Tenkyuu assures Setsushi that it will be fine--the Flying Spear is merely searching for her place, as he seems to understand. Of course, her helpful words fade away at the rebellion of youth. Tenkyuu watches as Setsushi flees from her, but at least Ryoua, thankfully, holds some filial piety.
Tenkyuu privately informs Setsushi that he will be made to pay for his insubordination while, in the same breath, openly commenting on how happy she is to see Ryoua--she was worried he would not make it. Tenkyuu smiles warmly at her two sons as she turns to eye Tsubei and then Kouyo. Tenkyuu laughs faintly before moving towards Xiao Hai, her form brushing faintly against Tsubei as she whispers.
"Youth is indeed wonderful, no?" murmurs Tenkyuu before she happens upon Agent Xiao Hui and his fellow spies. While Agents One through Three might not be up for the challenge, Tenkyuu must certainly is--that is, if Agent Xiao Hui will have her? She cranes her neck downwards, waiting for his command.

Ryoua returns his mother's warm smile. He is always glad for the opportunity to meet more Porcelain who have found themselves in this place. And, naturally, to visit her. His dearest mother is well, he hopes? He's brought some bread he made -- in a moment he will go and bring some to her so that she may try. He's not expert yet, but he feels these latest attempts came out fairly well.
The young man turns to one of the few familiar faces in the little circle assembled there. Ah, Miss Tsubei is too kind. She must be an accomplished seamstress, then! Ryoua himself can only do a few things: replacing a button or mending a seam, perhaps, but nothing much beyond that. He is sure that Mother will look quite grand if Miss decides to make new robes for her. Upon Tsubei's call to her friend, he turns his head to look in the direction of her gaze.
Yousei waves back at Tsubei and projects that she had no idea there was a party going on! surprised She'll be right there -- she just needs to ask Setsushi about something. Just then, she catches the High Priest's eye (and greeting) and smiles sheepishly. Ah, she realizes, so Setsushi must be inside. She threads her way around the people and tables, not far behind Kouyo.
Her expression changes into a puzzled frown, though, as she notes the slight tremor in his hands. If it were anyone else she might ask if he were okay... She gives a little shake of her head. No, she thinks privately, that's not fair. Just because she feels a little strange around someone is no excuse not to see if they are all right.

Reiga walks towards the udon-ya with a deliberate pace, adjusting his hair slightly and straightening his robe. This was the first time he had seen most of the other Porcelain since his arrival and he found himself mildly nervous, a rather uncomfortable sensation.
He glances around him for a brief moment, taking confidence from the presence of his family. With a deep breath, the merchant prepares himself and, with a beaming smile and gleam in his eyes, quickens his pace towards the lights and smells of food. He hopes Setsushi is a good cook...

Uki trails a few feet behind her father, peeking at the other Porcelain as the udon-ya comes into view. There were not all that many of them, she supposed. The girl glances up towards her Daddy, smiling for a moment. It would be fine. Just have to stay calm.
She scanned the gathering again, looking to see if there was anyone her age. Or even better: someone between her age and the adults. Young enough that she didn't have to worry about embarrasing herself, old enough that they would be a bit more serious. Not that she didn't like kids, she mentally added as she looked at her little sister for a moment. They were just so...so...something.

Ako chatters away excitedly (mostly at her mother) as she twists around in Chourou's arms to try to get a better look at the setup for the party. She recognizes Dame Tenkyuu but not really anyone else.... This troubles her somewhat, but most of Ako's thoughts are taken up by the idea that this is going to be fun because it is a party. She can already smell the food~ 4laugh
Holding onto her squirming daughter, Chourou walks along beside Reiga... though far enough away so that the tiny girl's fingers cannot reach his hair no matter how hard she tries. As they get closer to Setsushi's house, the Knight finally sets the girl down on her feet and bids her to go greet the others, then projects a polite general greeting to announce her family's arrival.
... She hopes they are not all too late in arriving sweatdrop
At being released so near to everyone else, Ako boggles a moment and then attaches herself to Chourou's leg. But she still peers in wonder at everyone else, and lets go of her mother's pant leg to wave a little before sticking her fingers into her mouth and just grinning around them.

The merchant smiles back at Uki. Yes, everything would be fine. He reassures her that she will find someone to talk to here. She is a very smart girl, and could surely make conversation with any of the children or adults. 3nodding
Reiga watches Chourou put Ako down, and is thankful the little one didn't manage to get a hold of his hair, or clothes, during their walk over... but enough worrying, this is a party, after all! They have arrived and that is what's important.
Now then, who to flirt, er, mingle with first? cool

And in response to Chourou's greeting, Setsushi appears on the doorstep, waddling down carefully while carrying a large pot of rice. Once safely on the earth, he looks around and nods his head to Dame Chourou, Master Reiga, Uki, and little Ako, at whom he peeps over the top of the pot, as well -- sending them feelings of extravagantly humble greeting and deep flattery at their kind gracing of his little dinner -- exaggerated politeness to make up for his inability to bow to them correctly.
"Due to my incompetence, I am not quite finished preparing..." he admits. "But you may sit and begin on what has already been finished whenever you like."

