tangocat777 Sakyh Hey Jawes, may I inquire as to what you meant by: Mr Jawes Mary is significant in any all Christian mythologies, but it was Jesus who made the bigger splash, even among Catholics. Am I in the right topic? Yeah, Jawes mentioned it the beatles topic thingy & I was just curious. The again, I wasn't following much the conversation anyhow.

I wanted to grasp something else, but I'm not religious, and certainly didn't want to let them start a squabble over a mistake on my part. That and I played of the country's view of Cathlics with a bit of a generalization. No offense intended, of course.

None taken, I sensed humor in your post, just couldn't figure out what it was sweatdrop . Plus I know plenty of common misconceptions abotu Catholocism, and I'm certain that some of my beliefs about Protestants are wrong and I just don't know it yet.

I've got a pretty nice-sized Catholic family on one side, and Dogma--one of my favorite movies--plays off a lot of Catholic misconceptions. I'm just glad my family can laugh at it. As for protestants, everything you can say about them is both true and false at the same time. The thing is, "protestant" is a general term for people of the Church of England, Baptists, Methodists, Episcopalians, Lutherans, and others. The general rule of thumb is that if you aren't a Catholic, Mormon, or part of the Eastern Orthodox church, but still a Christian, you're a Protestant. The details depend on which church you belong to and how your Bible was translated.

I need to see Dogma! I hear it's really funny. Have you seen Saved by chance? it's hysterical!! EDIT: I remember one time a friend (agnostic) and I had to tell, explain, and thus convince another friend of moine that she, a Southern Baptist, was in fact a Protestant.

Churches don't seem to be big on their own factual history. Obviously there are arguments over faith, but knowing the whats, whens, and whos are important. Maybe Wak needs to school them 3nodding Dogma is also a winner. Kevin Smith is a Catholic, and he gets a lot of good stuff in for religious people if they take the time to listen. When you watch it, pay attention to Chris Rock and Selma Hayek.

Aww shucks. Looks like the big Beatles debate was dropped over a week ago.
I wanted to organize an argument against that Googly fellow, but would it be in vain?

In other news, Ace has finally come out of the closet and added me to his friends list. Everyone, I think Ace needs a round of applause for his achievements.
Disclaimer: Ace Paladin did not actually come out of the closet, but he did add me to his friends list.
