Rhine hooked his claws into the rocks on the bottom of the lakes surface bringing them a jerky halt. He was slower from this point because they were entering shallower areas.
After surfacing he brought them past the sandy shore and into the grass area. He was considerably slower as he moved from one point to the next. With her still hanging on he gave a good shaking off- starting at the head, and ending at the tip of his tail. Water flew everywhere... He was effectively acting as a 'fancy' water sprinkler to the plants around them.
Once he was considerably drier he 'tucked' his legs under him and swung his tail around- forming that same step as previous. He couldn't help but to have a silly grin on his face as he turned his head to look her in the eyes.

Keeta gratefully gulped in a few breaths after they surfaced, still clinging to Rhine for dear life after the rollercoaster ride and the sudden stop. She was grateful for the slower speed, because it meant she didn't have to concentrate as hard to hold on to him....or so she thought until he started shaking off the water and she was suddenly scrambling to find a secure handhold to keep from falling off.
When she was given the opportunity to get off, she was grateful to do so. Maybe next time she would be better prepared, but she felt slightly shell-shocked as her face would show when he turned to look at her. She tried to smile a little and kept her tone light so she wouldn't hurt his feelings.
"Well....that was quite a ride. I think it's going to take a little for me to get used to that..."

"Guess I did get carried away," Rhine said with a sigh. He didn't need to look at Keeta to know that she hadn't 'enjoyed' herself... Her voice spoke volumes.
He moved himself a bit away from Keeta before transforming into the form that he knew she was more use to. He ran his fingers through his hair before pulling it back. Afterwords he pulled on a pair of shorts and pulled her towards the center of their little 'escape'.

"Sorry....I guess I just wasn't prepared for that," she said, feeling bad at his evident disappointment. Keeta allowed Rhine to lead her whereever they were going, wrapping her arm around him to let him know that she wasn't upset. She began to look in front of where they were going. Now that they were on solid ground again her curiosity was piqued once more.

Rhine pulled Keeta until they fit like puzzle pieces- curve in curve, step in step. He was again smiling as he found himself giddier with each step.
"Close your eyes," he said as he knew they were right about on top of the picnic area he'd prepared for them. He could hardly contain his excitement now.

Smirking at his evident excitement, Keeta obligingly did as she was told and closed her eyes. As they drew closer to what was obviously their destination, Keeta felt her own heartrate and excitement building. Even a few butterflies surfaced in her stomach. What did he have waiting for her?

He wrapped his arms around her waist. "You know when people think of forever they think of circles, rings... but seldom rivers. I'm named after a river and as long as there in breath in me my love for you will flow forever..." He gently picked up her appropriate hand and with his other hand held out a ring in front of her.

Keeta opened her eyes as he spoke and as she listened and then saw the ring, she almost instantly went through a whole series of emotions. Shock. Pleasant Surprise. Joy. Confusion. Heartache. Worry. Concern. Love. Resolve. Peace. Back to Joy.
"Oh Rhine!" she said, tears springing to her eyes as she accepted the ring from him and placed it on her finger. As soon as it was secure she wrapped her arms around him and buried her face in his chest. She hoped the turmoil of emotions had not surfaced on her face, or that if it had, it could be attributed to overwhelming joy. The proposal had brought back thoughts of Kael, whom she had managed not to think of for some time. She still felt guilty in a way, for the manner in which they had parted. Keeta also knew Rhine must be experiencing something similar with Jasmine and wondered how he was faring internally, but knew it was a question she would never dream of asking.

His arms back around her waist he lifted her up and spun her around. Just a couple times to prevent her from getting dizzy. He sat her back down and kissed her. This moment could not have been more perfect especially she had evidently said yes. There was no possible way this grin was going to come off his face for at least a good solid week. "I love you," he said as he ran his fingers through her hair and kissed her again. "... all of you... your children included." He just had to make sure he added that to let her know that he thought of the entire picture.

"I love you too Rhine," she breathed between the kisses that she passionately returned. The past was the past. She would give her whole self to this man who was giving his whole self to her. The part of her brain that wasn't fuzzy from the kisses and excitement hoped that Rhine, with his statement about children, would be able to forge a father-son relationship with Joel. She so wanted him to have a father....

Overwhelmed with continued happiness he hugged her tightly and continued to kiss her. He really didn't want to let go of her... BUT he did have more planned for this evening. "I fixed us a picnic lunch," he said breathlessly as he still refused to stop kissing her.

"Should we..." kiss "...go over..." kiss "...there then, so..." kiss "...your efforts aren't wasted?" she asked, managing to pull herself away at the end, so she could finish her question.

He chuckled. "Even if we didn't eat a thing nothing would be wasted... You said yes and that's enough in my book." He grinned and finally let her go and pulled her onto the blanket. "But, since you are insisting on not wasting..." He sat down first and then pulled her down into his lap.

She snuggled in against him, enjoying the warmth of the closeness of his body. Her eyes gazed downwards and glanced at the ring on her left hand, which she turned and twisted do that the sunlight would catch it at different angles. She just hoped this would turn out better than the last time she had a ring on that finger.
Pushing the thoughts away, she twisted so she could see Rhine's face and smiled.
"So...what've you got here?"

"A little of everything," he said not really sure what exactly his sisters had packed... and they had all had a hand in planning the lunch for this picnic. "I do know though that everything is good." He grinned innocently enough.
