Orange Blossom Evil tour guides are bad. Cheese festivals are good. Especially the one I heard about in England where people chase giant wheels of cheese down a very steep hill. Apparently we're coming over to England to the festival as part of my housemate's bachelorette party, whenever she decides to get married (since her bf is English, but is now currently living in France). Yes, evil tour guides are bad. Especially the one we had. I mean, she was trying to lead 40 Americans walking through the streets of Paris at rush hour...and never bothered to look behind her to see if we were all together or not. Our group managed to get separated on the subway...twice...My advice is: anybody who ever goes to Paris should not for any reason use the Metro. The people on it are evil.

It wouldn't have been so bad if it had been mostly us kids on the trip (it was a school trip), then we would've been able to keep up. But half was parents, who were slow and had a tendency to complain all the time.
If the tour guide had actually bothered to tell us where we were going when, that would've helped too.

I'm American, so I'd need some form of guide in a foreign country.
...Heck, I need one in strange cities in my own country.

Take Me Out Who needs tourist guides anyway? Well...we did. There were about half a dozen of us who had taken 4 or 5 years of French, plus the two French teachers, and pretty much everyone else had no idea whatsoever what was going on. That whole...language barrier thing. I mean, all of us kids were in French classes, but there were a whole bunch that were only in French 1 or 2, meaning they basically know "hello," "goodbye," some numbers, the French alphabet, and "cheese." And all the parents that came along with us didn't know any French at all.

Orange Blossom What's in Paris? Is it the airport? I've never been to France, but one of my housemates just came back and she was telling us about it. It sounds like a nice place. smile Its supposed to be. My cousins/aunts and uncles all go over there with campers or rent them over there in the summer. I've never been.
