turned and started toward the tent, after a moment she disappeared within. Sighing Rhys leaned back against a nearby wall. --------------------- Rhys sat waiting for Clotho, it had only been ten minutes but to him it felt much longer. The boy caught movement out of the corner of his eye. Tektite moved along the wall as if finding something of interest, crooking a brow Rhys moved further along the wall following the fiend further into the bazaar. In the back of his mind he knew he should stay where he had split with Clotho, but she hadn't told him not to move and it was a bazaar so perhaps he'd find something of interest. Rhys muttered softly realizing they had moved quite a ways, "what exactly are we going to see..." Tek didn't answer and continued to bob along pausing only to investigate patches of deeper shadow, it wasn't long before Rhys found himself in front of a dark door. The door was discretely hidden against the wall but appeared to be of expensive make, peeking inside he could see movement and part of a counter, it appeared to be some sort of shop. Frowning a moment in Tek's general direction the boy pushed the door open his curiosity getting the best of him, "hello?" A brown snakeman quickly came over and wasn't doing a good job hiding his attitude. "You are late... please come this way," he took Rhys' wrist a lot more gentle then you would think, "take a seat and wait I think you have a spider on you". Thomas swatted at the sprite then stopped. "wait... who are you?" Rhys wrinkled his brow slightly but was taken by surprise and found himself following the snakeman, "um...I don't think I'm who you think I am..." Tek bobbed off to the side and darted quickly around and down to the floor exploring the snakeman's shadow, "I'm Rhys...who were you expecting?" As odd things went Rhys hadn't grown up normally to say the least so the Medusa's appearance didn't particularly shock him. Thomas rolled his eyes. "Sorry..." he grumbled, " I was expecting someone else." (XD he elaborates so much huh?) "Can I get you something to drink? Tea? Coffee?" *he gave the curious wisp a light swat at with his tail* Rhys paused a moment considering the offer, he'd been drugged more then a few times through drink. Shaking his head slightly after a moment he responded, "no thank you..." more softly as an after thought he added, "I only drink things I prepare myself." The wisp bounced in the air once, thinking it was now some sort of game Tek hurriedly darted over to the other side of Thomas' tail. Clearing his throat Rhys looked over the shop, "so...what sort of shop is this?" *flick flick* Thomas eyed the little critter for a second before looking back at Rhys. " Oh, welcome to Kip's Medusa shop" (omg it doesn't have a name o_o' I don't think I've ever run into someone asking XD sorry) "Like what you see?" *he ran his hand down his body like he was showing it off* "we offer several things, but I'm not one of them.... exactly" *his eyes shifted at that* "Would you like to meet some of the pets?" *he got a bit of a grin as he hadn't figured Rhys out at all and was a bit curious* Rhys stood a long moment a look of slight panic as Thomas ran his hand over his side and then confusion before turning a carefully neutral expression. He'd been at the space port on Beshee with Clotho and had seen the prostitutes which is what he first had thought Thomas was...but considering Thomas race he wasn't even sure how that was possible. Pushing his confusion away he focused on the question, "um...pets?" Blinking Rhys looked around the area before looking back, "sure yeah - I'd like to see them." He tried to hide the uncertainty in his voice but just a touch of it was evident. Once the flicking of the tail stopped Tek amused itself by bounding between Rhys shadow and Thomas' occasionally moving to the wall closest exploring but not daring to move too far from it's guardian. Thomas spoke flatly "yeah pets...~_-" *he motioned to Rhys to follow* "So do you have a 'type' or anything? We have a pretty good selection." He continued to lead the poor guy down more and more corridors. "So did you get lost and think this was a restaurant or something?" Rhys continued to let Thomas lead him along, "a type...um, I don't think so?" He was getting more confused but figuring he had already come this far he might as well see what sort of things this shop really had. As they continued on his wings tightened around him a nervous reaction of sorts to the situation, "...actually Tek," Rhys gestured to the Wisp that was now about a foot ahead of them moving quickly and curiously over the floor, "found it...I was just curious what sort of place would draw it's attention." His voice on the last was a touch sheepish as he finished speaking. Thomas slowed down and looked at his timid guest, realizing he had rushed him a bit. "So... been having a good day?" Rhys wrinkled his brow slightly at the change of conversation, relaxing slightly at the mundane question, "I suppose so...new sort of place so - lots of things are different." Different seemed the best way to describe things here, good different though he decided. "So...um..." Rhys paused attempting to form the question in his mind hoping to not upset his host, "what...sort of race are you? I can't say I'm familiar with it -" Rhys winced slightly at the last, social skills were not his strong point. "Medusa" *he just answered matter of factly* "Have you ever met one of us?" *he scooted a little closer* "I've met people with wings... can you fly with them?" *his fingers wiggled as he caught himself from reaching to touch them* Rhys shaked his head slightly, his wings rising slightly as the Medusa moved closer. He wasn't particularly use to others being close to him but was attempting to not show the snakeman he was nervous. "No I haven't seen a Medusa before...I use to know someone that had fangs like a snake and some scales but they weren't put together as well as you are - " pausing Rhys realized how strange that probably sounded, "it wasn't natural..." Frowning he decided that probably didn't help either. "And no, I can't fly...though I tend to be pretty light and I can glide with them. There are places with low gravity parks in them...I could probably fly there." A slight smile came to his face for a moment, Clotho had told him about the parks and promised to take him to one someday. His wing raised slightly as he caught the movement of Thomas' fingers but he continued on as stoically as he could manage. "That's cool... Some medusa have wings too..." *he shrugged* "anyway... so you travel a lot?" *he started to go down the hall towards a larger door* "...can they fly? The medusa?" Rhys looked ahead to the door more then a touch of curiosity in his system over what would be behind it at this point. "And...I didn't really travel until recently," Rhys frowned faintly, "I didn't really get out much before." Tek moved ahead bouncing in the air in front of the door waiting for the two. "Oh, um yeah they can... well I think they mostly glide too, but get up into the rafters a lot. But don't worry, they don't usually drop on guests *GRIN*" *he turned the handle to the door slowly* If something catches your blue eyes, let me know. *he opened the door up careful to not crunch the wisp* Unsure what a gliding winged medusa would look like Rhys predictably glanced upward toward the ceiling. He had enough time to note that it appeared 'safe' before the door started to open. Tek darted around quickly moving around inside the door and along the wall using the shadow there as they moved into the new area. "So...Medusas...you sell them..." a look of concern came over Rhys face as he peered inside the door curiously. He was pretty sure being in a shop like this - whatever it was, likely was on the long list of things Cinder would say he wasn't suppose to be doing. Thomas walked into the room like he was doing a big reveal and stopped. The only other medusa he saw was Viktor. "Where the hell is everyone?" He could not have been more annoyed. "We have a new guest." Viktor got way too excited at seeing someone new. "HI!" The white snake wiggled over to Rhys. "Nice to meet you! *he offered out his hand* Oh Chandre is here too. *at that moment a dragon medusa lady dropped out of the rafters quite close to them* Rhys looked Viktor over curiously as he moved closer, the difference in the Medusa's appearance was interesting to him. Rhys looked to Viktor's hand a moment before it kicked in that he was expecting him to shake it, quickly he shook the other's hand only to start and jump back as Chandre appeared quite randomly; Rhys blushed deeply as he realized he had very nearly screamed allowed. Clearing his throat he looked over at the other new arrival curiously as well, "Hello...everyone," Rhys took a slight step toward Thomas finding a bit of comfort in the snakeman he'd been around the longest, "how many were you expecting to be in here?" Viktor spoke "Oh! yeah ^_^' I was just cleaning, everyone is um in their rooms. I can go bring some out if you like." *he smiled at Rhys* Thomas made sure to get a little in between the two of them as a safety barrier. Chandre butted in. "So sweet thing, care to come in and sit down? *she gave him a look over* "Here for a companion or just company?" Rhys' mind once again attempted to figure out what he assumed was a proposition from Chandre with her snake body. He glanced toward her bosom once and flushed before shaking his head, "...curiosity more then anything." Tek picking up on the discomfort of it's guardian moved around to flank the strange dragon medusa lady, widening it's bit of wispy shadow as much as it could Tek pounced at her tail - which had little to no effect or then to make Rhys smile faintly. Clearing his throat Rhys steadied himself before speaking, "I'm Rhys..." "Oh I like curious... " She went to move closer but was a bit confused by the floating wisp* "Um what is that thing?" Thomas offered to a couch, "care to sit down Mr. Rhys? It might be a little more... comfortable." Chandre gave Rhys a little boob wiggle. "I'm Chandre. Just visiting from out of town cutie. Nice to meet you." Rhys glanced back to Chandre's tail as she spoke still smiling faintly at Tek's antics, "That's Tektite...I watch after it. What it is sort of complicated. I think Tek is trying to pounce on your tail now though," his smile turned to a slight grin before glancing over to Thomas. "Sure...that could be nice." Looking to the couch Rhys moved over to sit. Perching on the edge he brought his wings up from his body some so they wouldn't get crushed as he sat on the couch. Rhys eyes went to Chandre's chest when she wiggled, clearing his throat slightly he glanced to the floor to keep from staring, "it's nice meeting you." After a moment of floor staring he glanced over to Thomas, "so...the shop sells Medusa." Frowning a bit Rhys considered this again, he didn't like the idea of owning other people but it didn't make sense to him that Medusa would be selling each other, "...and they don't mind being sold?" Chandre smiled. "oh my! Tektite it is nice to meet you. Your so strong, would you mind letting go of my delicate tail?" *she wiggled her finger at him like he was a fish in a tank* Thomas pulled up a chair to sit to one side of Rhys. "I know right? seems a little strange."*he let out a soft sigh* Its actually for the better. We get to meet new people and go on adventures, which is good. The shop isn't a place for most medusa to just live. But it is nice seeing your friends and offspring or whatnot go off and adventure. Most come back to visit from time to time." *Thomas stretched his neck with a crack* "My master is very good at placing us in good homes." Stretching his wings some Rhys leaned back after a moment once he was sure they would be comfortable. At Chandre's request Tek bounced slightly in the air toward her as if showing a touch of bravado before dropping down to the side and slinking along her shadow toward Rhys. "It does seem strange...but put like that not as much." To him it sounded a bit like him watching over Tek, "so your master meets everyone that gives a Medusa a home?" To Rhys it sounded a bit better to put it that way instead of using the word buy. Although he was pretty sure it was just him and the three Medusa Rhys glanced over the room wondering who this Master might be. Thomas wiggled his tail tip at the wisp making it rattle softly. "Yes, we are well taken care of. A very high end pet if that helps. Trust me, we aren't treated like dogs or cats." *he licked his lips* "and if some human *his voice couldn't hide his dislike of the word* is a poor fit, then we step in and fix it." Chandre sat on the couch beside Rhys. "I bet you would make for an interesting master someday.... " *her eyes slitted with a smile* Rhys glanced to the sound of the tail and then back to Thomas, a look of concern and understanding came to his face. "That's good..." picking up on Thomas' discomfort Rhys reached over and offered a small squeeze of the hand before dropping his hand back to his lap, he knew what it was like to be hurt and suspected that was something the Medusa was remembering. The mood didn't settle in long as Chandre moved over, flushing slightly he glanced toward the 'very' female creature, "I might ... uhm, yeah just," Rhys cleared his throat, Tek started stalking through the shadows up the couch toward Chandre, it didn't know what she was doing to it's master but Tek wasn't going to stand for it. "I'm not sure I'd be a good 'master' ... but I think Medusa are very interesting..." Thomas didn't pull his hand away from the squeeze, which shocked him. It was a gesture of comfort he wasn't prepared for and it shook him up a little. "Mr. Rhys, would you... like to... go to the kitchen with me so you can get a snack or drink?" *he spoke a little detached* Chandre leaned a little closer to him, " Oh I think you might. I'd recommend a dragon one.... I bet that could be fun." *she wiggled her finger at Tek again letting him know she saw him* Rhys glanced over to Thomas and then back at Chandre and then nodded hurriedly to the brown snakeman, "uhm, yes I think I need a drink." Tek paused considering the situation, the snake dragon lady saw it, before it could consider the next best possible route of attack it picked up that Rhys was getting ready to go somewhere - which ruined it's plans. Flushing slightly Rhys nodded glancing to Chandre, "Dragon types...look very," he cleared his throat slightly, "nice." It wasn't that Rhys had never seen a female before, he had of course - just never one with so much ... boobs. Thomas escorted Rhys towards the kitchen "Sorry, its her job to push her breed. ... nice boobs though huh?" Rhys laughed slightly at the statement flushing again but relaxing, "yeah nice boobs... How many different types of Medusa are there?" "Oh lots actually. First you have your 'regular' ones... ones that look mostly human on top with just a simple tail. The best ones have rattles." *he gave his tail a shake and shot him a grin of silly pride* " Some have three eyes" *he pointed to his forehead*" and dragonlike ones, like Chandre back there. There are others, but that is all we have here right now." *he got down some cups* I'm gonna boil some water for tea, you in?" Rhys grinned slightly glancing to Thomas tail at the shake. Now that he had been around Thomas more Rhys was relaxing and nodded at the offer of tea, "yeah I'd like that." Tek meanwhile took time to investigate the nearby floor of the new room. Before Rhys fully realized he was considering seriously buying a medusa he asked, "Is there anything that someone that was looking to buy one would need to know...specifically?" Thomas hid a little smile. "Oh not too much. We like a lot of the same things others do. Food, drink, a warm bed." *he poured the water making sure to never obstruct Rhys' view of his cup* "I guess the biggest ting is getting to know the right medusa for you. You are going to want one that you can and want to care for." *he looked a little sad* "Its what you would want right?" Rhys nodded slightly his eyes watching his cup out of habit more then anything. Glancing up he watched Thomas a moment hearing the touch of sadness in his voice, "yes, if I was going to have a Medusa I'd want to care for them..." Rhys bit his lip slightly and tilted his head to catch Thomas' eye, "...I wish there weren't horrible people in the world." His words were soft and originally he had meant it as a type of reassurance but what the right words would be never came to mind. Thomas caught the glance and looked away quickly for a second. "Yeah."