Raquel wrapped her arms around him as best as she could, holding on just as tightly. She was curled up in his lap like a small child as she just cried into him. Sometimes he confused her so much. He showed in moments like these, that he obviously cared for her very much. But then he always seemed to change right back, mentioning Lorey, or how he just enjoyed taking care of her. But after getting to know him for just so briefly, she began to understand that was simply his way. He wanted someone to care for, and she needed to be taken care of. At first she felt that this was his only reason for bringing her in, to give himself closure of some sort. And while that spiteful half of her mind kept that at forefront, her other half wanted to say it was something much more.

She had so much she wanted to tell him, so much she wanted to say..but words wouldn't come. She merely held onto him tightly, trying to maintain that feeling of feeling 'safe'. She did manage to catch her breath long enough to utter a few, quiet, shaking words. "You're an a-amazing man Damian..." She nuzzled her head into his chest, trying to calm herself down.

There was a blanket upon the window seat, but they were mostly sitting on it. What half he could pull up just barely covered them. It covered Raquel, though, and that was enough.

"And you are an amazing woman," he told her, before kissing her forehead as he had done at the mall. Silence seemed to envelope them once the sobs and tears ended, and the night truly came in the world outside. The air would get chillier, no doubt making this little area by the window a bit colder, too. It was a fortunate thing, though, that he felt so warm inside. He hoped sincerely that Raquel felt the same, if not a little better about everything.
"You should curl up in bed... did you buy pajamas?"

Even if she did, it would be hard for him to let her go. Damian didn't want to let go just yet.

Raquel gripped his shirt with her small hands tightly. "Please...don't go just yet..." She pleaded, looked up at him, for once in her life, not wanting to be left alone. She had never felt so...alone before. She had never needed anyone so badly in her life. Wit her head resting on his chest, she looked up at him. subconsciously, she reached up to play with a few strands of his dark hair that had fallen into his face. moving them out of the way, she gently touched the corner of his eyes, gingerly working her way back down to his lips. She loved his face. That was so strange to her, but she just loved his sharp features, coupled with a dignified, if not noble air. She had no clue if it were simply hereditary, or if it were soemthing he had acquired over the years. But she didn't care. She thought he was a dashing character. And here she was, in his arms.

Damian closed his eyes as she felt his face like a blind person learning features. If she wanted him to stay... then he would stay. He doubted she was ever allowed to have anything she wanted before he came along, so such a simple request would be nothing for him to fulfill.

"Would you like me to see you off to sleep?" It was Damian's turn to touch features, first starting with her smudged eyes (which weren't really all that smudged since she had cried most of the makeup right off), to her fine little nose, and then to her own lips. They were nothing like Lorey's features, but he was finding himself to be more partial to Raquel's than hers all of a sudden.

Raquel closed her eyes and sighed contently as his fingers graced her skin. She opened them again to meet his gaze before nodding shyly. She didn't want him to ever leave. She wanted this moment to just be frozen forever with both of them so content and just...happy. Raquel had never felt so vulnerable as she did when he was with her. Damian had this power, to contort and twist and set free her tightly locked emotions and feelings. She wasn't sure if she loved or hated that. But right now, she couldn't care less either way. She just wanted him there.

"Alright."
Damian had to admit that he was not a man of strength, but in this moment, he would try. Being very careful, he picked up Raquel from the window seat, and carried her over to the bed, where he set her down once more right towards the middle, with himself sitting behind her, arms still wrapped around where she could feel secure.

"This is all yours, you know," he whispered, reaching behind him for a pillow. "This bed, this room, the clothes you chose today... or yesterday, whichever it was. It is all yours, and no one can take it from you."
With a smile and a rather dreamy look in his eye, he calmly added, "And I suppose that goes for me as well."

"Damian...I'm no good for you..." She said softly, her eyes closed as she leaned her head back on him. "I'm like a horrid drug...one that gets you addicted, dependent if anything...And yet even if I don't mean to...I'll end up hurting you..." She turned herself sideways so that she could still be in his arms but so she could look up at him at the same time. "I-...I don't want that..." She leaned up and kissed him on the corners of his mouth before gently, briefly gracing his lips with her own in their entirety.

He enjoyed that little kiss, but had to constantly keep himself in check. There would be none of that at this stage of their relationship, especially not when she had been used so many times before.

"We all hurt people in some way or another," he said. "I think this is just a matter of enjoying one another's company, and seeing how far we get without driving each other completely and absolutely insane... that is, if this world doesn't do that first."
The pillow was brought over so that she could rest her head, while he sat nearby to hold her hand or rub her back. Damian didn't quite trust himself to hold her close for the night, not when he was full of emotional baggage and bound to make some kind of mistake because of it.

Raquel felt like she was keeping a secret from him. One a bit darker than even her assaults that he had so graphically dreamed of. She couldn't bare the thought of his reaction to other parts of her past. Though, sh tried to reason, there hasn't been an 'incident' in a long time. Though she couldn't help but feel paranoid. "You spoke of how Lorey, Richard and yourself all lost people close to you..." She began laying her head down on the pillow, but still facing him, wanting to take him in with her eyes. "I have had a similar plight...though it seems that anyone who has tried to get close to me has ended up hurt or.." She couldn't finish the sentence. She diverted her eyes momentarily. "I've only been close to maybe 3 people in my entire lifetime...all of them are dead now, except one, whom I've stopped all communication and contact with just in case..." She had another pillow in her arms by now, hugging it for closure.

