Aislinn was thinking. She didn't want to think of a big number yet. She wanted to start off with little ones. That way by the time she called out a big number, it'd bring them right up to her. She was plotting as she tried to listen to their movements.
"It's three o'clock," she said just loud enough for them to hear. She heard a twig snap as Chailyn stepped on it, hurriedly taking the other two steps. Without giggling it was easier to hear their footsteps, the dry leaves providing a canvas for the two to paint their steps on. It gave her only a little information, their voices aiding her assumptions.
"What time is it, Ms. Wolf?" Chailyn asked giving a slight yawn. She secretly hoped that the cherub would reply "nap time" but she didn't have that luck. The older girls probably weren't tired at all and for the most part, probably wouldn't think or want to nap like the small tale.
It would probably be awhile until the tale got to sleep at all. She was only a little tired and would rub at her eyes every few moments. She gave a sigh waiting for her sister to reply.
"It's five o'clock," Aislinn stated snapping out of her thoughts. She was already uncertain of how much farther they had to come. She didn't think they were extremely far away, but enough that she'd have to call out a few more numbers.

The three girls continued playing, Chailyn and Vidya asking for the time and Aislinn replying. Finally, when lunch time was called, Vidya was unfortunate enough to be directly in Aislinn's path, and by the time she realized it, the cherub had already pounced on her.
The blue-skinned girl giggled, struggling to stay standing for the moment. "ACK! Okay! I guess that means I'm the---"
"Viddy! C'mon, its time to go home now~!" Someone called out to her. Looking around, the half-blind girl spotted Samira, the frail dog tahnee waving one arm above her head to catch her sibling's attention. Wings twitching, Vidya turned and looked appologetically at her two friends.
"Sorry...I guess I gotta go home. We'll play another time, yes?" She hugged the both of them happily, nuzzling them out of friendship. Then, with a wave to them and Anemone, The blue girl snatched up her bag and ran towards the dog that was sent to collect her.
"Byyyee! Thank you!" She waved, then disappeared around the corner.

Aislinn and Chailyn both gave subtle frowns, the toddler pouting softly as they waved good-bye to Vidya. They stood there for a moment before they walked over to their mother. She smiled at them giving a sympathetic look the two.
"Don't worry, you'll see Vidya soon. And if I know you, Chai, you'll want to go shopping to find her a present," Anemone said standing up and picking the toddler up. She shifted the girl in her arms pulling the bag onto her shoulder before taking hold of Aislinn's hand. "We should be getting home, too. Then you can tell me what you want to get Vidya," she added.
Chailyn beamed happily. Her mother knew her so well. "And I'll help," Aislinn chirped giving a smile. She'd love to help her little sister find the blue, angelic tale a gift to show how much they'd loved playing "What time is it, Ms. Wolf?" and everything else about her really.
The trio set off for home. They were going to have to figure out something special. Something just as special as what Chailyn had given Lance.