*he was really fighting curling up his lips to show his fangs with struggling success* "They aren't all bad.... I'm told." *he offered a box of tea choices to Rhys* "If you want to meet anyone let me know. You don't like mouse jerky do you?" Rhys stood a moment unsure of what to do, he was pretty sure that Thomas was hurting and that it was because of another. Tek saved Rhys the worry, the wisp dodged in and out of a nearby cupboard that was left ajar rattling a pot as it brushed against it and drawing Rhys attention to it a moment. "Um, thank you..." Rhys looked to the box and took a black tea, "Tek shouldn't be able to actually ... make a mess," Rhys glanced to the cupboard, "it just tends to be curious." Rhys' gaze drifted back to Thomas and he spoke softly once again, "no not everyone is...but sometimes that isn't very comforting." Dropping the tea bag in the mug he considered a moment, Cinder had Merci around ... which he knew technically wasn't the same as having a Medusa but he didn't see why he couldn't have one around. "I think I would like to see someone...mouse jerky, can't say I've had it. Is it any good?" His question was genuinely curious, without a lot of experience out of the institute he didn't really know what was considered normal or strange food wise as it was. "You know, its pretty good stuff. I like it." *he pulled out a container* "Help yourself." *he took a look for Tek* does it eat or anything? *he tried to follow the clanking*... "sounds like you have met some 'charming' people yourself. .... sorry." Rhys opened the container and peered inside, after a moment he selected a piece of the jerky at random. Taking a small bite he shrugged slightly it didn't taste too bad Rhys decided, "No, Tek doesn't eat. It is...well I watch over it and that's what helps it keep going..." Rhys wondered if Tek would start eating later on, "and...yeah I suppose I have." Rhys gave a quick strained smile before glancing to a nearby door, "I think I would like to see someone though...I'll take care of them." Pausing Rhys remembered the bit about the papers Clotho went over earlier, "...are there a lot of forms if I do get a Medusa?" There was another small clank and Tek appeared from the cupboard, spotting Thomas the wisp moved around the Medusa before settling in his shadow by his tail. Thomas started wiggling his tail slowly playing 'keep this tail over Tek'. "Nope, just a single page." *his face seemed to soften just a tiny bit* "Lets take you to look at a few... I think when you see the right one you will know."*he took a long drink of his tea* "not bad huh?"*he motioned to the jerky* Tek darted back and forth the wisp finding the tail game perhaps too entirely enthralling. Rhys nodded slightly letting Thomas lead on, taking a drink from his tea he held the jerky up slightly, "your right it doesn't taste bad at all - tastes like jerky to me. Though I've only had jerky once before so I'm not an expert or anything." Really he didn't know what he was looking for but he hoped he would know when he saw it like Thomas suggested. Thomas looked into Rhys eyes for a few seconds before speaking. "Ready to go find you a new friend?" *he tried to tap Tek with the very tip of his tail* "I'm ready...er...probably not someone as 'friendly' as Chandre though." Despite the flirting throwing him off Rhys suspected that the whole lots of breasts thing would become embarrassingly distracting. Tek bounced in the air at the tap and then pounced toward the top of the offending tail. Thomas couldn't help but laugh. "Okay, less friendly... probably a good call." *he thought for a second* "You know, I might know someone that is more your speed." *he was clearly off thinking about whoever it was* "Yeah... lets go see if they are still here...." "Alright..." Rhys voice held a touch of curiosity as Thomas lead him, "what kind of Medusa are they?" He did wonder what Thomas thought his speed was but decided he'd find out when he met the new Medusa. Thomas led Rhys to a bedroom door and knocked, giving a little bit of a shout. "Are you open for seeing guests?" Sarraqa ran his long slender fingers through his hair, his fingers moved quickly and rhythmically creating a near perfect braid in his long blue locks; half a dozen other braids already ran through his long hair. As he braided Sarraqa's mind wandered, clearing it became peaceful although tedious the hair care exercise allowed him to relax. Thomas knock on the door interrupted his reverie, frowning he blinked and glanced toward the offending sound. He hadn't been expecting a guest today - the only one scheduled had been interested in female Medusas specifically. Glancing down at the snug shirt on his chest he then looked to the mirror, turning the Medusa glanced over his small but neatly kept room. At least it didn't look too bad, "just give me a few moments ..." Moving toward his closet he pulled the mask attached to his shirt up to cover his eyes, at the closet he pulled on a pair of skull decorated armlets, pulling the feathered contraptions on he took a quick look at himself in the mirror before moving toward the door. He did hope that it was a serious guest, if the one they had been expecting earlier was just window shopping he would feel rather put out. Rhys looked nervously toward Thomas and then the door, doing his best not to shuffle his feet as they waited. After a few minutes the door opened and a new Medusa stood regarding the two, Sarraqa smiled and inclined his head to both his dark blue eyes watching Rhys searchingly a moment. The young man with Thomas Sarraqa noted wasn't the guest that had been expected earlier, the Medusa wondered idly where he had come from. He trusted Thomas' judgement and he knew that the other Medusa was aware of his rather unpleasant experience earlier in the week when it came to finding a master, so he had a feeling this boy was something different all together. Smiling Sarraqa moved back gesturing for the two to enter, the side of his room was set up for guests a small love seat and table sat invitingly enough. "Salutations please come in." Rhys paused a moment before moving forward, a small smile crept to his face as he realized the Medusa Thomas had taken him to meet had a rattle tail as well. The idle thought passed through his mind that he wondered if Thomas had been pushing his own breed to some degree. Rhys looked back to the door with a slight frown as he realized Thomas used the opportunity to head off somewhere. What reserves he might have had dropped as he noticed Tek moving through the shadows around the Medusa's bed. Smiling slightly Rhys looked to the Medusa he'd been left with, the Medusa was pleasing to look at...thinking back on it he realized that all of the Medusa he had met were attractive, some more so then others but none seemed to stick out as unpleasant. "I'm Rhys..." pausing Rhys looked over realizing that Sarraqa was waiting for his lead, moving over to the couch Rhys took a seat - after all it had been offered. "I sort of stumbled onto the shop." Sarraqa smiled slightly, similar circumstances had come in the past - not everyone that stumbled onto the shop had found what they sought but a surprising number had. "But something made you stay..." pausing Sarraqa tilted his head slightly as he regarded Rhys, "what are you seeking?" "...I'm not really sure. I'd be nice to have someone around though...and," frowning he took a moment to consider, "I don't like the idea of owning someone though." Sarraqa lifted a brow slightly, "do you feel you wouldn't be a good Master?" Rhys winced slightly when he heard 'master', "Well I like the Medusa I have met...but well would you have to call me Master?" Smiling Sarraqa coiled his tail and rested near the table, the Medusa paused shifting his gaze over as Tek started to move closer moving into his shadow. "No, I could call you whatever you wished...it seems you already have another attached to you?" gesturing toward the wisp Sarraqa then looked to Rhys. "Oh, yes - " flushing slightly Rhys gestured toward the wisp, "That's Tek...I look after him." "And your looking for more to look after?" Sarraqa spoke kindly as he regarded the young man. Rhys he decided seemed confused but would make a good master if he chose to become one and the empathic part of Sarraqa's mind felt that the boy needed someone. "I suppose..." looking over to Sarraqa Rhys smiled slightly noting the braids, "so...other then hair what sorts of things do you like?" "Hm, well I'm interested in the stories of others...I like to listen." Sarraqa shrugged slightly, "I do hope to find a Master someday and see more of the world." "Oh...well I haven't seen much of this world either. Maybe you'd like to see some of it with me?" Rhys glanced up toward Sarraqa as he spoke. It was interesting that the boy was so intent upon his own needs as well...perhaps more then anything he needed a friend. It made Sarraqa wonder of his living situation. Rhys he realized seemed very lost and out of place. Sarraqa smiled slightly, Rhys he decided likely needed him as much as he needed a master, "I think that could work out rather well...have you met the owner of the shop yet?" Rhys bit his lip and shook his head slightly, "Thomas said something about his Master...but I haven't met them yet..." Another knock came at the door. "Hello, may I come in?" The voice wasn't Thomas'. Sarraqa smiled and glanced to the door and then looked to Rhys, "I think the problem of meeting the shop owner is soon to be fixed." Rhys glanced to the door nervously a moment before nodding, "That's good then..." Sarraqa rose from where he was coiled a moved toward the door, since the Medusa wasn't overly far from Rhys Tek followed along in his shadow moving over along the bottom of the door as if curiously peeking out the other side. "Of course you may," Sarraqa opened the door stepping back to allow the one outside to enter. Kip walked in with a bit of a smile. She gave a little nod to the medusa and then eyed Rhys. "Seems you got to meet our new guest before even I did Sarraqa, I hope he has been kind." *she offered her hand to Rhys* "It is nice to meet you... seems Thomas took a liking to you and got a little ahead of himself." Sarraqa nodded and smiled looking toward Kip, "he has been," the Medusa considered noting the confusion of the young guest but felt that Kip would pick up on that soon enough herself. Rhys held his hand out attempting to give a firm but not too clingy shake back the whole custom was pretty new and somewhat strange to him. "It's nice to meet you as well, I'm Rhys...and I didn't mean to cause any problem..." he didn't know what Thomas had done to get ahead of himself but hoped the Medusa wasn't in trouble for it. "Oh, no problem Sir Rhys." She gave a slight wink, "He can be an... interesting... judge of character, but is usually pretty good about picking out the good ones. Care to join me in my office?" *she paused for a second to check Sarra's reaction* Rhys nodded slightly relaxing some when it seemed his new friend was out of the clear. Sarraqa found that he had a visitor of sorts himself as Kip spoke with Rhys, smiling slightly the Medusa shaked his rattle lightly giving Tek something to keep his attention on. "Your office...sure, that would be good." Rhys smiled slightly glancing back toward Sarraqa and Tek before looking toward Kip again, he wasn't sure what to make of this new humanoid but so far she didn't seem to want to be scary to him which suited him just fine. After a moment Sarraqa glanced up as if feeling Kip's gaze on him, smiling faintly the Medusa nodded very slightly before moving his tail again for the wisp. At the office she pulled out a chair for him. "Well you two seem like a good fit, so there is just one little thing you need." *she pushed out a single page contract* Sarraqa is a very well bred young medusa. He comes from good lines and will make for an interesting companion." *she smiled* Wrinkling his brow Rhys looked over the contract a tad uneasily, it wasn't that he thought he'd ever break any of the rules but that they were spelled out at all in such a manner. "...you really have trouble with people breaking them at times?" His voice sounded a touch saddened as he spoke. Tek had followed along into the office not allowing itself to get too far from it's master. As the two talked it moved around under Kip's desk finding the new dark area entertaining. "I don't really know much about Medusa..." pausing he took a moment to look at the page again and then up, "I can bring him back though to visit with the others? And just visit...right?" Taking Sarraqa home would be nice but Rhys hoped to be able to visit with the other Medusa he had met as well later on. Plus...he didn't want Sarraqa to feel lonely, it was something he was all too familiar with. "I won't break it though..." after a moment Rhys signed his name to bottom of the contract. "Yes." *said very matter-of-factly, but more warmly continued, " Don't worry, you will learn as you go. Oh ad yes, you are always welcome to visit. Feel free to come in at anytime, we are open every day... all hours." *she gave an almost devilish grin and turned the lights down for the fiend* "Excellent." *she took the contact and stored it away* "Take good care of him and the favor will be returned." Rhys relaxed some despite the woman's appearance, the whole bit about owning Sarraqa didn't seem to be as much on her mind as it had been the others. "I can do that...and I will take very good care of him." pausing Rhys considered a moment, "um, how do you handle payment?" He had the card thing that Cinder had given him he wasn't sure how much money it was suppose to give him but as things were he'd never had trouble with getting something he wanted as long as he had it. "Oh, you signed he is yours." *she shook her hand refusing payment as she stood up* "Now... can I get you some tea or anything?" *she opened the door ushering them out of the office* Rhys wrinkled his brow slightly and followed, they weren't actually asking for coin. So maybe it really was just finding homes for those that needed them, the strange shop was still strange but less frightening, "I had some earlier...actually do you have the time. I am pretty sure I've been in here longer then I meant to be...and Clotho is going to be looking for me." Rhys bit his lip slightly, Tek moved along at his heels as he followed the woman. "You shouldn't be ... too... late. How about you take Sarraqa to meet your friends. I will have his stuff sent." Rhys nodded slightly, "I will...I think Clotho will like him." He didn't see the Draconian having trouble with the Medusa...explaining to his mother what exactly happened might be another story altogether. Thomas wandered by drinking some tea. "Hey... how goes it Mr. Rhys?" *his eyes caught Kips' so he scooted a bit back incase he was in trouble* "did you and Sarra hit it off?" *sip* Rhys glanced toward Kip and then to Thomas, "we did...I'm taking him home. We'll be back to visit though." Rhys wondered a moment on what else Thomas' Master had going on...he got the feeling she was much more frightening then first appearances would suggest.

