As they walked, Caelan attempted to commit everything he saw to memory. He knew in a few hours most of it would become a blur, but he still decided to try. Surprisingly, Caelan found quite a bit to see, no matter how small and insignificant it might seem.
Koumori stopped in front of him and Caelan glanced ahead to see the edge of a steep cliff in front of him. As Koumori and mentioned earlier, it was made of a black stone that Caelan clearly wasn't familiar with. Caelan remained behind Koumori, but close enough to the cliff to see a small stream flowing over the cliff and creating tiny waterfalls that connected small pools of water until reaching the bottom.
Caelan glanced at Koumori. The older fox seemed deep in thought, though Caelan didn't know what about. After a few moments more, the elder-to-be seemed to regain himself and return to the present. At Koumori's question, Caelan nodded. He glanced first left, then right along the cliff's edge before looking back at Koumori. "It's up to you which way we go," Caelan said. Caelan then looked over the cliff edge again. Moving forward slightly allowed Caelan to see the path down the cliff. "I suppose going down there is always an option," he suggested.

Koumori nodded with a chuckle and began descending the cliff. He didn't even seem bothered by loose rocks and such. Why would he need to be? He stepped from rock to rock quickly, the deft motion of his nimble paws enabling him to travel at such speeds down what would be quite a dangerous climb for your average fox. He never stayed in one place long enough for the rocks to loosen. It seemed like the rocks did not even notice the pressure of his weight, as if his lithe form was some sort of a ghost. Even if he did fall he would not die. He was a vampire after all...
He promptly reached the bottom of the cliff, looking back up at Caelan. He smiled a toothy grin, which could have been seen to be a challenge, depending on how one looked at it. As he waited for Caelan to reach him, he turned his gaze to the pools and began counting them. It was odd, for the first pool closest to the top of the cliff was smallest and the pools grew bigger as they traveled down the cliff with the last one being the largest. He counted six pools in all and tilted his head ever so slightly to to the side. The falls were beautiful, and he found it strange how they were so quiet. Was this land the Home of the Dead or something?

Caelan remained near the top of the cliff while he watched Koumori move down the path as gracefully as only a vampire could. The other fox reached the bottom and Caelan only raised an eyebrow in response to his grin. He then returned his attention to the path. Koumori was no help in showing Caelan which rocks were not secure, since he barely touched them. Caelan knew he couldn't traverse the path as quickly and weightlessly as his companion, but he thought it would be best to attempt.
With a short, mental countdown, Caelan ran down the path as quickly as possible. Unlike with Koumori, Caelan's weight did move around a few rocks. Thankfully, there were no major landslides and nothing that would kill or fatally wound Caelan. Soon enough, he reached his companion at the bottom of the cliff. He turned to look behind him. The path was still in good enough shape, as long as others taking it were careful. It seemed it would last the tribe quite a while. Caelan glanced at Koumori, who seemed to be watching the waterfalls. He tilted his head slightly to examine them as well. "They are beautiful," he admitted to the older fox, nodding his head slightly.

Koumori snickered a bit when Caelan found his own way down the rock. When he finally came to he side, he shook his head. "You don't need to sprint down the path like I did." He said with a laugh. "I have just had to grow accustomed to climbing down paths as quickly as possible, so I guess that was out of the force of habit..." The vampire's voice trailed off. The setting was indeed different, but he did get a sense of deja vu. Running away from the normal foxes, running for his life, ducking into random caves, sprinting down cliffsides, having to jump into places which would be like comitting suicide if it wasn't for his asset... Or curse. All these things of the past to avoid the atrocities of the normal foxes, such as the one that killed his parents... He sighed, his gaze falling to his paws. He did not believe these foxes he had met, Jasper, Alterio, and Caelan, would do that. He did not have to worry about Aido, for he was a vampire as well... A slightly strange one, but a vampire nonetheless.
Perhaps not all foxes were all that bad. Maybe it was a thing of the past. Who knows?
Koumori's attention finally returned to Caelan and he smiled once again. His gaze shifted to the pools. "I couldn't agree more," he replied with a nod of his head. He approached the biggest one at the bottom, looking back at Calean a few moments later. He gestured for him to come over with a wave of his bushy tail. "You can't tell me you're not thirsty." Koumori himself was not thirsty... Leastways not for water. He chuckled with the thought.

