Sabin gave a full-out laugh at Awen's comment. "True! True! And clever. I like it." He gave a small applause to emphasize it.
"And it looks good - the hair I mean." Sabin searched his mind trying to remember what this woman was becoming. She was a newcomer, and admittedly he hadn't had much time to look at their files yet. It would come to him.
"Me?" The thought struck him as highly amusing, and he laughed again good-naturedly. "Who's to say." He gestured to himself. "What would you peg me for?" His eyes twinkled in amusement.

Hargun waved at Lauren as she left then as Amaya returned, took a long sip of water, then a deep breath. "Sorry.. I feel like some useless crippled right now.." she said and tried to scratch her her face iwht her non-webbed finger, which used to be a thumb.
She turned around in an awkward circle and made a few, loud whispering noises. "Ah!" she said, and found a chair to sit down in and sat, hanging her head down. It was far too bright.
"God.. Amaya, Im so confused now.. I just.. feel so differet. I cant get over it. " she murmered, then her ears twitched a bit. "By the way.. who in the world is that over there talking with Awen..? He doesnt even sound fairly familiar.."

She blushed a little bit at both the compliments of her 'costume' and of her hair. Besides Colche no one really complimented her hair on the island yet. Sabin....didn't seem to be so bad. It must have just been that costume that was throwing her senses off. He really seemed nice after all.
She studied him for a moment thinking. What would this man be? His grin reminded her of soemthing but what she couldn't peg right away. Hmm.... My what big ears you have... all the better to hear you with.... and my what big teeth you have..... He did kind of have a wolfish grin.... hm. "I don't know really... something strikes me as 'wolf' but you just don't fit that exactly..... Maybe a tazmanian devil, oh but the ears don't fit right... hm..... some sort of predator anyway. Actually I'm not sure I remember what Taz. Devil's eat but honestly I rmemeber hearing they're pretty vicious when given the chance...." She shrugged caught herself right away on that one. "Not as to say I think you're mena or anything! Sorry..."

Lauren carried a plate piled up in meatballs, miniature hot dogs, and something she had been meaning to try, chocolate covered ants. She popped one in her mouth and perked up a bit, they were awesome!
Hmmm... she thought of how much easier life would have been if she could eat those god damn cockroaches in the past. No more sneaking food out of dumpsters and convieniant stores, the food would always come to you.
But then again, her hang ups would NOT get her to eating cockroaches for quite some time. Too much bad association there.
She wandered over towards Awen and Sabin, her glass full of the weird tasting liqued. She was starting to like the taste.
"HEY!!!" she greeted Awen again with her mouth full. "Left Hargun and Amaya alone... I'm not much help in those kind of things. Especially since she looks so god damn cute as a bat!" She couldn't hide her enthusiasm. "Hey, who are you?" She asked towards Sabin acknowledging his existance.

"It's alright, don't worry." Amaya followed her friend over and set the water down on the chair beside her, choosing to stand in front of her and try to block some of the light and keep others that came in from seeing her just in case.
Her frown deepened and she looked at her feet. For once she couldn't find any comforting words. Luckily she had yet to get that far in her... transformation to know what loosing your humaity felt like. Blinking, she turned to look over at Sabin and shook her head. "I seriously have no idea. He just... popped up shortly after I got here." She flicked her tounge out in his direction to try and taste what he was feeling. Sadly, she was a little far off, so only picked up a few things which... made her brow furrow. "I... don't think he's a subject... And if he is he seems a little too happy about all of this."

Sabin smiled at the compliments (in his opinion). "No offense taken! None at all. And I'll let Ambrose keep the honor of being the only wolf on the island so far." The image of himself as a tasmanian devil was certainly an amusing one. "I think their ears are round, however." He mused. "Well, I suppose time shall tell, yes? Frankly, I'm rather fond of the predatory animals, so no worries."
He glanced quickly over to Hargun as he was mentioned, but then back to Awen, not about to obviously eavesdrop. You could learn much more interesting things that way.
"So what about yourself? Any guesses? Or... hopes?"
He looked to Lauren as she approached, and gave her a small bow. "Greetings! Come, join us and our conversation!" he welcomed. "I'm Sabin. It's nice to meet you....." He trailed off, letting her introduce herself.

