Radio_Dynamite it doesn't really matter actually. as long as the other person can put up with our "That's what she said" coments every five minutes. :] lol

Well, I'm a percussionist and I've dated a violin player and a non-band member. Personally, I'm mostly attracted to the percussionists and the trumpets.

To add an updated opinion to my post on the first page, it really depends on the person. One of the percussion guys is dating a drama girl, and I personally really like this one -very- odd trumpet... A marching-band-only percussionist is like obsessed with one of the colorguard girls, and my sort-of-second-in-command in marching band pit is dating a freshman clarinet (which is creepy since we're both juniors lmao). A drumline guy is with another colorguard girl, and our current drum major once went out with a percussionist in my freshman year.
There's lots of percussion love here, just none within the section...'cause that would make it all just a brofest since there's like what, three girl percussionists total? :l
I would never date a fellow percussionist unless I knew he wouldn't completely piss me off all the time by showing off or anything stupid like that. Any other instrument, I don't mind them showing off because I can't play their instrument. And thus they're tolerable. Bonus to the psycho trumpet I like, he likes to learn percussion and can write music...but yeah >>;

^^ LOL psycho trumpet wink proud to be a loser a trumpet player or another percussionist cause thier equally loud and if that deosnt work live alone wit cats Hey! We trumpets aren't loud all the time! haha The Random Freak Well, I'm a percussionist and I've dated a violin player and a non-band member. Personally, I'm mostly attracted to the percussionists and the trumpets. Oh yea! You're cool! Trumpets rock! lol biggrin But anyway, I think that percussionists shouldn't date each other cause I don't think it would work out. (Not that I've got any experience to speak from, having really known only one female percussionist and she's never dated anyone from her section!) I think they would probably be best paired with a saxophone or brass player.

Brass: Fine, because I can do stuff by myself Percussionist: I'm going to go drum for 7 hours other percussionist: Sweet, I'll go too. At my school, it's the color guard/drumline stereotype. Well, at least it was last year. This year the people who are dating are all dating people outside of band. Except for one drummer/guard couple, who will be having their first year anniversary next month.

I'm a percussionist. I'm being stalked by a saxophone, but I have my eye on a couple of High Brass members.
I wouldn't date my section, but I definately idolize a few of them. I wouldn't feel right about sectional incest D:
Speaking in terms of instruments, I'm completely obsessed with the bassline and the suzaphones.
I know some members of my section who are dating/have dated piccolos, colourguard, and Low Brass members.
I voted for CATS on the poll because that's the funniest damn thing I've ever seen.

I say it doesn't really matter as long as they're happy who cares. We have a percussionist dating a clarinet in my section, and they're a very happy couples, and then we had one dating a trumpet player, but for some reason unknown to me they broke up. So yeah I don't really care.

I'm a percussionist and I date another percussionist. We're both obsessed about band, so we both share drum technices and tips. Also, when we're studying or something I start tapping to a beat in my head, and usually when people yell at me, he just starts tapping a back beat along to it ;P I'd say Percussionist to Percussionist is a great match :]