Glancing up to look for another guest, Yaruka turned her attentions to the approaching Yousei and a familiar family. Placing a warm smile on her face, she joined the others in greeting them. She watched then arrive as she stood back a bit so she didn't crowed the others with her wings or her general presence. She did notice Setsushi struggling a bit, though.
"Would you like me to take the rice so you can properly tend to your guests?" She offered gently, wanting to make it a little easier for him.
Ren'i looked to Xiao Huo and frowned a bit, wondering what he could do to make him feel better. He saw Tenkyuu attempting to help him up, which was more than he could do in way of physical strength, and thought about what he could say.
Xiao Huo needn't worry. Special Agent Music Man(that's Ren'i) is here to help make sure no enemy agents will infiltrate the party and blow his cover. He projected to the young boy as privately as he could manage, on whispered tones as he sent him a wink and a secretive smile.
His attention was drawn away, however, when he saw more Porcelain approaching......and with not one, but TWO girls. One of them looked about his age and the other was still a baby. To this, he wasn't sure what to think. He supposed he should put on his best manners, of course.
Tsubei smiled when her friend came over, glad to have another familiar face amongst the growing crowd. She's taken a bit offguard by Tenkyuu brushing so near and whispering words to her that Tsubei often thought about in recent times. It made her think a bit. She had relived youth not once, but twice....and only during her second time living it did she learn to appreciate it and her coming adulthood more.
Yes, it is. Tsubei should count herself lucky that she had a chance to do it over. She projected privately to Tenkyuu, a smile on her face that is both somewhat sad and remeniscent, yet grateful....perhaps close to something Tenkyuu herself has expressed before.
"One always starts with small steps before they make their way up a grand staircase." She spoke to Ryoua with a smile, commenting on his spoken ability in sewing. Tsubei started with making repairs on a cloth doll Yaruka made for her, then learned to do more as time went by. Time and experience are the best teachers.
Tsubei turned her attention to the approaching family, smiling and sending them warm greetings. She looked up at the youngest girl with a rather bright smile, sending her warm and comforting feelings so she didn't feel too nervous around all of the people.
Unsou continued to watch from her position between buildings, seeing the gathering of adults and children. Watching Setushi was a bit amusing, considering how apologetic he was and how hard he was working. Normally, she might have been snide about his overly servile nature......but today, she didn't feel so malicious.
If anything, his hard work was admirable. Yes, he was perhaps weaker in body and attitude, but he was strong in many other ways that Unsou felt she was lacking.....especially as of late. She would wait a few more moments......at least until he didn't have such a heavy object in his hands.

Uki nods and tugs gently at her clothes to straighten them, more in imitation of her father than any real need. She glances around for a moment before picking out the girl that had sent her greetings, sending a polite answer in her direction. The girl ponders possible actions for a moment before starting to walk over to the slightly older girl standing next to Ryoua.
It IS ok if she joins them for a moment, yes? Uki projects as she steps over to them, ducking her head slightly before smiling shyly at the older Porcelain.
Uki projects a personal greeting to the teenaged boy. Could she perhaps beg an introduction to the other girl? she adds to the (slightly) more familiar Ryoua, attempting to keep her hands from twitching to smooth her clothes in nervousness.

And Tsubei's comment is what garners a curious look from Tenkyuu. As she waits for Xiao Huo's reply, she asks what Tsubei might mean about experiencing her youth once again?
The curiosity is by no means enough to stop her from smiling when Reni' offers help to Xiao Huo. Her eyes flit to the youth as she nods faintly before returning to the Secret Agent: It looks like Xiao Huo has gained many allies today. If Setsushi wasn't so busy taking care of everyone, she is most sure that he would rush to their aid as well.
Her eyes move to Setsushi as she gingerly sets the plate on a table--what can she do for him she privately asks? He's worked very hard for them, and Tenkyuu cannot, with good conscience, allow Setsushi to do all the work.
He might screw it up, after all, she privately reminds him.
Tenkyuu's attention, already turn in a dozen directions, soon settles on Ako who introduces herself. Tenkyuu's smile widens obviously, the old woman obviously gaga over the toddler. Tenkyuu privately tells Ako it is so good to see her, and she is most certainly very pretty today. As if forgetting any propriety, Tenkyuu wiggles her fingers faintly at the child.

