"Hah, no doubt," Okassis agreed with a chuckle. He was anything but bothered by the idea that his yammering could earn him a reputation - after all, he was a Trader. If there was a lot of talk when he came into a town, well, all the better for business! Maybe someday, he'd start finding that there could be consequences to challenging the common opinions - but for now, it hardly seemed to occur to him.

"Came here just yesterday, in fact," the blond replied. "Wasn't much a long trip, since I was already doing a bit of trading in these parts." If there were any rumors he was worried about, in fact, it would be the ones related to the fight that had gotten him Searched... but Tiaet didn't seem like the sort that probably bought into gossip so much anyway, right? So he was probably safe.

"Sounds like the perfect life for someone who likes to travel." She noted. "Did you enjoy it?" She asked, walking around her carving project and deciding what to do next. "Well, I guess it didn't have as much appeal as standing so I guess thats silly. What do you think you might impress? I'm sure there's an perfect dragon out there for an highly opinionated Trader-boy." She gave him one of her teasing grins, waiting to see how he'd react to the jibe. It was a bit pointed, but she didn't mean it as aggressively as it might be taken. He was highly opinionated, there wasn't really a way around that.

"It was... life," Okassis answered in a diplomatic tone. "As a child, I thought it was one of the best lives out there. When I got older, I started to see flaws." Like how he never had chances to keep friendships outside his caravan, except for the few rare (and rarely-seen) exceptions. He smiled and shrugged, dismissing such thoughts. Or how the lifestyle kept him away from the Holds, where he might get Searched.

And as for the dragon he might Impress....

An instant grin leaped to the boy's face, a puff in his chest, a pride in his eye. "Well, I've got a hope-" ha, that was an understatement, he had a certainty! "- that I might draw a bronze," he answered, as modestly as he could pretend. "But the question isn't quite what I think I might Impress, as what thinks I'm worth Impressing, isn't it?" Whatever his bragging, he wasn't stupid. He wasn't so sure that just any dragon would look at him and think they'd found their perfect Rider. He wasn't in it just for a dragon - he was looking for the one, the dragon, that would make his dreams a reality....

"How about you? You got any inkling?" Okassis asked, grinning.

"Well..." She considered this slowly, and her face colored a little which had nothing to do with the hard work. "....Not a gold." She said, and laughed, as though she were being self depreciating. "...Actually I really have no idea." She admitted. "Just...probably not a gold. Not that there's one on the sands right now as is..."
For her to impress a gold, it felt like she really should have been more interested in...well... Men. After that....after that it was a toss up. On the one hand, she would have loved to impress something amazing, something that would shock and surprise people and make her proud. A brown maybe, though that was admitting more than she cared to on some of her feelings. Then again, any dragon would make her proud weather it surprised people or not. "I'll cross my fingers that you get a bronze though."

"I understand," Okassis said surprisingly to Tiaet's reluctance that she might Impress gold. With a grin, he looked to her and added, "You seem like the sort who'd do better with a fighting dragon, if that makes much sense. Not disparaging on golds in the least, but if there's Thread, it'd be hard for me to imagine waiting with a home-duty dragon."

He would have clapped her on the shoulder, but hands bloody at they were, it seemed more appropriate to settle for a grateful nod. "And I'll do the same, that you find yours," he replied. Shards, they were really making progress through this meat - Okassis didn't know why, he could barely remember doing any work at all! But ah, that's what happened when you had good conversation, time flew by....
