Thats what she thought. The poor creature did not understand what had happened. However, she wanted to get him to at least confess the dream so that she would have some basis for her theory.
"Really?" Katrina said with her best sarcastic drawl. "So you expect me to believe that you went to bed and everything was okay, and when you woke up it looked like a beast had torn apart the furniture? Shall I go tell Isabel that? Or perhaps you would like to tell her yourself?"

Hopefully Jhovam would know enough to realise that Isabel would swiftly and harshly punish him.

Jhovam squirmed uncomfortably in his hard chair, trying to decide on an idea. The dream, it was not known. It was sort of creepy, actually. What could it mean?

Deciding on telling Mistress what happened, Jhovam opened his mouth, then began to recite the oddly vivid dream.

When the odd tale was over, Jhovam retreted as far as he could into his chair, fearing the wrath of his mistress's powers. His blue eyes flashed with prime and wild fear, much like a deer in a carriage's candle-stick headlights.

Katrina nodded. Just as she suspected. She strode up to him and leaned over him, bearing down on the shrunken figure in the chair.
"Under pain of death you are not to tell a single soul, man or woman, about this dream under any and all circumstances save that I tell you to. However, you are still in a world of trouble. Isabel has taken a terrible curiosity in your demolished room. Lucky you, her man servant and myself have managed to convince her that it may be a prank. You are to follow through with that. You have no idea who it might be. Also, if you have this dream again you are NOT to break the barrier. You are not to meet with Cedric. Other than that make up a story and stick to it. We might be able to pin this one some other slave. Do you know of anyone who would want to see you get into trouble?"

Katrina highly doubted such a new addition would have enemies by now, esspecially someone as meek as this. She would have to make it seem like some of the other slaves were trying to intimidate the new recruit. Isabel would probably randomly select a few of them and punish them to make an example. Then Katrina would have to try and make the whole compound put this behind them. The one flaw in this plan was that, as often as the power struggle among slaves caused such problems, there has never been an incident like this before.

Jhovam paused before a moment. In the past, his world has been black and white. The good people were all on the side of each other, and they all told humble Jhovam what to do. But this, this opened up a new light. Katrina, one mistress, told him to withhold information from another mistress. They are not one, unified team? They are ... seperate?

Jhovam nodded after he figured out his thoughts. "I promise, on my word as a servant to the compound, that I shall not tell others about this." He opened his mouth, closed it, then opened it again. "And I shall lie about the fact that it wasn't a prank, because you asked of it, Mistress."

His body, other than the nodding head, was frozen in the frightened position.

Katrina knew he was afraid. She still did not understand this one, as many of the slaves had a much stronger sense of self. From what she could precieve, Jhovam was just trying to keep his head beneath the polotics of the woman in the compound. She had best explain to him, at least partly, why he needed to keep this a secret.

Katrina knelt in front of him now, the fierce and commanding trainer becoming the soft and compassionate care-giver. She reached out with her hand to place it on his cheek, sending out the soothing, calming emotions of her subtle magic to calm Jhovam down.
"I know you may not understand why women would ask you to keep secrets from other woman, Jhovam, but it is not for any malicious reason that I ask you to do this. Your dreams are important. If they found out about them, you would put many people in danger of their lives, including yourself and Rashmak. Do you understand now?"

It was like explaining to a dog why he had to eat thee scraps at the table, but hopefully Katrina would recieve more than just a blank stare. At least she was trying.

"All right, all right, all right." Jhovam repeated these words over and over, the next 'all right' softer than the last, but all in the same blank tone.

He nodded smoothly, his face falling deep in thought and his body relaxing. This moment may be taken wrong by Jhovam, and he was only half listening to his Mistress.

His mind raced over everything he has learned as a slave. He flashed back to being beated for looking at his mistress when he was not told to. The times he was below "The Women", the times where he was just a slave ... but which women was he below?

In his heart, Jhovam felt Rashmak's presence, the youthful dragon, feed these thoughts. Rashmak wanted Jhovam to be free from slavery, so he fanned the flames of rebellion.

"Yes, Mistress. I understand now." Jhovam's face still held the submissive stare, buth is voice had more of a backbone to it. Jhovam himself was stunned, and through that, Rashmak had much more of an influence than before.

She was pleased with the sudden flash of strength he found in himself. If Jhovam let slip what actually happened, it wouldnt nessecarily equal disaster, but it would be the start of a very unpleasent series of events. Katrina would rather not let Isabel have enough to add two and two together.

"Good." Katrina said simply and stood up. She wished just for once that she had a female she could talk to about all this dragon stuff. But she had to make due with what she had. She thanked the powers that be that Jhovam had not caught on about how accepting of all this she was. She would let him know in her own time.

"I know you can read a little. If I gave you something to read, could you keep it in the medical books I lent you. It will be about dragons and you will come to understand more. Cedric wanted you to be careful because young dragons and their powers can be rather wild." Oh did she ever know. Drxisisliege was no princess, that was for sure, and the mood swings Katrina had gone through when she was younger was an annoyance to the family. Now she knew it was probably Drex's fault.

"Tell me, Jhovam. Other than this dream, what do you know about Rashmak?"
PostPosted: Mon Dec 12, 2005 5:45 pm

"Why, I'd love to learn more. Learning is very good, yes, very good ..."

Jhovam listened more intently on the arising information.

"What do I know? Well, he is silvery, like liquid steel. His is very large, very nice, and quite noble. Other than that, he is generally like ... like ..."

Jhovam struggled with the words, but he finally managed to finish his thought with the hard words: "... like me."

"Wonderful!" Katrina said, happy to know that Jhovam could communicate so well with his dragon. "I am sure you would like to go back to the dragon world, Jhovam. We you go with me sometime if I could get you out of the compound with me?"

She would have to talk to Cedric first. She wanted to know why he would not help Jhovam to learn to handle his powers.

Jhovam shook his head vigorously. "Sorry, ma'am. I must follow what Cedric said, for he was wise in his words. When I am stronger in spirit, I would love to come with you, though."

Jhovam made a warm smile spread across his tired face. "Thank you greatly for requesting my presence. I hope that, in the future, I will not be of a bother to you."

Jhovam was intent on growing in his mental will and spirit so that he may once again view the large world of Rashmak. After all, it was a lovely place.

((Sorry I was gone for so long. Very, very busy life.))

((No problem. Everyone has a life right? smile ))
"Whatever you want" Katrina said, a little angry that Jhovam would rahter listen to Cedric then her. She would have to talk to Cedric and see if she could convience the man to encourage Jhovam.
"You just remember what I told you or you will put us both in danger, and our dragons as well. So don't make me have to tell you again." Katrina just hoped he understood the importance of this. Men never seemed to take the important things in life seriously unless you made them afraid of it. Another reason why many women had to practice their gift on their slaves.
"You are dismissed."
