"It might make things easier if you put in a good word about me with the town guard or militia. It helps having someone to vouch for you when trying to explain that your not going to cave in someone's skull if they let you enter the town," he said with a smile, "and if you don't feel comfortable for what your not sure about, your presence would at least almost guarantee I'm not attacked."

Serenity giggled. "I don't know how much of a help I'll be, they don't know me. I'm just a silly girl from a tiny village from no where. You might have better luck if have a squirel vouch for you."

Serenity, quite new to dimpolmacy still did not understand. "Why? They don't know me." She would be stranger to them. She could be an attacker or spy. They had no right to trust her.

"Let me explain something to you: Grey dwarves, or Duergar, are known to think themselves as superior to all other races, and would rarely even tolerate other races unless it benefits them. Duergar are known to do literally anything to reach their goals, even if it means torture, slavery, or slaughter, including of their own race, and sometimes families," Valrak spoke as if this was everyday information, his smile barely moving, "Now, if haven't been able to tell, I'm a bit different. If I were to approach alone, especially in my gear, people would most likely assume I intend to take something out, usually something of importance, like some vital information or a life. Now if I'm to approach with you, they would still suspect me of something, and I won't lie; you as well, but it wouldn't be as clear. After all, a duergar with a human is rarely heard of, and few humans would ally themselves with a duergar, out of fear, so it would be a puzzling sight from another's point of view."

(Seeing as I have not been able to get a hold of an O L I V E masterpiece, and not having a response from her, I will continue with out her. If she wishes, she can post her character in the RP again.)
Before the figure's entire face was revealed, he quickly pulled his hood over his face again, and looked in the direction of where a few noises where coming from. After a few seconds of watching three wolves came out of the bushes, they seemed odd, as if they where rabid. Ignoring Lonta, they charged right towards the figure. Screaming for help, as he ran towards the main road he left her behind in his state of panic. Seeing the road come into view, and seeing two figures (A dwarf, and a human.) on it, he ran towards them with the wolves behind him. "Help!" Yelling as he got closer to them, he hoped that they would with the wolves, not seeming to want to give up.

While waiting for an answer, Valrak found it strange the girl hadn't yet commented on the magical blur that caused eye-strain when people looked at him to long. Before she could, however, he heard a cry for help behind him. Again, and by wolves-none the-less? he thought as he turned to see the newest stranger. He charged right past, hammer still in hand, and made an upward swing at one, making it do a back flip through the air and twitch in mid-flight as a burst of electricity traveled through it. Most likely fatal, the dwarf turned his attention to the other two critters.

Seeing the dwarf send one flying backwards, the figure stopped running and watched for a second as the wolf tried to stand up, but failed horribly.
The other two looked at the dwarf bearing their fangs. They slowly started to circle with looks of hunger on their faces. If one could read animal thoughts, they could hear them thinking "Mmmm... dwarf..." The bigger one, the alpha, lunged at the dwarf but was caught by a sword in its side. Whimpering it looked at what used to be its prey. The figure watched the animal as it breathed its last, and let it fall to the ground.
The third wolf stood there for a moment before darting off into the forest seeing the pack leader had fallen. The one the dwarf struck laid on the ground on the verge of death.
The figures legs gave way as he fell to his knees, and placed his hands on the ground to keep himself up. He was exhausted. Hasn't eaten since... Couldn't even remember. His stomach growled, his legs ached, his breathing heavy. "Thank... you..." He managed to say as the hood turned towards the dead wolf.

Valrak found it strange, not many animals would be dumb enough to attack an armed dwarf, let alone a blurry, heavily-armored, and armed dwarf. He let the thought go and turned to the newcomer. "It's what I do. You a'right?" the dwarf asked.

"I'm fine..." He leaned back on his legs so he was sitting, and no long on his hands. "Hungry though..." Trying to laugh, but failed miserly at it, he looked at the dwarf, and didn't know exactly what he was. He knew Valrak was a dwarf, but didn't know exactly what kind, but was just glad to have some help.

The dwarf laughed, "Ha ha ha, excellent timin', how you feel about havin' wolf?" he said, gesturing the two corpses.

"Anything sounds good right about now." Wiping the blood off the sword, he sheathed it. "But.. They might have been diseased..." Falling silent for a moment, he seemed to stare at the wolves bodies for a moment then looking back at the dwarf. "They don't normally attack people here... Do they?"

"They might, considering your the second victim I've seen today. Every wolf pack is different you know, but this does appear more aggressive than normal," he replied, "Of course, a good fire gets rid of some of the toughest of impurities. If you don't want to risk it, I could probably haggle some food out of the town three or four hours down the road."

He shook his head. "Going to the town would be better..." Looking off to where the sun was setting as his stomach growled some. "Its getting late and..." Watching the wolves dead body as if it would leap back to life once again, he shook his head before looking down the road. "I'd rather not be here at night." His aching legs wanted him to just drop there and lay down, but something in him kept telling him to keep moving.
