Mouse Pachinkorelli I feel like your ripple essence has the most potential out of either of your ideas... because with less focus on the 'water' that's rippling and more on the 'motion' element that CAUSES water to ripple, you'd have some pretty neat possibilities for powers! THIS But bye bye, Ripple >: Perhaps something similar in the future. I'm still really really really gay for your Weeping Willow soul, though I also reeaaallllyyyy like your newest one, which I can't type, because it has a very complicated name. I'm just pleased you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. The mushroom has a lot of interesting potential but at the same time, I can't really place why I'm not fond of it... It's not that I dislike it so much as I like the other two a lot better than it. Dull Opal's feeding looks solid, it could lead to really interesting things. If the Raevan turned out monochromatic, or at least faded, I could see it sort of sucking up the colors into itself, either making it brighter or [depending, of course, on the colors it's eaten] looking almost like it was painted on o u o Maybe the colors around the rune would shift, rather, and become really bright in contrast to the rest of its body? I really like your concepts so far but I'd like to see more Essences from you! > A <

-Got rid of Amanita Muscaria for a potential Soul. Also wiped out its Raevan form and the questions I had on it.
-Found a new Soul in place! Aglaophotis, a mystical herb that Silent Hill fans would easily recognize. In before questions, I have found that this herb is in Arabic lore and a Greek physician and botanist named Aglaophotis to the peony family, so I believe it should be clear then. n.n
-Aglaophotis' Raevan form will come tomorrow I believe....

-Got rid of Aglaophotis and Weeping Willow for Souls, added Blackberry instead.
-Added three new Essences; Fool's Gold, Linear Lightning and Judgment Alcohol. All are up for critique and special thanks goes out to Petite Kitsune and Arana_Kamina for helping with Judgment Alcohol. :3 <3

-Added another Soul to my list. I'm looking at a phantom for a Soul, but the most detailed entry on such a being I could find was a Wikipedia entry on Shadow People. They pretty much look and act the same as phantoms do I'm sure, but if anyone knows of any books or websites with better details on phantoms (appearance, behavior, attacks, haunting grounds, etc) that would help me out a lot.

-Thinking more and more about going with a wraith Soul rather than phantom or Shadow People. Also, more info on them if anyone knows of any will be loved. Google keeps giving me results for the enemy in what I think is Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. D:

-Super small sized update today. o3o I changed the name of 'Judgment Alcohol' to something that I think better does the Essence justice and explains what the Essence is clearly in two words. The Essence's new name is 'Sober Liquor'. This particular one has really grown on me, I can imagine all the fun things the Raevan would do/get into with it as its driving force. >w<

-Made a small post in my Raevan section, just an addition that I'll put traits in things like personality, likes, dislikes, etc that any Raevan/Essence pairs seem to share. It'll be filled out a little at a time as I think of things, probably a bit soon because I already have a similar like planned out for them.

Um, hey, here to talk about your sobering liquor essence. XD The main thing that bugs me is that you have it as being made from a "storm-tainted fruit", which kind of feels to me like you're trying to get around the no manmade objects rule. o_O I'm not saying that's the case, but... why not just use the fruit itself as the essence? As an example, you could have Fermented Grapes that, although looking freshly plucked from the vine, give you a mouthful of wine when you take a bite out of them. :3 So you'd still have an alcohol-based Raevan without having to stretch it too far.

Hmm...When I was coming up with this one, I was told that fermentation was a natural process, especially in regards to fruit-based alcohols like wine. I know that like in beer, yeast is added in to the hops/barley/whatever mix to induce this, but in fruits bacteria and mold cause that.
Fermented Grapes does sound interesting though, and I can ask Snoof to help me fix this up a bit, but know that I'm definitely not trying to go around the rule. n.n;;;
What if it was, instead of a fruit changed by the Storm itself, a regular fruit in the process of fermenting/rotting, and the liquid that seeped out of it was changed?

Fermentation is a natural process, but it only becomes an intoxicating beverage when people take advantage of it. XD; You can find fermentation in nature, but not liquor or wine.
And, uh, I suppose you could do that, but that's making it a little too complicated, in my opinion. D:

XD; Well I'm not sure that's entirely true. My grandfather once took a swig off some apple juice that had fermented into alcohol and he got wasted. Apple juice ferments into alcohol which turns into vinegar later on, especially if you open it and don't put it in the fridge. 8XXX
I'm thinking hard on this, because I really do like this Essence. ; x ; I figured that way would be better because when things rot they tend to get soft, thin skinned and ooze, especially if said fruit had fallen or been knocked off the tree/bush/vine to the ground.

...and how is apple juice made? |D;; Someone had to harvest it and put it in a bottle somewhere down the road. There's always some human involvement in alcoholic beverages even if it's based off of a natural process.
