Rufio sat beside him instead, leaning down to groom him. She could tell he was pleased and that made her happy, she actually couldn't possibly be more happy then right now. Her tail flopped back and forth contently.
"Just two, Nanook and his son Vulcan. But I'm thinking of making Sunny a Ninetales, you remember him right? He was the vulpix I caught that attacked the group of us with Sunny Day. I think he would enjoy it more, to play with the boys. Ya know?" She smiled, she loved her fire pokemon, especially her group of Vulpix and Ninetales. "Do you have any new additions or evolutions?" She asked, having been preoccupied with her own pokemon growing.
"I think it would be a a great idea... I wonder if we could do it. You with your mix-matched team. Mine, well it's pretty explanitory." She chuckled again. "Rufio and Branimir would be unstoppable!"

Branimir's tongue lolled out of the side of his mouth as Rufio groomed him and a quiet rumbling of contentment seemed to have no end. His eyes closed and he rolled over onto his side pawing at her gently trying to get her to lay down beside him.
"Oh I remember him, the shiny recessive one right? I think he'd be one hot ninetales." she giggled slightly and then smiled "Yah, I have a buneary I caught when Ammy and I went on that camping trip... that turned out to be a rocket hideout. I don't think she'll ever evolve though, she was abused so badly, she's still frightened if there are loud noises or fast movements." Raina frowned thinking of Aimi being so scared all the time, it made her sick to think of what those rockets had done to her and all the other pokemon as well.
"I think we could, we should go get badges from the current gyms and then see about building a gym in one of the new cities that are sprouting up!" Raina grinned, taking another bite of her sandwich then giggled at Branimir's antics. "He's such a big teddybear, it's hilarious!"

Unable to ignore what he wanted much longer, Rufio happily laid next to him, snuggling up close. She whinned happily and licked him again, her tail laying over his.
"Yeah that's right, he's a sweetheart. I think I will soon, but I still can't get myself to evolve my little Venna." As she listened, Jenette's eyes grew wide. "I was signed up to go on that trip! But I had to back out... figures, everything that sounds fun ends up being a Rocket scheme." She grumbled but then stopped, thinking about abused pokemon, "Were there a lot that had been mistreated?" In her mind, it was so wrong to do that, even for a Rocket.
"I think we should try!" Jenette's mind was reeling with ideas for the hopefully near future. To be a gym leader... it's what she had always wanted...

Branimir nuzzled her and rested his head on her shoulder, soon after his tail was draped over the both of them like a blanket and he was grooming her, licking her ears and her fluffy mane. A sudden flare of light drew attention to the ribbon of flame that was now dancing around them, gently caressing both of the massive fire dogs.
"I don't know if Venna would want to evolve, she seemed pretty happy last time I saw her." Raina sighed and looked at the ground "Yeah, there were... quite a few, there was even a Raikou! It was so magnificent! I wanted him so bad but one of the other trainers rescued him before I got a chance." A dreamy sigh came from the young woman as she remembered seeing that legendary beast not even 20 feet from where she was standing. It had been a once in a lifetime experience.
"We should, we'll have to let our pokemon play together more often though... so they learn to work together. I don't know how your fire types will take to Ayirwen. I think I might go into the city and challenge one of the gyms next week, I've been training hard with Branimir and Ayirwen. Aimi won't be much help because she's frightened and Ammy only listens if she feels like it now so I can't rely on her but Branimir should be able to handle it." Raina grinned and suddenly her attention was attracted to the glow around the two pokemon and she smiled wider. "I wish I could do that..."

If Rufio had been a cat-type pokemon she would be purring to her heart's desire right now, but being as she was of the canine breed she whined happily and licked Branimir the few chances she had. Snuggling up closer to him she leaned into him, her head resting on his paws. As soon as she saw the ribbon she was quick to add in her lighter tinted flame to join his, their symbol of their unity.
"A Raikou!?" Jenette gasped, staring at Raina. "You're so lucky to even see one! I'm surprised you weren't struck dumb..." She teased, she knew she would have been unable to remember her own name if she saw one of the legendary pokemon, although she had always dreamed of having a dragonite. "I so should have gone..." She groaned, flopping back onto the grass.
"Good luck with your gym challenge! I sure hope you win a badge, then you can let me know how hard it was so I can train more..." Grinning, Jenette rolled to her side to watch the love-drunk pokemon. "You know, I've been thinking of becoming a collector... although I'd love to be a gym leader..." She mused out loud.

Raina laughed at Jenette's comments. "Yeah... I was a little preoccupied, it was so upsetting though, I swear if I ever see those rockets again Branimir's fangs are going to be the last thing they ever see." She frowned then kicked at the grass before sitting down next to her friend.
"Ya know I'm a collector right? Just because I collect pokemon doesn't mean I can't be a trainer too. It just means that some of my pokemon I use for companionship or breeding rather than battles. Like Aimi, she's probably just going to be a companion I don't think the scars will ever heal for her and battling would be too traumatic."
Branimir was growling deep in his throat and the sound resembled a purr, or a motor. Slowly his eyes slid closed and he rested his head on Rufio's shoulder. Everything was perfect in the world at that moment.