(( Hope it's okay if I quote the posts I'm replying to, just so I can be more sure that I'm not getting confused. If I miss anyone important, kick me or something and I can edit sweatdrop )) Lynod "Youth is indeed wonderful, no?" murmurs Tenkyuu before she happens upon Agent Xiao Hui and his fellow spies. While Agents One through Three might not be up for the challenge, Tenkyuu must certainly is--that is, if Agent Xiao Hui will have her? She cranes her neck downwards, waiting for his command. To this, he wasn't sure what to think. He supposed he should put on his best manners, of course. Xiao Huo sets his dolls on the chair, backs up a few steps, then sort of run-hops at the piece of furniture and grabs onto the seat. The chair wobbles away when the boy lands against it... then towards... and Xiao Huo finds himself standing on the ground holding the chair.
When Heavenly Bow offers him aid, he projects momenatry uncertainty - she is still kind of a stranger, even if she has shared her secret codename with him - but then nods and raises his arms. Up? Please?
Then he looks past her to Special Agent Music Man. And wonders if he can blink one eye like that, too. Xiao Huo makes his best attempt at a reply wink, along with a more successful smile, and waves to him.Setsushi ... Well, Setsushi was hoping to finish preparing these dishes, but...
Setsushi supposes Kouyo wasn't there for that part of the conversation with Akram. The human said that he was in possession of a large cabbage and was not sure what to do with it; Setsushi could have used a nice big cabbage for tonight's meal...
... ... ... In any case, he thinks he hears the arrival of Dame Chourou's family outside, so perhaps they will go with Kouyo's suggestion after all. Hefting the pot of rice -- it is not that heavy, but a little inconvenient to carry -- Setsushi indicates the scooper, and heads back outside. The priest grabs the rice paddle and follows Setsushi back outside, pleased at being helpful... but still a bit confused about the cabbage. How could someone end up with a cabbage and not be sure what to do with it? Had it been a gift, perhaps? ... Ah it does not really matter, he supposes.
Closing his eyes, he smiles and quietly greets Chourou and her family, then slips into silence as he reaches for the nearest rice dishes and starts working on filling them from the big pot of rice.Setsushi And in response to Chourou's greeting, Setsushi appears on the doorstep, waddling down carefully while carrying a large pot of rice.
"But you may sit and begin on what has already been finished whenever you like." The Knight of Bukoku smiles, warmly informing Setsushi that he appears to have prepared enough food to feed all present at least twice over. If there are other things he must tend to, though, Chourou can take the rice pot for him and help little bird Kouyo finish serving that?
She glances back briefly at Uki, then at her husband, and seems content to let them both socialize on their own. Probably do not want her following them around anyway.... But yes, she can accompany the High Priest with the rice if Setsushi wants to take care of other things in the mean while?Lynod Tenkyuu's attention, already turn in a dozen directions, soon settles on Ako who introduces herself. As if forgetting any propriety, Tenkyuu wiggles her fingers faintly at the child. Little feelings of recognition mingled with awe drift towards the retired Knight from the tiny girl, and Ako takes her hand out of her mouth, (wipes her fingers on her tunic) then waves back to Tenkyuu.
... Everything smells so good! She wonders at Tenkyuu what all is on the table that smells so yummy. Then abruptly realizes that her mother has moved, and toddles forward to grasp at Chourou's pant leg again.

Setsushi looks between Yaruka and Chourou, pulling the pot of rice a little closer to his body as if protecting it from their grasping hands. "Please, allow me," he insists, reminding them, humbly but also a little playfully, that he invited them here as guests; they had better not try to usurp him as host...
... ... ... on the other hand he still has many dishes to finish garnishing, and so perhaps it would be good to put this cumbersome thing down somewhere. sweatdrop

Reiga chuckles warmly at all the commotion, smoothly and swiftly bringing out the fan Miss Meirou and Miss Kanna gave him for his birthday. He wonders where they are, idly fanning himself a little as he surveys the area. Many people, good good. Many new faces. Hm.
Grinning at Uki trying to be sociable, and at his wife's generosity to help their apparently overwhelmed host, Reiga begins to wander a bit, looking at the dishes and getting a better feel for who was here and who he might enjoy a conversation with. His charming smile is ever present, as the charismatic merchant seems to exude an aura of warmth.
"Setsushi, the food smells delicious," Reiga cheerfully informs his host, as he lingers over a platter of fish, "but may I humbly suggest," accented with a little bow of the head, "that you take advantage of your guests' generosity, as you have so much to do... especially before you drop something," he jokes.