Caelan jokingly glared at Koumori. "You made it seem possibly unstable..." he muttered angrily. Caelan soon got over it, though, and looked around. Unsurprisingly, the view was different on the ground, and Caelan eagerly took in all that he saw. A short glance at Koumori told him that the older fox was deep in thought again. Caelan didn't mind at the moment, but he did briefly wonder what kept his companion's mind so preoccupied.
Caelan didn't dwell for too long on the subject, as Koumori seemed to return from his thoughts. The older fox gestured him towards the pools. Caelan follwed, nodding in response to the other fox's question. Now that Koumori brought it up, Caelan noticed the dryness in his throat that could only be eased by cool, refreshing water. He probably hadn't noticed it before since they were exploring. Caelan moved up to the edge of the pool and looked into the clear water before him before leaning down and lapping some up.
Caelan finished, feeling better without it even registering that he had been thirsty in the first place. He looked back up then, and glanced back at Koumori. "That's some pretty good water," he informed the older fox with a smile.

Koumori chuckled, leaning over and lapping at the water to taste it for himself. The icy fluid ran easily down his throat, yet it wasn't nearly as satisfying as the warm, crimson decadence he lusted for. He lifted his head up from the water, his eyes rolling up to gaze at the sky. "It is," he replied, shrugging slightly. "Although, it's a shame I cannot appreciate as much as you do," he added with a smirk. Once again his fell to his reflection in the water. It was just about as black as everything else, but he assumed it was because the rocks were black.
He turned around, looking back at the male beside him. "I suppose we should continue along." He stated, continuing on.

Caelan glanced at Koumori as the older fox drank the water he had enioyed so much. He hadn't forgotten that the other fox was a vampire, but he supposed he never thought about the fact that all substances, liquid or otherwise, paled in comparison to the blood they craved. Caelan didn't bother to ponder it any more, since Koumori was moving along anyway. He simply nodded and followed his elder-to-be yet again.

He continued walking along, occasionally gazing over his shoulder to look at Caelan. He didn't exactly know why, but he enjoyed the company of normal foxes now. It was strange. He couldn't deny the fact that he was going to be sincerely missing his sister, Chi. He let out a sigh, gaze falling to the path he walked. He lost her, someone -the only one- he spent so many years with, and he lost her to some other male. He couldn't help but feel some distaste for Vincent, but he knew he couldn't do anything about it. He was just being envious that his little sister who he practically raised was with someone else now.
He turned and looked at Caelan. "I'm sorry I'm being so pensive lately."

Caelan noticed Koumori's backward glances, not thinking much of them. At his apology, the younger fox just shrugged. "It's alright. I get you have a lot on your mind. Care to share what you're thinking about?" He asked. "Not that I mean to pry, or anything." Caelan added that last part quickly. He wasn't really nosy, but he heard sometimes foxes like to just get things off their chests. Maybe that's what Koumori needed.

Koumori chuckled before letting out a heavy sigh. His gaze fell to his paws as they moved forward, carrying his form with them. "I'm just thinking about Chi's leave, is all. I mean..." Why this was so easy to think about but so difficult to let out was something that he didn't know. "I mean she isn't restrained or anything; she could do whatever she wants... I guess I was just really hopeful that she would stay here now that we finally have something going for us after years of running and hiding. I didn't expect her to find someone so quickly and go off with him, for I know he travels along and now he's got a traveling companion: my sister, who also is used to travel. I guess I'm just missing her... Like... You never know how much you love, need, whatever someone until he or she is gone.
"And sometimes, I feel like a father rather than a brother to her. I always had to be the responsible one, the one who tried his level best to keep her out of trouble, the one who listened to her ceaseless rants, and... well... I guess I just feel like I pretty much raised her. Our parents died when we were so little and I grew very independent... Little did I know my little sister was just as independent as I, probably staying with me out of pure pity..."

[Nice, I do enjoy alliterations XP]
Caelan listened quietly and undersandingly. "I doubt she stayed with you out of pity," he replied after a few moments of silence. "You could take care of yourselves, live seperately, never see each other, but why bother? You've had only each other for so long, it's only natural you would want to be together for as long as possible. Had you found a mate first, I'm sure Chi would be feeling the same way."

Koumouri pondered that statement for sometime. Maybe she would have, but there was a good chance that she wouldn't have as well. She may have stayed had it not been for Vincent, but that was not in his power. He knew he couldn't make decisions for Chi, at least not without getting his throat ripped out, and he knew she could. And she would if provoked, which was the scary thought.
He chuckled an empty laugh. "Thanks Caelan." The kid certainly did make coming to terms with things easier.

Caelan grinned, and with a shrug said, "Glad I could help." He wasn't sure if he did, really, but it was the best he could do. Maybe if he found his lonely comrade a mate... Caelan mentally shook his head and almost laughed. He didn't know a thing about vixens or mating in general. Matchmaking certainly wasn't an option. Besides Caelan only knew a few girls, his two mothers and Chi. None of them would work, and the thought made Caelan almost laugh.
