(( Updated the first post with a more detailed description~ 83 ))

Oh great. It was a camper! Chef felt rather disappointed, since he could use an intern to taste-test this... "meal," if you could call it that.

He stomped over to the backdoor and wrenched it open, scowling. "Wut? Yew can say it right here. Ah'm listenin'." Hey, maybe this interruption would be a good thing! Since a watched pot never boils, and if he was trying to get the soup to cook... Well, if it burned it just added more flavor, right? Right.

Serena's ears folded back at his harsh tone. When he came to the door she looked up at him, those blue eyes showing a deep sincerity. "I'm sorry to bother you Chef but I wanted to talk to you about... something." She looked away. How could she talk to him if she had no courage for this?! Shaking her head she looked back up at him, "Chef, I wanted to say, first of all, thank you for providing us with meals. I appreciate it. Secondly, I wanted to know..." She thought for a moment how to word this, "Do you like brownies, Chef?" What a strange way to approach this. However it was a guess how to address this.

(( The truth of yesterday's meal COMES INTO LIIIIIGHT 8D ))

Her words actually gave him paws. She... she appreciated his meals?! This was, this was -- wait. Chef flicked his ears, wondering exactly what she was up to. Then it clicked.

"From time to time," he replied, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "Y'know, there was a camper who brought some brownies... 's was a shame, really -- the interns went wild and snatched'em up as soon as they caught wind of'em. Why d'ya ask?"

Okay, so the "interns" were really just Chef and Chris, but they were really good. Not to mention without audionip, as THAT surprised Chef. Kids these days...

Serena smiled brightly, "I'm glad to hear the interns were able to enjoy them as much as Chris said he did. You see Chef," She looked down. How could she explain. "I feel bad with how upset Chris looked after he was pulled over the cliff. And I also feel bad it sounds like you didn't get to have any either so.. I was wondering," Blue eyes turned back to him, big and begging, "Would you mind helping me make some more brownies please? I know I'm not supposed to, but I feel bad that no one else seemed to get any and how upset Chris looked. He said he liked them, so I thought maybe it would cheer him up." She looked at the ground, feeling kind of silly for asking but she had to try at least. "I know, I should enjoy it but I don't like to see anyone upset. Would you please help me Chef?"

Goddamn campers and their audio eyes! They weren't as bad as when Chris looked at him like that, but... C'mon Chef, hold it together!

"Heh, ah don't," he replied, more to himself. He grinned at the memory of seeing Chris get a taste of his own medicine. HA! Oh man, that moment was priceless -- he'd have to stop by the editing room and make a copy of it before Chris deleted it, unless the editing room boys could show it to the producers fast enough to keep it.

When she asked to use his kitchen, Chef shook his head in negative. "No. The only time you campers can use mah kitchen is if there's a cookin' challenge. Especially since someone already broke in here and left a mess for me to clean up, not to mention puttin' me short for tomorrow's meal plan." He growled at this last bit. "Ah swear, when ah find them..."

Serena sighed, "I know I shouldn't but I hate to see anyone upset. I would want to cheer you up too if I saw you upset, even though this is my firs time talking to you.." She really had a good heart in there. When he growled, she had tears weld up in those blue eyes, "I'm sorry Chef that was me. I didn't realize I was breaking in, since I was told you liked when campers cooked for themselves. I did try to be fast, and tried to clean up after myself but.." She held up her paws to show him the burnt, dark red pads, "I got hurt and couldn't do anymore. I'm really sorry I upset you Chef." She put her paws down and bowed her head, closing her eyes, "If you want, I'll make up for it by coming everyday after challenges, or during free days and clean up this kitchen for you. I'm really sorry."

Oh man, now there were tears! Chef felt his guiltmeter go up, but he would have to stand fi-

His cellphone rang. Chef muttered darkly and answered it. "Hello? Yeah. Wh--" He turned, glaring at a camera mounted on the ceiling. "Grrrrr. Fine! Fine! Hmph. I outta..." He turned his phone off and shoved it back into his pocket. "Fine!" He repeated, moving out of the doorway. "Chris said yew can come in and bake yer brownies, and--" wait.

The large audio studied the girl again. It was her that broke in and made the mess? Frankly, he wouldn't have thought she'd have the guts to do it. But then again, there was that nice offer of cleaning up...