"I'll be behind you on that. I can't stand the thought of it... a Raikou..." Jenette sighed and shook her head. The Rockets would stop at nothing to get pokemon.
"You are? I guess I didn't know that... I don't think I have a pokemon that wouldn't want to battle... Rufio seems all for it, but I'm sure Branimir wouldn't like that." She grinned as she looked at the snuggled up arcanines. "I think I might do that..." She mused as she felt the pokeballs on her side.
Rufio, content with everything in the world nipped at his paws in an affectionate way and looked to their trainers. If Jenette or Raina saw her, they would only see pure joy.

Raina grinned as Jenette agreed with her about the rockets. She could just imagine the hell they would raise if both of them unleashed their pokemon upon a rocket hideout. She couldn't help but laugh at the thought.
"Yeah, I think he might get a little too overprotective, he might pummel any pokemon that hurt her." she said as she looked at the two snuggled up together.
Branimir lifted his head and his eyes slid open again as Rufio nipped at his paws. He growled playfully before rising to his paws and bounding off into the trees, his tail swishing behind him.

"I wouldn't doubt that!" Jenette agreeded, watching as Branamir darted into the trees. "I wouldn't want to be the person or pokemon that he went after... especially if it were a rocket..." She grinned, a picture coming to mind of Branamir hovering over a group of rockets who were all begging for his forgiveness, tears rolling down their cheeks.
It was then that Rufio jump up and ran for the trainers, looking at Jenette she gave a short bark.
"Oh boy... you might want to call Branamir back!" She laughed as she scrambled up and waited for a moment before jumping up and landing on Rufio's head, crawling to her back.
Rufio didn't even slow down, she raised her head again, having lowered it for Jenette to climb on, then she spun, chasing after Branamir.

As Rufio came towards them Raina scrambled to her feet and out of the way of her giant paws. As Jenette worked on climbing onto Rufio's back Raina gave a high pitched whistle that was actually very, very loud. As Jenette and Rufio dissapeared the sound of thundering paws was heard and Branimir appeared again crashing out of the trees and skidded to a halt at Raina's side, crouching down low so that she could climb on.
Quickly Raina swung herself up onto Branimir's back and grabbing onto his thick mane of fur she gave a low whistle and he was off again, running through the trees, a few branches snapped off but so far there was no extreme damage to the forest.
Branimir ran swiftly through the forest, dodging the trees very well for a beast his size. As he ran he emitted a short series of barks, calling for Rufio.

Jenette looked back once to see Raina gone and a flash of black as Branimir's tail disappeared into the trees. Tugging on Rufio's mane ever to slightly she steered her in the general direction, it took Rufio only moments to readjust her direction when she heard Branimir. Within a minute she was running beside him, darting this way and that to avoid the trees, ducking when necessary, but none were ever dangerous enough to swip Jenette off her back.
Never did they collide, but they sure got close to one another. There were times Jenette could reach out and touch Raina's hand if it were extended towards her. The amazement shot through her, she was riding on an arcanine's back and travelling very, very fast...

As Rufio's form appeared beside her and Branimir Raina looked over, grinning and laughing with the exhiliration of the ride. She waved at Jenette and then winked before giving two short low whistles to Branimir which sent him kicking up his speed.
It was amazing that Raina wasn't getting smacked in the face by branches as they ran because Branimir was certainly cutting it close. Then it occured to her that he was snapping off the branches with his teeth so they wouldn't come back and hit her. She shook her head in amazement that he could be so considerate.
Suddenly Branimir broke through the other side of the forest and there, spread out before her was a huge expanse of fields and a river and, in the distance, some vaguely familiar mountains. The same ones she had crossed on her journey to Inhinx when she had first met Jenette.

Jenette laughed wildly as she clung to her arcanine. Rufio was smaller, so a little less likely to smack Jenette with the branches. She ducked into Branimir's path as he sped up. This made it easier, she didn't have to try and avoid all the hazards that would dethrone her rider. She nipped lovingly at Branimir's tail and howled lowly, quietly. It was meant for him and him alone, her acknowledgment of her love for him.
Jenette sighed dreamily, these Arcanines were definitely a wonder to be around.

Branimir heard Rufio's howl as he entered the clearing and he emitted a quiet, deep baritone howl of his own, audible only to Rufio. His promise to love and protect her for as long as he lived. At Raina's urging he moved forward at a slow walk, making his way towards the river.

Jenette grinned, her hair wind-blown around her head. "What a ride!" She said in an excited whisper, her eyes wide. As she looked to Raina and Branimir, she felt a giddy sensation in her stomach. She could get used to this wild game of chase... just as her thoughts were about to stray she looked up at the mountains. "Hey Raina... arn't those the mountains we went over... the ones right before that ghost town?" She questioned lowly, fearing a loud vice would break their mood.
Rufio sped up a little to walk beside her love. She was still smaller than him, even though she was an arcanine, but she could still keep up with him nonetheless. Her tail flicked against his flanks as she stepped closer, allowing their passengers to converse.