New Snake in the House Joint Cinder & Merci Cinderfae Clotho sighed as she stepped in the house, flickering her gaze over the area she motioned the group behind her inside. "I need to find Cinder and drop off these papers," pausing a moment the draconian glanced over toward Rhys, Tek, and Sarraqa, "you should introduce her to...Sarraqa." Clotho offered a smile of sorts to the snakeman still a touch unsure what the whole thing was about, the Medusa already living on the grounds seemed independent enough but something about the whole arrangement gave her uneasy feelings. Noting the light in the kitchen Clotho strolled toward it, Cinder wasn't readily apparent but Merci` and Seraph seemed to be working on something. Reaching up Clotho rapped lightly on the door frame to get their attention. "Cinder around?" Turning slightly she glanced back at the small group behind her, "got the papers and there is someone you two should meet." Rhys shuffled his feet and glanced over at Sarraqa speaking softly, "there are some other Medusa here...I haven't really met them so...it should be alright."Sarraqa watched the boy a moment before glancing to the kitchen, he knew his young master was ... young but truthfully his parental units never came to mind. Merci` Merci looked up from the confection she was helping Seraph with. He wasn't very imaginative about his cake decorations. Sometimes he asked the fox woman for her help, and she was always happy to play with frosting. Her red hair was twisted up on top of her head with some random fly aways loose around her face. Merci's ears perked up when she heard Clotho and she smiled a little bit. "Hey! Cinder? I think she's working on something in the garage but I could be wrong." She glanced over at Seraph and tilted her head, "Hey Seraph you know where she is?" The Asian Medusa turned his head to look over at his master. If he was really looking at her or not was up for debate however as his eyes were hidden behind a pair of special black sunglasses. "I do believe she mentioned she had some project that she had to attend. However as to her current whereabouts, I am not well informed on the subject." His voice had no inflection when he spoke. Merci put the frosting bag down and wiped her hands on the blue jeans she was wearing. "I can take a look at those papers. Are you going to need us both to sign them?" Her ears were pricked forward with her interest. Her green eyes moved from Clotho to the figures behind her and she arched a brow. It was obvious she was curious, but she decided not to ask. Cinderfae Clotho opened her jacket taking out some papers, "I do have something for you to look over...but for Cinder I have her IDs, and ..." taking an envelope out she passed it over to Rhys, "yours as well, I forgot to hand it to you earlier. You only need to carry the plastic ID - the others should be stored with your mother's stuff documents." Rhys nodded slightly, curiously the boy opened the envelope and took a look at the papers. Then remembering Clotho's prompt stepped into the kitchen and gestured to the Medusa waiting patiently behind him. "Uhm...this is Sarraqa...he's uhm, going to be staying with me." Rhys wings flickered subconsciously. Sarraqa moved forward and inclined his head toward Merci` smiling pleasantly toward the fox woman before him. "Greetings, it is a pleasure." Since he wasn't sure how things were going to go, Sarra for now stuck to being pleasant. Merci` Merci took the papers from Clotho and she glanced down at them. She didn't really read them but her eyes scanned over them really quickly. "I can take the ones for Cinder, and anything that should be kept in the safe." Cinder and Merci had a safe, it wasn't super easy to find actually and took a hammer and a very thin chisel to get to without ruining the floorboards. The fox woman's ears perked up and her green eyes left the page when she was addressed by Rhys. That was really when she noticed the new Medusa. "Sarraqa? What an interesting name." Her gaze moved from Rhys over to the strange new Medusa and she offered him a smile. "Pleasure to meet you too. You won't be the only one here. As you can see." Merci gestured back at Seraph. The Asian looking Medusa looked up from his work and he offered the newcomer a slight bow. His voice was without inflection as he spoke "Greetings to you." He inclined his head to Merci, "Shall I go fetch Vance and Maili so they can be introduced as well?" The kitsune furrowed her brows and she shook her head. "I don't think so, unless you feel like you should. We wouldn't want to be to overwhelming right away. After all I'm sure he'll run into the rest of you eventually." Cinderfae Clotho handed the papers over before stepping to the side and letting the others get acquainted. "I'll go see if I can find her, she'll want to know we have an addition." Smiling Clotho dropped her hand on Rhys shoulder giving it a reassuring squeeze. Sarraqa looked to the other Medusa and inclined his head in that motion he not only greeted Seraph but took a moment to look him over. He wondered some on the other Medusa hearing the names of the others he canted his head slightly glancing to the others, "three other Medusa then?" It was a rather large estate, he reasoned having several Medusa would help keep the place running. "I don't mind meeting everyone..." Sarraqa paused looking over the kitchen considering the number of names mentioned he added more to his thought, "but I can also visit your rooms if it would be more comfortable." He wasn't sure where he would be saying but as they had rooms at the Shop it seemed reasonable that they'd have similar accommodations wherever they were. Rhys let Sarraqa speak to the others and hung back near the door frame resting and keeping his gaze toward the door where Cinder was likely to be entering from. After Tek and his disappearance when he'd first become bonded with the shadow he wasn't sure how his mother would react to another new face. For his part Tek bounced from shadow to shadow amusing himself by chasing after the swish of Sarraqa's tail. Merci` Merci glanced back at Seraph and then over toward Sarraqa, "They actually live in another house. If you'd like to take the time to meet all of them now I'm sure Seraph would show you over there." With the papers still in hand she moved over to the breakfast nook and sat down. She turned her attention back to the papers in her hands. Seraph watched Merci as she became absorbed in the paperwork. He turned his head back toward the newcomer and he gestured toward the kitchen doors. "If you would like to take a few moments I'm sure Maili and Vance would be happy to welcome you. If you don't wish to travel to the guest home we share, I would be pleased to fetch them." The tone of his voice never changed, but neither did the look on his face either. It was like trying to read a machine. Merci put up a hand from where she was at at the table. "Just go get them Seraph. I'm sure he doesn't want to be to far away from Rhys at the moment." Her green eyes never left the page, she was entirely engrossed. "Rhys honey, you don't have to loom in the doorway. Why don't you sit down?" With her words Seraph nodded and looked back to the small group. "I'll be back in three minutes." And with a flick of his tail he was slithering out through the kitchen doors. Cinderfae Sarraqa watched with some amusement as arrangements were made around him, smiling slightly he gave a brief bow of gratitude toward Seraph as he headed off. "Well it seems it will all work out," Sarra turned some to look over toward Rhys. Rhys hearing Merci` sighed and headed into the kitchen, turning a chair around he sat on it backward stretching his wings some as he did. "So, why do we need so many papers for this place anyways?" Leaning up some he attempted to get a peak at what his foster mother was working with. Glancing over Sarraqa noted Tek sitting near his tail at the ready, with a slight grin he moved his tail with a small rattle. Tek dashed after the tail movement, feelings of obvious glee radiating from the small stone. Sounds from the front of the house harkened the arrival of Cinder. The pilot's steps were heard in the hall. Rhys' wings tensed slightly, his 'mother' was intimidating no matter when you found her and he had a feeling she wasn't going to be pleased with him. Sarraqa frowned slightly noting Rhys change at the sound of the woman's approach. Merci` Merci noticed him tense up as well, but decided not to comment on it. Rhys relationship with Cinder was not really something she needed to get involved with. It wasn't that she wasn't concerned about them, it was just that she knew she wouldn't necessarily make things better. She dropped the assortment of papers on the tabletop and stood back up. She swished over to the counter that had the mostly finished cake and picked up the frosting bag to continue her decorating. Dio came through the wall to the kitchen and hissed slightly at the light in the kitchen. It didn't take him long to huddle behind Rhys, using the shadow he cast to adjust to the bright room. 'Damned Daystar!'Merci snorted a bit at Dio's exclamation and looked over her shoulder at the teenager. "Seriously your starting to get a potty mouth. You need to watch it, you don't want to be a poor example for little Tek now do you?" The shadow furrowed his brows and darted across the kitchen to cling to his bonded. 'How can you stand the light! It's horrible.' He was complaining until his eyes lit on Sarraqa. 'Ooo! Another snake person! Is he going to be staying with us too? He's not going to have to live in the other house is he? Why can't we clean out that room that no one uses and let Maili stay in there. The one you say is... Fiona's? I've never even seen this girl.'Merci reached a hand up and rubbed her forehead. He was going to give her wrinkles one day, she just knew it. "Fiona is my daughter and I'm not cleaning out her room until I have no other choice. She should have a place to stay if she ever wants to come home." Cinderfae Rhys turned slightly and glanced over to where Dio was hiding, "I thought you liked stars?" He grinned slightly over to the fiend as he spoke. Despite the teasing Rhys adjusted his wings some so the fiend would have more shadow if he wished it. The nearby trash can clattered as Tek hit the release that caused the can to open. At the sound of the metal against the wall the wisp darted across the floor taking up hiding under Rhys chair. Sarraqa laughed softly and leaned over shutting the lid, "quite the handful.""You don't know the half of it," Rhys glanced down toward the floor with an affectionate look for the wisp. He'd almost forgotten that his mother was on her way in, that was until Cinder actually did walk into the room. "Evenin' everyone," the pilot walked through the kitchen without really pausing to look over who was present, "Clotho said I should head in and talk to Rhys?" She'd walked over to the counter and filled a mug before turning to look over those present. Pausing a moment she took a drink out of her mug her gaze on Sarraqa, she knew the medusa that Merci had adopted but this one was new ... she idly wondered if they were reproducing or something. Rhys winced internally Clotho hadn't bothered to tell Cinder anything, which meant he would. He wasn't exactly afraid of her but the boy had gotten into the routine of not wanting to cross her or do things that he worried would rile her anger. "Uhm...yeah." Pulling himself up Rhys stepped over and gestured to Sarraqa, "this is Sarraqa...I uh...he'll be staying with me?" after all Rhys didn't really think of it as owning someone as Sarraqa was more his friend then anything else. With Sarraqa added into the bunch Cinder mused that the mammals of the household were getting out numbered. "These things are like cats...and we keep feeding them." Really Cinder probably would have preferred it if Rhys had brought home cats or something more...normal instead of living shadows and snakemen but you live with what your dealt. Sighing Cinder took another drink of her coffee, "alright...we'll see how it goes."Sarraqa's tail flickered, his tail rattling and his eyes shifting toward the pilot, "It's nice to meet you, and trust me when I tell you that I am no cat..."A small smile came to Cinder's face...the new addition hadn't grown a thick skin yet - she felt she should help him along with that. Merci` Merci cast a sidelong look at her other hand and spoke up, "There are some papers on the table you should probably look over. Not to mention your Identification stuff." She moved her green eyes back down to the cake and finished the last rosette. It was a bit fancy for being home made, but Merci had felt the urge to decorate it. She reached out with her hand and dropped the frosting bag into the sink, along with all the nozzles she'd used for the occasion. "It's going to get crowded in here in a minute. Seraph went to get Vance and Maili from the guest house so they could greet Sarraqa properly I guess. When he gets back though maybe Seraph will make us some tea and we can have cake." Merci lifted a glass dome over the confection and looked quite pleased with herself. Dio darted from behind Merci and clung to Rhys side, it was far to bright in here and no one was doing a damned thing about it. So he moved himself into the shadow that his friend was making with his wing gratefully. 'Stars, I like Stars. Not the evil orb that makes the day painful. That one needs to go away.' He never did understand the want to gather around food and beverage, after all he didn't consume them.
He also didn't have a lot of time to ponder any of this though. The door was pushed open and snakes started filling the room. Seraph pushed though first, followed by Vance and then finally Maili. Dio broke away from Rhys and in a heartbeat he was attached to the green Medusa. 'MAILI!!!She oofed slightly as she was hit by Dio. He was bigger but he was still tiny enough that she could hold him. "Hello Dio." There was obvious affection in her tone. The Asian Medusa gestured to Sarraqa, "This is Sarraqa." He glanced over at the newcomer and gestured to the other two snake people, "This is Vance, and Maili." He indicated each as he said their names. "We'd like to welcome you to our home." Cinderfae Cinder glanced to Merci` before murmuring softly to Sarraqa, "I have to agree cats tend to be better for petting." Cinder walked across the kitchen and paused to pet one of Merci's ears before taking a seat. Sarraqa rattled his tail slightly eying the woman before speaking softly to Rhys, "is she always this..."Rhys sighed wrapping his wings around his shoulders and glanced over speaking softly as well, "Not really I think she's just...in a mood or something."Cinder sat looking over the papers without looking up she spoke, "Rhys you should remember I have very good hearing...and cake sounds lovely." the boy winced remember his mother's cybernetics. Before Sarraqa had time to really react to the rest he let his attention be taken over by meeting the new Medusa, smiling slightly he noted Maili and Dio. Then looking to the others he gave each a slight nod of the head in greeting, "It's wonderful to meet you, hopefully I will have plenty of time to get to know you all."With more Medusa in the house Tek moved across the floor bobbing in and out of the shadows near their tails as if attempting to catch and then fight with them. Merci` Merci's eyes rolled back in her head and she would have purred if she'd had the right parts. Instead she leaned into Cinder's hand for the duration of the attention. She wasn't in the least bit ashamed of the fact that she was a glutton for attention, especially Cinder's. At the mention of cake Seraph pretty much took over. He ushered people into seats and busied himself with making herbal teas for everyone. Kinds that would of course enhance the flavors of the cake that sat pristine and perfect under the dome of glass. Vance was not in the least bit amused by any of this and he slithered his way over next to Sarraqa. "Nice to meet you. Your staying with the boy then? Probably for the best, the guest house we stay in isn't that big and you'd find yourself being bossed around by one of the two of them." He gave hard looks at Seraph and Maili. Maili acted as though she didn't hear, or see Vance. Instead she hugged Dio happily. Any time she had with the fiend was treasured. She did however address Sarraqa, "You should feel welcome to come over and see us any time you feel the need of kin. Sometimes the mammals are a bit hard to put up with." Her tone was teasing but it got the desired reaction from Dio. The pout was fairly epic. Seraph was a machine, literally, and he had tea and cake to everyone in what might have been record time. Not that anyone was paying attention. Things quickly degenerated into amicable family time, and none of them made Sarraqa feel like an outsider.

Hiring More Help Medusa Shop rp - joint over Skype Cinder/Kip/Clotho/Thomas/Rhys/Tek Cinder's thick boots clicked on the cobbles as she walked, she had gotten directions to the small shop from Rhys. Plans for the bar were underway and she had realized even with herself, Merci, and Clotho they would need more employees for the bar. She could have just put out want ads and gone through more 'normal' lines for finding someone to help out ... but for the old pirate trust was always a major issue. Even if she didn't get along with Sarraqa very well after observing him and the Medusa's under Merci's care she realized they might be the best option. With a sigh Cinder paused outside the plain looking door to the shop muttering softly, "like collecting stray cats or something." Not wanting to draw attention she finally pushed the door open and stepped inside.
Shifting her gaze over the posh waiting area her hand instinctively went to her hip, with a slight frown she remembered that she'd left her Ogre VI military grade laser pistol at home. Standing in a new enviroment she felt naked without the weapon, the small concealed dagger and stunner didn't offer her nearly as much reassurance.
Thomas wandered into the waiting area and took the cup of tea he was sipping off his lips as he saw the had guests. Something about her told him not to ******** around so he kept a distance. "Hello?"
Cinder's gaze flickered over toward the snakeman, he'd arrived to interrupt her thoughts over whether or not the shop owner would get pissed if she smoked or not. "Allo there," stepping forward slightly Cinder paused unsure for a moment of how to proceed, "looking for someone I can trust...my son, Rhys pointed me toward here." She knew that they had met Rhys and hoped mentioning that she knew someone that had done business here before would help get past any greeting fumbling.
Thomas let a smile slip when she mentioned Rhys. "Ah, welcome!" He motioned for her to come farther inside. "so someone you can trust?" He tried not to make much of a face but an eyebrow went up. "Thats... possible I guess? Tea? Coffee?"
Cinder shrugged slightly at the offer of a drink before answering, "No thanks. More specifically I'm opening a business...and I could use some help." It seemed Rhys had been talking to someone Cinder mused noting the Medusa's response...that was good she decided and wondered if they'd actually end up comfortable enough to really talk.
"Business? Can't say that is a usual request" Thomas took her to a comfortable room full of dark rich colors and fabrics and took a seat. So you are looking to purchase several employees?
Moving along with the snakeman Cinder took a seat and stretched her long legs out, "I think one more pair of hands would work out...I'm opening a bar with a couple other people. Don't want to have someone I'm not sure about with too much access." Considering a moment Cinder spoke again, "might have use for someone that only wants to work a few shifts here and there too - but that of course would depend."
"A bar." He sounded a bit impressed as he didn't expect that. "So you would probably be wanting someone a bit... older ." *he rubbed his chin pretending to think about possible medusa but was more picturing how fun serving drinks instead of tea and booty would be* "Not to be to forward but are we talking a legit bar or cover bar?" *he wiggled a hand to somehow represent being shady*
Cinder snorted slightly and rested back in her seat a slight grin on her face, "I'm told it's suppose to be legitmate." Relaxing slightly Cinder took the titanium cigar case from her jacket pocket and flipped it over in her hand, she'd found long ago the habit made people a lot less nervous then if she flipped a blade. "So nothing shady," she wasn't sure of Thomas fully so refrained from adding that she was suppose to be retiring from the shady.
"Oh, you are welcome to smoke if you like." *he pulled out an ashtray from a small drawer and offered it without taking at least one eye off the lady* "Eh close enough to legit is good... easier to find someone." He took a sip of his tea while looking shifty, " You know... might it be possible if I could see the bar? ... it might make it easier to to find someone that is a good fit."
Cinder flipped open the container without more of a prompt taking a dark sweet smelling cheroot cigar from it. Even better for her then having something to keep her hands busy was having one of her cigars, from a small pocket on her sleeve a lighter appeared. Lighting the cigar she relaxed almost instantly, "very possible...work is still being done on the place though. So if you don't mind that," Cinder shrugged slightly, she really didn't have much to do while she waited on the bar to be finished - especially since no one seemed comfortable with her doing a quick job to help tide them over.
Thomas smiled as he plotted in his head. "Not a problem at all." *his tail wiggle betrayed him* "Um... human clients mostly?"
"Seems to be mostly humans around here, so yes. When it comes to working depending on what we can work out I'll need someone pretty much full time and possibly another," Cinder paused taking a moment to consider before continuing, "they'll be working mostly with me, Merci .... or Clotho. Merci is human with a bit of fox demon and Clotho is ... well less human. So dunno, pretty sure that sort of thing wouldn't be an issue but if it is - you know about it now."
"Not a problem. I'd love to check it out."
"Right," pausing a moment Cinder pulls herself up to stand, "I have a car if you need a ride." Personally she wondered if Thomas could drive and if he could how he did it, when it came to local vehicles she didn't always get along with them, even if they weren't a space ship she'd get them there in one piece.
Waiting for Thomas to come along Cinder lead the way, her car was actually a rather formitable looking jeep and was mostly empty giving Thomas plenty of room. After a quick drive Cinder parked them in front of a building not far from the center of town. The place looked mostly deserted but lights from somewhere in the back of the place betrayed the presence of others. "I think Rhys might be here helping out," Cinder glanced over before getting out of the vehicle and heading toward the door.
Thomas tried not to act nervous but couldn't resist watching everything they passed. "Wow..." He got out. "It would be good to see Rhys again... I hope he and Sarra are doing well." *he dusted himself off from invisible crumbs before following Cinder farther*
Opening the door of the bar Cinder strolled inside the place had sat for a fair deal of time before they bought it and in some places the dust still showed. But behind the bar had been cleaned as had the bar and then the bar polished so it shone brilliantly. "It's going to be a straight forward bar, none of that themed s**t..." motioning Thomas to follow Cinder found her way to the back room.
As the two entered three sets of eyes turned toward them Clotho paused carrying a box, Rhys and Sarra glanced over as well. The latter two smiled warmly and offered quick waves to Thomas pausing in their cleaning to move toward Cinder and the Medusa.
"I see your back...new help?" Clotho glanced toward Thomas her tail flickering slightly as she assessed him, offering a quick nod in greeting and shifting her weight to hold the box more easily.
"He wanted to see the place before helping place someone," Cinder shrugged slightly.
