He'd been in the process of wriggling back into his boxers when she'd shooed him into his room, making him have to hop to keep from falling over and catch himself on the edge of his dresser.
"You're talking like you do this every day or something..." he said, finishing pulling them up and around his waist. There. That was better.
It had never really felt like 'putting up with her'. She'd teased him a lot, sure, but if teasing bothered him deeply, he would have been driven off the deep-end years ago. As she rummaged for her clothes, he sank down on the mattress beside the rumple of garments, the tip of his tail twitching in thought.
"So, I...." he began awkwardly, then gave a chuff of laughter. "....I never really thought it was gonna happen that way." Breaking the ice had never been his strong point, but one could give him credit for trying...

She paused in her movements at his first comment, giving him a side glance with raised eyebrows. Was he talking about the sex or the freaking out? Hopefully just the latter. Either way, the answer was the same. "It's never happened before..."
Finding her bra, Tourma paused before turning her back on him and pulling up her shirt till it was bunched around her neck. Once the girls were essentially covered, she faced him and continued to wrestle with the hooks.
Again, her eyebrows raised at his commentary, but this time she tried to hide a smirk. At this moment, he was adorable in that goofy and awkward sort of cute. Or something along those lines.
"Me either," she answered honestly, but stopped suddenly while crossing her arms over her chest. "Have you thought about boning me before?" It was all she could take not to smile. She was jesting... Kind of.

"Uhm..." His face flushed as he looked away again. At least this was a familiar sort of awkward with her perpetually putting him in the hot seat. Even if it wasn't really a topic that had been discussed between them before.
"Maybe a couple times." he admitted. He was a guy, what did she want from him? Save the usual 'DO NOT WANT' taboos of family, he figured he'd fantasized about every girl he'd known at least once. "But I mean, its not like I ever..."
Ugh. He could never just leave well enough alone. And he couldn't just leave a sentence like that hanging either. "....its not like I ever put a lot of thought behind it. First time I saw you, I figured right off the bat you were way outta my league."
He dragged himself up the covers of his bed to prop himself against his pillows properly. If he was going to open what could very well be a can of worms, he might as well be comfortable for it.
"You're pretty, I'm not. You're smart, you know stuff about cars, all I can tell you is where to download the latest software updates to make your games run better. You go out to clubs and stuff and actually meet people, I spend all night trying to kill a polygon dragon. I mean, are you seeing the trend here...?" he asked, managing a chuckle as he looked up at her.

What started out as an amusing answer to a meant to be awkward question, turned into something more serious than she had anticipated. Just as he had gotten comfortable on his bed, so did Tourma, who pushed the rest of her clothes onto the floor for the occasion.
She didn't find a reason to interrupt him, and found herself increasingly interested in an arbitrary spot on the comforter. He was saying things that no one outside of her family and friends had told her, and while he -was- one of her friends, this was different. This was very different.
The question brought her attention back to him, her stunned and slightly confused expression betraying the teen. "I'm not... I'm not out of anyone's league... It's just no one's really wanted me like that." Tourma shrugged and brought her knees up to her chest, wrapping her arms and tail around them.
"At least you're not a metal freak of nature," she said quietly, frowning and resting her chin on her knees. "Don't sell yourself short..."

As she spoke, he arched a brow at her curiously. "Why would you think you're a freak?" he asked. "Do people really give you that hard of a time about the metal?"
It really, compared to some of the things he'd seen in Gaia, was not that noticeable. Not to him, anyway....hell, he'd not even noticed it was actually metal until she'd pointed it out, and then it had been one of those things you just couldn't unsee.
...but then he'd never been the most observant person on the planet either. Maybe some people really WERE that offended by it. ....and maybe those people were jerks.

"It nearly killed me," she said in a hollow voice, staring off into space with her jaw set. Shaking her head, she brought herself out of the negative memories as best as she could. "And it's the reason I can't dance anymore..." That was about the best explanation he was going to get from her at the moment about that time in her life.
"But it's not as simple as just metal..." The teen explained, glancing over at him. "It's all the things that I can never do because of the way I am."
"Anyways." This conversation was going down a path that she wasn't quite comfortable with at this time, so she decided to change the subject. However, she couldn't find something to change it to, and simply fell silent.

"Yeah, anyway...." he said, leaping onto the opportunity to change the subject, but likewise having nowhere to take it. It was scary how fast things could be upended from how you were comfortable knowing them to suddenly being very different and weird.
"So, are we gonna tell anybody?" he asked, at last. "....or is this something you just want to keep between us?" It wasn't like he had any plans to wear a pin on his jacket reading "I GOT LAID" on it or anything, but if it was something they weren't supposed to talk about, now would be the time to say so.

