Joshua shrugged, and rolled his eyes. This is what he got for trying to help adults. "I don't see what's so bad about going to see a meteor shower with a friend." He said. "Aren't dates for you to get to know someone better?"
Risa only shook her head at Nataya. "Nothing's wrong." She said with a false smile. She was good at that, pretending to be happy. "Some smoke got into my eyes, and I guess my eyes are sensitive. "

Matthias took a deep breath, keeping himself from snapping. "I said I would think about it, did I not?" he said, his tone calm. "Pressing the question will not help in the least, so let it be." Right now, he was half-tempted to go sit by Stasia; she wouldn't bother him with this, would she?
"Oh." Nataya said, smiling a little. She didn't notice the lie because, in her view, why would an adult lie about that. "Well, I hope your eyes get to feeling better...we have some eye drops in the house if you need any."

Joshua sighed, he didn't know what else to say. In his opinion, adults were complete idiots about love. "But you meant no when you said it." The boy pointed out, before going to sit by Stasia. "Nattie's Mom? Are all adults so stupid when it comes to love?" He whispered. If they were, he hoped he never became one!
Risa smiled, though she felt guilty for lying to a little girl. She took another marshmellow, and this time she only roasted it until it was golden. She plucked it off her prong and ate the gooey thing with relish.

Stasia chuckled, shaking her head. "No...just the really dense or really old ones." she said, making a jab at Matthias' age. "Don't worry; I'll bug him about." she whispered, chuckling. Oh yes, she DEFINITELY planned on interfering; it was too amusing an opportunity to pass up.
Nataya blinked at the lack of response, taking her seat again. It usually wasn't good when the adults got quiet like that, but Risa had said she was fine. She went back to making smores, trying to get her mind off the subject.

Joshua was relieved. "Okay. I'll try to cheer Risa up. I feel bad, because I'm the one who made her come." He frowned slightly. He regretted dragging her here, and suggesting a date with Matth. He had thought it would work out. He'd thought his mother's plan would work. It hadn't.
Risa finished off her second marshmellow. These were good! She'd never had them before, she she liked them.

Stasia blinked. "Why'd you make her come?" she asked, curious. She knew their had to be something going down, and naturally, she wanted to know about it.
Nataya was done with snacking; now she was busy watching the fire as it reached up with orange tendrils towards the sky. She rubbed her arms a bit; as the sun disappeared beyond the horizon, it took the warmth from the air with it. She held her hands out, careful not to touch the flames as she warmed herself.

Joshua gave her a smile, before saying, "Well, it was Mom's idea really. See, Risa's had a.. well, kinda like a crush on Mr. Matth since Zemel, Ginger and I got lost at the mall." That trip didn't need to be explained. "And we thought.. well, maybe Matth would like her too." He shrugged. "Apparently not, though."
Risa was getting tired of marshmellows by now, she had just finished her fourth. They left a strange after taste, after eating one or two.

Stasia nodded once, listening as the gears in her head started talking. She leaned closer to the kid, whispering. "Look, kiddo...I'll see what I can do about pixie boy over there, 'kay?" she said, smiling lightly. This would give her a perfect excuse to annoy Matthias; one of her favorite pastimes.
Nataya went to get a marshmallow...and realized the bag was a lot emptier than she'd expected. She looked to the twins, but they were too busy talking to have eaten them. She'd have to go inside soon to get another bag. Darn. Just when she was starting to get warm again, she'd have to move away to grab another one of the bags off the table.

Joshua smiled, pleased with the response. "Thanks." He said, standing up and moving so he could easily talk to Nattie.
"Hey Nattie. Um. I got you this, I forgot to give it to you earlier. When Vinny and I went to the mall a couple days back, it seemed to suit you, so.." He pulled out a necklace, and handed it to her. The charm was a purple plum, with a green emerald as the leaf. "I hope you like it." He tried to stop blushing, and failed.

Nataya blinked as she was handed the necklace, She looked at it, then offered Josh one of her bright smiles. "Thank you, Josh!" she said, her grin spreading just a wee bit wider. "I really like it; it's pretty." She went to put in on, fighting against her hair for a moment before getting the latch. She then blinked, tilting her head to the side. "Josh, are you alright?" she asked, vaguely concerned. His face looked a bit red; was he getting sick or something?

Joshua nodded. "I'm fine." He said, looking at his feet. At least he'd been able to stop blushing. "I'm glad you like it." He said, able to look up at her. "It looks really pretty on you." He knew it would, anything would, really..
"Um. Want a hotdog?" He asked, with a quick change of subjects.

"Alright, then." Nataya said, nodding once as she stood up. He wasn't blushing anymore, so maybe it was just a momentary thing? Who knows? She smiled brightly at him, shifting her weight to her heels, leaning forward a bit. "Thank you!" she said, giggling once. What a nice compliment! She then shook her head. "No thanks, I'm full already. But, you can have one if you want."

Joshua smiled, he was so pleased that Nattie liked it that his stomach started to flutter--as if there were butterflies inside it. He made a signal to Stasia. Now was the time for her to talk to Matth. "I'm not really hungry either." He said.
Risa was bored. She was ready to go home. She didn't want to spoil it for Josh, though, and this made it hard. Argh. Children. She'd have to get him back for this.

Why would he mention eating if he wasn't hungry? "Oh, well, okay." she said, taking her seat again. She blinked as he made a motion towards her mother; what on Gaia was he doing?
Stasia just shook her head. She'd bug him later. Besides, she was a bit busy at the moment; Ginger and Zemel were getting tired and she was currently being used a pillow.

Risa was getting tired. She was more of a day person, really. She tried to hide a yawn behind her hand, but it didn't go unnoticed by Joshua. He nodded at her, and looked at Nattie.
"I think it's time for us to go." He said. "Thanks for inviting us, I really had fun." He couldn't say the same for Risa, though. He waved to Stasia and Matthias before leading Risa to the car.
