The saddest episodes is one of the first ones, when christopher comes back and they go to emily and richards house to have dinner w/ chris's parents. earlier lorelai had promised luke that she would come that friday to help him paint the diner during the night

they show luke standing outside in the snow, shivering, looking up and down the street for lorelai, and you can see that the diner is all ready to paint...oh man, major tear jerker...

My two saddest moments:

In "Say Something," season five, where Lorelai's dreaming. I will fill you in. She walks downstairs and somehow the kitchen turns into the BW&R theater. Luke is sitting on the couch. Lorelai asks him what he is watching, and he says, "Something stupid." It is a distorted version of their first date. Then movie Luke says the "all in" quote, and movie Lorelai does nothing. Lorelai whispers, "Say something." Then movie Luke leaves, and normal Lorelai sees that the Luke on the couch is just a blue ribbon and she yells, "Say something!" And she wakes up. I always cry at that part. I really cried the first time I say that episode, even though it was a re-run... But its just so depressing...

Then my other saddest is in "Jews and Chinese Food" when the "Do You Love Me?" song is playing and Lorelai is tearing up and Luke looks like he is all depressed... That girl had a really good voice for an elementary kid's voice.... just a side note.

When Rory breaks up with Jess right after graduation. crying

I teared up over half the scenes that you guys mentioned xD

One that really sent me crying was the episode where Rory and Lorelai always missed each other. Whenever somebody called, the other would be busy. Rory just found out that she should drop a class from Yale and that Lane had to leave, and Lorelai was so busy with the inn's opening (and financial problems) that she couldn't even get her hair done and was humiliated by her grandmother . . . I started bawling around the end of that episode where Rory is crying to Dean about her problems, and at the same time, Lorelai was crying to Luke.

I also got pretty teary on the episode where Rory gets drunk off Miss Patty's punch. She and Lorelai were in the bathroom, and Rory was crying and saying over and over "Why doesn't he like me?" (in reference to Logan). It probably shouldn't have been as sad as I thought it was, but I was going through similar problems when I saw that episode.

How about when Christopher explodes at Luke about how Lorelai and him are perfect together, and so on.

Oh yeah both those are my fave and also in the episode "Say something" (surprised no one mentioned this) when Lorelai is crying in bed to Rory, OMG Lauren Graham REALLY showed her acting skills in this episode. I get teary eyed every single time.

In the episode both episodes "Say goodbye to Daisy Miller" and "Raincoats and Recipies" When Rory is outside crying and Lorelai goes out to comfort her but she turns her away, I was like "Awww, so sweet and sad".

Also when Paul Anka gets sick and Lorelai is crying for him but refering to him as Rory.

There are so many but those are the only one's I can think of right now, all the one's you guys mentioned are great.

I agree with several others. To me one of the saddest moments is when Dean broke up with Rory at the dance-athon. I felt so bad for her.

i'd have to say when rori and loreli have that huge fight that lasts for so long! it was so sad to see thembe distant from each other because usually they tell each other everything!

the second saddest momment in my opinion was when rori asks logan's father how she was doing at her job and he totally berated her when she worked so hard and convinced her to give up her dream of becoming a jouirnalist!

When GiGi is born and Lorelai is standing by the nursery and says, she's perfect and it shows a flashback of Lorelai and Christopher looking at Rory.... that scene made me cry........

For me, the saddest moment was when she was talking to Jess outside after Logan acted like a jerk and he was saying that she wasn't being herself... that quitting school and living in her grandparents pool house wasn't who she was and then she left... that was so sad!
