Arin watched as Aki moved unbelievably fast, distorting even the light around her body. And then she saw the wave of energy passing up the bo. The red veins in the lacquer served a purpose. It made it almost impossible to follow with your eyes. And she didn't have time to dodge the staff. Aki was making full use of her skills. And she was already using Arin's flying tricks in battle and beating me with them.

The saiyan was sent flying backward, blasted by a wave of concussive force, and she tumbled end over end before she suddenly stopped by crouching against the wall, the force of her impact sending a ripple along the wall, disturbing the small amount of dust and sending it flying.

She brought her hands back, so that her right was on her left side, by her cheek, and her left was on her right, by her other cheek. A small ball of purple energy formed between the index and middle, and the ring and pinky fingers on each hand. She sent all four balls of ki towards Aki, each one leaving a purple tail as it traveled, the heat bending the light around each projectile.



Technique Name: Ki shot
Description of Jutsu: allows the user to form a ball of their ki that can be thrown/shot at their opponent. This is one of the most basic forms of attacking with ki, as it only requires a loosely-formed ball/beam/arrow/projectile (depending on your specialty/preference) of energy and the ability to move your arm (or not, as it were)

Aki felt three hot points of energy hit her when Arin flung her attacks at her. She dropped down to her knee as she was pounded by the force that followed. She was breathing heavily, and she couldn't continue the fight without completely exhausting herself. She held up a hand to her lover "I yield! I'll get you eventually, Arin." She laughed. "You've got to teach me how to do that, though. It's just not fair." Aki chuckled.

Arin jumped down and landed in front of Aki, offering her a hand to help her up. "That might be arranged." She turned her head and called out to the ship "Alice!"

Yes, mi'lady?

"Is there a place on the ship to practice the kinds of attack I just performed? Using energy?"

Yes. A small room to the side of where you are now. The back wall uses the energy to power the ship.

"Thank you, Alice. She turned back to Aki, looking back to a now-lit doorway "Looks like we can start right there. It's really just focusing your energy into your hand and making sure that it gets to where it's going intact. I can help you, if you need it."

"No thanks, my love. I believe I'll try on my own for now." She looked into her hand, trying to focus her ki into her palm. She wasn't giving it much deep thought as to technique or anything. She just wanted to see how she got the basic idea before she tried anything fancy. She could feel the pressure building in her palm as she closed her eyes and tried to picture the technique just happening. If she was that lucky, who knows, she might even be able to learn another trick. No doubt they'd all come in handy eventually.

"Alright, my love. I will most likely be in the medical bay. When a saiyan is injured badly, we recover to become even stronger than we were before. So I'm going to train 'til I drop. I'll see you when you're done, love." So nonchalant about the whole thing. She stepped out of the room and walked to another room. Stepping inside, she noticed that there wasn't anything in it. The walls were bare, and holes were laid out. Hundreds of them, all in rows and columns. Even on the floor. "What is this?"


A chamber designed to test the limits of the agility of the user. blasts of energy are fired from the holes at irregular intervals, and it is the task of the user to dodge them or be negatively reinforced.

"Oh, hell yeah. Turn it on. And don't stop until I'm unconscious." No response. But a low hum filled the room. Arin walked into the center of the place and took a deep breath.

Aki was startled out of her technique. She listened to what Arin said and realized that arguing with her would be useless. If training extra hard would give her even more of a reward, then so be it... "Be careful, Arin." Aki looked back down into her palm and tried to focus her ki into her hand. She took a deep breath and just tried to let it flow down her arm and pool in the cup of her palm. Slowly she began to pool her energy, and she took another deep breath before trying to throw it at the wall.

Arin was hit in the chest by the first shot. It had caught her unaware. She, however, was able to dodge the second. It had come from the side, and as she rolled back to ease the pain of the first shot, completely dodging the second one. She hopped up and began pondering something Tatopa had said to her. If his family really was that powerful... If they really were supposed to be that fond of him... Then when they got back to Nexum, they shouldn't go to the Saiyan quarter.... It would be very bad to run into the brute's family. Especially if they had paid more attention to their training than he had to his. With her new power she could easily take him. But he was dead. She had already been able to easily take him. Hmmm...

Aki watched the ball dissipate before it hit wall. She sighed. Oh well. Third time's the charm. She took a deep breath and began to picture her ki flowing into her hand. This time she tried to picture it being woven into a ball of cloth, held together by its own force. She could feel the heat building , and she just had to hope that everything would work out. If she could get this a few times, she was sure she would be able to remember it. Getting it was the hard part.