Thankful for the topic change, even if it did move to an awkward topic. It was a -less- awkward topic.
"I don't know..." She started, treading the topic carefully. "We could see how it went first, but I would understand if you didn't want to, though." Inwardly, she hoped that he wasn't looking for an out, because then their living arrangement would be weird, to say the least. Not to mention her ego would take another blow.
Hey, at least she had a therapist on call. Just in case.

See how it went? He did a double-take at that. The way she was talking, she made it sound like this wasn't going to be the awkward one-time deal he'd already pegged it for. People did weird things when they were pissed beyond the point of reasoning, after all...
Some of them took a baseball bat to their boyfriends' cars, some went out and shot up subway stations, and then....well, then there was them.
Bottom line being, when sanity returned, most people didn't want to dwell on such things as being their proudest moments. And he was not, by any means, what he would call ANYONE'S proudest moment.
"Its....not that I don't want to, its....er..." he faltered, finally daring to meet her eyes again. "....do YOU want to?" he asked, making sure they were on the same page here.

Proudest moment or not, it had turned her world upside down in more ways than just the literal sense. She thought for a moment, meeting his eyes in a perplexed gaze.
"Why wouldn't I?"
The teen dared to watch him as she answered, curiosity getting the best of of her in the end. If things were to end badly, at least let her view the full glory of her emotional scarring.
Better yet, why not take a chance?
Carefully, she untangled her limbs and crawled over next to him, placing herself in the nook of his side she had earlier familiarized herself with. Inhaling, she hooked an arm around his waist and pulled them closer.

"Well, because..." he'd started to say, though the thought derailed as she pulled him close again. Without the haze of anger and furious impulses guiding his every move, usual awkward feelings began to settle in.
....though at least this time they weren't driving him to panic. After what they'd just been through, he felt that particular window had slammed itself shut.
"Because..." he tried to say again as they settled against one another, finding the thought, again, brushing just out of his mind's grasp. ....maybe he'd just give up trying to argue for the moment.

"We could do this," she finally admitted from the safety of his chest, not finding herself confident enough to look him in the eyes when she said that. Still, she feared rejection. While her feelings weren't certain or sorted properly, Tourma did very much like the concept of the Happily Ever After.
Not that she expected it, but what good would it be not to try?
Lifting her head slightly, she lightly brushed her lips against the side of his neck simply because she felt like doing it. "What do you think?" she asked in a whisper, eyes closing as she relaxed against him once more, careful not put too much weight on him.

What did he think? Well, at the moment he thought he might just go crazy if she kept doing that. Thankfully, she settled herself, giving him enough of a respite to rattle some brain cells together.
"Sure." he heard himself say, in a voice that was a little tighter than he would have liked before he cleared his throat to try again. "Sure, okay." he said, draping an arm around her.

Nothing said romance like 'Sure.'
Not that the two of them were anything near romantic, but still, how much could a simple 'Yes' hurt the foxcoon? Apparently lots.
"Thank you, Mr. Romance," she drawled lazily.
Meanwhile, her tail, which often had a mind of its own, curled around her thigh and waist, the tip resting lazily on his hip. Every so often, it'd flick, slowly snaking it's way under his tshirt. All with innocent motives, of course.
If she knew anything about Operation Tail, her peaceful and ignorant face betrayed none of it.

His own tail flicked against the bedcovers as she spoke. "What, you want me to get on one knee and say it?" he asked, though his tone was playful. Like her, he really didn't know what he felt at the moment. He LIKED her, sure. As far as women went, if you ignored the episode from about an hour prior, she'd been pretty awesome.
....and right now she was being pretty awesome too. But that didn't mean you could really go from being housemates, to being tentative friends, to suddenly being in love all in the span of a week. He knew it, and he was pretty sure she knew it.
But then, she'd never said anything ABOUT love, had she? Sex and love were two different worlds entirely, each with their own playing field. He'd seen enough drama unfold from his friends' failed relationships online to know that trying to force one into the other never ended well. But sometimes, if you were lucky and gave things time, they crossed over into one another on their own.
....and then sometimes, even if you did everything right, things just fizzled out after awhile without blossoming into anything more and you both went your separate ways.
It was really too much to try and think about at present.
Tentatively, seeing how it felt, he leaned in and brushed a kiss over her forehead.