Rhys grinned slightly and spoke softly to Thomas, "nice to see you again, did you really need to see the place before placing someone?" The boy seemed to have some idea of how the Medusa's mind was working.
Thomas cracked a smirk at the themed comment. ... Thomas smiled at Rhys and Sarra glad to see they wern't causing any horrific trouble to themselves. He gave Clotho a look over in return suprised to see such a lovely looking 'person' "Hi.." "Oh hey Rhys!" He turned his attention to him, "Um... yes?" *he looked shifty eyed and smiled at him* "Well I want you guys to have someone who would fit in right? ... plus... bar >.>"
Clotho nodded slightly glancing over at the Medusa, she was surprised at the differences she'd seen in them so far. Her own people came in only a few colors and humans to her in comparison looked boring - Medusa however she had noted all had very unique coloring and markings, "Ah, well I'm Clotho - nice to meet you. Feel free to have a look around. If you stay too long though don't be surprised if I put you to work." With a quick smile Clotho then went about carrying the box off to the back.
"We'll I'm glad you came," Rhys smiled easily, he didn't know many people and Thomas was one of the few that he not only knew but considered a friend, "Sarraqa is going to help with the decorating and well...there is plenty to be finished up before the place opens." Rhys paused a moment considering, "I'm sure if you like it you'll be welcome whenever," Rhys glanced over at Cinder as he spoke.
"Fine by me, not overly picky at who decides to come in." Moving over toward Sarraqa without bothering to speak to the Medusa Cinder picked up a what appeared to be part of an old heavy wood table without so much as batting an eye and started toward the other room, "Rhys show Thomas around a bit then..." glancing to Thomas she added, "when your ready to head back to the shop just let me know." The pilot then headed off toward to scrap the wood.
Sarraqa sniffed slightly watching Cinder go before moving over toward Thomas and Rhys, smiling he inclined his head to the other Medusa, "it's nice to see you again. I hope things have been well."
"She works out huh?" Thomas motioned his head towards Cinder. "I've been well... How have you been?" He smiled at the two. "Been getting into trouble but not to much? Looks like you both have been very busy here!"
Rhys glanced over toward where Cinder headed a brief smile touching his lips, "she cheats...cybernetics." Not considering that the technology wouldn't be familiar to everyone Rhys doesn't bother to elaborate. "I've been well and busy...and...well Tek -" Rhys pauses, "you should see for yourself," turning slightly Rhys calls over toward where a table has been upturned in a corner, "Tek...remember Thomas?"
There is the sound of something falling and Tektite peers out from around the side of the fallen table. The fiend has grown in size and now sports tentacles, despite it's strange appearance Tek grins and hurries over toward Thomas, a shadowy trail of slime left in it's wake slowly dissipates after only a few moments. Tek greets Thomas his voice heard in the mind. Hello! I think you have shrunk since we saw you last. Tek circles around the medusa playfully before pausing to crouch by his tail as if considering how much he has actually shrank.
Sarraqa smiles, "I've been well...adjusting to everyone that lives in the house but I think it's working out. Cinder finally got to the point where she listens to me about certain things so at least the interior is looking better." Pausing Sarra glanced over the bar, despite having his friend nearby his mind was still considering what would need to be added
"Wow! look at you!" he couldn't resist wiggling his fingers at Tek like he was an adorable pet. "I'm not too sure how much I shrank... think you might have gotten bigger?" *he straightened his tail out a bit so they could better measure against each other.
"I'm glad things are working out between you two." *he caught Sarra's glance, "Glad you are getting her trained" he smirked, "It is looking nice in here... Cinder was looking for a bar tender or something I believe, you must be close to opening up..."
Watching Thomas' tail Tek took the opportunity to straighten his own shadowy tail out and put it next to Thomas' as if to measure the difference. Wiggling back a little Tek bit his lip thoughtfully watching their tails, "mines bigger - you definitely got at least a little smaller." Nodding slightly the fiend laughed softly before darting off back to his hidey hole at the other side of the room.
Rhys glanced back to the overturned table frowning slightly, "hrm...I do worry what he's doing back there. He dragged off a few broken machines and has been hiding." Shaking his head Rhys looked back to Thomas, "is there anything you want to see?"
Sarraqa grinned faintly, "I'm not sure she can ever be trained but at least we have an understanding. And yes soon...I believe within the month they are planning to be open."
"Only open if we can finish this up, just a few more boxes and then the real cleaning begins," Clotho stepped back into the room, pausing a moment the Draconian flexed her wings before rolling her shoulders. "Grab a box all of you," glancing over toward Thomas and then Rhys and Sarraqa. "You can help finish it up and I'll give you an idea of the size of the place. Really anyone that gets along with others reasonably well and knows how to make drinks would be nice. Mind for numbers wouldn't be bad either." Clotho grabbed one of the nearby boxes pausing her tail flickering slightly as she waited expectantly for the others.
Thomas looked towards Tek's mystery area. "hmmm maybe he is building a really big toaster?" He gave Sarra a symathetic smile "Humans am i right?"
Thomas picked up a box careful to not look as dumb as possible when doing it. Heavy lifting wasn't his forte but he wasn't all show with his mucles. "I'd love to see what this place is like." He grabbed a smaller box with the end of his tail too "Mixing drinks eh? That could be fun.... I like that."
Thomas whispered to Sarra " She is... pretty cute huh?"
"It's a pretty nice place, I chose it because it came with a lot of the original wooden fixtures. Bar still shines up real nice and doesn't seem to have any rot - which would have put us more then a little behind." Clotho spoke pausing slightly and shifting the box so she was holding it with one arm before gesturing up toward the vaulted ceilings, "nice accoustics in here, there 's a small stage but the accoustics seem to be set up just right so everyone can hear the band and still carry on their own conversations."
Sarraqa cuts off a chuckle in his throat glancing to Thomas, "that she is." The Medusa seemed to be coming up with more to add but cut off as the draconian started to move again.
Clotho glanced over to Thomas, "you have experiance with mixing drinks then?" Gesturing to the group she headed toward a back door, opening it she moved outside setting her box with others full of various odds and ends of junk. "Just leave them here, we have a truck coming to take them." Moving back inside she dusts her hands off waiting for the three.
Rhys dutifully followed and deposited his box, "other then Tek's mess I think that's the last of the big stuff."
Thomas looked around the room and genuinely admired it. "It is really nice. Has a nice natural smell too." His tongue flicked slightly, "Whoever gets to work here should have a nice time."
Thomas was hanging on Sarra's words but quickly turned back to Clotho. "I like to have a few useful skills under my belt... for entertaining." He smiled but looked away quickly before continuing, "what I don't know I can learn quickly." He set the boxes down and gave an unsexy back crack as he stood up. "Little Tek sure grew didn't he? It seems like just the other day he was this small" *he showed the size with his fingers.
Clotho glanced over at Thomas giving him a thoughtful look, "I take it you already have a job though?" While waiting for an answer she headed over to the bar, "the best thing was the area behind the bar is pretty big...so I don't have to worry about knocking things over with my wings." Pulling a bar from behind the bar she gestures to the group, "thirsty?" Glancing to Rhys she adds, "no alcohol for you though."
Rhys grins slightly, "he did, and it happened all at once. It was pretty interesting and he seems to be having plenty of fun."
Sarraqa shakes his head slightly, "and gets into everything ... and sometimes destroys it." The Medusa sighs and glances to the upturned table, "I'll be back." With that Sarraqa heads over to where Tek is hiding.
Thomas started talking before thinking his answer all the way through "Yeah I do but it... um... has flexible hours mostly." He was very much not making eye contact as he tried to think quickly "I um... host guests and do a couple of other things... make sure everything is in order." *he shrugged to stop rambling* "Wing space seems very important. You have nice ones." He wanted to brick himself in the forehead. "I could go for a drink,... want me to mix you one? If its awful I can at least help you guys finish getting ready or something..."
"I hope he doesn't get too much bigger... the world might shrink too much" he couldn't help but laugh a little as he watched Sarraqa go off. "Heh... yeah you guys were a good match."
Clotho quirked a brow studying the snakeman as he spoke, she couldn't tell if he was nervous or trying to hide something - or both. She wanted to ask what sort of job but from what Rhys had told her it didn't seem like anything to be too nervous about. At the wing compliment Clotho smiled she did pride herself on certain things and they were one of them, moving some she made room behind the bar and motioned Thomas over after he offered to mix, "sure, I'd like to see what you know - I'm not too familiar with the local drinks."
Rhys glanced over watching Sarraqa curiously and then glanced to Thomas, "I think we were. And well I'm glad he doesn't feel too crowded - when everyone is running around the house can get to feeling crowded."
Sarraqa headed back smiling slightly, moving up to the bar he curled around a stool, "I think you should be surprised if nothing else - and at least it isn't a fire hazard." Smiling Sarraqa watched Thomas and Clotho behind the bar, the Medusa fought a moment to keep his smile from becoming too much of a grin speaking quickly he attempted to cover it up, "I'd love a drink as well - I don't care what just nothing sour at the moment."
"So not a toaster then" Thomas grinned and tried to act a little more himself catching Sarra's amusement. He poked around a few bottles and grabbed glasses, careful to not pick anything too pricey or strong. He made a little pink drink but not too sweet and gave it to Sarra. "Its not an insult or anything... I kinda like these myself."One for you too or something else?" his tail tip wiggled back and forth like a contented cat.
Sarra smirked slightly and swirled the pink drink before taking a sip, "hmmm not bad." Chuckling slightly he settled glancing over to the others, "yes luckily not a toaster he'd find a way to burn the place down if it were one."
Clotho watched the whole process curiously, "hm...I'll leave that up to you - not sure about the whole pink drink thing though." Smirking slightly she looked over to Sarra, the Medusa in turn stuck his tongue out slightly, "it's good."
Laughing softly Clotho looked back to Thomas, "a pink thing then...and I'll get Rhys' drink." Reaching under the bar she starts making a rather complicated mixture of lemonade.
"I know right? Glad you like it too." Thomas made two more pink drinks and passed one to Clotho. "If you like it i'll find a way to make it purple or something okay? " "do we get to see what Tek is harboring back there or is it a surprise?"
Clotho grinned slightly and took the drink taking an experimental sip of it as she passed Rhys his drink, "hm...not bad - I think I'll let the color pass for now." Winking slightly her gaze shifted over toward Tek's table after a moment.
Hearing the speculation Tek called out toward the others at the bar, "it's almost done! You can see it soon - "
Rhys used the bar to boost himself up some now peering more intently toward the table, after a few long moments Tek emerged dragging along a jumble of metal parts now molded together behind him. "We made it!" Bringing the bit of metal and gears around in front of him Tek held it up triumphantly.
Rhys grinned slightly looking over it, "you certainly did...hm...what are you going to call it?" Glancing toward the others Rhys murmured softly, "Tek has an interest in art..."
Tek buffed up a little at Rhys interest grinning widely, "I call it ... modern art!"
Sarraqa laughed softly, "very nice...I think it's very fitting."
Thomas looked over the very shiney, very pointy, and very lovingly made piece. "That sure looks like it took a long time! Very nice. Cheers to your 'modern art' *sip*"
Nodding in agreement Clotho moved over around to the side of the bar, taking the second stool in and leaving the one on the end for Thomas, "very nice - be sure to have Cinder display it somewhere in the open." A touch of a grin played on her lips as she spoke and her tail flickered with a touch of mischief.
Tek beamed again before moving over and setting his 'art' down next to Rhys, "so...what is everyone doing? We were working and now no one else is," not waiting for an answer Tek moves up beside Rhys and rests uncomfortably close to watch the boy drink. Grumbling slightly Rhys puts his drink down after a moment, "well I was trying to take a break..." glowering slightly he looks to the fiend.
Thomas went to sit down but first offered Tek a drink of his own. "Um does the artist want a drink too?"
One of Tek's tentacles lashed out and wrapped around Rhys' glass, "we have a drink now!" Giggling softly Tek drops back down moving back with it's prize. Grumbling Rhys doesn't even bother getting up and just shakes his head resting against he bar, "I was done anyways."
Taking another drink Clotho stretches slightly before speaking, "well not too much longer and I'm going to have to make everyone get up and start the deep cleaning." Glancing over toward Thomas she she looks questioningly, "think we'll be able to find someone that'll be up for a bit of work? I have a feeling you'd have a fair hand at it as well ... depending on your schedule of course." Clotho had been picking up on Thomas' interest and from what she'd seen the Medusa seemed capable.
Thomas got Rhys a glass of water anyway and sat down. "Tek is the sharing type huh?" he smiled at the boy. "I'm up for work." he jokingly flexed, "i'll make time. Don't think I have a bree- um... anything to do for a while." He quickly finished his drink like it was a magic distraction. "Its nice to get out for a bit... " he looked around the room and gave a soft contented sigh.
Rhys laughed slightly and nodded taking the drink, "I'm not sure sharing is how I'd put it." Nodding toward Thomas he took a sip of the drink, "thank you."
"Well I don't think Cinder will have a problem with it...plus your drinks are pretty good."
As if on cue Cinder chose that time to head back in, "won't have a problem with what?"
Clotho glanced over hearing the other woman's voice, "Thomas working here a bit."
Pausing Cinder looked over to the Medusa, "I'll need someone pretty full time...if you don't think you can meet all the hours. We'll look at someone else as well but...I don't have a problem with you helping out the hours you can make."
Thomas nodded at Cinder. "I'll make time and see about finding someone that would fit in if I can't. I have pretty tough standards too so... yeah." he shrugged, "Thank you." He didn't say the last part quite as strong but did mean it.

Checking on hours rp - Clotho & Thomas
Things had gone well with Thomas the night before, he seemed to be fond of the bar and had some experience. So the following night it was decided that a schedule of sorts should be made - since she had set up most of the other time oriented things in regards to the new bar it was Clotho that headed toward the shop.
The draconian looked toward the door with a slight smirk shaking her head slightly before entering, if they kept showing up everyone was going to think they were regulars. Stepping inside she shifted her gaze ahead looking for the greeter that she assumed would be in the foyer.
Viktor heard the door open and soft footsteps. He brushed his hair out of his eyes and peaked around the corner. Seeing the dragon lady he realized Thomas still wasn't up so he took over. "Welcome! How can I help you?" Viktor wiggered overs enthusiastically.
Noting Viktor, Clotho inclined her head to the Medusa, "Hello there, I'm actually here looking for someone..." her tail flickered slightly before curling around her leg, the snakemen weren't likely to accidentally step on it but she was particular about it being touched.
"Thomas specficially..." Clotho paused unsure if she'd be allowed to go and find him or wait while someone else did.
Viktor gave a big smile and reached for an appointment book. "Oh... Thomas eh?" His smile only got bigger, "Are you here for a breeding of consultation?" he was messing around with the book clearly not finding any information he was looking for.
Clotho paused a moment at the question, shifting her gaze over the area she wondered exactly what sort of place this was exactly there was more to it then she was actually taking into consideration. Clearing her throat she realizes that she had been standing for long enough that the snakeman might start wondering, "consultation...for now." She couldn't help letting a slight grin escape, she could just imagine Thomas' reaction.
"Okay, please follow me." Viktor started to lead her farther into the shop which strangely appeared much larger then it could possibly have been from the outside. "Normally I'd have you wait in one of our waiting rooms... but I haven't seen Thomas all day. I hope you don't mind if we give him a little surprise." The medusa smirked and was clearly enjoying this idea. They walked down several long hallways. Viktor spoke softer and much less formal, "Thomas is a nice guy. He makes beautiful offspring too. Oh! here we go!" Viktor gave a knock at the door and talked through it. "Thomas... you have a visitor."
The door cracked open after a few minutes and the grumpy and unbrushed medusa peaked out clearly having just woken up. "...What?"
Clotho quirked a brow as she listened, perhaps the Medusa were more different from her own race then she realized, "I'm sure he does...nice coloring." A touch of amusement was heard in her voice but she followed along easily enough.