She smiled and nodded, at the comment on the tazmanian ears, she had thought something like that. Though she had no I dea who Ambrose was she was surprised at there already being a wolf.
Awen was shifted her weight thinking about what to tel Sabin when Lauren arrived and she grinned a bit. "Hi Lauren! Sabin-Lauren, Lauren-Sabin, yay we're all aquainted!"
She shook her head a bit. "And I know Lauren I can't help that sort of thing at all yet...."
Looknig back to Sabin she shook her head. "I don't want to be a fish..." She said softly. "But someone got me to thinking that's what Moreau has in store for me. When he came he said he would cure my hydrophobia.... and ...someone suggested it was because he was turning me into a fish.... but i totally don;t want that. Chipmunk or... or Lion or something, that would be cool. A sugar glider even better! But ...not a fish...or a bug.... yeah...."

Julian walked up to the karaoke machine, looking through the tracks...before finding one he liked.
He grinned.
And put it in the player, picking up the microphone.
"...Testing...one, two, three...testing...is this thing working all right?"
JULIAN. WITH A MICROPHONE.
Oh, boy.

Lauren raised an eyebrow at Sabin, he seemed a little... off, even to her. Non-the-less he was happy and having a good time, that's what she wanted to be around. Not that Hargun could help it but her being upset was... upsetting.
"Lauren." She bluntly filled in his sentence. "I think I may have briefly seen ya around... not sure." Sabin was confusing, highly confusing to Lauren. She couldn't pin point where she saw him or if she did at all. Was she imagining things?
Mongooses don't hallucinate do they? That would be freaky and Lauren certainly hoped not. She popped another chocolate covered ant into her mouth giving a cheesy chocolate covered grin.

Hargun frowned to Amaya's comment. "He did sound a bit happy.." she muttered and took a sip of her drink. "ugh.. I was hoping Id have a blast at this party but.. well.. plans changed. At least I still fit my costume I guess."
Her own attempts to cheer herself up were lame, but seemed to work. Self reassurance was good.
After Julian spoke into the mic, she couldnt help but laugh. "Oh my word.. is he seriously about to sing?" she asked and took another drink.

"Hydrophobic?" Sabin queried, cocking his head a bit and giving Awen his full attention for a moment. "Though... I suppose becoming a fish would be a hard and fast way to get past that. That's the reason you came to the island?" The gears in his head spun, and suddenly clicked forward with an answer. That was right. He had wondered at the strange animal selection, but after speaking with her Moreau's choice made much more sense - and should certainly be fascinating to come to fruit. "But, I hope you get something you like. Furry and such." He nodded.
"And hello there, Lauren." He put a clawed finger to his lips and pondered. "Perhaps.... I admittedly haven't been quite as social as many of the other Islanders, but it's quite possible we've passed eachother before."
He took another sip from his goblet.

Amaya nodded and then jumped slightly as Julian spoke into the mic. She laughed and shrugged. "I have NO idea but..." Her long, clawed fingers ran up and down her arms and she would have shivered if she could.
"I really need to go bask. I don't want to end up just lying here and being an unanimated lump of scales." She gave a forced laugh and looked back to Hargun. "I'm gonna run and get some heat in me for a few minutes and probably grab a hoodie... take care, okay?" Her voice dripped with concern as she sluggishly made her way back to her duplex for some much needed head and more clothing to keep her warm.

Satisfied that the mic appeared to be working...he pressed play and started to sing.
Surprisingly, the song was quite...boisterous. And Julian really had a very good voice - he really opened up on the stage after a few drinks.

She giggled looking over to Julian and giving him a little "yeeow!" call from where she was giggling harder before turning back to Sabin.
She smiled looking up at the taller man. His support, even thoguh she wasn't fully sure who he was, was very uplifting. "Maybe I came here to get rid of my phobia, yeah. But I'd rather not but thrown into the water, you know? Dealing with the issue, fine, living on a place surrounded by water....fine. But having to live in it? No way....."
She tilted her head slightly, almsot involuentary at the way she could almsot see gears turning in his mind. She wish she knew what about.... Something ...more was to this man that what he appeared, she was sure. "thanks for the furry vote of confidence though.. It helps." She couldn't help but look into his eyes still. What was he thinking....?

Hargun smiled and waved to Amaya as she left. "Kay, I'll see you later."
She closed her eyes and sat back, taking aother drink ofher water and listened as Julian sang one of her favorite songs, taping her feet along to the beat. As he finished, she made a whistling noise, the best she could with one of her pointy fingers.