"Ah..." So, she, too, was being hunted by something. But what? And how did fate push them all together like this? It was madness the way things were playing out, something Damian did not think was fated at all, but due to someone pulling strings. But damn it all, who?

He shook his head, not being any closer to an answer, and reached out to touch her brow.
"This is strange... how we are all being victimized by something we cannot see or hope to understand." His fingers began stroking her pale forehead, barely touching at all. "But I would not worry about this right now, Raquel. You do need sleep..."
The morning would come soon enough without them worrying over things they could not do anything about.

Raquel closed her eyes gently as his smooth voice penetrated her fears and worries, wrapping her in a blanket of comfort as she took his hand in hers. She opened her eyes ever so slightly, looking at his hands with wonder and appreciation as she tried to fight sleep. "You have a lovely voice..." She said half asleep already. She knew he was right, there was nothing they could do at this moment in time about their problems. She should just relax and enjoy his company while she could. "Could...Could you come every night?" She asked, her heavy eyes now glancing up at him. "To say goodnight I mean...I-...I love hearing your voice and knowing your here before I fall...asleep..." Her soft voice trailed off a bit as she seemed to doze off momentarily, still holding his hand, bringing it closer to her heart.

There was something in that request that made his heart ache. Such a simple thing to ask for... she never made any sort of unreasonable request, so it should not have surprised him as much as it did, but Damian held on to that strange shock anyhow.

"Thank you... I will come if you want me to. And if ever you should wake up and need me for something, you know that I am right next door." He let her hold his hand so close to her heart. If he concentrated enough, he could make out her heart beat. It made him smile. Truly and honestly smile.

"I should tell you stories or read to you or... something, if you enjoy hearing me prattle on so much."
He thought of the library filled with books he managed to save from his office. Surely there must be at least one story in there that would hold their attention for a few nights at least...

She smiled, half conscious. "I'd...like that very much..." She sighed, letting sleep slowly but surly take over her. "I'll find someway to repay you somehow..." She promised, feeling so...at peace as she was on the border of reality and sleep.

A few hours had passed and Richard had hardly noticed. He had been to wrapped up in Lorey's voice and how her eyes dazzled as she read aloud, both of them being sucked into the story almost immediately. He was growing very tired, but he kept himself awake fro Lorey, not wanting to miss one moment of seeing her so happy. He had his arms around her, and she was practically in his lap as she continued reading. He hadn't said much, except to help her with a word or two. Oh how he loved to hear her read. it pained him that he would have to leave soon, even if it were only fora day or two...

"Good night, Raquel..."
And she was asleep. Damian didn't leave, though. Her hands were still holding his, and for a moment, he found that he was simply content with sitting there, and not worrying about anything but Raquel. Was she sleeping well? he wondered. Would she have nice dreams, if any at all? He hoped she would. Better than his dreams, at least.
It was so strange how everything between them simply fell into place. He could take terrible advantage of her, he knew. It was almost sickening how Damian could envision her doing almost anything for his sake, and how he could dangle everything he had given her right over her head. He'd done it before to many others. Women, especially. But he couldn't do that to Raquel. She'd been hurt enough and he could not add to that and go on with life.

A few minutes passed, just watching her sleep. Damian's eyes began to droop, but she still held his hand... such a desperate grip, even in sleep. And so, not wanting to disturb her at all, Damian simply laid back upon the bed, and fell asleep next to her, hoping this wouldn't make her feel awkward if she ever woke up during the night.

Lorey could sense that she was a good storyteller. There was a way Richard listened and hovered over the words with her that made her keep going. Every now and then, there would be a word like "ambrosia" or "embroglio" that would trip her up, but everything else went smoothly.

But suddenly a yawn broke her mid-sentence, and Lorey knew it was time to place a bookmark between the pages.
"Ah... guess we better head in..." she mumbled as she rubbed her tired eyes. "When will you be leaving for your trip?" Looking up at the stars through the dome, Lorey wondered which star would hold her Richard for a few days. She'd make a wish on every one while he was gone, every time wishing for his safe return.

Richard signed deeply, rubbing eyes eyes sleepily. "Probably in a day or so...I'll get into contact with Enty in the morning sometime and see if Vi was able to repair our ship. We may give her a ride back to her home, which may just take a day out of our trip. We kind of owe her for making her miss her flight to begin with..." He was too tired to work out the details now though. "We'll see how it goes..." He rubbed his temples. roughly exhuasted now.

Raquel wasn't used to feeling safe when she slept. She had always been so used to sleeping only for an hour at a time, waking up to make sure she was still alone in her apartment or that her belongings were where she had left them. but now, even if she did wake up out of sheer habit, she realized that Damian was right there with her. Oh how beautiful he was in his sleep. It only made her scoot closer to him, almost to where her nose could touch his. She loved the sound of his steady breaths. It helped her fall back asleep easily, and more securely each time, until eventually she was out like a light, totally comfortable by his side.
