Kaimi hung up the phone and headed back over to Jacen. "So, the good news is I'm off the hook for babysitting today. The bad news is that means no money which means it'll take me longer to save up for a fire-whip." Running a hand through her hair, she tilted her head to one side. "Where are you staying, anyways?"

Jacen frowned. "Staying?" He repeated. Well, he had been staying in Thali's backyard. "Um.. Well, I haven't been staying anywhere.." He confessed, looking embarassed. He was used to sleeping outside, but telling someone about it was a completely new experience.
"I'm sorry about the fire-whip. Will this help?" He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small clump of elven currency. "It's not very much though.."

"I..." She stared at the proferred money. "I can't take your money. And anyways, you'll need it if you're going to get a hotel or something." It didn't even occur to her that he'd been staying outside, Kaimi just automatically assumed that he'd just arrived and hadn't gotten a room yet. "And anyways, saving up for things makes having them more special." She gave the elf a grin.

Jacen looked confused. "What's a hotel?" He asked, with a tilt of his head. "I've never seen one before. I've actually been staying in Thali's back yard." He admited with a frown. It felt strange to admit that to someone he liked. He put the gold back into his pocket.

"In her backyard? Like in a tent?" Kaimi blinked a couple of times, taking this in. "A hotel is a place that rents out rooms by the night. It's where lots of people stay if they're away from home. Or.. were you planning on going home soon?" She wasn't sure what she wanted the answer to that to be. On the one hand, he was confusing and made her feel kind of fluttery in the stomach. On the other hand, he made her feel kind of fluttery in the stomach.

Jacen blinked. "What's a tent?" He asked, feeling rather stupid now. "Uh.. I don't even know my way home.." He confessed. Why, did she want him to leave? He wanted to be around her, but if she wasn't happy with that.. He'd try to find his way back to Lynwood.

Jacen shrugged. "I don't think elves do it much, in general." He said. "I know Thali never did. I think it's just me." He shrugged again. He had no friends on Gaia, and was shy around most people. What else was he supposed to do?

"Well you can't just keep sleeping in her yard without her permission. It's kind of creepy." Kaimi decided. "If you really want to sleep outside you should find a public park or something." She eyed him. "I really think a hotel would be better, though." Then a thought struck her. "Hey, aren't elves magic, or something?"

Jacen frowned slightly, he'd never thought of it as creepy. "I might find a hotel.. See.. the only reason I stayed there is because I don't know anyone. And I'm shy." He blushed at this confession, as if proving his point.
"Magic?" He paused to consider her question. "I don't know. Some of us are. Thali is.. Because she's been studying magic. But I don't think we're born that way."

"Well, you dont have to know people to stay at a hotel. And it's got to be more comfortable than sleeping on the ground. Plus, you know Thali and her family. And you know me, now!" She grinned at him. "So now you have no excuses."

"Yeah but.. Thali wouldn't let me stay at her place.. and..." It'd be really awkward staying at Kaimi's! He started to blush. "Er. Well, I couldn't stay at your place because.." He started to explain, before cutting himself off. He muttered something before gently taking her hand.
"Anywhere you want to go?" He asked.

Her bag and all her stuff was still at Thali's, but Kaimi got the distinct impression that Jacen just wouldn't be comfortable going back there with her. She eyed him up and down, wondering when the last time he'd eaten had been. If he was sleeping in the bushes, probably not recently. "Lets get something to eat." She decided. "And then we'll find you a place to stay."

Indeed, Jacen had not thought to stop to eat in.. a long time. He remembered eating a few days ago, and that hadn't been much. He was straving! Though, eating in front of someone he fancied didn't seem like a good idea. He didn't want to look like he was over-eating.
"Okay, where do you want to eat?" The elf asked, the wind sweeping his silvery hair into his face. He had an irritated look on his face as he pushed it out of his eyes.

"Hmmm..." Kaimi threaded her arm through his and started steering them both down the street towards a nearby shopping area that boasted several restaraunts. "Theres pizza and pasta and mexican down this way." She said. "What sounds good to you?"
