With a frustrated wicker, Brajan hardly had time to halt himself. He went over into the stream with a loud splash and a sharp curse aimed solidly at the gods above.
Faltering, he pushed himself up, groaning with the effort. Front hooves setting to stone, he gave himself a fast shake, then started after the foal at a dead run, unaware that the charge and the state he was in would likely only frighten her worse.

Cocoa found, yet again, another overly small sized bush to hide herself in. This time though she didn't move much, just wanting to be alone once again, with out the other Kirin. Hopefully he would not find her, she would find her parents herself with out his help.

Slowing to nose the air, Brajan frowned in frustration. Where had she gone? With a sigh, he continued on more slowly. She had hid before. It was likely the same now. Closing his eyes, his nostrils flared as he scented the air. Her legs weren't long, and she still carried the clumsiness of youth.
Ah.. there. He shook his head gently. Have to teach her how to actually pick out a spot that covered her. Dropping to his belly, his cheeks burning under his reddy-brown fur, he pressed his muzzle to the bush. "Little one?" His voice was soft, carried a hint of apology.

She squeaked softly, she had been found once again. She stared at him questioning, Was he still mad? Why was she found so Easily once again? She slowly backed up as these questions flowed into her mind. Her ears laid back on her head as she watched him, waiting to see what he would do.

"I'm sorry, little one. I didn't mean to scare you, but you were going to fall in the water." He made no move to follow her. If he acted upset or moved on her now, he might only frighten her worse. An ear flicked as he considered. Leaning over her, he snapped up a fluffy white daffodil, dropping it at her feet. "Forgive me?"

She stopped moving backwards looking at him curiously. She eyed the Daffodil before sniffing at it, it wasn't before long before the flower ended up in her mouth as she ate it. As she did so Cocoa's ears flicked up her tail beginning to swish again. She inched her way towards him until their noses touched.

The stallion breathed a short sigh of relief. "Thank goodness. You really scared me for a moment." He nuzzled her silky nose gently with his own. "You're quite a hand full." With a sigh, he leaned over and nibbled a tufted ear affectionately, weighing all that had happened thus far. "You've never seen your parents, have you?"

A small smile spread crossed her face. At the word parents Cocoa shook her head and then tilted it at him. Maybe he was her father? He was sort of the same color as her. The little foal gave a small snort before she pushed herself to her feet.

So that was it. Sighing, Brajan rose up. "So you hatched alone." This would be a lot harder than he'd thought. "Then what happened to your-... no, it won't do." They might have been hurt, killed. She might have simply been snatched away. Wondering out loud would probably only worry her. "I suppose, then, we walk."

Cocoa opened her mouth to speak once more but nothing came out so she closed it and nodded. She wanted to try to lean how to speak but it seemed nothing was working well in that aspect. She then moved into the forest unsteadily walking on her legs, she took a few glances back making sure he was following her.

Curious. Casting a confused glance at the filly, he moved in beside her. Allow her to lead for a time. Perhaps instinct or memory would take her back to that place she was hatched. Whatever place she called home.

Cocoa wandered through the woods constantly looking up at Brajan, every few minutes. Her tail flicked and she really didn't know where she was going, nor did she care. She was just happy now that she wasn't alone, not that she minded it but she did feel safer with Brajan at her side.

The stallion watched the trees around them, shaking his head as the terrain began to change. "You have no idea where we're going, do you?" Green eyes turned down to the filly. Not that he supposed it mattered. He didn't exactly have anywhere to be either.

All Cocoa did to respond to him was grin up at him. Basically telling him that yes she didn't know where they were going. Even though she was more steady on her feet she still seemed to trip over the smallest things. Like always after tripping she giggled and pushed herself back to all fours.

As they walked, Brajan watched her thoughtfully. Was he that ungraceful when he was small? Well, at least she didn't seem to be hurt. Still, he was unable to resist a lecture. "You need to watch your feet. And pay attention to the world around us, or you might find yourself on the business end of a hungry predator."
