*Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Austin, the real, living Kero is playing a game of dragon and squid with the krakenous Lyssan, trying valiently to stay one step ahead of her tentacles as they grapple a mile below the sea*
*On the surface, meanwhile, Kero's body has finished dissolving, revealing a shred of mist that disappears in a flash of emptiness: Kero's soul, bound for it's half-damnation in the endless void*

Rhea: He is in one piece, young one...this was a decoy...designed to die...a masterpiece of design, built by my master, but designed by me. The real Kero is deep beneath the ocean, battling to keep his butt out of trouble, quite literally.

Nutty cats...Kero's the only sane one...and he's not even a real feline...wonder how he's doing underwater.
*As if in answer, the scene switches out, revealing Kero darting around a Kraken's tentacles for quite some time before finally getting snagged*

The cat appears sitting precariously on a floating log near to Austin. Well, that wasn't him, mate. I guess Lyssan got the read deal in her sights. A void mage can only make so many of those simulacrums before he spreads himself too thin. And I had just stocked away a good supply of kumis in my cabin too. rolleyes