As Thomas peeked out Clotho raised her hand in greeting, "hello there...seems you were out too late last night." A slight smile came to her face, after all he'd been at the bar the night before.
Thomas froze and caught himself from slamming the door and swearing at Viktor through it. "Um- uh- hi" *he quickly ran his hand through his hair trying to be more presentable. "... come in?" he opened the door and shot Viktor a very hatefilled gaze. "I just had a good time and ... yeah." He gave a defeated smile. "Guess I was a bit more sleepy for it." He quickly made his bed as he contuned talking, "It is nice to see you"
Viktor wiggled like a puppy before joining in. "OOOOH! is this who you were meeting?!" Thomas glared at him more and talked while pushing the snake out the door. "Viktor, Clotho... Clotho, Viktor." and with a final push he locked the door.
"How have you been?"
Clotho grinned slightly her tail flickering in amusement as she watched the two, she didn't bother answering responding much until Viktor had been pushed from the room. "Hello, I've been well...it seems mornings here are exciting." As she answered Clotho glanced over the area before taking a seat in a nearby chair.
"Actually came by because we are going to be ready to open soon and I wanted to see what sort of schedule would work for you and the shop," raising her wings slightly Clotho curled them around her shoulders so she could comfortably lean back, "it seems you have more responsibilities then I first thought though."
Thomas rubbed the crusties out of his eyes. "Yeah you could say I do a lot here... kinda makes it nice to get out." he reached into a drawer and pulled out a little book. "I talked with my master last night and I cleared up a bit of my schedule. ... can I get you anything?" He went over to the door and held up his fingers to be quiet then grinned and hit the door really hard.
Viktor let out a noise and a muffled sorry and left.
Clotho smiled slightly and chuckled hearing Viktor, "tea if you have it - no sweetener." Clotho paused a moment as if considering, "your master?" Her tail flickered slightly as she spoke her attention moving toward more Thomas waiting for his response.
Thomas made her some tea as they talked. "Yes, we all have masters." he poured a cup for both of them and brought it over. "It.. isn't a bad thing. It is just how it is. Kip isn't a ... " he paused thinking of an appropriate word, "bad master or anything. Hell we have it pretty good." He let out a sigh and sipped his tea. "I hope Viktor didn't drive you too crazy."
Clotho wrapped her hands around the mug quirking her brow slightly, "I have a feeling I'm missing a custom thing..." the draconian frowned slightly, "I don't think I could be comfortable with owning another person." Her tail flickered again.
At the meantion of Viktor she laughed slightly, "oh he didn't...though he did have some interesting things to say about you."
Thomas shrugged. "It isn't as awful as it sounds...." he paused, " he... he talked about me?" nervous rage hinted in his voice.
Clotho watched Thomas a moment smiling slightly, "nothing bad...I did hear that you make beautiful children though." Letting the teasing go Clotho reached out to lightly touch Thomas' hand after speaking ... she didn't want the snakeman to get too upset, "and before you freak out...I'm not freaked out."
Thomas choaked on his tea but was touched before he could freak the hell out. "I... I guess I do..." his shoulders fell. "That's a big part of what I... we... all do here." He normally didn't mind his job normally but felt out of place this time. "thank you.." he touched her hand with the thumb from the hand she touched. He mumbled something about still going to kill the snake.
"I was mainly giving you a hard time..." giving his hand a gentle squeeze before letting go she wrapped her hand around her mug. "There are somethings I don't understand...I'm not sure I'll ever grasp them, perhaps at some point I'll explain them." Taking a drink from her tea she closed her eyes a moment before relaxing again, "try not to kill him too much - I believe it was all in good fun, for him at least."
"Now...I really did come to talk about a schedule of sorts," grinning slightly Clotho glanced over toward Thomas, "of course your not allowed to drink more then you sell - it's a rule or something."
"Fair rule. Guess I need to sell a lot then huh?" he let out a laugh. "And I won't kill him... too much, just the amount he deserves." *grin* He touched his own hand before going back to his tea too. "I have a pretty open schedule, so just let me know when you need me." he his his smile with his drink.
"I'm not sure how busy you usually get here but we'll need you for at least Friday or Saturday every week in the evenings. And then three or four weekday shifts if you think you can manage it." Sipping her drink she glanced over to Thomas, "bartenders keep their tips along with their wages."
Clotho glanced over after a moment, "do I need to meet with your master?" A touch of hesitation was hinted at in her voice.
"That sounds great." He made some marks in his book and seemed happy about it. "and pay... nice. Will you be there?"
"Oh, probably should." knowing that she wasn't super keen on that he continued, "If anything just to say hello right?"
"Yep pay, the real money comes from tips from what I understand though..." stretching her legs slightly she glanced over, "mhmm...especially on busy nights."
"Well to say hello at least..." glancing over at Thomas, Clotho paused for a long moment, "...I hope this isn't an uncomfortable question...but ... are Medusa a man made race?"
Thomas blinked wide eyed. It wasn't a question he had ever been asked. "I... I don't think so. Humans have shaped our species definitely, you could say we are very domesticated from how we started." he was thinking about it, "Humans probably would have given us legs if we were made from scrach"
Clotho paused considering the information, "domesticated...interesting way of putting it." She glanced down to her taloned feet and then over to Thomas with a slight grin, "and yes they probably would have given you legs."
"Do I have to set anything specific up to meet with...your master? ...what is your master's name anyways?"
Thomas eyed hr legs. "They wouldn't have given us nice legs like you have for sure... humans have a thing for little stubby flesh toes." "Oh, my master Lady Kipestshin owns this shop and all of us who work here. Everything else is under her watch though. She dosn't have any power over you... " he talked a little more serious for a second, "keep it that way."
Clotho chuckled slightly, "actually they did give draconian legs like these...or perhaps they tried for the stubby human toes and made a mistake." Clotho quirked an eye ridge listening to Thomas, "don't worry I won't give anyone the chance to have power over me..." considering that Thomas may be getting a little loss she added more, "draconian stopped allowing that years ago." Her voice was very serious as she spoke.
"Humans made your kind?" Thomas looked shocked and kept rambling, "but humans never make anything good looking-" *COUGH* "sounds like humans are no longer so important to your people?"
Clotho chuckles slightly, "genetic engineers made my kind...the humans that had the technology to make us were in danger and created draconian to undertake dangerous space journeys so that the surviving humans wouldn't be put in danger to do it themselves. ...they all likely died however - my people didn't have anything to do with the deaths though."
"The first draconians set out to find a safe place for those that created them...but something went wrong. The ship didn't go where it was suppose to and when they awoke from their sleep they found they had gone much further and it had been much longer then it was suppose to be." Clotho paused a moment thinking over what she knew of draconian history and considered how best to shorten it so Thomas wasn't stuck sitting and listening for too long.
"They found themselves in a new galaxy...one that was at war. Their ship was damaged and after building a smaller ship with lightspeed capabilities some of them branched out..." Clotho chuckles slightly, "long story short...they raised funds and were able to repair their ship and build others. Having the advantage of superior technology and cybernetics they brought peace to the galaxy they had found...by forcing the warring factions down from their hostilities." Grinning slightly she glances over, "after that things get complicated again and there was another war..." shrugging slightly Clotho pauses glancing to the door hearing the knock and then to Thomas, "more company..."
Thomas was trying to follow the very fantastical story. "wow... that sounds like a very intense past-" he turned toward the knocking "what the hell now... excuse me" He got up and cracked open the door. "oh... come in." Thomas' body posture changed and becam emore submissive. Kip walked in.
"I hear we have a special guest."
Clotho shifted her gaze over toward the door hearing the new voice, her eyes flickered over toward Thomas' change in body language. She wondered why she was a special guest but switched her attention finally to the woman at the door.
Standing Clotho unwrapped her wings giving them a moment to stretch before inclining her head, "Greetings...I believe we were just about to come and find you."
Kip walked in and offered a hand. "Hello. You must be part of the crew which captured Thomas heres attention." She gave a cordial smile. "Welcome to my shop."
"That does seem to be the case," Clotho took the woman's hand meeting her gaze and returning the smile. "Thomas is good company, I know he has had similar impressions upon the others." At meantion of the shop Clotho glanced over the area and then back, "it's a nice business...surprising at times."
"Hehe... that is very true." a wicked grin apeared. "Its good to see him getting out." she shot a look over at Thomas breifly. "It is nice to meet you. I hope you are being treated well."
Clotho's tail flickered slightly before glancing over toward Thomas again and then back, "I've been treated very well...your familiar with the business venture that brought us here?"
Kip sat down and joined the two. "Yes, Thomas mentioned the bar work to me last night. Sounds like a good place." she crossed her legs. "He is a hard worker." *smile* "if he gives you too much trouble let me know."
Clotho found her own seat again and rested back, glancing over she took a moment to note Thomas' reaction to the situation before looking back to Kip, "well we are hoping it'll be a nice place. I doubt there will be any problems." Clotho paused a moment she really didn't know what all to add into the conversation, "I'm glad there isn't a problem with it - from what I understand...you usually don't handle this sort of thing."
Kip stood up again. "It is very nice to meet you, and please feel free to stay the night as a guest if you are so inclined." She excused herself and left the room.
Thomas gave a sigh of relief that nothing had gone terribly wrong.
"...did I make you too nervous there?" Clotho turned slightly looking over to the snakeman curiously. "I might not fully understand...but you seem happy as you are." ((>> so she isn't randomly going to be a complete b***h
Thomas looked at her. "Oh no no... not at all." he took his tea cup just to hold it. "Sometimes she likes to play with guests or... well... collect favors at cost. I wouldn't want you to get... hurt." hits tail rattled a little, "Sometimes interesting people catch her fancy..."
Clotho frowned slightly listening, "...getting hurt is a common thing then?" Her tail flickered slightly as she listened. She ignored the interesting people remark...she was an oddity but was less worried about being able to handle things.
"Oh, not so common, but I try to keep out of her deals." he realized he may have been speaking a bit to freely. "She is clever, but likes to win if you know what i mean. I've never seen her hurt anyone outright though.... if that helps. She is much better at getting you what you want in exchange for... things." He set his teacup down. "Don't be worried about staying here, if that is a concern" he tried to play off how things were going, "Think you might like to stay?"
"Hm, probably better that I came instead of Cinder then...I have a feeling they might be more of a match for each other then they might realize." Sighing slightly Clotho slowly relaxed, "I'm sorry if I seem to be jumping at things - but I grew up...in a dangerous place and tend to be wary." After a moment she quirked her brow and looked over to Thomas after a moment her tail flicked with a touch of playfulness, "I think I could be persuaded to stay...that is if someone happened to have a suggestion as to where I'd be welcomed."
Thomas smiled,"I don't blame you, better safe then sorry." he stretched, "Oh, we have lots of nice rooms, um... i guess it depends what you like." he flicked his tail as he thought and tried not to say anything wrong, "do you like large beds... for your wings?"
Pausing Clotho laughed gently after a moment and shook her head slightly, more at herself then anything else. "Big beds are usually best...I do like having a body pillow as well." Pausing she glanced over the room and then to Thomas, "I've been keeping you for quite a while though...do you need to do anything else or...is that alright?"
"Oh! nothing... haha, Its nice to get to talk." He stood up, "I think I might know the perfect room for you, it isn't too far down the hall incase you need anything. Do you like red, blue, or green better?"
Shrugging Clotho pulled herself up, "I don't mind really...is there any you would suggest over the others?" Upon standing she once again allowed her wings to stretch, "there is another thing I've been meaning to ask about as well...the deal that Rhys made for Sarraqa - do you know anything about it?"
"The red room..." he didn't say because he thought how pretty she would look in it. "It was a pretty straight forward deal. Take good care of him, that kind of stuff. As long as she dosn't have to come get him due to.... bad things... then Rhys should be fine. She didn't get a chance to haggle with him since I sorta... messed things up." he looked down but not too terribly upset over it. "Rhys seemed like he could have used a friend."
"Red sounds good..." Clotho grinned slightly and glanced over at Thomas, "hope you didn't get into trouble over that...you were right though Rhys does need friends. He hasn't had a whole lot of them." Clotho's wings twitched slightly as she spoke portraying emotion she didn't allow to show on her face.
Thomas took her to a very fancy and very nice room themed in red. He showed her around it, the nice bathroom and other areas. "if you like we can have your clothes cleaned, there are robes if you like, and I can bring you anything else you need." he bowed his head breifly out of habit, "And I can even make you breakfast." he smiled.
"That'd be nice..." looking over the room Clotho nods slightly before turning to look at the snakeman again, "robes with openings for my wings? If not...being naked some doesn't worry me that much."
Thomas was good and didn't lie. "Yes, actually we do have wingged guests from time to time. Medusa usually." he went into the closet and picked one out and showed her. "If it dosn't fit how you like we can find you something else." he was more focused on the robe then looking at her because his mind was very dangerously close to wandering. "I hope you like it here."
Clotho considered a moment longer and moved over taking the robe, "I"ll change...and then I'd like to eat...and then perhaps some rest." Lifting her head slightly the draconian made eye contact with Thomas, she suspected his 'work' tendancies were coming on more strongly after his master's visit. "I do like having a body pillow of sorts when I rest it makes sleeping with my wings easier." Her wings fanned slightly and stretched. "Think you'd be up for that job?"
Thomas was silent and then slowly blushed up his whole body. "S-Sure. I'd be honored." his tail wiggled. "W-Would you like food brought, or care to go to the kitchen?" he was still far to distracted at the thought of snuggle company to be thinking clearly.
Clotho relaxed slightly, she hadn't even realized she tensed up as she asked the last bit. "Changing and then...will there be more around if we head to the kitchens?" Glancing over the room Clotho took a moment to find a spot where she wouldn't be in direct line of sight while she went to get changed. Years in space and draconian cultural habits didn't make her the most bashful sort...but she wanted Thomas to be able to get through dinner.
"Um, it is pretty late, the kitchen should be empty. If it is i'll kick them out... haha" he grinned with a laugh and turned to see her reaction and realized what was going on... which only made him more red.
Clotho was scaled fully over her body, her form was strongly built and mostly andrognous with only small hints of more humanoid feminine curves. She didn't seem bothered to be changing in front of someone else and just smiled slightly. "I can walk with you to the kitchens then...not feeling all that tired to be truthful."
Thomas couldn't pretend he wasn't looking, he really didn't want to look away. "Um, okay! dinner!" He headed to the door. "Anything you are in the mood for?"
"Anything none starchy," Clotho headed toward the door as well her clothing in hand, "anywhere specific I should leave these?" She paused resting against the frame, the whole ordeal was different...but she realized she was alright with it - plus...she was glad to find other humanoid creatures that were more scaley then fleshy.
"Just leave them by the door, i'll have someone pick them up while we are out. You can trust them." He took her to the kitchen where they could keep talking while he fixed up some plates. It was a mix of meats and veggies, as well as a couple of little cakey things.
"So I went on a bit about my history...or at least the history of my people. What about you?" Clotho found a stool and hooked her feet along the bottom before resting her arms against the counter. When the food was done she took her plate with a grateful nod.
Thomas poked at his plate. "About me personally or my kind?" He poured some water. Saribythi
Clotho watched his reaction a moment before taking a bite from her plate and responding. "I'd like to hear about you..." pausing for just a moment she added, "if you don't mind sharing..."
Thomas took a bite of food before he started. "well... um... I wasn't born here. Some humans traffic in medusa parts... including eggs. That was my luck to be born into that." *he took another bite of food he had been poking around his plate. "I was owned buy some peice of crap humans for a while before comming here. I haven't left since. ... thrilling I know right?"