Arin jumped up, dodging a shot at her legs. She had to lean forward, leveling herself with the ground to dodge a simultaneous shot, ducking under it and falling to the ground, catching herself on her fingers and toes. If they show up, I'm not entirely sure we'll be able to take them. But if I keep training. If I push myself past all my limits, I might be able to fight them off... I've got to work harder... I've got to be better. If I can't take on everyone that's after us, then I won't survive long enough to save Aki...

That's what it was now... Saving Aki... Saving Aki from her own body. Saving her from time.

Aki watched the ball of energy fly forward. It didn't disintegrate. It flew to the wall, colliding with it and being absorbed into the wall without so much as a scratch. "Yes!" She'd finally gotten it. Just a few more times and she'd be completely comfortable with it. And then she could progress onto something bigger. Something better. She needed to be able to hold her own in a fight. She needed to be as fast as Arin. Maybe faster. She needed to be able to protect the woman she loved... How odd.. how readily she had accepted that fact. Arin was a woman. Aki was a woman... And neither of them cared... That's the power of love, I suppose...

Arin felt a hot spot building at her stomach. They were coming much faster now. They were hitting harder, too... This room seemed to punish you for getting hit, and punish you for not getting hit... Oh, well. She was going to be knocked out eventually anyway. She rolled over and just dodged the shot, but another shot came down from the ceiling, hitting her square in the gut, forcing her breath out. She took a strained breath and forced herself to breathe normally, preparing for the next shot.

Our heroes trained, and awaited their impending arrival on Nexum. As they travelled to the medbay, there was a danger growing in the distance. Alice daren't wake her Queens... They would need all the strength they could get....

Two... Simple... Saiyan servants rocketed toward Alice in their pods, hauling a third pod after them. Aki had woken up, and Alice asked her what should be done about the visitors... They were from Nexum... Unbeknownst to Aki, these saiyan men were from the same royal family as that misfated Tatopa... And their prisoner was a warrior with immense potential.

5 days ago...THAT could have gone better. I woke up from a tree in the forest of Nexum, mildly annoyed that I had woken up in the first place. the sun was shining bright, and there were pterodactyls patrolling the skies. I was fortunate enough to get a full meal in before I started training, and proceeded to do just that.

I later went to my usual calming spot, only to find it laid waste to. there was a saiyan: bruised, battered, bloody, and very well dead on the emerald green grass. there was a crater in his saiyan armor, and two scorched holes that pierced through his armor and all the way through his body.the way he was laying, I could tell that his spine had been broken at least once. his neck was contorted so akwardly that it had to have been broken multiple times, at least two that i could count. blood had once frothed like a river from his mouth, and his face was frozen in a horrific shape of fear that i had never seen before. I didn't know what this man had done to deserve his fate, but he didn't deserve to stay like that as far as I was concerned.

I straightened his face into an emotionless visage, and closed his eyes. that was when I heard a faint rustling through the bushes coming towards me and the late saiyan. two saiyan foot soldiers came out of the underbrush and stood directly in front of me. I assumed they were here for the dead saiyan that they referred to as Totopa, and co-operated.then they captured me before I had time to react on the accusation that I had killed him. they grabbed my tail and slapped full restraint shackles of a strong alloy over my hands and legs so i could not escape.unfortunately, i was also deprived of ki from the training I had done at my home in the tree, so flight was not an option either.

they took me back to a set of three saiyan pods, the center pod being shackled to the other two. the left pod was not standard issue, as it was black, with a purple visor window. it didn't look any faster and, as i think these words into the pod I am in for personal records, it isn't. the center pod was the standard issue pod that all saiyans get in the millitary, so nothing inertly special there, just a white sphere with a red visor window. the leftmost, however, was black like the rightmost pod. it also had a yellow visor window instead of the aforementioned red or purplethe center pod was the pod I was confined to. they waved the remote to the pod infront of my face, taunting me. I would not be escaping captivity untill I landed on another planet it seemed.

and now? i wait. out of my window, I can see a ship of ornate design, but little practality, as it's thrusters seem to be getting it nowhere fast. we seem to be heading straight towards it, as if to lay waste to it, just for fun.I hope whomever is on the ship can fight for their lives, because they might need that ability if my hunch is correct.

I sincerely hope it's wrong.

