If you could, would you power your house with clockwork and a crank?
  Yes!
Sometimes, like if the power is out
Probly not, it'd be fun for parties or something though.
  No, I doubt I would.
No way in hell! Thats stupid
What? You expect me to get off the computer and actually Turn a crank?! By Myself?! BLASPHEMY!

Yea, not only is it green but it would be very cheep. And to boot it would be pretty awesome XD

And yea, people don't see the potential in clockworks and steam. people are to lazy to get off their arses and turn a handle now and then. They'd rather pollute and spend money needlessly.

And for those of us with family members who ask us to grab the remote control for the telly when it's sitting a few inches away from them, we'll be the ones turning the crank all the time. XD
Re: clock sounds~ they put me to sleep too. It is very soothing. biggrin
I'd much rather hear the sound of ticking clocks than my neighbours talking or people partying outside late at night.

Zenath has a good point about water-powered things during a drought. I live in a desert, so we are always having water restrictions and watching our usage, particularly during fire-danger 'season', as we'll need that to put out any sudden fires. So, although it's extra physical work, clockwork power would come in handy in places where water is scarce.

And we have found a flaw. My dad calls me like I'm Jesus enough already -.Q If something like that existed I'd never get anything done at home.

It's been my dream to build a town in the desert, a recreation of one, at least, with my personal observatory/fortress dominating the center...

And have an irrigation canal to supply water...

although I'm afraid I'd be too lonely...

But it would be glorious, with gears lining the main roads... ah...

I'm in college to be a cop. o.o I can be town guard!

Ah! do you use Autodesk VIZ max? I'm familiar with that one. I'm also adept with AutoCAD 2009.

i know how to use a handful of things; Autodesk 3DStudioMAX, Autodesk Maya, Catia V.4, Blender.

i use 3DSMAX best though, we are working with it at college, we have to take photos of a room in college and then recreate it in a style of our choice, obviously, mine was steampunk, i will upload some photos when it's finished (deadline is next week, so yeah, should get some good photos up by then)

you know what you should do? Make a 3d simulation of the town XD

it would be EPIC if you could make it kind of like a 3d chat. like make avitars of each of us and let us wander around and use some simple chat program XD

but that would be too good to be true

ah, if only I had the program. I'm limited to what the college will let me use... I have an outdated version somewhere, but it doesn't work like I'm used to...