Clotho frowned faintly listening, that's why Thomas and Rhys had gotten on so readily...their pasts were disturbingly simliar. She was guessing he wasn't going into detail on purpose, sighing gently she reaches out and gives his hand a gentle squeeze. "I'm sorry to have brought up such memories." Pausing for a moment she inquired thoughtfully, "these humans...your master made sure they are out of business?" After meeting Kip Clotho had a feeling it would be permanent if she had.
Thomas fought the urge to pull his hand away, those memories made him very shy to the touch. "Its okay," he tried to smile reassuringly," they are just memories, things are better now." ... "I don't know what happened to them. ... I don' think they have any new pets though." he paused again before continuing, "My master just told me I wouldn't have to worry about them, and I was hers. I never asked about it further."
Clotho nodded slightly before taking another bite of her food, she kept her hands back even though part of her wanted to comfort Thomas - but she had a feeling he might rebel from that. After a moment of letting the tension settle she spoke up again changing the subject almost as if Thomas' past had never been brought up. "Almost forgot, Tek has something for you...since you enjoyed his sculpture so much ... he made you your own." Clotho smiled slightly looking over, "it's pretty interesting...though I warn you they can be a hazard with all their sharp ends. I'd have brought it with me but it's pretty heavy."
Thomas smiled at that. "I get my own? Well how do you like that?" he couldn't help but smile more, "I've never been given art before. Plus i can just leave it by my door as a Viktor deturrent right?" *GRIN* Clotho laughed grinning slightly she relaxes once again, "it might be considered a lethal deterrent. Almost tripped over one the other day and my life flashed before my eyes." With most of the meat and veggies gone Clotho paused to nibble at the cakey thing..."interesting..."
Thomas laughed. "yes, i can't picture dying on one of Tek's creations being worth it. Cute little cakes huh? I... thought you might like them..." *he ate a potato piece without chewing. "Um, mind if I ask you about your past? Fun stories?"
Clotho grinned slightly before eating the rest of the cake, "well you guessed right they are pretty good." Clotho paused considering the question about her past a moment before speaking. "I don't mind if you ask at all, I grew up in a small mining settlement that was along the line that seperates the Draconian Empire and the People's Republic. Who actually has control of it tends to change from time a time..."
"It was pretty stressful a lot of the time...followed in my mother's footsteps and became a pilot. Ended up falling in with an underground group..." Clotho smirked slightly, "I was a professional rebel, we tried to put an end to a fair amount of the nastier things that tend to crop up during wars. Saw a fair deal of fighting...not too popular in the Empire. That's actually how I met Rhys..." Clotho didn't want to overcomplicate her past, but hoped that it might take his mind off of his own to hear hers.
"Wow, so you can fly?" "I'm glad you wern't hurt or anything." he went to kill off the last potato but stopped "Rhys... was a fighter too?"
Clotho chuckled slightly, "a ship, I can fly a ship...actually have one hidden on Cinder's property if you want to see it sometime." Her tail flickered lightly against his before getting still at the question about Rhys, "no...Rhys...Rhys was in an institution - the people there were attempting genetic experiments...they weren't nice to say the least." Frowning slightly Clotho looked off at nothing a moment before continuing, "Rhys was one of the more stable experiments, some of the other subjects ... weren't nearly so lucky." Clotho cleared her throat slightly, "he helped a lot with getting himself free but I helped along with others and ended up tracking his mother down for him. At least the woman that was genetically his mother." Clotho forced herself to stay relaxed, she didn't add in that one of the reasons she had seriously considered settling was that last mission - some of the states the experiments - the children had been in had been frighteningly horrific.
Thomas' brow furrowed at the state Rhys had been in but he tried to stay calm. "He hides it well..." he paused for a minute in silence not knowing what to say. "I've never seen a ship... I'd like to sometime in the future if it isn't too much."
"He's tougher then he realizes," Clotho smiled faintly she was actually pretty proud of Rhys. "Now...I'm full and I think a bit of rest is in order," Clotho glanced over to Thomas moving her tail to flicker against his before standing up.
Thomas did not want to tell her how hot it was she was brushing his tail since he loved it. "O-okay." He didn't know what to say but his body launguage was invinting. "I hope you sleep well." he smiled and followed her.
Deciding they had reached the point that it wouldn't be a problem Clotho took his hand and dragged Thomas along with her, after all she really did need a body pillow to sleep well.

Dealings and a Visit.... Joint - Kip and Cinder over Skype
Rhys, Tek, and Sarraqa were nearby getting a bit of shopping done. They'd come to this area of town so Rhys could meet with a seamstress familiar with making clothing for those with wings and they planned on allowing Tek to drop his present for Thomas off. Clotho had errands of her own to run and while the others were with Rhys so he could be fitted she headed to the Medusa shop.
Clotho had set the shopping trip up for this time of day specifically, from what she had seen the shop would be quiet and it was less likely anyone would be at the desk all the time. Moving up next to the door she took a look inside and it looked quiet for the time being, she'd talk to Thomas about what she was going to speak to his master about ... but at the moment she didn't feel like explaining everything because truthfully some of the implications made her uneasy.
Clotho opened the door slowly, reaching up she held the bell before it could make too much noise and then slid inside and closed the door behind her. Taking a quick look around she headed down the hall toward Kip's office hoping that the woman would be there.
Unusual, the door to Kip's office was open. Everything in the shop seemed dead quit except for the soft occasional paper crinkle coming from inside the room.
Clotho paused and looked at the door suspiciously a moment before stepping forward and rapping lightly on the door frame, "Hello..." tiling her head she looked inside to see if the master of the shop was home.
"Welcome...Clotho?" the greeting ended almost as a question. The shopkeeper had a hint of a disturbing smile which changed as she continued to talk, "Can I help you? Please... sit." she gestured at a chair in front of her desk.
"Yes," Clotho stepped into the office, with a swish of her tail she pushed the door partially closed. After some of the antics she'd seen she had a feeling if the Medusa wanted to they'd be listening but a touch of a deterrent was something she wasn't afraid to give.
"Actually I'm here to talk to you about something I may be able to help you with," Clotho found an armless chair in the room and flipped it around sitting on it backward so that she could rest and her wings and tail could have room. "More specifically...with smugglers that deal in Medusa." She didn't take time playing cat and mouse, after all she had a feeling that Kip was a no nonsense sort.
Kip's eyebrow lifted curious as most people didn't pitch services often to her, but dropped dead serious at the mention of smugglers. "I see you are closer to Thomas then I'd thought." She took the papers off her desk and put them in a drawer without breaking eye contact. "What interest do you have in them?" her hands folded. "They are like bugs, there is no perfect way of getting rid of all of them..."
Clotho's tail flickered slightly at Kip's observation of her and Thomas but she didn't respond to the comment. Instead she focused on the matter on hand, "I spent a good part of my life taking care of these sorts of pests and I was going to offer to help you with these in particular. From what I know of the trade I'd start looking into it on my own as it is - but since I don't know much of how things work I'd be at a severe disadvantage. Which is why I came to you."
Her body relaxed a little bit as she eyed the dragon lady. "What were you looking for in trade?"
"At this moment I have nothing specific that I wish in return, but a favor in the future would be adequate. Of course any recovered goods would be brought to the shop..." Her tail curled around the leg of the chair and her own food, really she couldn't think of any sort of boon to ask at the moment, she was mainly being fueled by her own sense of what is wrong.
"I like the way you think. Yes, all medusa related... things... I need to know about. Anything else a little 'odd' is good too, but they are my first priority." the smile was back in her voice even if it was dark, "Not every smuggler or seller needs a permanent lesson that this is wrong, sometimes it is more.... efficient to teach them... however..." her eye slitted, "There are a few I wouldn't mind not taking care of myself. In fact there is a particular person I would looove to have brought here." her voice purred on the thought. "Unless you just want to end their breathing permanently."
Clotho's tail flickered slightly as she watched the woman, "tell me about them," she spoke softly but thoughtfully. Remembering what Thomas had told her she was attempting to be careful with the dealing ... and she intended to make sure those she was pointed toward were as bad as she was lead to believe.
Kip got up and shut the door fully, then returned to her seat. "This human man has an interesting way of showing his affection for medusa." she adjusted herself and leaned back, "Tell me, is cannibalism or taxidermy acceptable in your culture?"
Clotho watched Kip move around the room not exactly staring but keeping the woman in view, when she continued on Clotho frowned her fangs flashing slightly, "Draconian are not uncivilized creatures - they are not. At least the sort of Taxidermy I'm guessing you are suggesting."
"Okay then," she pulled out a small key from her desk and went into some file cabinets a few feet away, returning with a folder. She put it on the desk and opened it. Photos of things skinned or in various states of dissemblance were shown in most of the photos except a few. Those to some would be more disturbing, the sights of various dishes clearly containing medusa parts that had been cooked. "Some owners do... mount... their lost pets, and while not common is not not allowed... however it is expected you wait until they are dead to do so." She leaned back. "Eating them however is not."
Clotho's tail flickered angrily, she however didn't flinch or look away from the pictures. She'd grown up through a war and seen some of the worst horrors that it could produce, even if the images disgusted her she refused to look away or flinch. "I'm guessing he has some sort of protection - which is why someone hasn't done anything about him yet?" Only after she had taken a long look at the images, so she'd have a good memory of the details did she look back toward Kip. Kip seemed very capable so she assumed the man would already be dead if he didn't have some protection or was evading detection somehow.
"He is a very clever man, with some friends who enjoy his dinner parties. I cannot personally enter where he lives," her lips curled clearly in a sign of massive rage before continuing, " and I will not send any of those I protect near him. You however are different, and far more capable I belive." her voice was cold, "Do not let him trick you, do not try to help anyone you see there... no matter what you see or how they beg. Do not let him touch you." She took a long blink after stareing so intently without doing it. "The less you know about him and his friends the better you will sleep." ... she paused and smiled again lightly "and... you probably don't want to eat anything there either."
Clotho considered a long moment, "the touching - some sort of contact drugs on the skin?" She was already thoughtful and planning, "as for those that are there - if he has Medusa or prisoners of sorts that are living. Once he is neutralized what do you suggest? They could be kept contained until their sanity is established." She'd seen some of the insanity that had ran through the slaves kept during the topple of the last of the People's Harmony.
"Other then a bit of clarification on some points, I'll need to know his name and those of his friends if you happen to know them - and when their next party is."
"Once he is out of the house I can enter. Everything will be taken care of. I assure you." her eye was steel. "No drugs, but treat it as such. He likes ladies, and he likes scales, and once he touches you he will not want to let you go. And you won't be able to get that feeling off your skin..." she twitched quickly, "The medusa won't leave until someone comes and gets them, which I will. If you have to talk with them, let them know things will be better, but do not talk to them before their owner has been dealt with. Even though he is disturbed he still owns them. They will not lie to him if asked about things. Things shouldn't get too out of hand..."
"This information is extremely private. I'll get together some information on his friends for you, but the next party is in a few days." she tried not to look disgusted as party preparation thoughts entered her mind, "He is the only one you must take care of. The others are not so important."
Clotho's tail flickered again, the Medusa had been crippled to a point that they wouldn't protect themselves - until she knew what if anything could be done about it she focused her mind on the matter at hand. "If he is having a party in a few days...striking now might save some of the h'orderves ... and more information on his friends may be found within his home." A slight smile flickered on her face her fangs flashing briefly, "how hard would it be to keep up the appearance of the party if the host has been disposed of and the preparations stopped? Just enough of an appearance to get people inside?"
Kip grinned, a fiery happy evil grin. "Not terribly hard. The more showy food is brought out towards the end ... i hear... " the last part seemed like a half truth, " Sometimes they bring their new pets to be an event slaughter. They are usually very young and shouldn't be a problem for you." she paused, "and do NOT blame yourself for anything that happens in that house."
"If you have problems I do not know how much help can be sent." This was the only time she broke eye contact, "Take care. I don't want to lie to Thomas."
Clotho nods slightly, "Rhys, Tek, and Sarraqa are coming to visit, if you can give me the house specifics...I'll go gather my own help after I'm sure their safe. You won't have to worry."
Clotho stood and stretched her wings slightly glancing to the door of the office...at some point she was going to have to talk to Thomas about it, but for now she had plans to make.
Kip readied a small packet of information for her. It was small and easy to hide. "Ah," she smiled, " Sarraqa..." she laughed, "I hope he has been getting along well with his new family." her grin proved she might know how well that was going. Kip gave a nod a bit more solemn, "Thank you."
Clotho took the package of information and returned the nod, "I'll be coming in at an odd hour I'm sure... I'll call once the house is clear though," once this was over she fully intended to find Thomas - after all she had a feeling she was going to want her pillow once all was said and done.
Heading out of the office she moved down the hall of the shop and slipped out the door before questions could arise. It didn't take long for Rhys and the rest to show up. Tek carried along his artwork for Thomas, considering the little fiend's appearance those that actually noticed him didn't bother to take time to question him too much. Clotho smiled and nodded to the group pleased that reptilian features were hard to read. "I need to see to a bit of business, I want you to go for your visit though - I'm going to leave Douglas with the car. If there's a problem call the house," Clotho glanced over attempting to keep her gaze cool as she noticed Sarraqa's inquisitive view.
The Medusa she realized was likely more able to read her features then the others so she met his gaze and waited after a moment Sarraqa bowed his head slightly to her.
"...alright, we shouldn't be too long. Is everything alright?" Rhys looked a touch concerned as he looked to the draconian, after all he'd been through quite a bit with her.
"Everything's fine, just a few things that need tied up tonight."
Tek gave Clotho the break she needed as the little fiend disregarded most the conversation and lunged for the door of the shop. "Lets go! My art is heavy!" Dashing through the door way he dragged along the rather pointy and dangerous artwork.
Kip met them as they came in. "Hello and welcome!" she smiled and ushered them into a nice large room off to the side, "This must be the fantastic sculptor I've heard so much about from Thomas." *she smiled at the fiend like he was something completely normal. "Let me go get him for you. Sarraqa, would you care to join me?"
Rhys followed along wrapping his wings around himself only looking back once before relaxing in the atmosphere of the shop. He watched Tek dodge ahead and bound into the room that Kip held the door open to, "It is a wonderful sculpture!" Tek babbled happily turning and beaming at Kip, "I'll make you one special next." Nodding Tek pushed the metal statue onto a nearby seat before crawling up to sit next to it, his tail swished excitedly.
Rhys slid into the room, his shirt was new and of a more formal cut then he was usually use to but his wings settled comfortably in it. Smiling he nodded to Kip, "Thanks, that'd be nice." He glanced to Sarraqa who had looked toward him when Kip made her suggestion, having grown familiar with the medusa's body language Rhys smiled slightly and nodded before finding a seat. When Rhys took his seat Tek happily crawled over to him on the seat, "she likes the sculpture! I told you it was wonderful." Rhys laughed resting back the best he could with his wings, grinning some at the fiend.
Sarraqa turned and looked to Kip inclining his head, "it would be a pleasure."
Kip walked with Sarraqa toward Thomas' room. She could have phoned him but this made for a nice excuse to talk with the medusa. "Seems like quite the family you have now. Are you happy with them?" He questions were very casually and softly spoken.
Sarraqa relaxed and fell into pace with Kip, after Clotho's strange behavior he had been admittedly a bit on edge. "Yes they are a good family and despite some differences they are fair ... in their own ways. I enjoy Rhys companionship as well of that of his ... shadow." Glancing back down the hall he then looked back to Kip, "I should warn you though, the shadow was serious he has made almost everyone he knows one of those sculptures and I swear each one is more and more dangerous." Despite the words the medusa smiled faintly.
Kip laughed. "Thank you for the warning. They do look a bit on the knife-y side. Do you have one?" "I am glad you are doing well. If you ever need a break you know you are welcome to rest here." she smiled at him very happy to see he was doing well. She didn't think there was going to be problems but one can never fully know. "Those shadow creatures can be quite full of the desire for attention, I hope you do not feel too left out or in need." she touched his shoulder softly as they stopped at the door.
