Well, Shuuken sees, these people are qualitatively different from herself in that...
... Gan's projections peter out as he winces a bit, as if he suffers from a headache. He continues to drag his body along, however, and after a moment, smiles at Shuuken again, though he still looks pained.
... Why's Shuuken bugging him with all these questions when she could figure out the answers herself. Rational empiricism and whatnot -- why can't Shuuken be one of those kids? Though he tuts, his ribbing is meant to be gentle.

Shuuken's eyes soften and she shakes her head slightly. It doesn't really matter, does it? They've met already and they're tied together by Fate. Shuuken couldn't separate herself from Gan if she wanted to.
She glances up to him, raising an eyebrow. And how Shuuken has wanted to.
The princess' eyes soften before she shakes her head slightly. No, Shuuken could pull herself away from Gan if she so wished; she just doesn't want to, no matter how he vexes or infuriates her. Shuuken admits that she finds this confusing.

Fate!? Shuuken is still talking about Fate!? Gan makes a fist and swings it as if to bonk her in the head -- but runs out of energy in mid-swing, teeters dangerously close to falling over again, then gathers his strength and continues proceeding meekly.
... The sooner they get there... the better.

And Shuuken grunts as she shoves her full weight against the Sorcerer, attempting to force his damnable body to stand.
Just a little farther! Is he going to let some limp-wristed dandy be the death of him? Shuuken won't allow it! Shuuken won't accept it! Actual anger begins to weave from her as she redoubles her efforts, pulling him towards the beach.
Just a little farther now! A little farther and then...
