Blaze smirked, a thought coming to him. "I think I know a way we can cripple the senate. No soldier enjoys war, they all wish it was over. If we can convince enough of them to turn to our side... the tide will turn against the senate."

Blaze merely sighed and followed Bella. "Many of the soldiers, despite knowing that I was branded a traitor, still follow me, still sympathize with me. Secrecy won't be the best course of action for very long. Those several hundred soldiers your friend killed didn't agree with my execution.

"Several of them even spoke out against it, but were promptly executed as well. The senate held them in an iron grip, with no other course of action but to cow to their every whim," he stated. He looked at Bella as he followed her. "You may think I'm trying to speak out against your chain of command, but I'm trying to help."

"Of course, it'll also take strategic abilities and inside knowledge of the two armies for this to succeed. Luckily for you, I have all of the war-time strategies of the Black Lions planned for the next decade with me. After all, I was the one who came up with them," Blaze stated. He looked at Bella, a calm look in his eyes. "The senators have started taking an interest in the army, and some have gotten their hands on magic.

"As such, they support the army from afar. I know their exact locations, which means we can pick them off one-by-one. Of course, they're heavily protected, but it shouldn't be too much if over two-hundred men were decimated by your friend in approximately ten minutes," the general stated. He sighed, however, a downcast look in his eyes. "Those men she killed... I got to know them over the years. They all had hopes and dreams, that this war would end. But, there are still other soldiers in the army, elsewhere, who may turn if I can convince them to... provided they don't see this-" He pointed to the left side of his neck, tilting it away so Bella would be able to notice. A large, black star was branded into his neck.

"The sign of a traitor... impossible to remove, even with magic. They've placed wards on it that negate any possible removal attempts," he continued.

"I have another idea then... send me in as a spy in White Hawk territory. If they see this mark, they may believe I could be an ally. I could work my way through their ranks, and find out information about their leaders as well," Blaze stated. His voice sounded hopeful, believing strongly that it could work. "After all, there is the old saying, the enemy of my enemy is my friend."

"I perfectly understand, and I still wish to go through with this. I knew the dangers of this when I suggested it. And you needn't worry, I'll be as discrete as any assassin would be," the young general stated.

"I'll leave in a couple of days. I need some time to think... all of this is rather overwhelming. I find myself about to be executed only to be saved and joining a faction that truly wants to end this accursed war," the boy answered. He noticed that she was playing the guitar and smiled. "You play the guitar as well?"
