"Thank you." Lucca smiles, clasping her hands behind her back. "I just thought it was be fair to let Chris do his think since he spotted them before me. I really wasn't paying attention apparently."

Chris frowns a bit agitated at their conversation about him. Normally he would have opened his mouth and said something back but looking down, he steps forward away from the chain made of shadows. "What the hell?" he turns his attention to Rai and Lucca. "You two are the oddest...things I've ever met. And don't go talking about me like I'm not here and the like." the pounding of the hooves draws closer and there are about a dozen men on large horses all adorned with weapons and bags. Their voices are loud and people are starting to gather at windows to peer out at the on comers. "No big difference with these hunters other then they prefer the cold mountains to other places." he answers Lucca and turns around. "You two can do whatever you like, I was just curious about them. Now I'm not seeing as they are humans..except for the big guy." Chris turns on his heels. "Ah...a stiff drink sounds good." he places his hands behind his head and starts to head back into the inn. The leader is plenty large then the rest and reeks of death and dirt.

Chris stops and turns to glare at Rai. "I do not appreciate you thinking I'm a coward." he hisses. "But I do like a good free drink!" Chris then smiles. "I'll take the wager, but be warned I can drink this place out of everything they have!" He starts to pat himself down. "Ah! There he is." he pulls out of his pocket a very small orange kitten and hands it to Lucca. "Hold him. I don't want him to get hurt."

Rai smiles when he sees the kitten. 'So that is the good in him... Not too bad i geuss. So he does have something that he is worried that will be taken from him'

Rai nods at Lucca and smiles at her the most trusting and kind smile he has. He knows he is playing a dangerous game. He looks down at his feet and a shadow box shows in front of him. Rai motions with his hand and it dissapears and reapears by Lucca. "Please make sure that whatever happens that the Hunters dont get that box. It holds something that is most important."

Rai looks over at Chris. "You should take point. I will assist you and besides I have more money than I can spend ever..." Rai turns and looks at Lucca. "What can I say I found my inheritance..."

Rai then turns and his sword starts to glow a purpleish glow. "So lets Begin." Rai says in a blood thirsty voice as the Hunters are only thirty yards away.

Chris takes point and stands firm, hands loose at his sides. He doesn't draw any weapons nor does it appear like he's ready. The large leader pulls on the reins, drawing the massive horse to a stop about 10 feet from them. The horses breath is heavy as though it'd been ridden too long and the dozen riders behind him are all garbed in heavy winter coats with their faces half covered to the nose.

"What's is this?" the leaders voice is heavy but holds no emotion within it. He lifts a gloved hand to the mask about his face and pulls down revealing a rather large nose and sharpened yellow teeth. He draws back his hood letting dark blond hair fall free about pointed ears. "Who are you? Why do you stand in the way?"

Chris sighs as though bored a little. "Hunters...meet us hunted. We welcome you." he nods a greeting and smiles.

"AH!" the men behind the leader start to laugh a little and murmur in some language to each other. "I am Borgoff!" the leader pounds his large chest and the men cheer. "These are my companions, we are known as Boombellons. We are great hunters of you scrawny demons and pathetic night-livers who lurk in the mountains and nearby villages."

Chris shrugs. "That is good to know."

Borgoff climbs off his horse and lands with a heavy thud next to it. He walks forward to stand before Chris and Rai, looming over them both at a staggering 9 feet in height. A wonder his horse could even hold the large man. "You both smell of death and blood." his breath is rank as he speaks. "I will take pleasure in killing you both."

The shadows at the mans feet start to twist and writhe. "It will be a pleasure." Chris smiles up at the man.

Borgoff steps back and several of his men climb off their horses. They too are tall and large, standing at nearly 8 1/2 feet. They and Borgoff draw large heavy swords.

One of the small of the group jumps over their heads, a thin sword drawn and he tries to attack Chris from above. From the left and right, they rest of the men have all gotten off their horses and start to encircle Rai and Chris.

"You may all have first blows." Borgoff laughs. "But save some for me...ah there seems to be a prize too when we are finished." he laughs darkly, spotting Lucca under the tree.

The men draw in on Rai and Chris. The shadows under the leaping attacking surge up and grasp his ankles, pulling him to the ground and then into it, the man screaming out. Chris raises one fist, the fist on fire, and strikes the man nearest him, causing his face to creak and catch on fire.

"Hello Borgoff." Rai says with a sneer. "I must say though you have taken longer to track me then i thought you would seeing how i have stolen the last thing your family ever gave you... right before i killed them all... Would you like to be reunited with them?" Rai says as shadows start to take form all around them. The one in the front starts to shrink down and becomes a small girl who looks up to Borgoff.

"Hi Daddy." The shadow says.

Rai blocks a thrust with his sword and start to attack back and swing. Shadows around them all start to change and swing back and forth.

Lucca lifts the kitten onto her shoulder. She stands and turns towards the burning barn.

"Tsk tsk." she lifts her hand and makes a spiral motion with her first finger.

A great gust of wind rushes towards the barn in the form of a small tornado. The wind is powerful enough to knock the barn over but instead it surrounds the building, extinguishing the fire but not harming the barn any further.

She turns back to the fight and tilts her head curiously. "You'll indulge me a story later, wont you, Rai?" she says aloud but not really expecting a response.

Lucca looks at the shadow form, tilting her head and then points to the little kitten on her shoulder.

"Do you mean this cat?" she asks curiously. "Otherwise I cannot say I know which cat to what you are referring."
