"Whatever trouble it may be though... I will deal with it, with this bow." Sue told Isadora sincerely. "I won't let Father lose the only home he has to come back to."

Isadora nodded her head. "Rath isn't the only person whose home is here. It's everyone. Let's keep our guard up."

So far, there were no ruckus or trouble brewing in the basement. Knowing that the investigation would be over, Isadora decided to go upstairs to check on Mel. As she reached to the top of the stair, the paladin noticed Ephraim on the opposite end of the hallway, looking at the floor.

Curious, Isadora went to where Ephraim was. "What are you doing?"

The Scripts of Strategy

He'd sensed it.

It was a writing, contorting, regurgitating mass of ether that had disturbed the placidity of the night. Its surges had touched existence on their own side of The Door, sending off quiet, creeping ripples throughout the mansion. The incorporeal manifestation of an unspeakable entity seemed to have tainted those ripples with its very presence, and once those ripples broke upon his sleeping body, he twisted and violently recoiled.

Faint, dull thuds resounded from the attic floor. His long and unkempt hair shifted with his own movements, gathering up the dust that had lain so peacefully across the floorboards. His eyes reluctantly flickered open. Adjusted to the darkness he had sheltered within for so long, he saw every detail of every ancient item and every artifact stored in that attic. Thin slants of light provided faint sources of clarity, reflecting into his sight through his inhuman, peripheral vision.

Halfheartedly he tried to lift himself from the attic floor. His hair scattered over his face, casting shadow over a sickened expression. Thick and sharp nails grated over the wood for a startling moment, shaking him into momentary awareness. The fragments of a thought passed his mind as he delicately collapsed once more upon the ground: he hoped that none had heard him.

His eyes despondently explored the depressing area. He fancied that there were demons lying in wait, lying behind the corners and the obstructions, lying beyond his snug hiding spot, waiting for him to open his eyes again so they could tear his throat out or possess his heart or devour his soul. If he went back to sleep, then they would leave. That as reasonable.

Lost in his illusions, he quietly curled up on the dusty attic floor, protected by the darkness of isolation as the waves of a sinister arrival subsided.

"Apparantly staring at this note.." he commented, it was just there and out of the blue. He still didn't know what was going on aside from the fact that whoever the intruder was is capable of knocking out a Manakete, more or less, damaging them. Imagine what it could do to an actual human didn't want to cross the mind of the Prince. "Also, I swore I saw something move down this hallway but I guess its just my imagination.." He muttered. "Guess its nothing" Ephraim commented and turned, coming face to face with the paladin. "Shall we check-up on our friend?" he asked, gesturing her 'Ladies first'

(( I'm off to class, D: 45 min drive to class, tooootally not fun ^_^;;; Feel free to just leave him somewhere and I'll come back and read/post xD ))

"Of course..." Sue answered, not wanting to sound selfish. She fell silent... and worried that Ephriam suddenly was quiet. Fearing the worst, she commanded her steed to rush behind him. "Prince Ephriam, is everything.." She didn't get to finish her sentence before gasping, and staring right at the blood-written message. "Oh... Father Sky... Mother Earth..."

Isadora stared hard at the note before turning her attention to Ephraim. "Yes, let's check on Mel. In the meantime, we have to tell Nino and the others about this note. I don't like what this note is saying not what material it used."

As she and Ephraim turned around and headed to the bedroom, Isadora began to ponder. Although the note said that they were safe for now, it had also said that they were in danger too. She couldn't figure out what it meant by "one by one." Why taking one instead of attacking a group? Maybe whoever wrote it was not strong enough to attack. And could it be the same person who attacked Mel? If so, was that person in the house still?

Standing in front of the door, Isadora changed her mind. "You go and check on Mel. I need to check around the house. I doubt that whoever wrote it may be still in the house."

"There are pleaty of others watching over her." Sue answered. "I'll be joining your search, Isadora... we must get rid of this threat quickly."

It always seemed threats came around holidays... it wasn't right.

"Leave the note where it was. Even though it is written in blood and it's easy to clean it out, we need it as evidence. Besides, we're not sure whether it's rabbit blood as it said or it could be Mel's or someone else's blood."

Isadora went back to where the note was written. Everyone knew that you had to start investigating where the scene occurred. Not to mention that the criminal would go back to the scene of the crime.

"Let's look around this floor. Whoever wrote it must be upstairs. I don't think this intruder went downstairs when we were there before."

"That's a good idea." Sue nodded. "This way... we can hopefully snuff them out.."

The nomad trooper was really surprising herself. Usually, Rath was the stoic warrior who wanted to see peace return, even if the use of his bow was necessary. She found it odd she take his place, since she was so used to ever slightly smiling.

There wasn't any room for even that now though. No room for errors.

Isadora went to the nearest door on the left, her hand still onto the sword hilt. She opened the door and went in alarmingly. So far, the room was empty. Making sure that the room was clear, the paladin cautiously walked to the closet and checked inside. Nothing. She then looked under the beds to find nothing but dust.

Once the room was clear, Isadora exited to the next room.

Morph Synra

PostPosted: Wed Apr 01, 2009 3:43 pm

Soft footsteps echoed through the halls of the castle; the hooded figure stopped and lifted two slender hands to pull her cloak down, to expose her face.

"Hello...?" she called, nervous. It had been some time since the morph had been in this castle, and she wasn't sure if she could remember the layout. Was she even welcome? Synra cast her eyes down to the floor, doubt filling her.

"...Vika?"

No answer. Where was everyone? Her red boots met the floor again and again as she broke into a run, finally spotting a few people in a room. The morph stopped, her breath coming with more difficulty. That was happening much too often lately, and it worried her.

She repeated herself. "Hello?"

Tibarn thumped back up the stairs, his scarred face twisted into a scowl. "Nothing. Nobody's there. Look, just... you guys can take care of things, right?" He gave Isa a pained look for a moment. "I have... important stuff I need to do." The sound of an infant's loud cry of despair began to wind its way down from upstairs, and without waiting for an answer Tibarn cursed under his breath and took the stairs two at a time, rushing to Ayra's side to help comfort his new baby girl.

Sister Victoria

PostPosted: Wed Apr 01, 2009 3:45 pm

Victoria had never met Synra before. She joined shortly after the events of December, so she hadn't met any of the morphs the crew spoke of often face-to-face. "Hello. Who are you?" the bishop asked curiously. She had just finished healing the injured Manakete.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 01, 2009 3:46 pm

Sue all the while looked at Tibarn when he spoke. "No one? Are you sure? There certainly can't just be a note left by thin air though."

[Just to establish facts:

We are not in the castle. We are at Fefga's house. If it says castle, it's not where we are. >.>]