"Aight, two conditions," Chef growled. "The first: yew call me Master Chief. Second, yew report to me immediately after meals. Do ah make mahself clear? And c'mere." He beckoned her into the kitchens, whereupon he went to a cabinet and bought out a first-aid kit. "Lemme see yer paws now."

When he said fine, her blue eyes snapped open to look up at him in surprise. Hearing the two conditions, she smiled brightly, "Yes, Master Chief!" She saluted him with deep sincerity. It was funny, despite the remaining tears, she had the brightest smile knowing she could make things right, without anything happening to her team for her actions. He had no idea how happy she really was, except for her wagging tail. When he summoned her to come in she was walking behind him curious as at the kit. She showed them to him and sighed, "Sorry to be trouble. I did make some aloe to put on them, but with the challenges, and many of my team mates getting hurt, I haven't had the time to really rest them up." She smiled at him, "Thank you Master Chief." She really was nothing more then a sweet girl... to the eye.

((*DIES laughing* you HAVE to love those peoples watching! First Chris now Chef, they really love the staff don't they?))

(( You'd be surprised. 8D ))

Chef muttered something under his breath regarding nurses, pink, and killer heels. Whaaatever. He sprayed Serene's paws with a disinfectant, then wrapped them with gauze. "Until those heal, don't cook with'em you hear? Use gloves or something jus' not the ones used to wash dishes if you have to. If ah catch yew tryin' to make off with somethin, I'll toss yew off the cliff mahself. In the meantime, yew can busy yourself unloadin' the dishwasher and stackin the plates for dinner."

Her eyes blinked at his mutterings. She growled at the spray a bit. "Thanks Master Chief. I understand. When these heal up can I make brownies for you, and everyone else if there are extra supplies? I really want everyone to have a taste and since the interns already got some, I guess they wouldn't need more." She was already to work stacking the plates for dinner. She was going to no longer be allowed to sleep in it seemed since she had to be there after every meal to clean up.

Chef packed the first-aid kit away and stashed it back into the cabinet, offering a shrug to her turned back. "Mm-hmm. Otherwise yew can go ahead and help cook yo' fellow camper's food until then." Food license? Psh! As if he needed one of those.

...oh, wait. Oops. 8D

Serena beamed. "Thank you Master Chief! I promise to work very hard!" If it wasn't for the fact that she was still disturbed slightly by the puppet show she would have ran over and hugged him. Instead, her tail just wagged as she worked.

Day 4:

When Serena had come and gone, cleaning off the breakfast hour's dishes, Chef was left in his kitchen musing. Lunch wouldn't be for awhile yet, and since it was fish sticks... Well, there wasn't any rush on his part. All he had to do was just throw those suckers into the oven, and BAM! Lunch was ready.

He looked around his kitchen, shrugged, and walked out the back door, heading to the main staff area. Hopefully the interns in the editing room still had that clip of Chris taking a dive, heh heh...

Today was the day. Ratchet wanted in that kitchen. Even if she already had her tools back, she still wanted to do something to it. Poking her head around the door, she looked and saw... nothing. There was nobody in there. Grinning evilly, she stepped in on tip-paw and examined her surroundings. Everything was so high up... uh-oh. Ratchet headed back out of the kitchen for a chair from the dining hall.

Armed with a chair to reach the high shelves and cabinets, Ratchet took a better look at the kitchen. While she'd thought to attempt to cause a breakdown, maybe get better, imported food for a few days, She couldn't destroy what was already broken! This place was, in her eyes, a dump! Sure, the fridge was nice, but that fryer hadn't been new a decade ago, and the ovens were the perfect breeding ground for all kinds of nasty rust! Probably even lead paint on there! The sink was drippy, with a white crusty buildup from hard water, and she hadn't even looked at the pipes yet. And the floor... well... that was just atrocious. Rolling up her sleeves, she began to plan. She'd need to find some floor wax; perhaps that would be in a cabinet. Hm. Most of them were locked... but that was no problem for somebody as handy with tools as she was. And... a broom. That'd be nice. Some vinegar, or something else to kill off the semisentient mold she spotted crawling in the corner, and some cans and a can opener for her own personal use. And whatever else she could find that could be of use with this, her latest project. No, she couldn't break this kitchen. It didn't need to be any more broken than it already was.

It needed...

fixed.
