Alice's Restaurant is based on Arlo Guthrie's song about Alice's Restaurant. It's about how he goes to Alice's house (she lived in a church with her husband and dog) for thanksgiving with a friend and they take this HUGE Pile of trash in the church so they threw it off a cliff where the locals threw their trash and got in trouble with the law for it. Then he got drafted to fight in Vietnam but they decided he wasn't "moral enough join the army, burn women, kids, houses and villages after bein' a litterbug." very amusing.

GraveyardSinger The Essence of Evil Jesus Christ Superstar (the best hippie musical of all time!!!)
I'm sorry, but I'll have to disagree with you. "Hair" is most definately the best hippie musical of all time. It's actually ABOUT hippies. It's also an amazing song and movie. In fact, I forced a friend to watch it today. It was awsome. Berger is my hero. heart (Yeah, I know, old-eque topic. And yeah. I'll shut up about the friggin movie. Sorry, lol.) You're probably right about it being more hippie-ish, but I don't think I could like the songs any better than JCSS. I've got Tommy at my house now though...I need to watch it!

Speaking of musicals... I was just in Godspell. 3nodding Last night was our last night and there was what everyone was calling "the hippie guy" in the front center seat and he sang along to every song. biggrin heart He had a "Hair" shirt on and I told him I loved it. It was the highlight of my day. heart heart heart I aspire to BE that guy.

It seems that with that song and other songs if you play them with images your brain will want to make them seem like they are playing in sink * also it wouldnt help noticing this if you were stoned* also the band has been asked about this before and says that there was no intention for this to happen, and it was never made to do that. Now, tripped out hippie movies? I would have to say Tommy, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland, and The Wall.. peace

I actually found the restaurant when I was up in Massachusettes. It was closed.
