Fish watched Writ warily as he ranted. At this point he had a pounding headache and wanted to go home. And sleep. Forever. He would get up and leave now, except he was afraid that if he did, Writ would just turn into another drunk bum in the gutter.
"Or it could just be a random wild animal attack in the middle of the city," said Fish, and pressed his forehead to the cool surface of the bar again. It was never just a random wild animal attack. What Writ had said could easily count as a rare moment of clarity.
"Vlad's dad's a Suit," he murmured again, "But has anyone actually ever seen Vlad transform? Or does he just have a tail?"

Writ had calmed down a little bit. There wasn't much left to say.
"I have, back when he was just a kid. I haven't seen him in a while..." Writ shrugged, "What, you think that the Suits are pushing some pieces of their own? Gods, it would suck if someone in the game was working for the suits. Make it a lot harder on all of us if you ask me."
Writ chuckled, "Heh, not like it wasn't already hard."

"The suits are a totally random element," shrugged Fish, taking a long gulp from his water. "No one knows much about them. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they were part of this."
He motioned widely. "All this, I mean. Everything."
He was having a rare moment of clarity. It made his head hurt.
"I should get home."

"Well, whatever they're doing, they got my attention." Writ slipped his money for his drinks. His elbow slipped on the bar trying to get up, nearly smashing his head against the counter.
"I'm coming with you." He mumbled, "Don' think it's wise walking alone around here anymore..."