Sarraqa grinned slightly, "oh there are plenty, I stay in Rhys room and they have started to slowly accumulate." Sarraqa nodded slightly, "yes they can be, and there are two of them in the house ... luckily they seem to keep each other busy." He inclined his head slightly to Kip, "thank you, I will keep it in mind...but I don't think it will be necessary." Sarra didn't plan on leaving Rhys anytime soon, it might be nice to visit the shop sometime...but the boy's nightmares didn't allow him much rest and Sarraqa didn't intend to leave him to deal with them alone. "I have my place, and it is one that I am happy with. I'm glad for your concern..." Sarra smiled slightly, "I do plan to keep up visits, I do enjoy time with others of my kind."
Kip smiled very reassured he was in the right place and knocked on the door. She peaked her head in not really caring for an answer and told Thomas to get his butt out here as he had guests, one with a special gift for him, and shut the door. "There, shall we?" she motioned back the way they came.
Thomas at least had the decency to brush his hair before showing up to the group. He looked for Clotho and was a little sad when he didn't see her. "Hey guys." he patted Rhy's on the head, " wow, you are dressed up today huh?"
Sarraqa stifled a laugh as he waited at the door before following along with Kip to go back to the group. While they had been gone Tek had started his own cushion fort along one side of the expensive couches much to Rhys amusement. Hearing the others return they turned their attention back, Rhys glanced up offering his friend a smile before answering him with a bit of a glower, "mum made me get them...can't say I really care for them but at least my wings feel good." He perked up at the last stretching his blue wings behind him.
Tek seeing Thomas arrive toppled his tower over and ran full tilt at the medusa, "Thomas! I made you something special," Tek scooped up the sculpture as he continued to run.
Fearing for Thomas' safety Sarraqa reached out and plucked the sculpture from Tek's hands leaving the fiend to charge into Thomas for a hug. Laughing slightly Sarraqa set the sculpture beside the two.
Thomas looked alarmed and gave the fiend a hug as he turned to Sarra. "Thank you" his life having flashed before his eyes. "That is for me?" he looked at the shadow and smiled. "Wow it really is nice. Thank you."
He gave Rhys another pat and whispered. "maybe I can try to make you a shirt too..." He straightened up. "Well it does look nice. Look at your wings!" he smiled again meaning it as a compliment.
Tek burbled happily and held up the sculpture, it was made of various metals that ended up coming out at sharp disturbing angles. Gears had been added later on and made twining pattern along the side of it. "It is, and it is very very special. It took me two alarm clocks to get it perfect!"
Sarraqa murmured softly a touch of amusement in his voice, "clocks that weren't actually broken."
Rhys grinned at the suggestion and answered back quickly, "that would be neat." He didn't know what sort of clothing Thomas might make but he thought the Medusa always looked really nice, "thank you." Rhys was grateful for the compliment getting complimented by the meduse always felt more genuine to him then when it was humans. "So how have you been?" Rhys looked over to his friend questioningly.
Thomas looked over the sculpture more. "That is probably the best use of alarm clocks I have ever seen. Thank you." He tucked it carefully not to loose a finger. "I've been great." he wanted to wince, that wasn't a word he used much. "ummm... can I get you guys anything?" He didn't really know what to say but wanted to be nice. "How goes the bar?"
Tek beamed even more, "I can make you more! They just keep getting more clocks." Rhys brought his hand up to cover his eyes slightly laughing softly, "maybe another kind of sculpture...I'm not sure you'll survive salvaging more clocks for more of these."
Sarraqa studied Thomas a moment listening to the other medusa closely, flickering his tail slightly he smiled, "I'm glad to hear you've been so well." A touch of amusement was heard in his voice but not more then that.
Rhys shrugged slightly, "well I don't really want to make you go get us drinks."
Tek held his little arm up like an excitable child waiting to be called on, "oh me, me!"
Rhys glanced over with a bit of a grin, "...and go ahead Tek?"
"I want one of each...drinks and...food." Tek nodded seriously and Rhys sighed slightly.
"Er...Tek doesn't really need ... all the drinks and food." Rhys cleared his throat slightly with a shake of his head.
At the question about the bar Rhys smiled, "well I think they are opening in a week or so...your going to be working there right? I'm not really allowed in...Cinder says the laws here won't allow me - which seems...silly."
Thomas looked over the two. "Food and drink it is... but think you can share Tek? Just even a little bit?" he flicked his tail pretending Sarra didn't get him, but it was so clear he did. "Yes, I'll be working part of the time over there. Well since you can't come in, I'll have to visit you special okay?" He was genuinly asking too as well as tryng to be nice.
Thomas came back with a small pile of cookies and water and cups.
"hmmm I'll have to keep an eye out for sculpture parts for you little Tek" He grinned thinking of ways to mess with Viktor.
Tek pouted slightly but then grinned slightly, "I can share...but make sure you bring extra." Rhys chuckles slightly, "I'm not sure he's really suppose to eat...but the food does disappear..."
Sarraqa had been fixing up the cushions that Tek was trying to make into a fort while the others talked, "why don't you relax some while he does that." Sarraqa continued to keep his face a mask of pleasantries even if he had questions he was keeping them to himself for now.
Rhys grinned and nodded slightly, "that would be neat...I'm not sure what we could do...but maybe we could think of something." Truthfully Rhys hadn't really gotten use to his new life, and having a friend visit seemed like an up from what his days were usually turning out like - which was dull. The boy didn't like being left with his thoughts and no distractions for too long.
Once the food and drink came Tek happily scooped up several of the cookies and found a seat on a cushion. Holding his cookies in a defensive manner he gave the others suspicious looks before starting to munch on the cookies. "Yes! More sculpture parts would be wonderful! I want to make more...and bigger and bigger ones!"
Rhys chuckled slightly before glancing to Sarraqa and then to Thomas, relaxing on the cushions he decided he might as well relax for the rest of the visit, "I'm going to have to wait a while before being able to go to the bar during business hours...Clotho says she has some ideas for things to keep me busy and Cinder seems to agree - I think she's going to try and get me to go to school." Rhys frowned slightly flickering his wings a little, it wasn't so much the school he was worried about but rather his wings.
"School? that sounds... like fun" He wants to say that is sounded awful but figured that wouldn't help. Not that he really had ever been to one. He poured water and passed it out. "Bigger sculptures eh? This one seems like a really nice size already... but bigger could be interesting. Good luck with that." he looked over at Sarra and part of him so wanted to go on about how awesome Clotho was but he figured that wasn't really group conversation. "Are you working there too?" he asked the snake.
"Really?" Tek moved over to look at the sculpture, "maybe...I'm not sure I could move them all by myself if I made them as big as I ever could." Tek curls up next to the sculpture thoughtfully, "I know...I'll make them only as big as I can move." Nodding slightly the fiend decided that would be his course of action when it came to figuring sizes out.
Rhys grumbled some, "I'm sure it'll be exciting...none of the stuff they'll be teaching will actually teach me anything." He huffed slightly taking a cookie.
Sarraqa looked over to Rhys a moment slightly bemused before looking back to Thomas, "I will be working there, but I suspect not nearly as much as you will be...most of my time is taken up elsewhere. If we do end up working the same shifts - it could be entertaining...and perhaps some interesting conversation."
"That sounds like a good plan" The medusa didn't really care if Tek was listening by now. "So Rhys... yeah, you are probably right. But maybe you will meet some nice people." the last two words took him a lot to say without feeling like they were glass in his mouth. "Maybe it will be a nice school?" He took a sip of water and petted Rhs on the foot with his tail. "That could be interesting Sarra." he gave a chuckle, "Cool. are you bar tending too?" he held his hand up over his mouth to hide as he mouthed Clotho is hawt.
Tek started moving around the room only half listening to the others, his sharp eyes searching for new bits of things that could become part of one of his lovely sculptures
Rhys smirked slightly, "you don't really believe that. But I'll go apparently it's something that Cinder and Clotho think I should do.
Sarraqa caught sight of Thomas antics and smiled slightly before answering, "it could be interesting, especially if it's slow at the bar."
Thomas smiled and him and gave a leg squeeze. "They are probably right. I've never been to school so yeah... " he sipped his water, "maybe you can tell me how it is."
Thomas grinned at Sarra like a moron. "yeah we will just have to keep things cool there. Cause we rock like that."
The small group settled and talked for a while, until Sarraqa looked to a nearby clock. "It's getting late...and there is someone that will be needing his sleep," the medusa looked meaningfully toward Rhys.
Muttering under his breath Rhys got up and collected his things, "alright alright..." glancing over to Thomas Rhys smiled, "it was nice stopping by ... I'll be sure to make sure we get to again soon."
Tek gave Thomas a hug as way of goodbye taking care to become substantial enough that the medusa would be able to feel it.

Taking out the Trash Solo
Clotho hadn't wasted anytime after leaving the driver instructions she had called a cab and thrown in a tip for him to speed it up. Striding into the house Clotho paused a moment before catching sight of a light in the ground floor workshop that Cinder had claimed for her own. Not bothering with knocking Clotho strolled into the room, Cinder was sitting over a workbench sanding down what looked like a modification for a hover bike. Any other day the draconian would have asked what she was up to but today she just motioned to the pilot to cut the power to the tool. Leaning back Cinder flipped the goggles she'd been wearing up and looked over, "what's going on..." they didn't always get along but the pilot had worked with Clotho enough to know when she was agitated.
"I need some help, your kind of help," Clotho flipped open the folder of information that Kip had given her displaying one of the more graphic depictions of one of the mutilated Medusa's.
Taking the folder Cinder flipped through the pictures frowning slightly, "someone's torturing the snake guys...and eating them?" Cinder glanced up as she spoke putting the pictures to the side.
"Yes, he's suppose to be a shop owner...but not anymore. His name is Keegan Marks - got his address and some basic information about his " Clotho's wings flickered in unease as she shifted her gaze to the packet of pictures.
"There are always screwed up folks in the world...never understood them. Especially the eating - had sand snake once, much to gamy for my tastes." Cinder stood up, despite the hint of a joke she moved over to a nearby coat rack.
Clotho narrowed her eyes but just flickered her wings again in agitation, Cinder would help inappropriate jokes or not she'd feel better having the pilot at her back.
"He looks like a pretty bad guy," even though she knew it shouldn't be possible Clotho was almost positive she saw a glint in Cinder's eye, "maybe I should pull the MU suit out."
Clotho sighed, despite the dialogue she had a feeling she knew what Cinder was up to and she was glad for the distractions from thoughts of the images in the folder. "You don't need the MU suit plus it would take you most the night to get it together. And we are going in tonight - as soon as possible. He's just a normal human, a sick one but a human. Think Merci` would be up for a trip? I'd like it if you two could take care of his guards...and try not to be too destructive...we want the place to look presentable for the party he's throwing in a couple days?"
It was Cinder's turn to wrinkle her brows, "party?"
"He serves them up at parties, all his buddies will be showing up." Clotho headed for the door snagging a sheet from the folder with various bits of information about Keegan's estate. Cinder grinned slightly, she had a pretty good idea what the draconian had in mind.
"He's not too far away and his estate is pretty secluded."
"Probably what he planned considering his activities - sadly for him it suits us fine as well. Rhys and Sarraqa are together?" Cinder glanced over to Clotho pausing in the hall.
"I left Douglas to bring them home." Clotho moved over to the hall closet, opening it she slide a panel within revealing a hidden wall safe. "If you want to go see if Merci is coming along I'll get us some supplies."
***
Each of the women in their own way were experts at what Clotho had planned for Marks. Arriving at his home it was apparent he was planning some sort of party. Tents had been set up in the law, and a delivery van was leaving as they arrived, "I wonder how many friends this guy has..." frowning Clotho glanced to the other two before exiting the truck. The truck was a light tan color, a color that Clotho wasn't too fond of herself but that people tended to overlook; black or white vehicles tended to be remember able thanks to various media that told people that was what the bad guys drove. They'd found a place not far from the house to park hidden within the trees, "alright you two are on guard duty, we don't know how much those guys know - so try not to kill them unless it becomes apparent they are as bad as their boss."
Clicking into place a harness the draconian strapped her large laser pistol along her side, and then a browning to her hip. Lower on her leg she strapped a small automatic pistol, it was a daintier weapon then she usually liked but was a nice size to be easily concealable. Pulling her jacket over the harness she clipped a shock stick to her belt. "Remember to keep the setting on human unless your trying to kill something, no one here should have hardware, let alone enough to need the cyborg setting."
Cinder nodded slightly, "just don't make us have to come in there after you."
Not bothering with wasting more time talking Clotho set out toward the manor house, Keegan's house was at the top of a series of hills she didn't know if he'd thought of defense when he got the place but that seemed to be what it was set up for. Cinder wasn't one of the best when it came to electronics but she knew enough to keep the security system on the house from doing it's owner any real good. They were going by the theory that Marks wouldn't call in help of the legal kind considering his particular tastes.
For the occasion Clotho had worn a dark navy body suit of the make that draconian tended to prefer, something that most didn't realize was that wearing black in the dark didn't hide you...since black was darker then the night but a dark blue or gray would actually blend in better. Considering her coloring Clotho's white scales would show up brilliantly; she'd learned long ago that there wasn't much she could do about it humans may have created the draconians but they hadn't been thinking of stealth. Knowing that movement also attracted attention she stayed still within the tree line waiting for the nearby guard to finish his round, grinning slightly she watched as the man walked right past her hiding spot none the wiser, giving him time to move away from her she darted from the tree line toward the fence. Trusting that Cinder had actually gotten the electric fence powered down Clotho didn't waste time, she continued her run and jumped catching the fence with her claws her wings lifting to give her more height, with a few more quick movements she was up and over it. The backyard seemed quiet, narrowing her eyes she glanced to the various tents set up for festivities, knowing what Keegan was up to it just further fueled her anger.
A short burst of gunfire from the front of the house drew Clotho's attention and made her wince slightly, it seemed things wouldn't be as quiet as she would have liked. Hopefully the house was far enough away from others that things wouldn't end up getting too out of hand, but just in case it wasn't she was going to make sure what she came to do got done. At least the shots from the front of the house would draw more guards to the other two and give her a more clear shot at their actual target.
Clotho recognized heavy security doors along the back of the house, luckily from the blueprints they had managed to get she knew there were easier ways to get inside. A slight smile came over her face, not wanting to take up time they didn't have Clotho quickly made her way to the house using the decorative fencing she pulled herself up to a second floor terrace and from there higher until she found her way to the roof. Keegan despite his reinforced doors and electric fences apparently liked a bit of natural light and had a large sun roof over the top of his house. The terrace doors had been locked but no one had bothered to fully secure the sun roof, taking out a slender crowbar from her pack she opened the window up enough for herself to squeeze through, glancing over toward the front of the house she saw a brief flash of red hair - it looked like the other two were still up and going at least. Slipping through the window Clotho fanned her wings and let them give her a bit of glide to the floor of the room. Her claws clicked against the finished wood of a long table, she had apparently found her way into the dining room, drawing her pistol she did a quick looking over of the place before dropping down off the table. The manor itself was large to say the least, but considering his plans for the next couple of days Clotho had a feeling where he would be, in the blueprints they had found plans for a room in the basement, the room was sound proofed and had a large walk in cooler attached to it; it was down the hall from most of the rooms that they had determined were likely cells he kept the medusa in and it was just as secure as they were.
She made good time, but to Clotho it felt like she was taking too much time to get down to the cells and Keegan's workroom. The lights down to the basement were off and once she reached the floor the walls were lined with reinforced windowless doors a heavy lock was on each. Just looking at the doors turned her stomach a break in the locked doors caught her attention one of the doors was left open, flickering her attention to the end of the hall she saw that the 'workroom' door had also been left open. Not letting ideas of what the open doors could mean bother her overly much Clotho moved down the hall, she'd initially intended to blow the door off it's hinges; but if he wanted to make things easier for her she decided he was more then welcome to.