Aki strode to a beeping monitor, checking out what Alice was saying to her as she dried her hair. Apparently, these two pods were from the same place as Arin, and they had the same credentials as Arin's pod. Or at least that's what Alice said. Aki saw no reason why she shouldn't let the ships dock. They're probably Arin's friends, or those people that we were supposed to meet. The dock doors opened, and Aki got dressed, going down to meet the passengers. "Tell Queen Arin where I am when she wakes up."

"Of course, milady."

Bete was the larger of the two saiyans, and stepped out into the hangar looking around. He spotted Aki immediately... She looked almost cheerful to see them there. Did she think they didn't know? "Tatopa's pod is right there." He pointed to the unconcealed pod sitting in the hangar bay... It's like she was taunting them..."

Ape was the smaller, but stupider saiyan. He had completely missed the pod, and had to look for it before he spotted it. "Are you sure it's his?"

Bete nodded dumbly. "Yeah. I'm sure."

Aki finally noticed that something was up. They weren't interested in her... They were saying someone else's name and checking out Arin's pod. They finally turned their attentions to her.

"You've made a big mistake, girly... You've stolen from the family... Now it's time to make you pay." He laughed, and then stopped suddenly, pointing at her amused beyond belief. "Look! Tatopa ripped off her tail! Maybe we shouldn't even kill her, she's already punished enough!"

Ape laughed stupidly "She got no tail! No tail no tail no tail!"

Aki shot two balls of compressed energy at Ape, hoping to blast him enough to shut him up.

And the fight began.

Physical Description: Aki is lean. Being a traveller, she tends to eat little and train lots, so her muscles are lean and toned.
Clothing: Aki wears a pair of red martial arts pants that are loose around her ankles, a pair of red shoes that almost seem light (in weight) enough to be made of paper, and a red long-sleeved martial arts top over a black shirt.
Background: Aki was trained for a few years in martial arts, but left when she became too good for her school to teach her any further. She wanders the lands looking for a good fight. She isn't particularly violent, she just wants to challenge herself.
Personality: Aki is quick to grow agitated, but she has a good sense of self-control when she needs to have one. She generally has a cool head, even when she fights, but when she gets angry, she will kill her opponent without a second thought.

Description of Jutsu: This technique is the ability to bring the vast stores of ki that are held in your body's reserves to the surface (and often, beyond the surface, resulting in an aura of ki around the user.)

Damage: 1 hp to inanimate objects per 2 kp over resting rate, at a radius of [ki mod] feet around the user.

Special: This technique allows the user to pull their inactive ki to the active state at a rate of [ki mod + ki control] per turn.

An aura will develop around the user if they surpass their resting ki rate. Auras can displace solid matter, so it's a good idea to think through it before powering up to full strength in the middle of a flimsy building. (just a suggestion.) Ki causes damage to inanimate objects (that the user is not protecting or keeping out of this effect) at a rate of 1 hp damage per 2 kp over resting rate. Just how it happens depends on personal preference. This damage has a radius of [ki mod] feet around the user. It does not harm people.

Technique Name: Sense Ki
Description of Jutsu: This ability allows the user to sense ki levels constantly. It is a passive skill if only sensing generalities, but must actively be used to determine specific power levels.

This can also be applied to your normal martial damage, but never to a thrown object.

Bo: A Bo is basically a staff. The Bo is normally around 2m long or at the very least 6 inches longer than the person height for purposes of attacking and maneuverability.

Special: Can be used as a defensive weapon, spinning the Bo in front of you gives you + 4 in dodge bonus.

Bete looked at his brother and saw the bruise on his head. He watched as another of the hot projectiles pierced the chain holding the prisoner, but was too angry to notice. He charged the girl, aiming a punch at her gut and an elbow to her back.

Ape was mad. He charged the girl with his brother. He was aiming attacks mirrored to his own, so they would both simultaneously beat the crap out of this whelp. They had forgotten to even check her power level. But they didn't think she was going to put up much of a fight. They were stronger than Tatopa ever was, anyway. And he'd taken her tail off, right?

Arin woke up to the sound of klaxons. The ship was under attack. Aki's pod was empty. She kicked the glass door open without waiting for it to drain. She ran down the ship hallways in her black skinsuit. "Alice! Where's Aki!?"

"The hangar bay. A conflict has erupted between her and two boarded intruders. Their power levels are both about 570."

Arin sprinted through the corridors, wrenching the elevator door open and flying down the shaft. She burst through the doors in time to see the attack on Aki.