Pushing the workroom door open more she stepped inside and immediately froze, directly in front of her was the bust of a medusa the snake had been stuffed and it's face posed as if snarling. Looking over to her right she saw several skins on the wall, the markings were lovely and obviously at one point had belonged to medusa beneath the skin were hallowed out medusa eggs mounted for display. Clenching her gun she turned to look further into the room, the place was huge and various horrific trophies lined the walls and had made been into displays.
"I'm glad you didn't take too much time getting to me," a male voice boomed through the room. Raising her pistol Clotho scanned the area but wasn't able to pinpoint the speaker, she noted some stairs going down as if the room was tiered. "Your intrusion has cost me more then I would have liked," following the voice Clotho made her way over and caught sight of a man standing next to a table, a dragon medusa with pale skin and short green hair laid on it. Glancing to the floor Clotho realized that the female medusa had once had longer hair but he had just recently cut it off and left it thrown onto the floor. "Caoimhe here wasn't suppose to come here until I had at least a few eggs," Keegan reached down running his hand over the medusa's cheek, Caoimhe's eyes glistened with tears but bound and gag all she could manage was to jerk her head away a small distance, "but seeing you on the monitors...I knew none of the others would make quite the same show for you." Keegan turned his dark emotionless eyes looking directly to Clotho and with a flick of his wrist he cuts along the bound medusa's arm.
Growling slightly Clotho started for the stairs, he'd chosen a dragon Medusa for her specifically because he knew it would bother her...a white scaled one at that. The stairs took Clotho from a spot where she could keep sight on the two, not wanting to waste time she hurried her steps, "quite the tasty one isn't she, her patterning will be lovely once mounted." Keegan continued his commentary and Clotho sped her step, once at the bottom of the stairs she found herself near racks with various skins on them up to dry. She heard a female voice crying out in pain, thinking that he must have taken the gag from the medusa's mouth she did the only thing she could and turned sprinting toward the noise. it didn't take her long to come to the spot with the table, the female dragon medusa still laid strapped to the table, struggling her eyes wide tears trickling down her cheeks - her gag was still in place. Glancing up Clotho spotted a TV and DVD set up on a cart near the table Keegan's voice continued on his narrative as dark skinned medusa plead for mercy under his knife. Before the full realization of the set up settled in Clotho heard a voice near her, "what I can't figure out is who's pet you are exactly."
Keegan lunged toward Clotho as he spoke the sharp skinning knifed aimed for her, Clotho turned causing the blade to hit her in the arm and jarring the pistol she was holding from her grasp. "Tricky b*****d," Clenching her teeth Clotho pulled herself away from the man as he reached to grab her. With an arm down but danger so close she clenched her hand around the shock stick, not wanting to give Keegan time to figure out what his next move was she brought the stick around to bash him in the head as she finished the arch Clotho clicked the setting from human to cyborg, "lucky for me your a shitty shot." The shock stick came down with a loud crack, it possibly would have cracked his skull but it wasn't the heavy metal that would have killed him, the electric charge from the weapon went off when it made contact jolting the man with enough energy to down a machine, as he didn't havKyrii Chocolate Dubloone any machinery in him...it just fried him. "I'm no one's pet." Curling her lip Clotho threw the shock stick aside and turned away from the smell of burnt flesh - leaning down she scooped up her dropped pistol. Limping over toward the table with the frightened medusa on it she pulled the poor thing's gag out of it's mouth. The medusa stared still frightened but was slowly starting to come down from it's panic, "don't worry...things are going to be better now..." her own adrenaline was coming down and her arm was starting to throb, pulling a phone from her pocket she quickly dialed the number to the shop, Kip answered quickly and Clotho kept it simple, "it's done, you can come in." She then hung up, not wanting to leave the poor medusa strapped to the table Clotho loosened the creature's bindings; after all it's master was dead.
Caoimhe blinked and slowly sat up, her skin was as pale as Clotho's with light green swirling designs in it in a few spots crimson lines interrupted them where she had been cut. Trembling slightly the medusa wrapped her wings tightly around herself and reached out to Clotho trying to still her with a light touch on the shoulder, "your hurt...let me tend you." By this time her wound was throbbing badly so Clotho sat and let the Medusa do just that, closing her eyes she sat through having her arm tended wondering the whole time what she was going to tell Thomas.

Clotho didn't bother staying around long after things started settling down, she headed to the shop after thanking Cinder and Merci`. Careful of the new stitches on her arm she borrowed one of the spare rooms at the shop and then wrapped in one of the robes she slid into Thomas' room, crawling into bed she wrapped her arm around the Medusa and put aside the talking that would have to happen for the morning.
Thomas woke up to a soft scaly arm draped over him. His first thought was why in the hell had Viktor snuck in, then he noticed the wings. His gave a hard blink not sure if what he was seeing was right. Thomas rolled over as softly as he could to see his dragon friend and noticed the bandage on her arm. He gave it a soft touch confused.
Feeling the movement Clotho blinked slightly, she wasn't a very heavy sleeper and came awake almost immediately. Smiling some she moved slightly and looked over to Thomas, pushing herself up to sit with her other arm. For a moment she wasn't sure what to say after all she had snuck into his room and there were many things to talk about as her thoughts ran her smile faultered slightly clearing her throat she looked over, "good morning...I hope you don't mind..." she gestured to the bed as she spoke.
"N-not at all!" Thomas' eyes were still trying to adjust to his morning brain. "you... are always welcome here." It was not an invitation he gave lightly but he didn't think about it. "is your arm okay?" he tried to move over a little to give her some room on the bed. "and... hi. Morning." he rubbed his eyes after fiering off all his dysfunctional conversation.
Clotho smiled again at the invitation and the stuttering the latter which she found more endearing then she likely realized. At the question of her arm she glanced to the bandage, "it should be alright...the woman that patched it up seemed like she did a good job. It'll take a while to heal though ..." pausing Clotho turned to look over at Thomas, "I wanted to talk to you about something...actually about how I got the wound on my arm." Clotho forced herself to stay composed, which confused her as well - why was it so hard to talk to Thomas about this, her wings flickered in agitation.
"Was it someone at the shop?!" he was slowly building up his rage for when he knew where to focus it. "It wasn't one of Tek's things was it? I'll move mine if you want." he moved all groggy to go towards the sculpture.
Clotho reached over to stop Thomas from moving, "no one here, and not a sculpture..." pausing a moment she once again considered what to say but decided that she might as well just get it all out at once, "there was a man, he was hurting Medusa...killing them and other horrible things." She dropped her hand as she spoke, curling her legs under herself to sit, "I couldn't allow him to keep doing that ... so I stopped him. I got hurt in the process."
Thomas' eyes were a bold mixture of pain and rage behind his mask. His lips curled as his breath shortened. "He... hurt... you...?!" there was no shyness to his anger. His eyes darted around the room like he would see this mysterious man. "Where is he?! I'll break his legs into paste!" His arms were tense as he cut a picture of someone not to be messed with. Focus on Clotho's wellbeing was overshadowing his own kind.
Clotho started in surprise, Thomas' reaction was strongest that she'd seen from a medusa. Part of her mind wondered if it was a peek at what medusa were before they were domesticated so greatly by humans. Giving Thomas a moment Clotho kept sitting and spoke firmly and clearly, "he's dead - he won't be hurting anyone ever again." She considered getting up but after his initial outburst wanted to give Thomas a chance to simmer some.
"He better be dead." his face still twisted with anger, but very slowly calming down. "Did... you kill him?" he spoke with a serious but softer voice. It wasn't acusing, but a genuine question. His hands gripped the sheets.
Clotho nodded and reached over touching his hands lightly a moment before sitting up straight again, "yes I did." She had no reason to deny her actions to Thomas, "he was like a rabid dog that had been left to live too long as it was."
Thomas wrapped the sheet around her quickly. He didn't know how she would react, but he wanted to comfort her and gave in to what he wanted. "H-he shouldn't have hurt you." he wasn't looking her in the eyes but wasn't backing away either. "he didn't deserve that... to have the honor of dying at your hand." Thomas curled his tail around them both like a moat of safey.
Smiling slightly Clotho let Thomas wrap her up and rested her hands petting his tail gently, she decided not to tell him that she'd taken much worse wounds fighting back home. "He shouldn't have...but I wouldn't change it," turning some Clotho looked over at Thomas, "I can do something about things others can't...I don't understand the rules that tie everyone's hands here at the shop...or" cutting off she caught herself from talking more about the Medusa's domestication, "it makes me angry to know that people are hurting medusa..." pausing for a moment she added, "that they hurt you."
Thomas relaxed a little with a sigh. "Yeah, the rules here are a little...um..." his shoulders dropped a tiny bit, " different then they are from others?... yeah. Trust me, most of them are good to have... not all, but most I guess." *his tail coiled tighter and he was quite for a second hanging on her last words, " The medusa that you helped... they were lucky. ... I wished someone would have been able to help me.... you know... " he smiled at her a little. "thank you." he didn't know why but he wanted to thank her.
Clotho wrapped her arm around Thomas and let her tail curl with his some, "I wish I would have been there to..." giving a slight nuzzle she just rested a moment before shifting slightly and glancing to the door. "You do know though...we should probably eat and see what's going on...your going to have some new medusa - he had quite a few locked in cells..."
Thomas' tail rattled like a soft purr. "Food! yes! lets get you some food." he rolled his eyes as his tummy made a noise like it wanted foods too. "So this guy was trafficing with medusa? ... how did you find out about him?" his eyes slitted annoyed at his guess for the answer.
Stretching her wings Clotho started to move ready to get moving at the promise of food, noting his not so sly questioning she quirked an eye ridge studying him a moment before speaking. "I spoke with Kip, which I'm guessing you already deduced." She flashed a fangy grin a moment before turning to a more serious expression, "I went to her - because ... I didn't know who else would have the information I needed."
"Heh... you guessed right." he streched and cracked his neck, "careful with her please-" his calm voice got very intence all of a sudded as he stared her in the eyes, "What did you trade her?!" serious panic was oozing off him.
Clotho tilted her head slightly before flickering her tail over to run against Thomas again, "I didn't trade her anything - she owes me a favor, because the poachers are a problem for her. I just offered to take care of it - that it coincided with my own wishes didn't matter." Despite her words Clotho's eyes flickered over Thomas a moment before glancing to the door, a sudden realization hit her...Kip already knew she held a hefty bargaining chip in her favor if it ever came to it ... Thomas.
"I know your worried...but you also need to understand danger isn't anything new to me, and I'm going to do what I when it's needed."
"oh..." Thomas let up a bit, "good." he gave a soft sad smile as he looked at her, tightly wrapping the tip of his tail against hers. "I can tell you know your way around the world. You are as strong as you are beautiful." he bit the bottom of his lip a little."I... just don't want you getting hurt you know? I can't help it."
She softened some noting Thomas reaction, stepping over she gave him a tight hug before stepping back, "I'd have been worried if you wanted me to get hurt..." Clotho grinned a moment before continuing, "if it helps, I don't plan on getting hurt or taking risks that are too great. After all I have found..." she paused a moment, some of this seemed crazy to her as it seemed to be going so fast, "very comfortable." Smiling a little she gave a squeeze of her hand, "now there were some rumors of food."
Thomas smiled back at her and really wanted to go in for another hug but just squeezed her hand back. "Heh, okay, I'm glad you are happy." his smile got a bit darker, "I bet you kicked the ever-loving crap out of that guy huh?" he didn't quickly let go of her hand as they headed to the kichen.
"Not too much, I did hit him with something heavy and then shocked him to death...a lot." She let him hold on as they headed to get some food, "one thing I learned through the years...no matter how horrible and disgusting people get, you can't let them turn you into what they are..." she knew she had a beast that wanted destruction within her and Clotho had fought long and hard to keep it from winning out.
"******** people sometimes amiright?" he stuck his tounge out and let his fingers fall away from hers as they went into the kitchen area and he saw the two white snakes.
Viktor gave a waive of his hand at the both of them. "Good morning!"
Kee rested near the table, she was wearing a loose robe and bandages had been applied to the cuts she'd received the night before. At some point someone had taken the time to cut her vibrant green locks into a suitable shape so they weren't just left chopped off half hazardly. Her wings were wrapped close to her body in a constant defensive gesture, glancing over she looked to the two new arrivals another medusa and the dragon lady from the night before. Kee relaxed slightly seeing Clotho giving a small wave of her own in greeting.
Clotho smiled to the two in the breakfast nook, "good morning," once they entered the kitchen more she paused near Kee speaking gently, "I'm glad to see you up and around..." glancing over she gestured to the snake lady, "Thomas this is Caoimhe, and Caoimhe this is Thomas."
Thomas gave a slight bow and offered his hand to shake slowly. He wasn't really sure if she would shake it and it wasn't important, but he offered anyway. "It is nice to meet you, welcome." Thomas tried not to feel outclassed by all the beautiful ones he was surrounded by.
Viktor wiggled his tail and butted in, "There is breakfast buffet style stuff in the kitchen! It is full of tasty things... and no I didn't cook any of it.... except the melon, i cut the melon."
Kee took his hand lightly and shook lightly before withdrawing it, "it would be nice you'd join us..." glancing from Thomas she then looked to Clotho, "do you live here too?"
Clotho moved over toward the food indulging in a small tail swipe at Thomas as she moves, "no...I just stay here sometimes."
Kee shifted slightly and nodded, murmuring a soft answer, "oh..."
Clotho frowned slightly looking over a moment but then started picking a few things to eat, "from what I understand even you just cutting melon might be dangerous."
Thomas couldn't help but laugh at Clotho's remark. "So.. so true." he made a plate up and sat down. "Thank you."
Viktor stuck his tounge out at her. "Thomas has been talking your ear off hasn't he?" he grinned, "hope he has been treating you like the hero you are too." he wiggled his eyebrows in a slightly dirty fashion.
Chuckling Clotho found a seat to sit dow with the medusa, "He treats me just right," glancing over to Thomas she gave a quick smile before dividing her attention between the other two, "I'm not really a hero though..." Clotho's wings flickered slightly, she'd had people grateful to her before...and she wasn't very good at taking it gracefully."
"What do you think of the place so far?" Clotho looked toward Kee with her question.
Viktor just smiled more. "Well I think you are." he tapped Thomas on the shoulder and hinted at him to join him in the kitchen to leave the two alone for a few.
"Excuse me," Thomas got up and followed.
Clotho watched the two medusa head toward the kitchen suspiciously before glancing back toward the quiet medusa at the table. With the other two gone Kee turned to look toward her finally answering her question.
"It's alright...but, I'm not sure it's comfortable." Kee tigthened her wings around her shoulders some as she spoke.
Clotho reached over and rested her hand on the other woman's, "your safe now...and well I'll do what I can to keep it that way." She hated making promises of safety to others in the past it had ended badly, so she was careful with her wording.
Viktor filled Thomas in on what had happen last night. About how Kee was the newest addition, and the least disturbed... not that she was unscathed. The others were not so well off and at least one would never likely be rehomed. Both the medusa had seen this type of thing and it was hard to get used too.
Kee smiled glancing over her eyes going to the wound on Clotho's arm, "how does your arm feel? The wound was pretty deep...I should look at it again and make sure the stitches are holding up." Moving over some she moved to the arm looking over Clotho's rebandaging job as she does. "You did a pretty good job rewrapping it...you bathed?"
Even though she asked it sounded like Kee had a pretty good idea that she had, Clotho nodded slightly watching the medusa curiously. "I hope you were careful you don't want it getting too wet."
"Well it didn't start seeping or anyting..." Clotho rested her wings on her shoulders lightly relaxing some, realizing that Kee likely was finding the distraction welcome.
